What cute coffee spot! I saw this place appearing on Yelp and decided to check it out this morning/early afternoon. Its in the parking lot next to echo church / behind city sports. I like that there was seating area to wait around or to sit/drink coffee. The barista who helped us was really nice! I opted for the creamtop cold brew with blueberry cold foam -- it was pretty good (not too sweet which is how I like my coffee drinks). Cowboy Coffee is such a cute hidden outdoor café! We waited about 15 minutes in line to order, but it was totally worth it. The staff is super friendly, and the drinks are delicious. I got the matcha with blueberry foam, and it was incredible -- you can really taste both the matcha and the blueberry at the same time. It reminded me of these blueberry donuts from OC that I'm obsessed with, so it instantly became one of my new favorite drinks. For $8, the cup was a pretty generous size too, especially compared to other matcha spots. The whole setup is outdoors, so just keep in mind it can get pretty warm, especially since there aren't too many umbrellas. But honestly, I'd still come back even on a hot day. Can't wait to return and see what other seasonal foams they come up with! I saw they used to have pistachio -- sad I missed it, but I'm crossing my fingers it makes a comeback. read more

Happened to find this place in my search for a quick cup of coffee on the way to a work meeting. Thought I was going the wrong way, but the place is definitely outdoors (soon to be indoors when the weather is bad) behind Echo Church Sunnyvale. Not only did they use great beans but had pour overs on the menu. It's always hard to find a highly rated coffee shop for just coffee rather than coffee based drinks. Love that a new local coffee shop has recently opened in Sunnyvale! Cowboy Coffee is a bit off the beaten path, but still close by to several businesses and homes. my coffee tasted like a cigarette and the line moves pretty slow. They have a nice sitting area outside and it's nice to be able to buy a sandwich from hash n dash in the same spot, though. I would come back to try out their matcha. EDIT: Updating my review to 4 stars because the owner reached out promptly and respectfully to talk about my visit. Honestly, compared to the poc owned cafés in the bay area, this place could really do the work to better their craft and portions. Came here on a Saturday morning. Line went by pretty quick. Staff members were nice and attentive. The turf that that have in the back makes it very inviting to hangout after you receive your order. I got the flash brew with the blueberry foam top. The blueberry foam was tasty, didn't feel like it was just a blueberry syrup added to it. The coffee itself was like a 3.5/5 for me. I came on a Friday afternoon and got the blueberry matcha latte. Its different and delicious! Its very nice little set up they have outside if you want to take in the sun or bring your pup. Only thing is the wait was very long (~25 mins for 1 drink) though they only have 2 ppl making a whole bunch of drinks on top that hand whisking & brewing each cup. They should really consider expanding and having an extra hand just so they dont rush making the drinks I do not recommend coming here if you're expecting a grab and go. It might be helpful if they add an expected wait time sign like Izumi for new customers. read more
