To begin, 60$ is an outrageous price for what you're given here. Crab legs are stale and do not taste fresh. Variety was lacking, restaurant was hot. Deserts consisted of grapes, chocolate covered strawberries that were an hour away from expiring, and lukewarm banana pudding. Another "been here once but will definitely return again" location. First time here was on vacation the week of 4/21/25. Friendly staff, clean establishment and some great seafood. GO HERE HUNGRY!!!! While we decided against the $50 seafood and $100 lobster buffet, we did get one of the fried shrimp and peel & eat shrimp appetizers. ONE appetizer would have fed two men with no problems. There must have been 50 fried shrimp in that basket and 1/2 a point peel & eat must have been another 75 shrimp. We ate what we found and snacked on the left overs for the next two days!!! YES!!!! Going inside the place is packed with ornate, large, colorful scenery that make you feel like you are sitting in someone's aquarium, complete with whales, sharks, octopus, huge crabs, lobster, okra, giant pufferfish , even penguins and a massive boat wreck. If that was not enough, the entire place is animated complete with sound. They startthe animation up every so often, especially when kids come in. It makes you feel like a kid again. The buffet is amazing. Not just fried fish, but broiled fish, ocean scallops, blue crab, crawdads (mud bugs), Alaskan snow crab, two types of steak, mounds of deserts. The spread is not only extensive, the food is made available with care to detail and presentation. An attractive buffet too. If you only went for the snow crab, the buffet would be worth it. It is the best, most tender snow crab I have ever had (and I get them regularly at seafood restaurants) Now remember, it is a buffet so the service isn't something you would normally expect to be great. We went here for dinner, last night, Mon Jan 25, 2026. The food was HORRIBLE. Crab legs had been on the buffet so long they were cold and rubbery. Mashed Potatoes & French Fries were cold. Yeast Rolls were harder than a rock. Shrimp was nasty. Chicken and fish were dried out and cold. I told our server, so did 2 other tables tell their servers. There was 4 tables total the entire time we were there, and our server was the only one to ask if the kitchen could prepare food fresh for us, to which we agreed. That food was okay, but definitely not what we're used to getting for the exact same price at Giant Crab or Captain George- both also all you can eat buffets. Wow! This place is phenomenal. What an amazing place to take your family and especially kiddos. The sea animals all around the restaurant are animatronics and they move around. It's so colorful too, and it's just a really fun themed place. Definitely the most fun seafood restaurant in Myrtle Beach! The staff and service is so friendly and attentive. And, the food is epic! Mussels, shrimp, Mahi, Salmon, clams, fried clams, fried shrimp, potato salad, and prime rib were delicious. The watermelon was so sweet and delicious. Pineapple and cherries were perfect. The underwater theme of the place was pretty cool to see. Lots of animatronic creatures that moved and made noise occasionally. Service was great. Waitress made sure empty plates were cleared, emptied shell bucket as needed and replaced with new one, and kept drinks refilled. The 2.5 overall rating for this restaurant is definitely correct. It's the smallest buffet I've been too in the Myrtle Beach area consider its the same price as the larger ones with more selections. I started with the crab legs which I usually don't get because I don't feel they are worth the effort. I got three clusters and managed to get three pieces of leg meat because they weren't hot. Most of the meat options were also not hot and tended to the bland side. One dish next to the crab leg pot was very good which contained peppers and onions. The desserts I chose were dry. Attention to detail is lacking at this restaurant, accept when it comes to putting a 20% reservation on your $100 gift card. Crab Daddy's management will lie straight to your face and tell you that only $80 dollars is available on your $100 gift card, but fail to explain the reason why! This is because management puts a $16 reservation on your card tying up those funds. If this happens, be sure to take a picture of each gift card receipt that you are asked to sign. Register your gift card online and look for the transaction that shows what amount of money they are holding hostage. They are also hoping you are never going to check on the actual details, so apparently they can then siphon off those additional dollars later on. Nowhere in the restaurant does it explain this unscrupulous process. The wait staff is not trained to understand or be able to explain to customers why the full gift card balance is not available. If you speak to Crab Daddy's management by phone the next day, they will try to blame this ransom process on your gift card company! If, you call the gift card company at the customer service number printed on the back of the card, they will confirm as suspected that the $100 can be spent in full at a restaurant without any reservations being placed on your card, and that they are not responsible for this hold on your funds. Unfortunately, this is just another shady process concocted by the management staff at Crab Daddy's! This is just the next wave of shady scams circulating in the Myrtle Beach community. In addition, you will find a $3.95% service charge added to all transaction per the details at the bottom of the receipt, and printed supposedly somewhere inside the restaurant. If, you are contemplating having a soft drink or tea with your meal, be sure to come in fully dehydrated, so you can justify that $5.99 price tag on this all you can drink beverage! Last but not least, this restaurants $49.95 buffet is hardly worth this value. The number of items on Crab Daddy's buffet pales in comparison to the other highly rated buffets in Myrtle Beach. If you love fried oysters, go find another buffet! You will only find raw on the half shell here. If, you're looking for perfectly cooked vegetables, then you better look elsewhere! Limp asparagus is apparently their speciality, or just another deterrent for something you won't want to eat! You also will not find a nice piece of sautéed, grilled, or broiled white fish. Instead, you will find some low quality previously frozen minced fried onion rings. How about a nice cut of New York Strip Steak? You will find some unidentifiable beef labeled as strip steak, but it tastes nothing like a good piece of beef! Do you want some good crab legs? Don't get your expectations up, since the crab legs are definitely overcooked and mushy at Crab Daddy's! So, if you intend to use a pair of pliers to crack them, be ready for them crab legs to bend, but not break! The cause of this poor quality could be related to an extended freezing process, or just overcooked crab legs! Either way, this process will leave you disappointed, as extracting the meat whole is almost non existent! Instead, be prepared to run your finger inside the length of the shell gathering mushy stringy crab meat after splitting the soft shell lengthwise with shears. The baked imitation crab, and shrimp prepared like scampi were the best items on the buffet, but hardly worth this buffets price! This is supposed to be all about the "Crab", but this buffet does not stand up to the competition! Management's policies will eventually cause this restaurant to fail, in addition to their inability to figure out how to consistently serve excellent crab legs! For a restaurant raking in $50 per person, comfortable seating should be the expectation, instead of uncomfortable lawn chairs! I would suggest management repair the handicap entrance ramp, trim the hedge, mow the lawn, and fire the management responsible for this gift card scam! On our recent trip to the beach, we were excited to eat the local seafood. When we got there the service was friendly but we were escorted to a table that was crammed I to a corner nook with little to no lighting. The table was broken and we had to navigate around a wet floor sign that was placed directly behind our chair. When we got there the menu was not priced any cheaper than the buffet and the server told us that we would be wasting money on a menu item because it was the same food but a smaller portion. So we all opted for the buffet. The restaurant charges $49 for the buffet and does not include a drinks. If you want a tea or soda, that's another $6. We knew it was going to be pricey but figured you get what you pay for, right? Wrong. As we dived into the buffet offerings, it was a huge disappointment. The crab legs were rubbery, the seafood options were either overcooked or had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The only reason why I'm giving it two stars is because our waitress was so sweet. My MIL saw that it had high reviews on google and now I know why! They'll give you 5% off your bill if you leave them a good google review. The crab legs were abnormally salty. Crawlfish was extremely watery according to my husband.
