Food was great, Waitress was great intel we pointed out that a couple had let there DOG up on the seat an was eating off the table!!!!! We pointed it out an she said Ohh they do it all the time!! We were going to mention it to the manager as we left. but he was busy with other costumers, Did not want to bring it up in front of others!! It's time people learn that DOGS do not belong in restaurant's!!!!! I will go back to C D again, but if I see a dog in there, I will call the Health Department, I will video tape it an put in on social media!!!! read more

We ate at the one in Paradise, the waitress was on the job, never had to look or ask for anything. The Santa Barbara burger was freakin amazing. This comes from a burger aficionado. The taco salad my friend had was huge and she said was as good as it looked. We will definitely be back. Everything tasted very fresh. I am new to Paradise. I have eaten at the Cozy Diner a few times and nothing was outstanding. The food is expensive and very mediocre at best in quality. Most of the food is instant crap. The Hollandaise Sauce is instant and disgusting, just like their gravies. The fresh baked pies appear to have no fresh fruit; all canned pie fillings. There is no menu for lighter fare and fewer-calorie food options. There are no breakfast offerings that are reasonably priced. They have a Kid's Menu but offer no Senior Citizen Menu. They do not offer senior or military discounts. The business owner and female morning manager are both greedy, money-grubbing individuals that don't care about their senior customers. Most customers in Paradise are seniors and veterans. They used to give seniors free coffee, tea, or a soft drink with any meal purchase, but unfortunately they have very recently eliminated that senior perk. They seem to keep raising their prices, while senior and military pensions have not increased. The facility interior decor is very old, tacky, and disgusting and is a far cry from "cozy". The carpet needs to be replaced as it stinks horribly. The gray-colored walls and trim are dirty and so depressing. The interior lighting is a disaster and makes the food look awful and unappetizing, and once tasted you will agree. The fake stone waterfall, that will never work again, is also very tacky and should be demolished. The restrooms are always filthy, which is a "prime indicator" of how dirty and unclean the kitchen and prep area probably is. I intend never to eat there again. As more restaurant venues open in Paradise, I predict the Cozy Diner will go out of business. I would give the Cozy Diner zero stars if I could. Stay away from the Cozy Diner. There are much better places to eat in Paradise that have exceptional food quality, much more interior ambiance, and that are much more affordable and reasonably priced!!! On my last visit, I ordered the "broasted" chicken. One piece of chicken tasted awful and, upon further investigation, it was obviously a spoiled piece of meat. I told the waitress, who just got me another piece. The worst part was that she did not seem surprised. I didn't think this was a small thing since spoiled chicken could make someone really sick. There was no apology, no visit to the table from the manager, nothing comped on our check. I had stomach issues later. I wonder how many other people ate spoiled chicken that day? read more

I go here sometimes and it is pretty good. But today I had their fish and chips for the first time. It was the worst fish and chips that I have ever had. The portion was about an inch and a quarter in diameter but the fish inside was about three eights of an inch in diameter. ok, so we went to Cozy Diner for the buffet breakfast on Sunday. We are kinda new to Paradise but we had eaten here before and it was ok. The food is good and the buffet has lots to chose from. I just feel like we are herded in and herded out. Why are all the servers in a hurry? So we ordered buffet with no directions from our server. She knew how to take the order and write it down...... but without telling us where the buffet is and where we get a plate?? Finally she whisks by our table and I asked ?? So the happy hubby was now on his way to the infamous buffet. While I waited on my egg order, didn't come the way I ordered...... oh well. I went there to pick up some chicken to go, I got the family deal. When I got home 7minutes later, we noticed the mashed potatoes were hard and dry. It seems we got some old potatoes. Their breakfast is good, and general dining room same. But the buffet on weekends, which has different meat, is served in an area lacking proper food handling from what we saw.. Plates were stacked on cart shelves about 2ft off the floor level, food was sitting (without any covering) on something next to the hot meat cart in very back, some of the meat on the buffet line was completely dried out/very difficult to cut with a knife? The food handling is not very good, and the decor is just about awful. It felt like some some run down unkempt cafeteria. I'm from Los Angeles, I came to visit my brother and his family. I took his kids out to the Cozy Diner. I said you pick! Anywhere you want to go I'll take you. So we ordered. Service was great. Drinks filled I ordered a turkey burger with the sautéed mushrooms and I think Monterey Jack cheese. OMFG...it's been a week and I'm still thinking about that turkey burger! It was so good! I couldn't believe it. The kids ordered chicken strips and a bacon cheeseburger. Ate it all! Then to desert! Strawberry shortcake, chocolate shake, and cherry pie heated! It was so good. Thank you. The food, the service and the management are all awesome at this diner. I am in town working and thought I would try this place out for dinner and sure glad I did. I had the Captains Platter and omg the fish is delicious and the shrimp was great. The baked potato was wonderful with bacon and cheese. Speedy service never an empty glass at the table and the manager came by twice to make sure everything was ok. Then you get a free slice of pie on Tuesday!!!! Didn't really have room for it but it was so good I at it anyways. I don't give 5 stars often but they deserve it. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to grub because we were very hungry, we both ordered burgers with seasoned fries and it was so delicious!!!!! The seasoned fries impressed me, they were way better than Denny's fries and I LOVE Denny's fries. Their milkshakes could use some work, bigger cups would be nice. But other than that it was super great and I will be coming back for more food. read more

Great place for consistent food. Typical diner menu, breakfast all day - and all of it is very basic/standard. The staff is friendly, but the service can be slow. The pies are good, but I recommend staying home and making your own chocolate pie!! Theirs is not impressive. Banana Cream though, delicious! read more

Having moved to Paradise from the "big city", I was amazed at the food you get for the price you pay at Cozy's. A whole pie for eight bucks? It's definitely old school with a lot of "old" people who eat there, but that's fine...I'm sure those on a fixed budget find it affordable as a place they can go for a dinner out. Families with children, too, and a kid's dinner for 99 cents! Breakfasts are great, the waitresses friendly, the staff helpful. Lots of choices on the menu - it is what it aspires to be - a down home diner and a Paradise icon for sure! Somehow can't imagine Paradise without Cozy's. It's a town staple. read more

As far as diners go, Cozy in Paradise is very nice. I don't eat out much, but this is my go-to spot. The staff is always very attentive and friendly, the service is quick and they have plenty of food options and fresh pie. I recommend the Harris Ranch steak which I usually get with their build-your-own menu for 9.99 served all day (but you may have to ask for it if before diner time). You may even recognize the place from the movie Stolen Innocence that was shot there in '95. But it wasn't called Cozy back then, but you will recognize the waterfall fountain in the background. The Chico location is nice too, but this place has an actual grill for the steaks. read more

Worst place ever! My friends and I ate here last week and it wasn't very busy. We waited almost five minutes until being greated and sat. Waitresses saw us, but never tried to help. I wanted to try the lumber jack burger or something close called that. It was suppose to have two patties, if i remember 1/3 lb each, cheese, fries, and onion rings. I asked for medium well. We got our food almost twenty minutes later. The burger patties were not 1/3 lb and did not look anything like the picture in the menu. My meat was well done and you could tell it was frozen patties. I only could eat two bites and no more, the fries were also cold. The other food my group received was also cold and could not eat it. I will not ever go here again and I do not recommend eating here. Poor service, horrible food, and not a good time. read more

My Husband an I were recently in the Paradise/Magalia area looking for a new home and our realtor recommended the Cozy Diner for lunch. As soon as we walked in I fell in love.. I am from a small town in the Midwest and it was like being back home again. It is a large restaurant that has a huge menu and a nice buffet which we had. Everything tasted homemade. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were delicious and yes the desserts looked amazing but II was to full to eat any. The waitress was great. The prices were very reasonable. We are heading up again in a couple of weeks and will definitely eat there again. read more

We had a good breakfast at this restaurant with my wife's siblings. I am glad my brother-in-law suggested that I get the hash browns extra crispy. Good bacon, but a little bit fatty. Eggs were perfect. Very good coffee. The pies looked awful tempting, but I guess they would not go with breakfast. I will have to insist on lunch here the next time I am in Paradise so I can try some of their pie. Very good service. Parking is adequate. read more
