Here is my story. I have been trying to talk my wife into going to Cracker Barrel for over 10 years. She didn't want to go, because of the bad things she had heard. FINALLY got her to go today. EVERYTHING on the table was messed up. We ordered a side salad w/ blue cheese dressing. She finally brings the salad and says that they are out of blue cheese, so here is some ranch. So she is going to choose what dressing she wants me to have. Order a 16 dollar ribeye, I know not their specialty, too tough to eat, a RIBEYE to tough to chew, the pinto beans had the "i have been sitting here too long" crust on them. My daughter had salad, didnt get the chance to change her order (she wanted blue cheese) was just brought ranch. Son had pancakes, they tasted like they were cooked on a dirty griddle. SO, son eats my steak, daughter doesnt eat, I eat a little bit of my sons scambled eggs (cold). I am brought the 44 dollar check. I ask for a manager, I, VERY POLITELY, inform her of the problem. She says that she need to go talk to another manager. She comes back, and says that they will take THE SALAD off of the bill, because that was the only thing that wasn't eaten from. So...one 9 year old boy gets a tough as shoe leather steak and we pay 38 dollars for it. You can probably guess, my wife will not be coming back anytime soon. read more

We don't eat at this Cracker Barrel very often but when we went there at our grandchildren's request we were very disappointed. We had 3 different servers--1 to take & deliver our drink order, 1 to take our food order & 1 to deliver our food. All 3 seemed to have an unpleasant attitude. Maybe it was the large crowd there, or the Christmas rush. Then when our hot chocolate arrived it was lukewarm with melted whipped cream on top--it had obviously been sitting out awhile. Because of Covid, you can't verify that you have everything you ordered. I understand and appreciate that, but maybe they should double check? I arrived home without one of my sides and gravy for my chicken fried steak. This is after waiting nearly 45 minutes AFTER I arrived and paid for my order... We arrived with no one in the lobby and one family in front of us at the hostess stand. The hostess promptly sat the family, never said," good morning or I'll be right with you." Then proceeded to sit the family, go back for silverware, and took their drink order all while making eye contact with me. No one ever returned to hostess stand. Don't know why I keep coming here. Guess because it's the only place to get eggs, biscuits and gravy to-go at 6AM. And by 6AM, I mean 6:30 because it takes them at least 30 minutes to get moving in the morning. Matt and I are big breakfast eaters. We typically go to Ol' South for Sunday breakfast. We decided to come to Cracker Barrel since I randomly saw the sign one day and couldn't stop thinking of it. I love how the restaurant has a cute country store to look at while you wait for your table. The decorations and clothing inside is really cute and good quality. I might need to go back just to go shopping! I saw this really cute peacock section of house decor that I HAVE TO HAVE. They also sell their own syrup, jams, and salsa which is delicious. Our food was on point. You get a lot of food for the price.Our ticket was lower than our typical ticket at Ol' South and we received more food. Every dish comes with biscuits and gravy... which I am not a fan off, but Matt said they are yummy in his tummy... So you will have to take his word on that. Everything else though came out perfect. Worst Cracker Barrel I've ever been to. Waitress was rude as I've ever met. I got the steak and eggs skillet which was a mistake...I didn't want bell peppers but I couldn't do that without getting all the veggies off because they come frozen in a baggy...I told her I really wanted the mushrooms that was supposed to come with and she told me she could charge me for it if I wanted. No thanks. Then I wanted hashbrowns instead of nasty grits...charge me for that. My wife got a bacon and eggs plate she specifically told her to not make the bacon crispy...they made it crispy...so she asked for it to be fixed...she came back and I had taken the bacon and crumbled it up in my skillet in attempt to make it better...charge us for that. Just left this Cracker Barrel, beyond disappointed in the service, or should I say lack there of. We made it in the restaurant at about 8:40am, well before the Sunday morning crowd. The waiter came and took our order, and that's the last time we saw him, he never came back and no one was assigned to substitute him either. Someone from the back brought our food, no questions asked if we needed syrup with the pancakes, jam, or refills. A poor girl serving other tables saw our empty glasses and was kind enough to refill my husbands coffee. I ate some of the bland breakfast due to no condiments being offered. Drank the rest of my husbands water when no refill was offered. Didn't eat the biscuits because there was no jam. One time it took us 4 times with 4 different waiters to get our order in and they still forgot about us. One time our waitress disappeared after taking our order and we waited an hour only to find out our order never made it to the kitchen. Another time we sat around for a while before a waiter asked " Oh has anyone taken care of you?". He took our order even though we weren't his table. Ahh Cracker Barrel. I love this place. And not just because of the retro candy selection and cute home decor in the store part. This place has a warm, cozy atmosphere that I just love! Come through Cracker Barrel!!! All the fall feelings!!!" It was light, fluffy, and a perfect combination of pumpkin spice and cinnamon flavor. Topped with whip cream, I didn't even add syrup. Whatever could go wrong...did! We waited over an hour for seating on Sunday afternoon with wasn't too bad considering the weather was good and the manager who came out to great us was great. She was a 30 year old woman who was really funny and nice. When we finally got seated we ordered our food. There were 11 of us and so they gave us two waitresses. Didn't matter though - they messed up every aspect of our meal even serving people the wrong plates with the wrong sides and totally forgetting one of our plates completely. Two of our group received their mashed potatoes WITHOUT gravy - really? This is the one place people eat gravy - right? Finally the kind manager circled about asking how our visit was and well, I told her. She was totally apologetic and sent the head manager out - a middle-eastern man who was quite frankly not very kind and was rather rude. He was willing to give us two of our meals free and that was it. I mean, it took over an hour to serve us and even then, they never did get the orders right. The kind waitress came around again and was certain we would have been happy. When I told her his solution she was aghast by his offer. She then came back with 2 complete complimentary meals for a return visit added to the 2 free meals that day. Ok - so you would think that would be great - right? WRONG! We were paying for the 11 people on one ticket and they gave us the two free meals on OUR ticket and then came out and gave the other two groups within our group THEIR tickets so everyone would have been paying TWICE! WHAT? Are you kidding me? The kind manager came around again and straightened it all out. She then brought my birthday cake out and she made it on two plates to cover each end of the table.
