If I could, I'd give this place zero stars, honestly. So upon walking in I asked how much it was for a gel tip manicure. She told me $55 with an attitude. So then she tells me to pick out a color and I asked if the colors that she pointed me to were for powder and she got an attitude and handed me a box. So boom fast forward to the actual manicure, sis was leaving cotton ball fluffs on my nails and hair on my nails and I was like yo can you please remove that, I KNOW you see that. She got a big ass attitude with me. She even went as far as to aggressively drop my hand on top of the UV light. So, instead of slapping the bitch with my hands, because I'm therapy and I'm not trynna go backwards. I took my 3 deep breaths in and 6 short breaths out and chose to slap them with a 1 Star trash ass review and a $6 tip. Bitch is lucky I even tipped with money. Should have written her a note on how to treat ALL customers. On top of all this, when I walked in they didn't want to pay me any attention. When the white girl walked in they were like what do you need how can we help you can I take your coat. WHAT ABOUT MY DAMN COAT?!!! Stumbled in here looking for a mani pedi. When I walked in there were only about 3 other people so they were able to take me right away. The staff was very nice and accommodating and made sure I felt comfortable. Even when I was leaving the lady helped me put my shoes back on which is an example of how they go above and beyond. After my mani pedi, I gave in and got a 10 minute massage while my nails dried (I am always a sucker for this no matter where I am). The massage was pretty decent for a nail salon, so I approve. I knocked off one star for the entire reason that it is NYC and no one carried cash. First of all, I'd like to say WHAT A FIND! This place really defines its name: cozy. I received a shellac gel manicure from Ivey and definitely put this to the test. I train Jiu Jitsu across the street and after my gel manicure, it held up (see photo) for 2.5 hours of grip breaks and other forms of sparring. This place is super clean and the price is fair. Stopped at this salon because I was in the neighborhood, wanted a mani-pedi and this place had OK reviews. The place is cute inside and had a nice vibe, so I decided to go for a spa pedicure and regular manicure. I had to wait about 25 minutes for service (which I didn't mind too much, given that I was a walk-in). Spa pedicure was very lovely and looks nice. The manicure, however, was a disaster. When the woman did my cuticles, she cut me several times. One cut was so deep that blood was dripping down my finger! That cut especially hurt, and instead of apologizing she told me to relax. Then I said I am bleeding and need to wash my hands. She then put some sort of solution on the one really bad cut. Then I proceeded to get an incredibly sloppy manicure. On top of this, they overcharged me, even though I payed cash. I honestly wanted to get out of there ASAP, so I did not press the issue. I overheard another customer also being overcharged on my way out, and she was upset. Giving this two stars because at least the pedi was nice...but I would definitely not recommend this nail salon. Update: both mani and pedi are chipped and it has not even been 24 hours (and I have not done anything aggressive with hands or feet to have brought this on). I did a polish change at this salon and I must say it is a cute and clean nail salon. I brought my own polish and they were more than happy to take me without an appointment. It cost me about 7 dollars for a polish change and the tech was so nice even when I messed up two nails during the process. I took off a star because they don't have tools that come from pouches. I got SNS powder on my fingernails and and regular gel polish on my toes, which is my usual when I get my nails done. Today is Thursday 08/20/2020 and one of my nails has chipped. I have been doing SNS for over a year at another nail spa (I moved too far away from them) and I have NEVER had this happen before. In addition, while doing my nails, the lady filed the my skin and now I have little cuts around my nail, which is causing the skin around my nails to peel. On top of that she never apologized for cutting me with the file even if I was visibly and audibly hurt. In addition, the shine on my nails is already gone on one hand, because she buffed the top coat after SHE smudged it. She did not even apply another layer of top coat after buffing. VERY UNTIDY WORK. I have never had such terrible work done on my nails before. Do my nails even look like I got a manicure 3 days ago?? No they do not. And then when I was paying, she had the audacity to say "we only take tips in cash", not even asking if I wanted to tip. The only reason I tipped and I'm okay with this post having one star is because the girl who did my pedicure was absolutely lovely. (Even if she tried to tell me I NEEDED this extra and I NEEDED that extra). I will never return to this place unless it's for a refund. read more

The manicurist informed me that tip was cash only mid-manicure and upon realizing I didn't have cash on me, she informed me there was an ATM in the back. She continued to inform me the ATM is in the back twice after. The manicure was about 10 minutes long with an awkward 15 second massage after. Come when you want a relaxing, high-quality and affordable mani:pedi:chair massage. Pricing is cheapest I've found for the quality. $28 for gel mani, $10 for 10 minute massage. They use lotion for their massages and wipe it off with a hot towel after...soooo nice. This was my first time here and because of that, I didn't really say anything when the girl began filing my nails WITHOUT soaking them first. But my hands felt dirty and honestly, since I've never had a gel mani this way, I finally asked why she chose not to soak. The owner told me that gel remains longer when applied to dry nails and that 'her' brand of gel polish was guaranteed to stay on for 2 weeks. Excuse me lady, ALL GEL MANICURES ARE "SUPPOSED" TO STAY ON FOR 2 WEEKS - THAT'S THE POINT. Super cozy atmosphere and great service. I call a few hours ahead of time and their almost always able to get me in which is great. I went here last night (11/21/21) and accidentally forgot my necklace after it was taken off for the massage. I was so worried it was lost or stolen but they took such great care of it for me & I was so lucky I was able to get it back today! Very kind and honest people which is hard to come by these days. A lot of the reviews say they don't like the fact that they only take cash tips, but every salon I've ever been to has worked that way & it's no trouble at all since there are several ATM's close by and they are always willing to make change. There is a manager that works in the salon who is very nice and professional. Every time I visited this salon she was present and on top of everything. However, yesterday besides the wait being longer than usual (which happens so I'm not faulting them for that) the service was bad. There was a young lady who said she started working there about a month ago. She gave me a gel pedi and it was horrible. When I told her I was dissatisfied she had an attitude as if it was my fault. Then she blamed my toes saying it can't hold the gel properly...that was unbelievable!! So crazy it really made me laugh. I initially wanted to get a gel mani and pedi but after that I decided to just leave and get my nails done somewhere else. What is interesting is there are so many nail salons in NY that the competition should force businesses to be a bit more friendly and accommodating in order to keep customers. If you do not have time for an hour long massage, I would recommend getting a 10 minute chair massage. Those are also amazing. As for the mani & pedi's, their prices are reasonable. The woman working on my nails was working on another customer's nail at the same time so she did a coat on my hand, went to the next chair and did the other customer's nail, came back to do another coat, and you get the point. As a male customer, I also felt more comfortable and welcomed here than anywhere else I've gone. It was a Tuesday night after 8pm, and the atmosphere was very peaceful which was great as I don't enjoy being in a hectic nail salon. I only go for basic pedicures with no color, so I can't rate their other services, but I was happy. I had a nice relaxing experience, and my feet looked and felt great afterwards. Gel mani and pedi package was $70 before tax and tip. I think it's especially worth it to get the gel pedi because of the AMAZING MASSAGE CHAIR!!!!! The employees may not speak perfect english but are very understanding and patient with requests (e.g. Could you redo this and that / this hurts / can I get a blanket, etc).
