Crabbies Beachside took over Panama Hattie's. We LOVED them and were sad to see them close. So we decided to give Crabbies a chance. We ordered out instead of dining in due to weather And leaving the next day so we did not want a bunch of leftovers. We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer $14.99 and the boiled peel shrimp appetizer, and spinach artichoke crab dip. We asked how many shrimp come in the boiled hand peel half order for $16.99 Because the menu does not list how many come in the orders. The girl said 16. My husband picked up the food and returned back to our condo. There was 7 Boiled shrimp and 7 coconut shrimp. 7 shrimp for $16.99? That's $2.42 a shrimp!!! And don't say inflation when Sunset Grille a few yards down gives you 6 for $10.99. Highly disappointed in the amount for the price And they were not even that good. Reece is the best server! We dinned for the first time as this new restaurant and Reece Bull was our server. Reese accommodated us as we requested to move inside as the outside deck was a little too cold with the breeze. He happily sat us inside and set up the table for us. We asked for recommendations and he quickly assisted. Food was served quickly, lorge portions and Reece kept a check on us constantly to see if we needed anything. He is by far the best server I have had in some time at any restaurant. So ask for him and you will be well taken care of. read more

My wife and I had lunch here today, it was our first visit. We split an appetizer of Calamari, it was very good. The calamari was tender without too much breading. We also split an order of fish and chips, it was also very good. The service was fine. We sat on the top deck with a nice view of the ocean and pier. Overall I'd recommend trying Crabby's. read more

Crabby's Beachside is just ok. The view from the top deck is nice but the food was just ok. 3 of the 5 people in our party ordered crab legs and they were meaty and tasted great but were very pricey, even by crab leg standards. The other 2 people ordered shrimp and it was average. One of our shrimp meals was accidentally taken to another table so 4 of us had food while the other didn't have his meal until we were almost finished. That was after waiting almost an hour for our food in the first place. We also ordered key lime pie for dessert based on the menu saying it was award winning, it was not... I definitely would not go back, there are plenty of great restaurants in St. Augustine that have better food and service for half the price. read more

Only reason it's a two star is because the one new bartender at the downstairs was nice and patient. The other bar tender that came to join her seemed like she was on drugs and out of it. We have been living here for the past 8 years and recently we saw that there was a new restaurant in town, so we decided to try it. It ended in a disaster, I got the mussels and it tasted like they dumped a bottle of wine into it and the cocktails were like a juice box. The food was ok. A bit hit and miss. The onion rings would have been great, real onions sliced thin and breaded, but they were fried in oil where you could taste that fish had been fried in the same oil. My Chicken tacos were good. They even made them with grilled chicken instead of fried chicken when I asked. Our server was very nice and accommodating. We had a large group of 10 and unfortunately one of our entrées did not come out with the others. It was a long delay until it came to the table, but the restaurant made it right by comping that entree. The ambience was great and what you would expect from a beach restaurant. I've been to this location twice and do I have to say the service here is phenomenal, I am a chef at Panda Express and a few things I can say is the hospitality and the food are impeccable. Fran was my server my first visit and he was a joy to talk to and a great employee was on top of everything and gave a great conversation. And man the boss man Mike is a god a customer service, this time I ordered to go and there was a slight mess up on one item but mike had my back. Not only did he fix it he made my visit with his great attitude and high standard highly recommended this place to anyone in saint augustine area. Definitely coming again. read more

Do not under any circumstances eat at this restaurant. They served oysters with a LIVING CRAB parasite crawling in the shell (see video). The server and surrounding patrons were shocked, while the manager offered no apology. Unacceptable. read more
