OK, so our first visit to the spot and we lucked out with the friendly and super helpful waitress in Brianna. As usual we decided to "graze" through the meal which means order, eat, order something else, eat ... until you look at each other and decide you're full and done with the meal. Of course, the first big decision is, "To wear it, or not?" I am of course talking about that big plastic bib that they put on the table for you. I decided to not worry about looking cool and tied the thing around my neck :-). We are eternal optimists and, therefore, had to order the New England clam chowder in hopes that we had found a good one in the AV region. Although we had to send it back to be served hotter, the bottom line here is that the clam chowder is delicious, rich, creamy, and not too thick with flour stodge. Well-balanced! Good start to the meal :-). By the way, although I don't bother adding the crackers to my clam chowder, I did decide to try the "house recipe" version they had and they were really quite delicious, surprising. Next it was on to the Garlic Noodles and, because somebody on Yelp said their order had been dry, we asked for plenty of sauce and cheese. The result? Not bad. We then jumped to share fish 'n chips (cod). The regular fries ordered crispy were delicious, and we both thought the cod was juicy and tasted good but could have had a better batter. When did this place stop accepting cash? I drove here to get my usual order and was very disappointed when I was trying to pay and they told me they are not accepting cash.. when did this change and why? Also they should install a tap to pay because I am waiting on my bank card to come in the mail but the card is connected to my phone so I can still pay as I go. So, we called to make a take out order last night, and were told we had to place it online. They would not take it by phone. We went through the whole online order to submit it and the order stated they would not take orders until 12 the next day. Our family shows up to dine in tonight, and we are turned away at 8:15, because they only do to-go orders after 8. Nothing states this online, on their door or when we called. The young man simply said, well, that's how it is. We spend hundred of dollars here each time we eat here, but two nights in a row they have treated us like garbage. So sad. We have never cared about they pay before you eat policy, or the extreme long wait for food. But I'm done supporting this business. read more

Our last two recent visits were disappointing. Our shrimp was overcooked (mushy), and for some reason on both occasions they were holding back on the amount of sauce they provided with the order. The last two times we've had to ask for additional sauce with our order, which they charge $2.50 for. They get two stars for great, attentive service. Came here for lunch the other day ordered the Captain's Choice Combo. We have been to the Bakerlocstion so figured since this is a chain it would all be the same. We were wrong. We walked in it was pretty empty maybe 1 other table being served, and were seated right away. We ordered and we're told we needed pay first before our food would be brought out to us. Our food was brought out in a tin pan not a crab boil bag so after a few minutes it was cold. 6 shrimps, literally 1 potato ,1 soggy piece of frozen corn, and lime... so much lime. The lobster was good and the crab was mostly shell. The server was nice but hardly seen her we waited like 10 minutes for a refill and couldn't quite get her attention again for another person to get a refill too. I took my family there for the firs time. It turned out to be a disappointment. Our chef had to ask our waitress two times for our appetizers that were supposed to have been brought to us before the lunch. Finally they were brought to us at the end of our meal. The waitress never came around to see if we needed anything else. The restroom was clean but two of the three stalls were not working. She also charged us for dinner prices instead of lunch prices. Wow where to start I've never had a seafood boil before so I called and a lady picked up and I explained somewhat of what I wanted it and she told me to come in the store and she could explain it better so I did. I've been to the Boiling Crab, Rockin Crawfish, etc. My husband and I were interested in this place (since it's the only place like this here in AV). Mind you, my husband is from Louisiana and he loves boils. What we got: - There was a deal $48 for 3 lbs: We got all shrimp with heads off (which has a $2 up charge per pound), 2 corns, quail eggs, sausages, & 1 potato. We also got the original Crab n Spice as our flavoring. Pros: - Customer service: The women that helped us were very nice and answered all of our questions in regards to the menu and pricing. - COVID-19: They do take out and dine in options. The people dining in were spread out throughout the establishment. All staff wear masks but, they do serve people who do not come in wearing a mask. Cons: - Lack of Flavor: Both my husband & I agree that it lacked flavor. It was a tad hot in spice but, fell flat for us in actual flavor in spices and such. Overall, I wouldn't go back.
