Wonderful experience and AMAZING FOOD. The best chicken and waffles we've ever had. Very thoughtful and attentive staff as well.

We have been to this location many times and it just keeps getting better! We love the CB Plate. It has everything you need-- chicken and waffles, eggs and potatoes!! Get their fresh squeezed orange juice! It was delicious. It get busy so come early! I've said this before but please open for dinner!!!!!!!

No bacon! But you probably figured that out, it's a nice clean atmosphere, us five guys ran in and plopped down for morning protein before redwoods. Got great service, decent menu, I only needed coffee and ditched for down the block my friend discovering his latte here wasn't worth it unless all other options closed. Chicken and waffles, eggs, pancakes, and no complaints; they finished I quickly hardly a crumb left by time I returned with a coffee. Prices are the usual city, double what we are used to in Indiana but eggs are a rare commodity in Cali!

Absolutely delicious meal. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. You can scan a QR code to order and pay right from your phone which is convenient. Service was fast even when all the tables were full I ordered the C&B plate, which is $22 without taxes or tip. The chicken was fried nicely and was quite juicy, definitely not dry at all (I think they use boneless thigh meat). Waffles were fluffy and paired nicely with the syrup and butter. You can order the eggs scrambled, over medium, or over hard. I went with over medium and it had a nicely flowy yolk. The potatoes really stood out to me because they were crispy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. I've had experiences at other places where the potatoes become soggy, but not at this place. And they were seasoned perfectly Overall, I'd rate this meal an 8.5/10. Pretty on par pricing for the Bay Area/SF for a delicious and filling meal. Would definitely come back and try more items

the staff are really nice, we came at 1:35pm on a Saturday and they close at 2pm but still took us in and served us. this location is much smaller than the potrero hill location so it gets lined up much more easily. food is equally good! their potatoes are really good, crispy outside and soft inside. we tried the memphis burrito (a really hefty burrito) and the fried chicken benedict, I liked the latter more but the former is great if you're really hungry

Small space off Chestnut. They do turn over tables fast. The waitress was nice and helpful. I went for peppermint tea and the spinach-onion-feta omelette. The omelette was stuffed with fillings and was super tasty. The plate came with an orange and english muffin. A few notes .. the spinach would have been better if it was chopped before it was wilted. The loose leaf tea was $9 .. ouch!!!! I am also so done with QR code menus.

We visited Cracked & Battered on a Thursday around 12:30 PM, and when we arrived there were a lot of people waiting outside. Once we got on the waitlist, the estimate was about 30 minutes. While we waited, we walked around and did a little shopping since there are some cute stores nearby. We came back about five minutes before our wait time was up and were seated within the next 10 minutes. The owner is super friendly and funny -- he really made us feel welcomed right away. It's also really easy to order here. Once you sit down, there's a QR code at the table where you can order and even pay ahead of time, and the food is brought straight out to you. Before we even asked, two waters were already placed at our table, which was such a plus. The inside is pretty small and can feel a little cramped depending on where you sit, but honestly the vibe and the food make up for it. Our food also came out very quickly. There was a small mix-up with my eggs -- I ordered scrambled and got over-medium -- but they fixed it right away and even let me keep both, which I really appreciated. We ordered the C&B plate and it was SO good. The chicken was super tender and easy to cut. The waffles were the perfect bite-size (though I still cut them in half), the strawberries were fresh, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. It really felt like the perfect breakfast plate. I also got an iced coffee with vanilla and it was very smooth and delicious. Overall, I had a great experience here. The food was amazing, the service was kind and welcoming, and despite the small space, I would 100% come back and try something new next time. Highly recommend!

Attentive and friendly staff, clean and open spot in the Marina district. I ordered chicken and waffles, the chicken was a crispy and lightly breaded boneless thigh and the waffle was a perfectly crispy and light Belgian waffle. The food was hot, chicken was juicy and the waffle melts in your mouth. I wish they had more hot sauce options, but other than that, this place is solid.

Cracked & Battered is definitely a trendy spot and it was very busy when I visited. The vibe is fun and casual, and I can see why it's popular. The menu has a lot of variety and the food was good, but honestly, it didn't stand out enough for me to want to go back. If you're in the area and want to check out a trendy brunch spot, it's fine, just expect it to be busy.

an amazing restaurant and with the most helpful staff! came to san francisco for a little vacation and we were starving from the drive and my friend who lives here recommended it to us. i ordered the fried chicken sandwich with french fries. the fries were delicious especially with some ketchup. probably some of the best fries i've ever had. the chicken sandwich as well was amazing! my friend wasn't a fan of the sauce that he got with his order so i took it from him and i'm so glad i did! i think it was some sort of aioli but with the sandwich it compliments it so well. the chicken really was crispy and the coleslaw it comes with was really good as well. the vibes were also nice since it was more like brunch times. definitely would recommend this place as someone that isn't a local.

Stopped by on a Sunday at 10:30, there was only a quick 10 minute wait for 3. Ordering was on a QR code at the table which was nice because we all easily paid our own tabs at the end. Food came out quickly! The restaurant itself is pretty small but has a good seating capacity considering the size. The actual food I wasn't too impressed, but it was not bad either. Would come back, but not in any hurry to do so!

Happening spot on Chestnut street with locals and tourists waiting for tables. Not much of a beverage section but their food is fresh and tasty. The service wasn't very organized with one of our orders being totally lost. Our server never checked on us so he didn't know about the missing order until we asked. I also overheard other customers asking for missing items. To top things off you have to pay inside but nobody ever brings you a check! Regardless the food is still good here, just stay on top of service so things don't take forever.

    Nasi Goreng
    Jackie D.

Came here for brunch and tried the Nasi Goreng which was fried rice with scrambled eggs and fried chicken. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. Everything on the plate worked together really well and felt like real comfort food done right. Service was friendly and the place had a relaxed, casual vibe. Just a heads-up: they don't serve alcohol since it's a halal restaurant, but the food more than makes up for it. 10/10 would recommend, especially if you're looking for something different from the usual brunch fare.

The person who states "This is most likely the best restaurant in the world" has to be beyond sheltered; It's not even the best restaurant in the _neighborhood_. The main thing you must understand: the food is "inspired" by Indian food, but it does _not_ taste like Indian food. I suspect its been intentionally watered down to be palatable to milquetoast palettes. We ordered three small plates and the butter chicken as the main. Chicken Tikka Taco. This was greasy to the touch, with chicken and cheese. The dominate flavor is the cheddar cheese. They were trying to be creative but the ultimate effect was similar to a frozen burrito with cheddar cheese and chile verde. If you eat this, close your eyes and imagine a microwaved, frozen burrito..you'll see what I mean. Tandoori Avocado. This features an avocado that's been warmed and covered in a chili sauce. There's a green hummus and a fried dosa crisp. While it sounds wild, once the flavors are mixed together on the plate...the overall effect is that of a green-goddess salad. It's not bad, but its not mind bending. Octopus Xec Xec. The octopous was was cooked nicely and there was a tomato based sauce. Unlike something you'd find in India, it is _not_ heavy on the spices, or tang, or nuttiness. It's just very _neutral_. Butter Chicken. This was the biggest disappointment. I've never had a butter chicken curry that tasted so close to tomato soup in my life. I've eaten tons of butter chicken in my life, hundreds of Indian restaurants. I cannot imagine this was not an intentional choice...It was extremely disappointing. Also, the choice to use chicken breast was poor. Inevitably you get overcooked, chewy chicken pieces. They must have chosen this because (like Disneyland) sometimes you water things down to make it more popular with less adventurous people. The customers next to us (not Indian) kept slathering it on their rice and saying "I can't believe I didn't use to like Indian food!" -- that told me all I needed to know. BTW the naan is insanely bad. They stretched it very thin and then crisped it to the point that it breaks like a cracker. In what world is naan not pillowy and soft? Personally, I was really disappointed with this experience -- the other reviews on yelp are absolute insanity IMO. I know there's a hype train right now -- but someday people will realize this place is not it.

We made reservations just in case which is a good call, even though for 5pm opening, as otherwise you'll be seated at the bar. We got the breaking bread, octopus and sujuk, lamb chops, and warm irmik helvase cobbler. For drinks we had Saturnalia and shepherd's pipes. The breaking bread is a must get item as it is a giant pita bread with a variety of spreads which all make it so wonderful. The octopus and sujuk is fairly unique, kind of like a carpaccio. The lamb chops were okay - a bit small for the price. The cobbler is fairly hearty and sweet The cocktails are pretty delicious, especially the Saturnalia which is fairly aesthetic and had a milky aftertaste. The shepherd's pipes were a bit watered down. Service is okay - it takes some time to fulfill our requests but understandable as it was a bit busy

The decor was minimal and nice, and definitely felt like a more upscale lunch spot. A majority of the group ordered the chicken sandwich which everyone said was delicious! The duck and steak frites were also a highlight for the group. I got the BLT croissant sandwich, which was tasty but I honestly didn't love their fries. The portions were huge and overall we were happy with our lunch! Service was phenomenal and they navigated serving a large party well. Even on a random Wednesday there were a ton of customers. I definitely want to come back for dinner and to try more of their menu items.

The lady servicing water kept coming to do refills - without me asking - that's incredible service for a small place with limited staff. The duck confit exceeded my expectations. I loved the bread and butter. The Salmon was rare and very tasty . The cauliflower was well flavored and mixed very well with the other ingredients. We didn't have enough room for dessert - I will come back to try the French onion soup and mussels in white wine.
