Great breakfast place, don't let the exterior scare you. There's a lot of places to eat in the South Bay, but I always find myself here on Saturday mornings. There's a bunch of items on the menu, but I can vouch for the club omelette and the gaucho. You don't get portions of this size, for this price, much anymore. Definitely worth a try. read more

The man knows food! The name of the place says it all, but George, the owner is priceless. He loves people and food and it shows! I had the 2x4 and let me tell you, it was like sitting at my parent's breakfast table with it all done perfectly. The bacon was crisp, the eggs were not runny at all and the pancakes were like clouds. It is definitely a hole in the wall and no frills here, but it is a gem of a find in a town crowded with Denny's and IHOPs. Seating is very cozy so be prepared to rub elbows with your neighbors, but there is more room in the patio area which might be too chilly on cloudy or cool days. My only complaint is the parking sucks, so go early for breakfast on the weekends. Service is fast and very friendly and the atmosphere here feels like you went to your grandparents house for breakfast minus the industrial fridge, counter and menus. Come here when you're hungry. Have always wanted to try this place but was afraid to take my wife so my older brother that I like to call "Lil Chris" said he would brave it with me. The mystery is finally over! This place was perfect for breakfast which is what this review will be based on. Sampled pancakes, scrambled eggs, eggs over medium, home fries well done, link and patty sausage, coffee and OJ. The pancakes were just right, eggs almost perfect, sausage was better than most, OJ wasn't fresh squeezed but tasted good and foamy, potatoes were cooked to perfection and the last but not least was a perfect cup of joe. I drink it black so you can tell if the coffee is good or not. It was perfect. I think it was Farmer Bros. Which is the quintessential cup of coffee. Starbucks has its place but not with the perfect breakfast IMO. Would have liked to sample the French Toast and an omellete so maybe another day. If you are looking for ambience forget about this place unless you are looking for a clean trailer environment. More of a guy place or surfer/hang out with your old retired cronies. The service was excellent and very attentive. Would probably give them 41/2 stars but yelp won't let me. Will go back but probably with the guys and not the little lady. I know Lil Chris liked it a lot. Just missed the time deadline for the bone special. read more

man, took my wife here for birthday breakfast .. .i always say i want to go here - but its usually after its closed =( george is still the same (i have been going here for about 30 years) the food is still great... esp. the pastrami omlete & the greek deluxe omlete ... talk about two great plates! great service, great food, good prices!!! what else could you want? yes, its a little hole in the wall - and most drive right by it - but stop in - you will be glad you did!!! read more

This place is great! When I first walked in, I was like -- woah-- this is supremely tiny, where's the seating? But once I sat my butt down on one of the 6 barstools surrounding the "island" of a service area, I was amazed at how friendly, outspoken, and humorous the staff was (which seemed to consist of the owner and his best friend). And the food was delicious-- really fresh and relatively healthy tasting for a diner-style meal. This is definitely the place to go if you are not in the mood to cook, but don't really want to eat "restaurant" food. It's kind of like grandma's house. read more

For background, a pet peeve of mine is ordering pancakes, and then have them sit on the heat lamp counter for 5 minutes - that's the kiss of death for pancakes. Not here - there is no such counter! First time here & had their chorizo & eggs. It was actually pretty decent! Coffee on the weaker side, prefer the brew @ Eat @Joe's. Good breakfast, attentive staff and a great place to start your day.

The back patio is the place to be. We visited two days in a row and plan on making more morning walks there before we leave Redondo. Over the past two mornings we have had the stuffed banana French toast, corned beef hash and the Greek deluxe. The stuffed French toast was huge and included strawberry jam, cream cheese and bananas sandwiched between four large slices of toast. The corned beef was tender and juicy. The Greek deluxe includes gyro meat, spinach, tomato and feta scrambled in eggs and topped with tzatziki. The owner is fantastic and doesn't only greet us, he sits down to talk with the patrons. The rest of the staff is very friendly and attentive. I have become a fast fan! read more

Fun to visit... lots of attention and consideration from the owner.. coffee cup never went dry. A small / cozy place to elbow up to some friendly local folks along a breakfast counter. The local folk really know a lot on how to solve may of the worlds problems.. very entertaining :D Generous portions and very tasty breakfast... Funky dive restaurant in a old converted house. Two parking spaces in the old drive way. Front room is all counter style, behind that is a room with 3.5 picnic tables. People share tables here. Good prices, large portions. I had the stuffed french toash. Two huge peices of french toast with bananas, jelly and cream cheese in he middle, powdered sugar on top comes with four sausage or bacon. First time here today! I love this place. Its like a breakfast version of a dive bar... small bar to sit at, everyone is super friendly, almost feels like you're eating at someones house. Food came super quick, had the corned beef hash, potatoes were kickin and eggs cooked perfectly, the bf had a veggie omelette that he barely made a dent in, it was sooo huge, the ortega chilies in his omelette really put the icing on the cake. we're definitely coming back. I've driven by this tiny, unique house so many times without realizing it was a cafe. It's located right next to the Wells Fargo Bank on Torrance/PCH. I went Sunday morning & parked in the bank parking lot since it was closed, otherwise finding street parking may be a slight problem. Inside is a little counter that maybe sits 10 people but in the back there are picnic tables. The staff is quick & super friendly, the food & portions are great & it definitely has character. What are people so depressed about Cozy Cafe???? The owner, who is Greek, is great for small banter. You can tell that regulars come here all the time who will banter with you. Someone is sure to have a section of the newspaper for you to read. It REALLY is cozy. And talk about small! The bedroom I'm writing in is bigger than the place! But that's part of its charm. Now on to the food: right now I can't find a place anywhere nearby that'll give you such a good deal with a breakfast and make it sooooo yummmy!!!! Good call on the banana pancakes!! Really fluffy and sweet flavor of vanilla. Very small place but we liked it- good service and you get your food fast. The owner is a character - a funny guy. He gave my kid a bowl of sliced bananas to keep him happy. Breakfast for two was $18, very reasonable. I will be back. They have a tiny counter for about 5 people inside, and three of four benches outside. This is not a place for big groups. Nor for lots of kids (they have one high chair). I'm always in search of local goodness and this is it. I love GREEK food, mediterranean doesn't cut it and this is a nice mix of American/Greek/Mexican type fares for breakfast and lunch. I live less than a mile from here, sweet, my diamond in the rough. Super small space, just 10-11 seats around a U shape marble counter, I hear there's outdoor deck seating but it's watching the staff and chatting with George that makes the meal. Yes, the owner is there to make sure all the patrons are happy. This place reminds me of a smaller version of Apple Pan up in W. L.A. but with a breakfast menu instead. Came here around 11am on the weekend and was aiming at breakfast, one of the best meals of the day. Read about the dreamy banana pancakes but I'm a savory girl myself so I went with the Greek Scramble, yummy feta cheese, spinach, tomatoes went DELUXE and had gyro and mushrooms with a side of breakfast potatoes. My girlfriend opted for the banana pancakes. Come HUNGRY, the portions are not small or feel the price you get is for 2 meals. The pancakes were bigger than the size of my girlfriend's head, came as a pair of hotcakes and the Greek scramble was a pile of hot goodness topped with tzatziki sauce, made me miss Greece(before the financial crisis) And as we chatted with the other patrons, I was lured by a bowl of chili, my weakness. You walk into this place and there are literally 10 bar stools and that's it. I love that! It's cozy and intimate. There is a patio section in the back with benches for family style seating. The food is simple and that's what makes it so good. The service is amazing! It's always the same two guys who are always so nice. The manager is a rough around the edges, brash, trash talker but loves his customers. He loves to joke around. You can tell the food is made with love and the place is so small, it makes for good conversation with the other patrons in the place. read more

After driving by this place for years, we finally went for breakfast and we were not disappointed. Yes, it's just a hole-in-the-wall but it's a neighborhood gem! I ordered the 2 pancake breakfast that comes with 1 egg and 2 bacon or sausage for $4.50. The egg and bacon I ordered was perfectly done and the pancakes were wonderfully fluffy. Ok so the place isn't fancy at all, in fact it's kind of dirty and I was hesitant to actually eat there but I ordered the banana pancakes and WOW delicious! I've passed this diner hundreds of times and since I had a smog test done across the street and had 45 minutes to spare, I decided that I would finally check them out. When I walked in, I couldn't believe how small it is. Maybe 10 people can fit at one time. They were super friendly and accommodating for substituting the meat for something else.
