We visited with a party of 15 Connecticut Yankees celebrating birthdays. We imbibed both serious and virgin drinks, all were happy. Nicole, our server checked with us often and the manager stopped by once also. Everyone commented on the high quality of their food. Overall an okay experience probably more like a 3.5, not sure I can justify a 4. Not spectacular. Took a while for a server to acknowledge us after we sat (although once we did get a server she was very lovely and attentive) The portions seemed rather small for the price (I get it we're in a tourist town...) but the sides could have been more substantial, in particular the coconut rice (although really good) was like maybe 4 forks full, it was a tiny portion. The good part is they were open late. This is why we chose them. Most every thing else unfortunately was closed when we arrived in town :) Also they were out of key lime pie, which they told us after we ordered it. No big deal we get it but would have loved to try it. Came in on a rainy Sunday. Restaurant was clean and bright. We sat immediately and ordered some sweet tea. After reviewing the menu we asked our server Rachel and she helped us make our final decision. Rachel's explanation of each item was absolutely perfect! The conch fritter (which was part of the Key West Combo) was absolutely DELICIOUS. My husband sampled the clam chowder and said it IS the best clam chowder he has ever had. Everything was great. Very sloppy experience, I stopped in for lunch at 3pm and the place was almost empty. I was seated and never approached by a server so I walked up to the hostess to place an order myself. However, I gave this visit a 4/5 stars due to the poor customer service from the moment we checked in for our reservation. The check-in desk barely mumbled to go to another desk. I went to where I thought he pointed to. Two girls were there discussing something about the register. One had her back to the line and me. When she finally turned around, she looked at me and said, "What!" I had not even said a word. She pointed me to a door and said go up stairs. This was our first time here, so navigating the bare minimum directions was difficult. Once we had our food, we had to wait for silverware. This was from St. Patrick's day when we were looking for a last minute place to eat and we got lucky as there were seats open at the bar but either way the wait would not have been long, 20 minutes, for a table. The bartenders were so nice and helpful, eight hand food and drinks coming out quick even though they were super busy. The inside and outside eating are were nice and open. The food was all very good and came out hot. My crab roll was delicious with the bread part being soft and toasted. First time here , depending on the seating, the view is great. Our waitress was okay. But let's talk bout the food. The fish and chips were okay, I personally think the batter needs to be seasoned. But the crunch was there. The shrimp tacos was ( boom boom favor ) but sauce on the side and 10/10 . I would definitely order this again. The crunch fritters was okay, first batch was burnt but they replaced it, I would rate it a 6/10. Mac and cheese was okay, 7/10. And oysters was decent. Went for seafood crabs and live music specifically.We got there we were told it's only first available for inside outside. Ok fine it was busy they need to move tables and we took our chances to hear live music. . Got indoor and couldn't hear the music. We ordered Jonah crabs on the seasonal menu. Got them and both opened our first claw. they were FOUL and we paused. They were so bad the smell would not leave our hands even after lemon and washing after three times. Rancid. We quietly got the manager who acknowledged the smell with a face and apologized and got us a menu for another order. We went with Baired (sp?) crabs and while more costly they were great. The bill at end said "no like" for the credit of the Jonah crabs and everything was billed normally. We understand things happen which is why we were quiet and respectful for those around us but I am in the service industry and there could have been something to acknowledge the experience even if small. Crabby's is an excellent dining establishment! It is a double-decker restaurant/bar with a tremendous outdoor second-floor patio/deck with an ocean view. The staff was not just terrific but also incredibly accommodating. Johnny and Heather were personal, approachable, and friendly. They spoke to us like they had known us their entire lives, making us feel right at home. The food and drinks, including various seafood dishes and tropical cocktails, were terrific. The view was breathtaking, and the vibe was on! The patios were both positioned for sun and shade. The front bottom patio possessed a pleasant landscape right in front of it. The atmosphere and vibe were "Beachy," just what we sought. The inside bar and restaurant also had a vibe with a screen and beachy decor. We missed the happy hour, and apparently, it's a good one; starting at 8 AM, breakfast and bloody's, and they go all day, a great spot for vacationers that want to time travel. They have live music on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and most Sundays! We certainly plan to visit again and explore their sister concepts as well! read more

Family beach house weekend down from Crabby's so took the family to give them a try. Short walk and we were playing corn hole and moving to the live music while taking in the pleasant spring beach breeze. We gathered at a large table and began our family meal. Check in on the app offered a IPA so knew it was going to be a good visit. Our server was a young guy who was friendly and prompt on service. I had the fish and chips, which were light and tender within a delightful panko breading. It came with fries and a side of cream corn which I love and is rarely offered. We sat on the upper deck and stayed super toasty with their heaters. Enjoyed looking down at some people playing cornhole. They also have giant jenga! There was live music- just very chill typical guitar/singing. The gator nuggets were great. Spicy marg was not good but they exchanged it for a reg marg which was good. The baby back ribs with steamed shrimp was not impressive. Fries were awesome though. I always enjoy dining at Crabys Beachside after a lomg day by the ocean. I started out with one of my favorites, fried gator. It always hits the spot, especially with their signature side sauce! We went to St. Augustine for New Year's this year to enjoy the weather, fireworks, tours of old town, Nights of Lights, and other festivities. We stayed at a condo of off Pier Point South and picked Crabbys Beachside for dinner since it was just across the street on A1A. We sat at the bar to get a good view of the football games on the TVs and were impressed with the great food and drinks poured by Garrett. The next night we were going to try another place but it was more crowded so we went back to Crabbys, and were more than satisfied again with Garrett. The third night we came back from an excursion late since it was so close and had Evan at the bar who didn't disappoint us at all. Finally the four night, New Year's eve we decided to return to what had served us well so far and had Evan and Chelsea at the bar and they topped off our culinary trip with great drinks and food once again. Over the four nights at Crabbys we we had gator nuggets, calamari, mahi tacos, gouda cheese grits, house salad, and boom boom shrimp...all were delicious and plentiful. We finished off our trip to St. Augustine with a final stop at Crabbys New Years morning to snag a T-shirt and say farewell! We will be back! read more

This place is absolutely fantastic! Service and food were amazing! We spent four days in St. Augustine and had a meal here each day. Very kid friendly. My favs were the fried grouper sandwich and the the Key West platter. Gouda Grits were crazy good! Breakfast was amazing as well. Kids loved the Belgian waffles, and the Eggs Benedict were perfect! If you have dinner and come back for breakfast the next day, they give you 15% off. Make sure you save your receipts from the night before. Highly recommend! read more

Went for lunch on a day trip to St. Augustine, and found Crabby's across the street from pier . I had the Boom Boom tacos they were yummy, although a little spicy for me ( could only eat 2 out of the 3 ). Wife had the stuffed flounder and she really enjoyed it . Mom had coconut shrimp and it was also yummy. Really liked that they had an outdoor upstairs patio and cornhole games street level, I could see hanging out here after a day of surfing. We had one mix up and Mom got Boom Boom shrimp instead of coconut shrimp, but the server took care right away, and didn't charge up for the mix up !! My wife and I loved eating lunch here! The restaurant is roomy with both indoor and outdoor seating available. We enjoyed the decor. The material on my booth seat appeared to be flaking, so hopefully they repair that soon. The booth was large and very comfortable. Our server was excellent. I'm sorry her name didn't print out on the receipt. We shared the Oysters 3 ways, and I will say these were the freshest, most tender oysters I've ever had. Each of the 3 different styles were delicious and we were glad we decided to do this to sample all of them instead of ordering one specifically and receiving all 12 of the same type. I had the Bairdi Crab and am not joking when I say how tender and fresh it tasted. We opted to have it fire roasted instead of steamed and highly recommend you do the same! This way it comes with a dusting of old bay spice which just adds to the overall yumminess. My wife loved the grilled shrimp on skewers. I tasted one and was very pleased with the spices and flavor. The parking lot seems ample and the location is awesome if you want to go for a walk on the beach before or after.
