    wicked eggs benedict

Great food, ordered the wicked chicken Benedict. The eggs were poached with a perfectly runny yolk. Fried chicken was crispy yet juicy and flavorful. Service was quick and efficient. Outdoor patio was a great seating option for a sunny day.

The food and drinks were awesome! I loved getting this little platter because I got to taste the chicken, eggs, potatoes, and waffles and everything was perfect! The chicken had so much flavor and the waffle was so fluffy and perfect with butter! Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food.

    Fatima's Shakshuka, Fried Chicken Benedict

Came here for brunch and was pleasantly surprised by how filling and quick everything was. It's pretty small inside but they also offer outdoor seating. We ordered the fried chicken benedict and shakshuka. The fried chicken benedict was really good and came with a generous amount of hollandaise and hot sauce. The hot sauce added a nice kick without being too spicy. It also comes with a side of potatoes, which were super filling and made the meal feel like a lot of food. The shakshuka was also solid and comes with a huge side of hummus and pita. You can ask for a refill on the pita if you need more, which was nice because there was plenty of sauce to scoop up. Overall, good portions and a satisfying brunch spot if you're in the Marina. Would definitely come back to try some of their other brunch options.

I recently visited Cracked & Battered for brunch and tried the chicken and waffles along with the chicken tacos. The chicken and waffles were the highlight of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the waffles. The chicken tacos were also enjoyable and packed with good flavor. The restaurant has a simple, casual atmosphere that keeps the focus on the food. While the meal itself was satisfying, I was disappointed with the service. The staff did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. Overall, the food was definitely the strong point of the visit, especially the chicken and waffles. If you're looking for a tasty brunch spot, it's worth trying, though the service could use some improvement.

This is hands down the best brunch I've ever had and I'm so sad I don't live close. We were seated quickly even though it was busy- it's not a huge restaurant but it still didn't feel cramped which we appreciated. We tried the breakfast burrito and the sampler. One person in our party deemed these the best potatoes they've had. Everything here was a hit and you got quite a bit of food for the price. Highly highly recommend.

We have been to this location many times and it just keeps getting better! We love the CB Plate. It has everything you need-- chicken and waffles, eggs and potatoes!! Get their fresh squeezed orange juice! It was delicious. It get busy so come early! I've said this before but please open for dinner!!!!!!!

First off, holy portions. When we came here, we hadn't eaten anything all morning and were going to be busy traveling all day so we needed something that'd fill us up until 4pm at least (got there at 9:30am). These needs were more than sufficiently met. As for service, they were super quick, we were sat within seconds, then you order & pay via QR code at your table, and then food came out within 10 minutes after placing the order, so super quick turnaround for ordering yourself. Staff are sure to tend to you throughout your meal, checking on refills and any needs. Smooth order process, friendly staff, and great food.

Absolutely delicious meal. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. You can scan a QR code to order and pay right from your phone which is convenient. Service was fast even when all the tables were full I ordered the C&B plate, which is $22 without taxes or tip. The chicken was fried nicely and was quite juicy, definitely not dry at all (I think they use boneless thigh meat). Waffles were fluffy and paired nicely with the syrup and butter. You can order the eggs scrambled, over medium, or over hard. I went with over medium and it had a nicely flowy yolk. The potatoes really stood out to me because they were crispy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. I've had experiences at other places where the potatoes become soggy, but not at this place. And they were seasoned perfectly Overall, I'd rate this meal an 8.5/10. Pretty on par pricing for the Bay Area/SF for a delicious and filling meal. Would definitely come back and try more items

No bacon! But you probably figured that out, it's a nice clean atmosphere, us five guys ran in and plopped down for morning protein before redwoods. Got great service, decent menu, I only needed coffee and ditched for down the block my friend discovering his latte here wasn't worth it unless all other options closed. Chicken and waffles, eggs, pancakes, and no complaints; they finished I quickly hardly a crumb left by time I returned with a coffee. Prices are the usual city, double what we are used to in Indiana but eggs are a rare commodity in Cali!

Small space off Chestnut. They do turn over tables fast. The waitress was nice and helpful. I went for peppermint tea and the spinach-onion-feta omelette. The omelette was stuffed with fillings and was super tasty. The plate came with an orange and english muffin. A few notes .. the spinach would have been better if it was chopped before it was wilted. The loose leaf tea was $9 .. ouch!!!! I am also so done with QR code menus.

    Breakfast Burrito

The food and service are both 10 out of 10. Best halal breakfast in town. We visited from LA for Labor Day and got the chicken burrito. We went in person one day, i told the owner we will come back tomorrow. We ended up just getting Uber Eats the next day cause of our new born but even delivered food tasted amazing. Exceptional halal food better than any halal breakfast I have had in LA or Houston.

We visited Cracked & Battered on a Thursday around 12:30 PM, and when we arrived there were a lot of people waiting outside. Once we got on the waitlist, the estimate was about 30 minutes. While we waited, we walked around and did a little shopping since there are some cute stores nearby. We came back about five minutes before our wait time was up and were seated within the next 10 minutes. The owner is super friendly and funny -- he really made us feel welcomed right away. It's also really easy to order here. Once you sit down, there's a QR code at the table where you can order and even pay ahead of time, and the food is brought straight out to you. Before we even asked, two waters were already placed at our table, which was such a plus. The inside is pretty small and can feel a little cramped depending on where you sit, but honestly the vibe and the food make up for it. Our food also came out very quickly. There was a small mix-up with my eggs -- I ordered scrambled and got over-medium -- but they fixed it right away and even let me keep both, which I really appreciated. We ordered the C&B plate and it was SO good. The chicken was super tender and easy to cut. The waffles were the perfect bite-size (though I still cut them in half), the strawberries were fresh, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. It really felt like the perfect breakfast plate. I also got an iced coffee with vanilla and it was very smooth and delicious. Overall, I had a great experience here. The food was amazing, the service was kind and welcoming, and despite the small space, I would 100% come back and try something new next time. Highly recommend!

    Chicken & Waffles
    Antonius B.

Attentive and friendly staff, clean and open spot in the Marina district. I ordered chicken and waffles, the chicken was a crispy and lightly breaded boneless thigh and the waffle was a perfectly crispy and light Belgian waffle. The food was hot, chicken was juicy and the waffle melts in your mouth. I wish they had more hot sauce options, but other than that, this place is solid.

From the very beginning, Val was incredibly kind, responsive, and organized. She answered every question we had and guided us through the planning process with patience and professionalism. Our family and friends had a wonderful time, and everyone complimented the food, drinks, and beautiful venue. The patio space created such a warm, welcoming, and intimate atmosphere that was perfect for celebrating with our loved ones. The brunch menu was outstanding. Every dish was delicious, from the mac & cheese, fried chicken sandwiches, and meatballs to the calamari mixto, French toast, fruit and berries, charcuterie selection, sommelier's cheese selection, little gem salad, avocado toast, and scrambled eggs with potatoes. There was something for everyone, and every plate was enjoyed. The reservation system was a bit odd with no designated time slots, but rather you put in a time yourself online. The system turned out to not work very well as I originally booked a spot for 2 at 11am and then had to call to move it to 11:40am (weird time). Turns out when we got there, my name or a close spelling of it was on the list for 12:40pm. This wasn't a big deal to me since it's easy to mishear on the phone so we moved on from that. The restaurant was decently booked and we sat inside. Now for what my partner and I ordered! Unfortunately nothing called to me strongly so I went with the very basic choice of 2 eggs plate with ciabatta toast and rainbow potatoes. I added in chicken sausage for $3. 5/10: The toast was unbuttered and honestly tasted stale. The potatoes were nice and crispy, but unsalted and quite plain. The eggs were nice, I got mine scrambled. Sausages were okay, I think I actually ended up with the pork sausages rather than chicken. My plate was $26 and I can confidently say it is not worth close to that unfortunately. Brussel Florentine Benedict 6/10: My partner was intrigued by the ton yum hollandaise sauce. There was a hint of it which was nice. Benedicts were okay, nothing special. Coconut oat matcha 8/10: On the sweeter side, but enjoyable! I liked the toasted coconut pieces on top and thought it was a nice drink. Premium matcha wise, I don't agree necessarily, but hey it was an enjoyable drink. Drip coffee 0/10: My partner loves a drip coffee and not in a snobby way. From diner coffee to honestly plain old regular slightly brunt coffee, thats her jam. This coffee was just burnt. Not sure what happened but it was $5 for a completely bitter cup of burnt coffee. Not great. Fun side note: As we were ordering the table next to us called attention to their dish as their waffle was completely undercooked and tasted bitter. The wait staff was apologetic about it, but seemed to either not understand or insist it was "too sweet" not undercooked or bitter. The table was very polite about it so honestly it was not the best look for the restaurant. It was simply feedback and I don't believe it was taken very well. Regardless, just a fun note to throw in! We will not be back unfortunately. There are many lovely brunch spots and restaurants around the city and sadly I don't think this one is worth a try just because of the cost for the quality, but I always tell myself its always worth to try in case you do think differently!

I suspect its been intentionally watered down to be palatable to milquetoast palettes. We ordered three small plates and the butter chicken as the main. Chicken Tikka Taco. This was greasy to the touch, with chicken and cheese. The dominate flavor is the cheddar cheese. They were trying to be creative but the ultimate effect was similar to a frozen burrito with cheddar cheese and chile verde. If you eat this, close your eyes and imagine a microwaved, frozen burrito..you'll see what I mean. Tandoori Avocado. This features an avocado that's been warmed and covered in a chili sauce. There's a green hummus and a fried dosa crisp. While it sounds wild, once the flavors are mixed together on the plate...the overall effect is that of a green-goddess salad. It's not bad, but its not mind bending. Octopus Xec Xec. The octopous was was cooked nicely and there was a tomato based sauce. Unlike something you'd find in India, it is _not_ heavy on the spices, or tang, or nuttiness. It's just very _neutral_. Butter Chicken. This was the biggest disappointment. I've never had a butter chicken curry that tasted so close to tomato soup in my life. I've eaten tons of butter chicken in my life, hundreds of Indian restaurants. I cannot imagine this was not an intentional choice...It was extremely disappointing. Also, the choice to use chicken breast was poor. Inevitably you get overcooked, chewy chicken pieces. They must have chosen this because (like Disneyland) sometimes you water things down to make it more popular with less adventurous people. The customers next to us (not Indian) kept slathering it on their rice and saying "I can't believe I didn't use to like Indian food!" -- that told me all I needed to know. BTW the naan is insanely bad. They stretched it very thin and then crisped it to the point that it breaks like a cracker. In what world is naan not pillowy and soft? Personally, I was really disappointed with this experience -- the other reviews on yelp are absolute insanity IMO. I know there's a hype train right now -- but someday people will realize this place is not it.

We were seated promptly, and our server Joan was amazing! We only ordered two things from the menu, but both were spectacular. We started with the Caprese salad, and everything tasted so fresh. The tomatoes and mozzarella were perfect, and I loved the arugula and dressing on top. Simple, fresh, and delicious. To share, we got the Bartender pizza, and wow, it was so good! The crust was perfectly crispy, and the marinara tasted fresh and homemade. The menu mentions that the chilies are spicy, but honestly, we didn't find them very spicy at all. Either way, the flavors were on point and we really enjoyed it. Overall, we had such a positive experience. Great food, great service, and such a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy a summer day while people watching on Chestnut Street. Definitely a place I would recommend when you're hanging out in the Marina!

We will keep coming back. Tip: I wish they'd feature a true NYC style very crispy pizza. Don't get me wrong, their pizzas are great. But a NYC pizza would make it over the top.
