Coyne's is simply a culinary and creative gem! Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere is incredible and vibrant offering a place for everyone! About the food, well it's good, dang good! The Ahi Tuna Napoleon is so good with very fresh and sprightly ingredients! The steak and mashed potatoes were executed to order and done perfectly! That yellow curry salad is no joke the best salad I've ever had, hands down! The heart attack on the plate that is this decadent waffle well that was as expected, delicious! I really like the overall ambiance and menu for lunch & dinner. We came for brunch and it's not the best for brunch if you want breakfast food. Service was great! We used to LOVE this restaurant. It was a special treat, and hard to get into with no reservations. We have taken to sitting at the bar and getting dinner. Over the last 6 months or so (since June), the food quality has declined- the short ribs are mostly Inedible fat, and the the carrots on the poke bowl aren't tender anymore, and the potatoes for the guacamole are different. The drinks are still good- except when the bar tender poured apple crown instead of regular crown for my husband. The worst is this: the wait staff congregates at the end of the bar closest to the kitchen. They are stand there, talking, flirting and gossiping. Last night, three different wait staff pulled up barstools and started talking about all Sorts of things- regularly including the bar tenders on-duty- who provided slow and distracted service. We got to hear about one server who claims to be a dentist but never went to college. Maybe she is a receptionist? She also was banned as a YouTube star after children's channel star for being too violent... Another girl who would be a neurosurgeon if she had it all to do over again. She's in her twenties- I'm a professor in biology- if she wanted to, she could still do this. I see students of all ages chasing their dreams. One guy who the girls were flocking to- he had just gotten off work- talking about how as a server he makes $30 an hour. He apparently used to have a top knot man bun. Then they started talking about how comedians and how Jeff Dunham was stupid and childish- That made us feel great since my daughter bought my Husband and i tickets to see him in February for Christmas. She was devastated. After drinks being empty for ten minutes, my Husband got up and complained to the manager. The flirty girls disappeared, but five minutes later, the Same manager came out and started BSing with the newly-off-duty employee. Really?! Didn't apologize to us or anything... just lots of BS'ing. Clearly this unprofessional behavior is coming from the top down. No wonder they all do it. Crave doesn't do that.., Bardenay (parent company?) doesn't do that... Not to mention the paperwork they work on at the bar. Such an absolute turn-off... nice binder, bro. Way to pay out tips in front of customers. So **incredibly** unprofessional. And this exact culture at the end of the bar happens EVERY time we are there... and has been since the fall. It's a major put off. read more

Met a friend for lunch and she lives Coynes. I decided to go with the caprese toast (can't remember the actual name). It was tasty but the prices are definitely a lot higher than others around town. The atmosphere is nice and the service was excellent. It is in Eagle so probably has a little to do with the high prices. I may go again but there are so many other places I'd rather try first. read more

My party of three chose to eat here mid afternoon before going out for the evening. I made our reservations for 2:30pm, and thankfully the restaurant was at a slow pace. After being seated, we waited for quite a bit of time, and then our friend went to see 'why' we had not been visited by a waiter. Mr. D comes to our table and proceeds to ask for our selections. I had ordered the Fish Tacos, and was confused about the protein for it was dark in color. I asked for a menu so I could reread the descriptive, and did find it was blackened Halibut. I was not asked if I wanted to order something else, so I stopped eating. Not once did Mr. D come to our table during the meal to ask 'how were we doing?' I spoke up and asked another young lady to tell our Waiter we needed to see him. Mr. D came over, and I asked that he please give us three separate checks. He did this and proceeded to stand there waiting for our payments. This behavior by him is unheard of, and the tension went sideways when he saw that my friend left him a tip of $2. He did the unthinkable, and confronted her by saying, "Why did you tip me $2?" She told him exactly why, which was the extreme wait time before he showed up to our table!" He then cut her off, turned to me and my friend, and said, "I appreciate you two!" and stormed off. Now, I ask you, would you return to this Restaurant? The over cooked burger was like just what you'd expect for and over cooked piece of meat chewy and not much flavor. The chicken and waffles were meh, nothing to write home about. My wife and I absolutely love Coyne's. We love that Coyne's is close but we would drive far if we had to. The atmosphere and staff are amazing and the food is always consistently well prepared and delicious. We have loved everything we've tried: -Guac and chips - the potato "chips" on their own are so good but the combo with the guac is just so good. -Wedge salad - best wedge salad we've ever had. Easy to eat as the wedge is chopped into more manageable pieces. -Beet and Chevre salad - Great combo of flavors. -Fig and Truffle burger - Love the sweet and savory combo of this burger. -Steak Sandwich - Coyne's twist on a philly cheesesteak which takes the taste a notch higher with the unique toppings. -Pommes Frites - We love these fries!!! Small, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The variety of dipping sauces are also really good. We always split entrees which ends up being plated separately. A nice touch that makes us like Coyne's even more! read more

Mike was a great server and was very attentive. They have a great beer rotating list and the 2-5 Happy hour half of speciality drinks is great! The drinks are fun too. Guacamole could use some extra spices but otherwise good and so are the brisket tacos. read more

Hubby and I went for "linner", a late lunch which will cover dinner as well. We were seated on patio, which was so comfortable! Our server was very attentive and brought our drinks promptly - freshly brewed iced tea for me and a delightful watermelon based cocktail for hubby. We decided on an appetizer of caprese toasts, which was a whole ball of burrata cheese with an arugula salad and duxelles covered slices of bread, drizzled with balsamic. Wonderful! I had the fish taco appetizer and hubby had the goat cheese and beet salad. I don't know why I ordered tacos as I am the only person I know that hates the fact that tacos disintegrate after the first bite and you wind up wearing pieces of taco. So I ate the tacos as a salad, using my fork to pull out fish, cabbage and cotija cheese. Delicious but just a tad too spicy/hot for me. Will choose a salad or sandwich next time. Hubby loved his salad with fried pieces of chèvre, pistachios and roasted beets. We were stuffed but decided to split a crème brûlée for dessert and it was perfect, nice toasted sugar crust! We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend for lunch (or brunch on weekends!) read more

We come here so often, yet I am continually frustrated. My most consistent issue is the rolls - how are they still serving these flavorless hockey pucks after all this time?! Boise/Eagle has so many great bakeries. Why can't they collaborate? The menu keeps changing. As soon as I find something I like, they take it off the menu. We ordered Creme brûlée and it was actually greasy with a mushy top - that is not good Creme brûlée. It's "good enough." The ambience saves the place. If they kept some of the great basic menu items and stopped raising prices like crazy, I would be more apt to leave a better review. read more

We enjoyed the shrimp tacos more than our meals. Steak sand, pork bbq sand and curry said were good though. The service was fine but the tacos served with only a couple of bites taken and then main meals served. No room on the table so it was awkward to hold while plate removed and the others set down. Timing needs work so you can enjoy a small plate and the main dish. It felt rushed and removed the experience of a nice mesl. read more

Pleasant evening, including great fries, but ordered prime tenderloin "medium rare". Came out "medium well". Yuk! The server did not check to make sure the steak was done to perfection. Next issue, ordered blue cheese wedge salad, which was very good, but came with watered down blue cheese. The salmon was excellent. And the final straw, no rolls while the tables around us had rolls. We asked the server why no rolls, and the response was that we came in at the tail end of happy hour, and no rolls are served during happy hour, even though we ordered off the dinner menu. Perhaps this was all a result of not being able to hire qualified help, even though the server was attentive. The less than positive comments are a result of higher expectations in a higher end restaurant. read more

Visited Coyne on Valentines Day with my wife. The food was great service was good, but the real problem with Coyne is that it is extremely loud environment. Between the loud background music that was very loud and the cackling lady with a large party at the end of the restaurant I couldn't even have a conversation with my wife across the table. The food at Coyne is an easy 4-5 the environment is a 2. While the food was excellent I will most like not visit this restaurant again because I prefer a restaurant with a quiet atmosphere. read more

I definitely recommend making a patio table reservation here. This was some of the best chicken I've ever had. The outdoor patio had gorgeous scenery, a little pond and waterfall, flowers, rarely any traffic, it was a lovely setting to chat with friends and enjoy good food. The service was friendly. Every dish I have ever gotten at Coyne's has been excellent. I've visited many times and love the atmosphere and waiting staff. Most of the servers I have interacted here are exceptionally upbeat and seemed to genuinely care about the turnout of their guest's evenings. My favorite thing to get here has to be the Flautas Poblano appetizer. They're always delicious and I can't resist ordering them each time I come in. Went the other night with a large group. I ordered the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was good. However, it came out on a cold plate. The prime rib and mashed potatoes were barely warm. My wife ordered the wedge salad and gumbo. The gumbo came out lukewarm. She had another server take it back, while she ate her salad. After fifteen minutes, my wife still didn't have her gumbo. Had to wait another five minutes for it to be brought out. By that time, everyone had pretty much finished their meals.
