"NO MSG" Those words will greet you when you walk in and take a look at the menu. It is highlighted above the menu, next to it, on it... And with food this good, who needs it? Covington Teriyaki has become one of my favorite teriyaki places. The portions are very generous, the food is always good, and of course - no msg! (It doesn't bother me personally but I have to be mindful of it for my boyfriend's sake.) Prices are average to slightly high but, again, you definitely get your money's worth. The service is always great, though sometimes it takes a few minutes longer than expected. I have always seen the same woman working the register, and she has always been very friendly and helpful. (Very patient, too) Their teriyaki sauce is flavorful without being overwhelming. The chicken is always nicely grilled and served hot, and they even have good tempura (crunchy and light). They actually have 2 salad options - green salad (with a sweet dressing) or cucumber salad. Beware, the cucumber salad has a touch of heat. They have all the typical options for a teriyaki joint.. And a "meat mountain" meal that I would love to try some day. Bento meal is $10.95, regular chicken teriyaki is $6.29 (large is $7.29). What you see below is my 1 star review I left at Kami's Teriyaki down the street. This place is a breathe of fresh air compared to Kami's I will never go there. Wow wow wow wow. I walked in today for lunch there were a few people eating but none in line, not busy at all. The lady behind the counter was on the phone and it looked like she was taking an order because she had a prn in her hand too. After five minutes of standing there I realize that shes not taking another shes havimg a personal conversation in her native tongue wow. This is the kind of stuff you see in movies. Then she says Hi while still on the phone never pulling the phone away from her face. I looked at her with a dumb look but because today is beautiul I wont let her ignorance or TERRIBLE customer service ruin my day. I turned around and walked right out. I have no idea if their food is good and 2ill never know she doesnt deserve my business. TOOTLES . Update::: I was a little upset because I was really craving Teriyaki but I found this shop down the road calle Covington Teriyaki and the service is FABULOUS. Their building looks updated and sanitary, you can see the cook cooking and he's not hiding behind a current and best of all their food is amazing. This has become a regular stop for us for quick and delicious teriyaki. The California rolls are great, gyoza excellent, and teriyaki chicken is the best in the area by far. We've never had anything bad on the menu and recommend it highly. I have had take out a few times from this location before today and thought they were ok. Friendly service, but thats all the good things I've got to say. The only menu i could find online was horrendously out of date. The prices were much higher. They do not have any paper menus either. So even with the higher menu prices they over charged me by 30 dollars. But its been a long day and i just want to go home and feed my family. Now i'm 75 dollars lighter and still wondering how i'm going to feed my family. The garlic shrimp is a 2 small skewers of unflavored over cooked shrimps and $1.00 of plain rice. They didn't use yakisoba noodles in their yakisoba dish, seemed to be missing noodles and was also a quarter rice. The egg rolls are over cooked/burnt. the chicken and broccoli has breaded fried chicken, which isn't what I have received when ordered at any other area teriyaki or Chinese food restaurant. This chicken is soggy. The 3 entrees are supposed to also come with salad, which is a small carton of ice burg. I'm really upset that i spent so much to receive so little, and its not more than rice to feed my family. I guess if I lived in a 3rd world country this would be a feast, but alas all i am is broke. Now I'm praying I don't get food poisoning. read more

I made a pre-order over the phone today. I knew it was going to busy & we woudn't have time to order out because I work at a check cashing facility & the banks were closed today. I ordered 2 spicy chicken teriyaki & 2 regular chicken teriyaki's & when I went in the place was very clean & the lady at the front was very nice. But when I got to work the ordered for every togo order only had like a pea size of teriyaki sauce. It was all mainly dry chicken. I was very disappointed. I even left a tip. I will never go back & I will dispute this because the pictures on the bored did not look like the food. I probably should have checked it b4 I left. read more
