The hostess seated my husband and me beside a table of eight, including a screaming baby. I decided to ask her if we could change tables to one a little quieter. She told me that there were no quieter tables. I pointed to a table, and asked if we could sit there. She asked why I needed to change tables. What?! I love the Cracker Barrel, breakfast, lunch, or dinner! If you can't go to mom's or grandma's for one of the above meals just pull into a Barrel. Delicious meals, huge selection, and a wonderful gift area to pass time while waiting for a table or digesting your meal. Particular favorites are the grilled catfish, cornbread, any of their vegetables which they actually cook, and their great breakfast choices. Poorly managed. I ordered the special turkey dinner with stuffing and mashed potatoes and green beans. The gravy was broth with celery. The mashed potatoes were very stiff and stuffing was very crumbly. This is a management and training issue. Have been going to this CB for breakfast once a week with a group of 6-8 for over 10 years. So when they first opened up a few weeks ago, we were delighted to get back to our routine, and it seemed like we had never left. Social distancing was practiced, servers wearing masks, and individual containers for condiments, etc. However, today was so so different. We arrived at usual time, 8 am with a group of 6. We were told that they were only opening one of their 3 sections. With the current space restrictions, we would have to wait for one of only 3 tables in that area to open up. Mind you, there were multiple tables in the other two areas that could accommodate us easily. Nevertheless, we waited over 25 min for a table. Valerie was our server and she did a wonderful job, but we are seriously considering moving our location due to the inflexibility of accommodating their customers. read more

We have been trying different restaurants for the best Blueberry pancakes and the only mistake was trying to find one that was better than Cracker Barrel. Not only are there multiple locations across the mid west and east coast but they are also open during early to late hours and serve pancakes any time. This is our go to place for pancakes whenever we need that special blueberry fix. read more

I got the apple cider thinking it would be home-made but I doubt it was and it really just tasted like sugar water. The mug is advertised as frosted, not only was mine not it had crusty dried post-wash bits on it. I got the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. The latter were surely from a box, the chicken wasn't bad but definitely had enough sodium to kill a mouse. Can't say I'll be back! read more

If you're looking for a quality restaurant with a calm atmosphere that doesn't waste your time, do NOT head on over to Cracker Barrel. My mother and I made the mistake of going down that path, and as soon as we got in, we realized just how busy it was, as today is Easter. We shrugged this off, as we didn't think we would have to wait that long, as any responsible restaurant would not be understaffed, yet we were mistaken yet again, to assume Cracker Barrel was responsible. The hostess escorted us to our table, with a "happy Easter." Now, for many people, this would be answered with a "thank you, you too", but my family is Jewish. I'm a patient person, and throughout the whole day of having to say way too many times, "thank you, but I'm Jewish", it would be nice if someone greeted us with "if you celebrate it, happy Easter." But to the real problem at hand: we waited 40 minutes for our food. I timed it myself, as I always do, incase I need proof of the restaurant's negligence. 40 minutes and 37 seconds we waited until our food came. Wait, no. 40 minutes we waited until we had to ask for the manager to go harass the kitchen staff to get our food. This is outrageous. Forty minutes for a sandwich and standard dinner platter? Unheard of. Our meal was on the house, but this was the absolute least that the manager could've done, and no way compensated for our wait. After the manager left, our waitress tried to make excuses saying things like "oh, it's a holiday" and "it's been busy all day." I'm sorry, is it my fault today is a holiday? Does it look like I care if today the restaurant might have to tend to a couple more people? No. With that, our waitress left, off to another table that had not been asked for their drink orders for 15 minutes. These are the saddening conditions that Cracker Barrel has become and it is my hopes that you will never have to experience these acerbating circumstances like my mother and I did today. read more

We were there on Saturday and had another great meal. We got there early so there was no problem getting in, if you get there during busy time may have trouble just finding parking space. Our waitress was Brandy she was at our table quickly and took our orders and had drinks out quick. The food came out quickly and was hot and accurate, l order grandpa's country fried breakfast, my favorite, it was great. Brandy check back with us often for refills. On 1/3/2020 at 8:00 pm we went to this location. I am being specific about the date and time so the owners of this location can reprimand the manager and fire him for his attitude. He was around 50 black/grey hair with a mustache, I wish I had got his name. It was not our first choice but Cheddars had a 1 hour wait. There was no wait at Cracker Barrel and for good reason. You should always trust the locals. I ordered country ham and hash browns and the both were cold not warm COLD! This was after waiting 20 minutes to get it. The country ham hadn't even been cooked on one side. The waitress said what do you want me to do? I told her I'm not eating it that way so she took it back. She then told me the manager was fixing me a new plate. He then brought me a new plate which was horrible. The food had been soaked in hot grease and not cooked. I did not complain anymore it was apparent the manager did not give a damn! His attitude was horrendous! We then got our check and apparently he still felt I should pay the full price. I have been to several Cracker Barrel's on many occasions and this was exactly the same as the ones that are local to me. Pleasant staff, quick service and despite a large group of 10 we were seated within 5 minutes and despite having two waitresses, everything came out at the same time and was equally good. We all ordered from the breakfast menu around lunch time. In and out rather quickly with food as expected. My wife & I were dying just to have eggs and bacon, something we hadn't had in several days due to our schedule as chaperones for our Indoor Drumline who were practicing excessively and competing at the WGI championships in Dayton. read more

As with most Cracker Barrel stores, it is part restaurant and part merchandise. The Sunday afternoon fried chicken special is usually very good; the portions are large and the chicken is moist and tender. The restaurant can get quite crowded, with a waiting line for table, but the combination of good food and friendly service make it worth the wait. read more

Found hair in food. Complete order did not come out. Could not get server's attention to bring out missing items until meal was over. Eggs were cold. The rest of food was barely warm. Ordered their new $5.99 breakfast with 2 biscuits with chicken tenderloins. My daughter got the same thing. Biscuits and chicken, grits, gravy and my shredded has browns came out hot. Eggs and daughter's hashbrown casserole were cold. They obvioulsy sat there quite awhile before hot food was put on plate. The waitress promptly had other plates of food sent out and took out cold away. That is more kitchen error than waitress problem. Food was good second time around.
