Located in the heart of Connecticut Avenue, I give you probably the best breakfast sandwich I've had in a very long time. It's so good that I went two days back to back. I originally found this place on TikTok, therefore, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. The customer service is amazing with friendly staff throughout your entire visit. We ordered The Mayor, The Abe Foreman, Garlic Parm Tots, and the French toast sticks. It was all amazing. Of course the winning topping is the crackery sauce which is pictured on my Mayor sandwich. The bread is another great thing about this place. It's so light, buttery, fluffy and with a hint of sweetness that compliments the saltiness of the egg, bacon, and the sauce. The tater tots were like pringles, "I bet you can't just eat one." Finally, the French toast sticks were okay but I'm also a Belgian waffle kind of gal. My boyfriend who is a fanatic said they were okay. Not really sweet even with the powdered sugar on top. He said they were more egg-y than anything. But they were still decent enough for everyone to try. I just think French Toast is one of those foods where everyone has their own preference. We will definitely be back for a third time VERY soon. I definitely give this place a five out of five! I'm in love! Did I mention, actually three days in a row? The first time we didn't know they had holiday hours so they closed earlier than the times posted. It didn't stop us the second or third day. Speaks volumes as we love 40 min away! I stopped by the food truck this morning and ordered the Inigo Montoya (chorizo, pepperjack cheese, arugula, and fried egg). The sandwich was flavorful and a big portion...which I love. Ordered via the online system for the Cracked Eggery food truck. Arrived when the "time to pickup" triggered. Greeted with a bad attitude and a, "it'll be another 20 minutes" comment. Fair enough... left for 20 minutes, and came back. As soon as I arrived, was told yet again that it would "be another 15 minutes at least." Asked if that was really an accurate timeframe, given the prior 20 minutes delay, and the owner/manager leaned down from the truck to get in my face - in a pandemic! - and said that, "if you don't like it, then cancel." I canceled. Life is too short to deal with terrible folks with worse personalities. Will never order from Cracked Eggery again. read more

On 12/19, my daughter and I visited and had a very uncomfortable experience. A customer, who had recently visited in person, returned to obtain the bottle of water he'd purchased with his meal but never received. The customer explained that the bottle wasn't in his to-go bag. Apparently, the restaurant's MO is to place drinks--even those intended for to-go orders--on top of the counter, away from the register. After the customer received the bottle of water, he offered a suggestion, something along the lines of "you might want to consider placing the entire order in the bag so that you don't have incidents like this." The manager/owner didn't accept the suggestion well. He made a face that the customer noticed, and the customer questioned the negative reaction, noting that he's only offering a suggestion. After the customer left, the manager/owner did something entirely unprofessional. He mocked the customer. Another staff member or perhaps co-owner responded, "I don't know why that guy is telling me how to run my business." It was very awkward to hear them disparaging the customer, who had valid point. But even if he hadn't why talk about your customer that way? Especially within hearing of other customers. It's unfortunate that these two guys were arrogant and dismissive. Definitely not a customer-service oriented eatery. And the food is so-so. Nothing truly special. If you're going to spend $35 (1 egg sandwich, 1 egg bowl, small coffee, and can of sparkling water) on a quick bite, there are far better places to go nearby. read more

Came here on a snowy day hoping this food was worth it snd it definitely was. The food was so filling thatI couldn't even eat it all. The french toast sticks and the garlic parm fries were the highlight of this restaurant for me but they are more known for their sandwiches. I can't remember the name of the sandwich I specifically got but it had sausage bacon and egg on it. The sandwich was great but because I'm from jersey I am a little biased in my breakfast sandwiches. Overall great place and a great atmosphere. Food was really good, but I'm taking off two stars for the extremely rude staff person who was so unpleasant I will never come back to this place. My sister and I both got coffee so I brought the pitcher of creamer to our table so we could put it in our coffee. We were just planning to use it and put it right back on the coffee station. Before my sister was even able to take the lid off her coffee cup, this guy who works there yanked it off our table without even asking us if we were using it. I said "Excuse me, we were about to use that." He said "You have to leave it over here!" (pointing to the coffee station). This is was my first time eating there, so how would I know that? Also, isn't there a much better way to handle this? Like ask us if we're using it and to please return it to the coffee station when we're done? There was absolutely no reason to be this rude. As this was my first experience there, I won't be returning. The food isn't that good that I'd put up with nasty service. read more

The egg sandwiches feature a hearty amount of egg with their "cracked" sauce which is a smoky savory cream sauce and an enriched (brioche maybe?) bun. I just got the green jacket sandwich, which was an egg salad sandwich and was very tasty, but they also had a lot of other sandwiches, bowls, and sides that looked very good.
