My lady and I went here for a breakfast date on a cold rainy day and OMG was it delicious. I got a mixture of things but fell in love with the hashbrown casserole. Later that day I took a nap and had glorious dreams about that hashbrown casserole. I think this Christmas I might ask Santa for a bowl of that hashbrown casserole. If I was on death row and had one last meal it would be the hashbrown casserole. So delicious. Also their coffee is so perfect on a cold fall day. I love you Cracker Barrel. Went to Centerville location for lunch & had a special order, crispy fries, they came out & they weren't crispy or hot; I politely asked server (Courtney) to replace them as order & she advised steak fries can't be fried crispy & they just came up, really, I just touched them & they're barely warm. So, we spoke to manager about attitude & temperature of fries and other foods. I left a note that said " your attitude equals your tip" she got no tip. When helping mom into the car outside Courtney approached me saying I should have told her to her face, I told her I would have if she came back to our table & she kept on displaying her attitude toward me then stormed away. Meanwhile sister-in-law went to get manager while I was being chewed out & all she said was she would take care of it. read more

Just had the worst breakfast I have ever had at this location. Had not been inside recently as we had been using their takeout. Place was very dirty with the floor looking like the night crew did no cleanup. The space tables had visible dust on them. Food wise my eggs were not correctly prepared, bacon and toast were cold and hash brown casserole was lukewarm at best. My wife's was the same other than her eggs were correct. The room atmosphere was smoky from the open, wood-burning fire place. It reminded me of bars before the smoking ban. Also, the restaurant refused to accept a Cracker Barrel gift card because they couldn't figure out how to get it to scan through their credit card machine. The food was ok, not great. Always love Cracker Barrel but usually eat at the Springfield location which is always great. The Wilmington Pike location was not very well managed. The hostess who was doing a terrific job was doing so many things, bussing tables, cleaning menus, seating folks that we had to wait for 7 minutes at the check in desk to get her attention even after getting a text that our table was ready after a 20 minute wait. It was mid afternoon and not busy with multitudes of open tables but still a 20 minute wait. The food and waitress was fine but we'll just visit the Springfield location. Normally we love Cracker Barrel it is our go to Sunday dinner but this Sunday we chose to go to the one at Wilmington Pike we had to practically beg for our food for refills for something as simple as bringing us a straw. I would absolutely not recommend this particular Cracker Barrel at all the portion size is half the size of what it is at any other the food was substandard the service was awful.The only reason why I'm giving them a star at all because I wish that you could give them stars to the negative is because the staff out front in the actual store was really good. The breakfast here is consistently very good. My eggs were done exactly as I ordered. Also consistently, the food is never hot, only warm. To be fair, I did not complain. For me, sending food back causes a disturbance in the force, resulting in stress. I dislike stress more than cold food. The highlight of this meal was our server, Kimberly. Although she claimed this was her first day at Cracker Barrel, she delivered service like a real pro. We never saw the bottom of our coffee cups or water glasses. Nobody is perfect, right? Went in tonight for dinner with my husband. I know change is good, but in the case of this Cracker Barrel, not so much. The wait was only 10 minutes so that much was nice. The waitress was over fairly quickly to take our order. The restaurant was somewhat busy so I wasn't surprised that 15 minutes later we still were not served. However, after 15 more minutes, still no food. I made eye contact with the waitress who came over and told us that our food was next up and being prepared as we spoke. 10 minutes later here's our waitress again saying that the folks in the kitchen lost our ticket and so our food was actually NOT being prepared and her manager was going to come to our table to "explain it a little further". 5 minutes later the waitress is back again with our meals. They were prepared correctly and were delicious. BUT....no manager ever materialized. I've seen the service decline steadily in the last couple of years at this Cracker Barrel. I don't think I'm going to see it decline anymore as I won't be going back. read more

Stopped in here close to closing time, so there wasn't a long line to wait. After being seated, still took about five minutes for a server to come by to ask for a drink. Food was brought to the table within a reasonable time frame. Biggest thing I noticed was a lack of seasoning with anything. Almost everything needed salt and pepper added. Despite that, food was still good and hot. Plenty of food for the price point. Main dish and three vegetable/fruit sides for around $10. Servers were all kind and courteous throughout the visit. Overall, a decent experience that could still be made better if the food is given a little extra preparation. read more

Terrible experience during our first time ordering DoorDash through Cracker Barrel. We ordered a medium cheeseburger with bacon and broccoli, chicken and dumplings dinner with corn, carrots, green beans and biscuits. We received the burger with no bacon and was well done and burnt. He also pulled a long curly hair out of his burger which was beyond disgusting. Unfortunately my husband had to find something to cook since this got thrown in the trash. The chicken and dumplings were alright, but nothing like typical. They arrived cool with everything else. The corn, carrots and green beans had no flavor. When you eat these in the restaurant the corn has a great butter flavor, carrots have a nice butter/brown sugar flavor and green beans are wonderful with pieces of bacon. The biscuits were the only part of the meal worth eating. We will not order from here again for delivery and doubt we have any interest in going to eat there in person due to this experience. Sadly this is the second time my husband has eaten at this restaurant and both experiences were bad. read more

I am a fan indeed! I enjoy perusing the cute little shop while waiting for a table and then again browsing on my way out. Prices are very reasonable and you can find some pretty neat finds. Onto the food...Their food is not 5 star but their service generally is. Food is classic comfort foods...fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, biscuits and the like. I love that they have a low-calorie menu to choose from. Their oven "fried" chicken is delicious. I do splurge and have the fried apples. I con myself into believing they are fruit therefore they are healthy. Hey it works for me! Overall we come here pretty frequently. They a generally pretty busy, particularly after church on Sunday. A classic turn and burn operation - the parking lot is totally packed, the lobby/old time country/crap you don't need but might buy because you're stuck waiting for a table store is full, yet you get in with only a 10 minute wait... That's probably because they ask you 3 times in about as many minutes if you're ready to order as soon as you sit down, and then once you're just about finished a busser stations him or herself just a few feet away from your table so they can spring into action the instant you step away. All of the above are irksome. Service wise the young lady helping us was pleasant enough and our food came fairly quickly considering the masses, but she disappeared for 15 minutes after the food was delivered and let us know she had been double sat and was unable to get back to us. Service fail. Why service fail? Because when our food arrived it was barely warm, and eggs are about the worst thing you can eat cold - especially medium eggs. The menu makes it sound like this is home cookin' at its finest, but you get package creamer, packaged butter, and the icing on the cake - an individual serving, in a glass container, of syrup. Not sure how much more garbage they'd like to produce, but why not put syrup in its own container too while we're at it. They should also try seasoning the french toast - dipping bread into egg and milk and cooking it a little isn't cutting it. Ever heard of cinnamon? Nutmeg perhaps? Superbly mediocre food and service, cheesy atmosphere, and one of those things that we knew going in but figured we should try. I actually like dinner better, but only a little. The plus side, my cousin had a gift card so it didnt cost me anything. I like how they have a fireplace always burning real wood. We sat close to the fire. Best part of the morning. Our waitress was either new or had been doing that job too long to give a damn anymore. The service was as bad as the food. Its breakfast, early morning, people NEED coffee. She made us complete our order before she would even consider grabbing a pot. Strike one. Our food came and she lumped our biscuits together, tossed one bowl of gravy on the table and didnt give us a spoon. We used my father in laws spoon. We would have been better of without one. That gravy tasted like lumpy wet dough. No seasoning, no sausage, just thick, wet, dough. Im not a fan of "family style". If i ordered it, put it on my plate. Personal issue there but....Strike two. She dropped our check off about midway through the meal and that was the last time we ever saw her. Strike three. I guess if another friend has a free gift card I may find myself coming here again but it would have to be good friend. I prefer Bob Evans by far. read more

Breakfast at this cracker barrel is awesome, not to mention filling. I love the french toast... it's got a wonderful buttery flavor. My husband, who is a meat lover, says that the breakfast meats at Cracker Barrel can't be beat. I prefer Cracker Barrel for Breakfast. We've dined there for both lunch and dinner, but the menu isn't all that exciting. And it's very heavy food, that does not appeal on a hot summer day. What is the deal with the service at Cracker Barrel. The waiter/waitress delivers the drinks and takes the order, someone out of the kitchen delivers the food and then 15 minutes later the waiter/waitress shows up with the ticket and ask if you need anything else. How about a drink refill - my glass has been empty for 10 minutes or maybe a some jelly to go on my biscuit. Heaven forbid we ask if everything is ok after the food is delivered. My take is it is a cost control measure - remember when they brought the biscuits and cornbread right after you placed your order and the jelly was on the table - cost control. Where does the wait staff hang out when you need a refill. Sure not on the floor where the customers are at. I think they must be on a smoke break! I hope the manager moves on and they clean the poor service. Maybe he will take his cost cutting initiative into his next new job as a Sanitation Manager. I think $2.59 is too much for a glass of tea with no refills. I had to have someone go get the waitress to get my ticket so I could pay my bill. read more

I have been to this location in the past and had great food, and great service. My husband and I took our good friend out to dinner last night and had the worst experience ever! First of all, I had a short, dark, curly hair in my food... DISGUSTING! So I finally get the waitress who takes my food and says "Yeah that's nasty," only to return with another plate of food. This wouldn't have been as annoying, but my potatoes were cold, and the dumplings were mostly chicken chunks, and gravy. I think there may have been 10 actual dumplings in my dinner. The corn tasted terrible and bland, and normally it is pretty good. I drink a lot of soda when I eat, but still.... the waitress only came back to drop off the bill and then was never seen again. After having terrible food WITH HAIR IN IT, you would think she would be trying to kiss our hiney... nope just disappeared. No manager checking in to see how things were, nothing. I was pretty embarrassed that I had spent the half hour on our way there telling our friend how great the food and service are here only to have the worst experience we have ever had. You should understand that the only reason I gave it a 2/5 is the AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL service. You should understand that I thoroughly enjoy the food served at ALL cracker barrels, so in that regard, consider it a 4/5... but this is the worst service I've had at a restaurant since I've been paying for my own food ;) First off, there were only three of us.... It took 8 minutes for a server to acknowledge our being, and it wasn't crowded at all)... then the server said she forgot it was her section... not the best start. We ordered 2 unsweet and 1 sweet tea. We were given 2 sweet and 1 unsweet. I ordered the only sweetened and ended up with the only unsweetened. The server then kind of gave us a funky look when we told her she messed up... took about 4 minutes to correct that issue. Finally ordered our meals in which after repeating our order back, she missed one of our sides, she said "oops." When we got our food, my aunts eggs were cooked wrong, they were cold, and her biscuits were borderline stale. When we informed her about that, she got us refills as well and, once again, messed up the sweet/unsweet order again... finally, I chimed in and politely emphasized the following inspirational speech..."GIVE ME A BREAK!!! IT'S THREE PEOPLE FOOLS!!!" When we left, we just wanted to get out of there, sorry, but we left a 1.50 tip for a 20 dollar meal, we shouldn't have left that much. The Cracker Barrel in Centerville is not interested in any business we reluctantly went back because it is where are granddaughter wanted to go so we thought we would give them another chance since a bad experience the last time we visited this location a few months ago when we could only get carry out, have the food was missing ! Nobody ever came back to are car and they threw the food in the window and walked away! They sent us a have one on me card to make up for there lack of service, so we attempted to use it today, was seated in a timely manner, but was never acknowledged by anyone else after that the server walked past us numerous times to wait on two tables past us and got all there orders and drinks but still nothing to us , finally ask a buss boy to get me a manager, we spoke to him as we was leaving and he offered to serve me but after that amount of time we was done ! They need to get it together but we will not be visiting them any longer. read more

First off it was very busy and the staff was nice, the place where we were sitting was far away from the fireplace so they had the heat off in the rest of the building so we froze because we were so far away. We got our order and we had ordered biscuits and cornbread which we did not get both and the meal I had had 3 sides and I only got 2, later asked the waitress to fix the order, which she did promptly, but when I tried to pay for the food I got charged extra for the side. We have noticed a definite decline in the Cracker Barrel on Wilmington Pike in the last 6 months. The service is good and the waiters and waitresses do the best they can. The problem seems to be the kitchen. It's taking much longer to get the food than it did in the past. I never see a manager walking around asking how things are like I did in the past. If I did ever see a manager I would be sure to explain how they need light twice as many people working in the kitchen. This Cracker Barrel is definitely going down and I hope it recovers cuz I used to like to go there read more

The food and service at this restaurant has deteriorated to the point where it's not worth going. We used to go weekly but the last four visits have gotten progressively worse. Tonight we waited for an hour at 5:30 (the restaurant wasn't busy) and then the food dribbled out. We were told we had to wait on green beans, coleslaw (told they were making it but never arrived), and cornbread which arrived as we were leaving. Talked to the manager who just stared at me! First I will say that our waitress did her best with what she had! This place is disgusting. Watched as our waitress served us our food and then went and bused a table not using gloves and then returned to finish serving us the remainder of our food. Meanwhile another waitress bused the table next to us using a rag that wasn't nearly wet enough and she pulled it out of the bus tub with other dirty dishes. What kind of training are these poor people getting. Obviously none because the manager looked like a lost puppy in the corner not knowing what to do. The staff was running around and he was holding up the wall. Not to mention my coleslaw was served warm, the biscuits came after we were finished, and I was done with my meal by the time I got barbecue sauce. Ugh! read more

My son is very in to tradition and has kept the tradition of going to Cracker Barrel on his birthday for a pancake dinner. The only reason I give this location 2 stars is because his order has been fine other than forgetting to giving him syrup for his pancakes. I bought him his own Cracker Barrel syrup which I was later thankful for since they forgot to include a bottle with his to go order this year. Like I said, this year was a to go order because of the pandemic. Last year we had to keep reminding our waitress of all the items she had forgot that were included with our meals. It had taken over 1 1/2 hours to receive most, not all of our items. I'm not exaggerating. Pretty sure this waitress was on something. Fast forward to 1 year later, we order online for pickup to avoid catching or passing the Corona virus, we choose to pick up out order. Our pickup time was scheduled for 5:05pm. We finally received our order at 6pm. Our order was missing more than several items that the manager had gone after herself. No I didn't ask her to get them to replace order. Who know how many years it would have taken to make it right. I will order at another location from now on. read more

We have been going to cracker barrel for over 5 years mostly for break fast. They have a great vegetarian oat meal, English muffin, plain hash brown. We have been impressed with a very tasty coffee and a great service with precision in general management all year. By the way they also have a great pumpkin pie on thanksgiving. read more
