    Outdoor dining!

9/24/22: Afternoon: A group of us went to the Greenpoint Maritime Festival. We decided to find a place to have lunch. All the restaurants were packed. We managed to find out door seating at Crabby Jerry's. You order food at a window. Think the prices are overboard for the quality of food. We had ordered tortilla chips, clam strips, and Mahi Mahi tacos. Food was just fair. Live music is performed in the evening. That afternoon, you could hear live music from across the way at Claudios. Lots of outdoor seating available. Crabby Jerry's is more of higher end, shore type hangout with a "Cool Bar" and "Stupendous Water Views".

Nice, outdoor seating and pet friendly. Parking is insane. Claudio's has 3 parts and the private parking in the back is packed. You have to stop at the attendant at the front of the spaces and pay them $10 to tell you where to park. The spot I got was tight but made it in. The food is excellent but very pricey. You're pretty much paying for the ambiance and seafood. All reasonable, in my opinion. My husband and I ordered: - 2 orders of fish and chips - 1 order lobster roll - dozen clams That was a whopping $110. This did NOT include the drinks we ordered. My parents ordered: - shrimp cocktail - 2 clam chowders - half dozen mussels - half dozen (cooked) clams - 1 lobster roll Their order was also $110, not including drinks. We just wanted to have a good time with great food. That's what we got. So it was definitely worth it. You order at a window and they give you a pager. When it goes off, you pick up at the window. Seating is easy to find, cuz with the type of food you get, you eat it then bounce. A plus: the restrooms are clean. Seems like they clean it after each use!

Live music on the water is always a good start. It's a walk up causal service and cash only. The food came out quickly and was fresh. My clams was not the best but pretty decent and my niece said the smash burger was delicious. Definitely would come back just for the ambience.

Came here after a couple of beers at Greenport Harbor and had a nice seat outside under the tent-like structure on the pier. This is the type of place where you place your order at the window and then get a buzzer so you can pick up your food when it's ready. We picked a table, checked out the menu and then I went up to order. It's fresh seafood so it's not cheap, but it was sure good. We had shrimp two ways (fried and boiled) and then each had a hot lobster roll. Shrimp was great and the portion sizes were good. The lobster roll was really great! Fried shrimp came with french fries, which were just so-so. The view and the ambiance were great. We were in the shade so even on a warm day, we were comfortable as there was a nice breeze off the water. A Rolling Stones cover band was jamming next door at Claudio's and we were able to enjoy that as well. I liked this place a lot and could easily spend an afternoon here listening to music and stuffing my face with seafood!

Beautiful views from this outdoor, order at the counter place. Not cheap and no service as you pick up your order yourself. I ordered a mahi mahi wrap and it was a bit on the bland side. My creamsicle alcoholic drink was less than frozen and didn't taste of much alcohol. The best part of the meal is definitely the views of the marina. Owen by Claudios, which was closed on this day.

I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 5 people. I originally wanted to eat at Claudio's Waterfront next door but the wait for a table was an hour so decided to come here. I'm actually glad we did because it was less crowded and the tables were more spread out (social distancing due to COVID-19 times). There was no wait for a table here. You order at the window in the front and they call you when your order is ready to pick it up. We all ordered lobster rolls. The lobster roll had a good amount of lobster in them and the lobster tasted fresh. It came with pickles, coleslaw, and a bag of chips. The bathroom was not clean though and during COVID-19 times, all places need to be clean. It was still really nice to eat on the pier over looking the water on a hot summer day though. I still prefer Claudio's but this place will do if there's a long wait.

So I now understand their 3 star rating. It's overpriced mediocre seafood. I can't say I didn't like my fish and chips but the quality and price don't match. Some in our party of 8 were unhappy with their food, others thought it was good. I'd say see for yourself since It's a nice waterfront location. The staff is amazing!! Everyone from the host/hostess that helps you get a table to the young people taking your order were amazing.

After having visited and thoroughly enjoyed the Stony Brook location multiple times, this was a…read morehighly disappointing experience. Popped in for a quick weekend lunch since they had visibly open tables and we were seated right away. The person who showed us to our table led the way, and then dropped menus and utensils in a booth and kept walking. As soon as we made our way through the small restaurant, the absolute filth of the place was the only thing I could focus on. There were food scraps and garbage littering almost every surface of the floor. Our own table had dirty napkins, crumbs and half spilled sugar packets underneath, and the bench needed a wipe down before I could sit. Condiments on the table were dirty and if you moved them, the table was covered with crumbs underneath so no one is moving the condiments to clean. The bathroom was equally disgusting and unkempt. Despite all signs pointing to that we should've left immediately, we were hungry and had been driving for awhile. The food/drink was nothing like the other locations we've visited. In my 20 years of ordering Mimosas, I have never before been asked if I wanted a single or a double. It's prosecco, not shots. I went for the single because my expectations were low, and was presented with a weird little lowball glass of pineapple juice and a jigger of prosecco. That is completely ridiculous to cut a serving in half and call it a "single". For $12 you can buy an entire decent bottle of prosecco, and probably at least three bottles of whatever cheap they're serving. It feels like a cheat not to get a full serving. I ordered the Bootlegger for my meal which is fried chicken, melted cheese, bacon and Russian dressing on a roll. It arrived on a tiny hamburger bun with no dressing. Our server came once to ask how everything was the moment the plates were set down, and left when I told her I hadn't tried it yet. It then took about 10 minutes to obtain a side of dressing once I noticed my sandwich was dry. It was edible, but definitely not worth ever having again. My husband ordered corned beef hash and eggs, which was a plate filled with boxed potato sprinkled with pieces of corned beef. Eggs were fine. We did not use any of the condiments since it was clear they hadn't been swapped out or cleaned, and really tried to get out of this dirty environment as fast as possible. Servers were all concentrated in the bar area, some on phones clearly not busy...so it makes one wonder why no one thought to sweep the floor or wipe down a table. The state of the dining room was truly disgusting and honestly surprising. Our server barely attended to us so we opted not to bring this complaint to her directly and judging by the demeanor of the other staff, there wasn't a manger on duty. The bigger problem here is that if the public-facing front of house can look that way, I can only imagine how the kitchen is kept. We will never return to this location and sincerely hope it can be brought up to the same standards as the others.

They pack in a lot of diners, so there's not much space, not even for strollers (which they also request you leave outside). We went to crazy beans after it came highly rec'd by our Southold friends. Lattes, fresh juices, lobster quesadillas, and a "morning meltdown" omelette (egg white/turkey/avo/spinach) rounded out our order. The star of the meal was the buttered and toasted SOURDOUGH. I asked our server if it's baked in-house or precured from elsewhere (and where?!), but they didn't know. Nor did they care to find out. I can't find it on their website either. But just make sure you try any of their breads. From the looks of their Yelp photos, all the breads look fresh and worth the carbs.

Twenty five years ago it was still Bruce's Café, aka Cheese Emporium, and I remember many a happy visit there with my mom and brother, for muffins, for scones, for cheeses, for brunches, and for the wonderful people who worked there. The bakery-style counter of muffins and scones is gone, and it's quite a different look these days, but the meals served by a new xrew of wonderful people lives up to the legacy granted in my memories. Ok, after that extended intro, let me tell you what we all ordered. I got the carrot "lox" sandwich, and I was truly surprised by how convincing the vegan lox was - before becoming a vegetarian I loved lox, and though the texture was a bit different (more tender than chewy) the taste was startling close. The fried egg was perfectly done and all the fixings - the whipped cream cheese, capers, dill - were excellent. DEVOURED. My dad is very old school and kind of didn't know what to do when he saw the menu, so knowing his tastes, I recommended the Savory Oats, and he was astonished with the dish he received. He all but licked the plate clean. My dad's girlfriend ordered the cheeseburger with the addition of bacon, and not only did they perfectly cook the burger to her preferences, the whole thing was as beautiful as it looked (if I wasn't a vegetarian). I think she may have left a lonely pickle slice or two on her plate. The girlfriend and I also both ordered the iced version of the "pep talk" beverage. It was a LITTLE sweeter than I would prefer and I would have liked a stronger fennel presence, but she adored it just as it was, so I was glad to have given her the idea. The service, from the host at the register, to the server who took our order and the additional staff who bussed the table, was excellent. It was a busy summer Friday and I was a bit worried because I was time-restricted thanks to needing to catch a train, but they were efficient and cordial while keeping the vibe laid-back in a way that seemed effortless (which I'm very sure it wasn't). The current prices might make it so that I couldn't patronize this establishmrnt as often as I did with Bruce's Café, but everything is so good and it has such a classy, elevated feel, it is worth every penny. Thank you to Bruce and Son and its wonderful staff for letting me experience both a lovely meal wrapped in bittersweet bittersweetly cozy memories.
