Just left brunch at Coynes, and the manager and serving team all allowed a customer to have his large snake slithering around his body, neck, head, and even the wall behind him while he was seated at a table. This is not something people want to see while they are eating at a restaurant, nor is that sanitary!! As someone who owns snakes; they are prone to carrying salmonella, which is obviously something a restaurant should be very careful about. The waitress and service were okay, she was not very personable. The food was alright. I probably would never eat here again. Not what I was expecting to see today. read more

This was our first time coming to Coynes and we will definitely be back. We truly tried a little bit of everything! The cocktails were tasty, we did the ahi tuna appetizer and guacamole to start. Both were so good. Then for dinner my boyfriend ordered the Short Rib Ragú and I got the Short Rib Colorado. Our friends both had steak entrees and said they were great. I switched to a nice glass of Merlot with my main course and finished the evening with a LBV Port. My friend raved about the Oreo cheesecake. Our server was great and attentive! read more

Coyne's On 12/4/20, I and MW visited Coyne's in Eagle. We were meeting for a late lunch/early dinner but decided to order off the Happy Hour menu, which has some of their most popular dishes. We also shared a dessert. Chicken Gumbo - Peanut butter roux, Cajun chicken with andouille sausage, okra and jasmine rice ($3). This was our favorite appetizer. It had a good flavor and generous chunks of chicken. I would order it again. Flautas Poblano- Rotisserie chicken, Oaxaca cheese, fried flour tortillas, roasted chili cream, scallions and cilantro ($6). I expected this to be my favorite appetizer but it was my second favorite. I don't know that I would order it again though. The presentation is lovely but I've never had a poblano dish that had so little flavor. This would be a great dish for your friend who thinks they like Mexican food but afraid of anything that has the barest hint of spice or heat. Brisket Tacos - Four smoked brisket street tacos with guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo and cojita ($6). We ordered this dish so we could try the brisket and the guacamole. We weren't impressed with either. Curry Lettuce Wraps - Butter lettuce, rotisserie chicken, curry dressing, green apple and chow mein noodles ($5). This was MW's second favorite appetizer. I think the flavor combo is interesting but it would be better if it didn't have the splash of Sriracha on top. A little bit of Sriracha goes a long way and quickly overpowers the dish. I suggest you remove most of it. This issue could be remedied by the cook mixing Sriracha with sour cream and drizzling a Sriracha Crema on top. Brown Butter Pound Cake - Bourbon salted caramel, candied bacon ($10). This is the restaurant signature dessert. Caramel is not my personal favorite but if you want a dessert that packs an explosion of flavor, this is it. We both enjoyed this unique dessert. I would be willing to go back and give Coyne's another try, this time ordering something off of the regular lunch or dinner menu, but there are a lot of other new restaurants that I am eager to check out first, as well as restaurants I have already visited that I would prioritize over revisiting Coyne's. read more

We have been to Coyne's about a dozen times since it was first recommended to us. Brunch, Lunch and dinners here- plus have come here for special events. The food has always been great and the drinks on point. It's clean, modern and warm atmosphere, great patio for nice days eating al fresco. For Brunch- they do not have a kids menu but my children have always gotten the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes. The potatoes are my kids favorites. Staff is always accommodating and split the dish between two younger kids which is always appreciated. My only wish is that they would have a small kids menu so they could have more variety. We have had most of the Benedict's and they are always good. I recently had the sopes divorciados. I was pleasantly surprised that they were made with fresh masa. Overall fairly good. The sauces that came it were mild in flavor. Lunch and dinner have been great. We have had the brisket sandwich- good, Peruvian chicken (hit and miss- Sometimes it's very juicy and flavorful and sometimes a little dry), lobster pasta was delicious, pear salad- great, beet salad- great, fig glazed pork- delicious, miso salmon- good. Drinks have been very well made- nothing too strong or overpowering. One thing to note is that they card you for drinks no matter how old you look . We have been carded 9/10 times. We will keep coming for the nice atmosphere and great food and service. read more

We came specifically for the Happy Hour. They had many things to choose from and some unique and delicious sounding drinks. The drinks were better than the food. The food was not bad, but wasn't great. Mismatched flavors and just rather underwhelming. Service was great and the ambiance is very nice. I would for sure go back to try the regular menu--maybe the appetizers by comparison just aren't the best. We haven't been back. It was not bad, just not for what you would think given the price point and general upscale feel of the place. read more

Can't say enough great things about this restaurant! We were recently recommended to try this place for our anniversary. Well, we did and it exceeded our expectations. My wife got the miso salmon and I got the flat iron steak. Both of which were incredible. The bar is beautiful and the lighting makes for an intimate setting. This place has a fantastic happy hour (2-5pm each day) - one of the best in town. The HH menu has a bevy of discounted craft cocktails and some great food options. I shared an order of guacamole, chicken flautas, brisket tacos, and Asian lettuce wraps, and all were solid. So were the drinks. Everything was reasonably priced, the portions were generous (especially for HH), and the service was great. I'd absolutely come back to try their regular menu next time I'm in Eagle. read more

So we decided to try this place for our anniversary and I'm glad we did a reservation because it was easy and they quickly got us seated. It wasn't super busy, inside and out both had quite a bit of seats left on a Wednesday evening. Our server seemed really out of it for some reason, I think she had quite of bit of tables to tend to so she just didn't seem all there with serving us if that makes sense. We ordered the guac and the potato chip scoops and it was yummy. The scoops we thought were heavily salted and peppered though. Ordered the tenderloin and I could get a better steak elsewhere unfortunately, it was over cooked. My husband said it was good but also agreed with me on his steak as well. I have heard many great things about this restaurant and was finally given an opportunity to dine with them. During Covid-19, expect to wear a mask upon entering and walking to your table. Once there, you can remove it. The greeters were very polite and quickly got us seated from our reservations. The ambiance is modern with a great outside patio is you are lucky enough to get a reservation out there. Drinks: The Old Fashioned with cherry liquor was delicious and a perfect way to open up the evening. I could've used a little more in the glass, but isn't that always the problem? :) Food: I had the Jamaican jerked chicken and my wife had a salad with Halibut. The chicken was moist with a good seasoning, however, what made the dish was the spicy Caribbean dipping sauce. The wild rice pilaf was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the Brown butter pound cake with Bourbon-salted caramel, candied bacon. This was very tasty and the salt and sweet was a great compliment. Came here for our 10 year anniversary Kimberly was our waitress she was amazing! Had some drinks they were strong no complaints on that! Had flautas as the appetizer they were delicious my husband had the cheesecake his only complaint was there wasn't enough meat his sweet potatoe fries were good I had the jerk chicken it was bland and I wasn't crazy about the sauce but my rice pilaf was delicious. Ok, Coyne's is OFFICIALLY my/our (my girlfriend's) new go-to dinner spot. 1) Best service we/I have had in years! YEARS. I wish I could have remembered her name. Unfortunately she had a mask on so I can't really describe her besides; super friendly, knowledgable about the whole menu, patient, funny and totally on top of our orders and requests. Oh, she had dark hair and lots of ear piercings. Give that girl a raise/promotion! I hope we get her again. 2) Food. Freaking delicious. I ordered the beet and goat cheese salad with burrata caprese. No words. So delicious. The goat cheese comes in deep fried panko, panko people! And it wasn't overwhelming either. Very light and flavorful. My girlfriends and sister ordered the flank steak with blue cheese risotto. Yeah, you bet I had a bite of that. When you think blue cheese, you think pungent. Nope! It was super light and the risotto was so creamy and cooked so well. Lastly, I ordered the chocolate bacon pound cake for my kids and it was TASTY! The pound cake was soft and the bacon melted in your mouth and you got a nice zap of salt at the end. I already can't wait to go back! Highly, highly recommend. Went to Coyne's for an early lunch on Saturday, 11/16. We thought they had brunch but found out it's only on Sunday. We made the best of it as we were all hungry and headed to an event at the Idaho Expo. There were four adults, and three kids, seven, four and nineteen months. Did i mention we were hungry? Because of the loud littles we sat out by the fireplace and it was great with the heaters. Lex was our server and if I could give her ten stars on a scale of five I would. She was awesome!! Although the food was a little dicey for kids, we were all able to order something, and it was great. The fish and chips were really good, the gumbo was delicious, and my husband really enjoyed the poke. Lex even had the chef put together buttered noodles for the baby. Very disappointed. Made a reservation 2 wks before our anniversary, confirmed the reservation via text and was told when we arrived there was no reservation. Hostess appeared to find it and then we were shown to a standard table after I'd requested a high top. Rerouted to the high top which was reserved for us. Ordered the caprese toast for an app; had mushroom duxelles on toast and was served with burrata and grape tomatoes. Very awkward to eat but tasty. Ordered the wagyu ribeye that came with smashed potatoes. The potatoes were cold and the steak was very chewy. Told the waitress the steak was not good and left most of it uneaten along with the potatoes. She brought the tab with no credit or offer of compensation for a $55 meal that was horrible. My favorite place for happy hour!! I love that they use local, high quality meat! My husband and I love their tacos and the buy one get one free drinks for happy hour! If you have a couple people, their fries with guac is great too! Minus one star because last time we went, we had a reservation at 4:45, but they didnt seat us until 5:05 and they wouldn't allow us to have the happy hour, even though we were on time and they weren't, which was upsetting. I love this restaurant! Every time we have visitors or new people to welcome to Idaho, we take them here. Their food is superb and made with the yummiest and freshest ingredients. The restaurant itself is clean, with a great bar and inside seating. My favorite is on the patio and we sit there winter, spring, or fall! The service is excellent, fast and consistent. Happy hour is the best with yummy, very fulfilling appetizers and BOGO drinks. Beautiful view of fountains from the patio. In the Winter, a roaring fireplace. The past few times to Coyne's have been outstanding. Tonite, both the quality and value stood out. The wine list is well put together and obviously carefully considered. I had a great glass of Prosecco at a great price point of 10$. My wife enjoyed her cocktail, well put together and reasonably priced. Their guacamole is always excellent. On the entrees, the poke bowl had fresh ahi, plenty of veggies and tobiko. The sea bass was off the charts. Perfectly cooked with a crisp well seasoned outside and beautifully moist inside with gnocchi, pesto, sun dried tomato, and shaved Parmesan. One of the best fish meals I've ever had! We didn't have room for the amazing chocolate churro, but will make sure to save room for the next visit. read more

Wow - one of the best dinners my wife and I have ever had in Idaho. We have come here a few time already but last night we must have picked the perfect dishes (and had an awesome server, Brittany, who made our experience so much better). She made magic happen when we mistakenly ordered the wrong salad and was just over all great. We both split the goat cheese and beet salad and it was seriously delicious. One of the best I've had. This was also my first time trying white beets- which were really tasty. My main course was the halibut with risotto and hers was steak with mushroom risotto. Everything was cooked to perfection. We had it for lunch today as we had leftovers and the taste carried over to the next day. Just an absolutely perfect meal. Will definitely be back. Oh, and the drinks were great as well. Great Eagle restaurant next to Boise River Greenbelt. Location is perfect for a walk before or after dinner. Comfortable, casual interior with patio dining. Host and servers were all on point. Had a ribeye that was perfectly done and seasoned well. Only disappointment was the wine list which seemed to tend toward ID, OR and WA. Was looking for a good Merlot or Cabernet to go with the ribeye but didn't find it. The Lava Cap and Kiona tried but didn't match the quality of the meal. read more

I ordered the large sized chicken gumbo "starter" which stated on the menu that it had chicken, andouille sausage, peppers, onions and rice. It had none of those ingredients other than a bit of stringy dry chicken. Apparently, the cook has ZERO clue what chicken gumbo should look like!!! So, my so called "soup" arrived and... no kidding....looked IDENTICAL to a pile of DIARRHEA with a small scoop of white rice floating on top!!!! To say that I was appalled is an understatement!
