We come here so often, yet I am continually frustrated. My most consistent issue is the rolls - how are they still serving these flavorless hockey pucks after all this time?! Boise/Eagle has so many great bakeries. Why can't they collaborate? The menu keeps changing. As soon as I find something I like, they take it off the menu. We ordered Creme brûlée and it was actually greasy with a mushy top - that is not good Creme brûlée. It's "good enough." The ambience saves the place. If they kept some of the great basic menu items and stopped raising prices like crazy, I would be more apt to leave a better review. read more

I think this is one of my favorite restaurants in the Boise ID. The ambiance is wonderful. The servers are great and the food is amazing. We loved everything we had there and will surely be back again! We made a reservation and would recommend making one before coming. read more

We enjoyed the shrimp tacos more than our meals. Steak sand, pork bbq sand and curry said were good though. The service was fine but the tacos served with only a couple of bites taken and then main meals served. No room on the table so it was awkward to hold while plate removed and the others set down. Timing needs work so you can enjoy a small plate and the main dish. It felt rushed and removed the experience of a nice mesl. read more

Pleasant evening, including great fries, but ordered prime tenderloin "medium rare". Came out "medium well". Yuk! The server did not check to make sure the steak was done to perfection. Next issue, ordered blue cheese wedge salad, which was very good, but came with watered down blue cheese. The salmon was excellent. And the final straw, no rolls while the tables around us had rolls. We asked the server why no rolls, and the response was that we came in at the tail end of happy hour, and no rolls are served during happy hour, even though we ordered off the dinner menu. Perhaps this was all a result of not being able to hire qualified help, even though the server was attentive. The less than positive comments are a result of higher expectations in a higher end restaurant. read more

Visited Coyne on Valentines Day with my wife. The food was great service was good, but the real problem with Coyne is that it is extremely loud environment. Between the loud background music that was very loud and the cackling lady with a large party at the end of the restaurant I couldn't even have a conversation with my wife across the table. The food at Coyne is an easy 4-5 the environment is a 2. While the food was excellent I will most like not visit this restaurant again because I prefer a restaurant with a quiet atmosphere. read more

Every dish I have ever gotten at Coyne's has been excellent. I've visited many times and love the atmosphere and waiting staff. Most of the servers I have interacted here are exceptionally upbeat and seemed to genuinely care about the turnout of their guest's evenings. My favorite thing to get here has to be the Flautas Poblano appetizer. They're always delicious and I can't resist ordering them each time I come in. Definitely recommend this place and reservations make the experience even more seamless. read more

The servers I've had are not the friendliest, always seem like they're flying by the table and throwing drink or food and then running to the next. The food is not great either, I've tried the poke nachos, a seafood dish and the braised beef. They are just okay. The outdoor patio had gorgeous scenery, a little pond and waterfall, flowers, rarely any traffic, it was a lovely setting to chat with friends and enjoy good food. The service was friendly. Went the other night with a large group. I ordered the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was good. However, it came out on a cold plate. The prime rib and mashed potatoes were barely warm. My wife ordered the wedge salad and gumbo. The gumbo came out lukewarm. She had another server take it back, while she ate her salad. After fifteen minutes, my wife still didn't have her gumbo. Had to wait another five minutes for it to be brought out. By that time, everyone had pretty much finished their meals. I would've waited 35 minutes for properly cooked chicken, especially if its a house specialty. Fire your chefs or tell ur Investors to go into restaurant design only . Tuna napoleon.. Tuna was still almost frozen .. its not supposed to be that cold .. too much soy sauce probably just kinkoman or some other terrible soy sauce. Staff was super nice. The roll was soft and what he expected. Meat was tender. I ordered the scallops. Presentation was very nice. First scallop was gritty. Broccolini was barely luke warm and very hard. I am not one for mushy vegetables but these were barely cooked. Not tender at all. Between the cauliflower rice, broccolini and scallops....this dish had no flavor at all. I realize that this restaurant is still fairly new but they definitely need to work out the kinks on the food menu. We had a friend highly rave about this restaurant so decided to check it out.Our waitress was great and the drinks were really good, I had the Fresh cut cocktail, which was super good and not at too bad of a price for $9. I really enjoyed their drinks...however, the food part left much to be desired. I ordered the Guacamole as an appetizer and the Guac looked like it came out of a tube or something...there were no cuts of onions or spices in it, it just tasted like avacado smeared into the bowl, thrown together with some whole cilantro leaves. It was not good at all and I'm not one to complain but I asked the server if it came from a box or was freshly made. She said it was freshly made but we had our doubts. We only ate 3-4 bites and that was it. Then I had the chicken Gumbo for dinner which,, when it came out to my table, had been sitting for a while and I had to stir it as it had started to separate. The flavor was just ok but the presentation looked much to be desired. Canned dog food has looked better. So, I don't know....I'm willing to try it again because I know it's new but I was pretty disappointed compared to Bardenay, where I've never had a bad meal there. I was pretty bummed after eating there and so was the rest of the party as well. read more
