Casual fresh seafood classics. Service was a bit slow - our waiter was kind but slow (maybe new to the job or we caught him at a bad time). EXCELLENT fish chowder...probably the best I've ever had. Sure, in my book it could do with a bit less salt, but kudos for perfectly cooked, tender potatoes, fresh tasting pieces of fish, and savory tastes of wine and herbs. Bravo. Even reheated in a microwave ( I took home two bowls to enjoy at work ) - still delicious. The entree was "Haddock Oscar" - a very popular menu item. It is topped with a crab cake ( also popular here ). I asked for no Hollandaise, but some tarter or chowder instead for dipping. Our very kind and efficient server brought me tarter, remoulade, and a dish of chowder. YUM. Someone in the kitchen took the trouble to peel the asparagus ! They make their crab cakes with some cornbread, so they are sweet. While I prefer mine to consist almost entirely of crab meat...it was still tasty, and the remoulade added excellent kick. The Haddock was obviously fresh, a huge piece, perfectly cooked and topped with crispy bead crumbs...really superb. I always opt for a simple prep with very fresh fish. I could not believe the dish was only $13.99. No wonder they pack 'em in. ( Tourists and locals alike. ) We will definitely return on our next visit to the Cape. read more

We chose this place for breakfast and I'm so glad we did! This place is cute and the staff were super friendly. We ordered "The Big Skipper" which consisted of two pieces of banana bread French toast (unbelievable with hot syrup), two eggs sunny side up, two sausages, two pieces of bacon, potatoes and raisin bread. Went here for a late breakfast. Very close to where we were staying and we were seated right away with fast friendly service. By far the best breakfast I have had in a very long time...if not the best. Even better than the taste and atmosphere are the prices. My $9 meal included two full size blueberry pancakes (whole blueberries!), two scrambled eggs, two large sausages, two pieces of bacon, two pieces of toast and homefries. Even the coffee was good. My boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict over crab cakes which is an absolute must try. Will surely get that the next time we are out this way. read more

Enjoyed this place. Crab cakes were very good and the pastrami was excellent. It would have been better with a pickle as I realized it during my last few bites. Aw well it was my fault for not asking. My daughter had the chicken tenders and she enjoyed them. She's a finicky eater so these tenders were a hit. Well I think this is my new favorite breakfast place. Ever. In the world. It is small and, being the off season, was filled with locals who were ridiculously friendly and chatty with us. The staff was very kind and helpful. My husband had standard breakfast: eggs, toast, hashbrowns. He said it was all good. I had the special French toast which was blueberry bread French toast with a side of sausage. The French toast was the perfect balance of sweet and savory, no added syrup was needed - just a bit of butter. We were there just for brunch so we didn't get the sample the rest of the menu. I have the signature crabcake eggs Benedict and I thought the crab cake was a little on the sweet side which was weird to me. My honey be home made corn beef hash with eggs and home fries. The corn beef was delicious and you can taste the chunks of seasoned corn beef and I have to say the rye bread was amazing The price was really reasonable considering that it tourist town and everything was expensive. I'm going to preface my review by saying I probably ordered the wrong thing. But the fried seafood here needs work. The beer-battered fish was about a cm or less of fish surrounded on all sides by a cm of batter. The fried clams and scallops were less densely armored, but still more reminiscent of corn dogs than what you'd expect from a restaurant supposedly of this caliber. Probably I should have satisfied my fisherman's platter cravings at the Quarterdeck or something, or just come back in the summer when more classic spots are open. My friend's lobster roll looked good, though, and she uncharacteristically finished her fries, so I'm not going to go less than three stars, especially given that the other reviewers can't all have crappy taste. read more

I grew up in Falmouth, and Crabapple's was always a place we frequented for a comfort meal. Recently in town visiting, we made sure to stop by Crabapple's, where I enjoyed delicious Clam Chowder (...and I'm a Clam Chowder snob). Their pies looked excellent too, though we didn't have any. It is a smaller place, and I think they could use a few more staff; it took a while to seat our party of 6, even though there were plenty of open tables and I told the server we were willing to split up. The food was great, I had a breakfast sampler - breakfast potatoes were fantastic, blueberry pancakes were delicious. Others at our table had belgian waffle, cranberry walnut pancakes, & an omelette; all seemed delicious. Crabapple's is the best which is why their parking lot is always full. I am a local to the area and there are few restaurants that I frequent. Crabpples is open for B,L &D during out summer season so be alert to their schedule. The chef is also the owner and every dish is fantastic. My favorite breakfast is the Crabcake Benedict! Sunday breakfast was in dire need... Did some research on Yelp to find a reasonable priced breakfast, who took credit cards. From posts and reviews we decided to give a shot. When we arrived the parking lot was full (18-22 spots), so we ha to use the parking lot to the right of the restaurant, not a far walk. Up on entering (11:45AM Sunday) there was no line and we were greeted by the wait staff promptly. We were seated at a 4 person table in the middle of the restaurant but per our personal preference we asked to relocate to a two person further in. Without hesitation or question we were quickly relocated further in. Out waitress, within minutes greeted us with a friendly smile and took our drinks. Water with a side of lemons and coffee. Menu was average, not an abundance of different options but all basics were covered along with some specialties. Once the waitress returned with our drinks out order was taken. (Wife) grilled blueberry muffin, scrambled eggs and a side of sausage. (Me) clamcakes Benedict with a side of sausage. The waitress pointed out to my wife she would be better (pricewise) to order a combination instead of multiple sides. Food arrived hot off the oven, everything was cooked perfectly. Eggs were not watery, sausage was crisp on the out the outside, cooked through on the inside, grilled blueberry muffin was a pot on and the home fries were not too salty, seasoned to perfection and cooked properly. After serving our food, the follow up to ensure we were enjoying our meal and refill of our drinks was done adequately. Needless to say we cleaned our plates and enjoyed our meal. Our waitress dropped the bill at the table towards the end of our meal, with a "no rush" ..... We prefer this closing method. Total bill, $23 without tip, we included a 20% tip. Upon leaving, several of the wait staff wished us a happy holiday. The environment was quaint, a dreary day outside but inside was busy and cheerful. Business was not busy as there were 2-3 open tables. We would defiantly go back. read more

We visited for lunch and had a great experience. We ordered the Asian salad with grilled chicken, and the lobster slider which came with a cup of their fish chowda. Everything we ordered was very fresh. I felt that the food was plain and at times missing that extra umph that would elevate it to 5 stars. Fish chowda was served with oyster crackers, the soup was very creamy and had a good portion of fresh fish. The lobster slider was served on a grilled slider bun with a fresh lobster(mostly claw meat) classic lobster roll filling. The Asian salad was very fresh and the grilled chicken we added was perfectly cooked but barely seasoned, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and nice Asian noodles.
