    Equipment I returned
    Ruslan K.

I called this company just to find out the prices for home Internet. I said that I was not ready to buy their services. After this call, they sent me a box with their equipment. I did not even take anything out of this box and decided to return it. In addition to the fact that they added extra work for me, they also told me that I had to pay $73 for the equipment they provided me. I was shocked by this impudence. Now I will never use their services and do not recommend them to my friends and acquaintances. I do not recommend this company, they are scammers!

***This rating is for Cox corporate customer service, not the store. CANCEL COX!!! I was a Cox internet/cable customer for more than 8 years. Their rates have increased steadily over the years. Recently I was informed that my rate will be increasing substantially (apparently no more promotions for loyal customers), that they would no longer be providing the free perk of McAfee Antivirus AND they arbitrarily charged me $69 for a channel I didn't request/approve. They refused to issue a credit. So today, I informed them to cancel my service. Their representative kept me "hostage" on the phone for over 20 minutes asking me the same questions over & over again to which I replied "cancel my service". I was told to leave the Cox modem for the next resident and that I would be financially responsible for it if that unknown person didn't use Cox or return the modem to Cox. When he finally cancelled my account I spent another 15 minutes trying to reach corporate customer service to insure I would not be responsible for their modem if I returned it. After speaking to her I attempted to pay my balance of $13.71, however the "geniuses" at Cox had already disabled my online account! 15+ minutes trying to reach Cox again. I explained that I was unable to pay my balance and was unnecessarily harassed/tortured when I wanted to cancel. I requested they waive the remaining $13.71 charge. They refused. OUTRAGEOUS!!! FYI A much lower internet price is available from Verizon, even better if you have their phone service. DirectTV had a way better price for cable, rate guaranteed for 2 years. Do yourself a huge favor - FIRE COX today!!!!

I have been a loyal Verizon customer since 2001. For over two decades, I relied on your network for my frequent work travel. However, the current situation at my residence in South Orange County, California, has become entirely unacceptable. Over the last few months, the cellular service at my home and throughout my neighborhood has drastically degraded. I frequently experience extremely weak signals, dropped calls or see the "SOS" indicator on my phone. Because I work from home, reliable cellular service is a requirement. I am currently forced to rely almost entirely on Wi-Fi calling just to use my device. Many of my neighbors are experiencing the exact same issues and have also filed complaints. My frustration reached a breaking point this week when I attempted to order a Verizon Home LTE/5G Extender to mitigate this issue: My initial phone calls were routed through a restrictive "Virtual Assistant." When I finally reached human agents, severe language barriers made effective communication nearly impossible. Frustrated, I went to the physical Verizon store in Lake Forest, CA. While the sales assistant was polite and apologized for the regional service issues, he could not order the device directly. He gave me a different phone number to call. Calling that number put me right back into the Virtual Assistant loop. I was transferred two to three times. Each transfer required me to complete a new security link verification process. I finally reached an agent who could place the order for the extender. As a 25-year customer, the process Verizon has implemented is deeply disappointing. Requiring repetitive security verification for internal transfers and blocking access to empowered, understandable support representatives is an unacceptable way to treat loyal clients. I am going to test the Home Extender once it arrives. However, if this device does not fully resolve the connectivity issues, or if the underlying local network degradation is not addressed, I will be forced to take my business, my multi-line account to a competing carrier.

I walked into the Cox Communications store on Sand Canyon Drive expecting to exchange equipment…read more Instead, I accidentally bought tickets to a live comedy show. Step 1: Sign in immediately. Step 2: Watch eight employees somehow all be "busy" while accomplishing absolutely nothing. It was fascinating. One employee was deeply committed to a laptop, another seemed to have an intense relationship with their phone, and the rest had clearly mastered the Olympic sport of looking occupied while avoiding eye contact. Then came my favorite part... After patiently waiting my turn, two customers who arrived after me asked an employee "one quick question." You know... the famous "quick question" that somehow turned into an entire customer service appointment. Apparently, the queue is more of a decorative suggestion. Eventually, my name was called by Nichole, who looked like someone had just informed her that break time was officially over. No "Hi," no "How are you?"--just pure enthusiasm... if enthusiasm had been unplugged. Every question I asked seemed like I was requesting the secrets to the universe. Meanwhile, the gum chewing suggested she was mentally already clocked out and halfway to Friday night. By the time I left, I found myself thinking, "You know what? The DMV isn't so bad after all." Honestly, next time I'll just call customer service from home. At least if I'm going to be frustrated, I can do it in sweatpants. Cox has mastered the speed of fiber internet. If only the customer service could load as fast. Would I come back? Only if Netflix starts filming a new season of The Office here.
