This is how the dinner came

Food was very bad got the shrimp dinner just a big greasy mess got a bunch of shrimp tails on the plate. Instead of worrying about the logo, maybe they should worry about the quality of the food.

Great stop here with friendly service. This CB is located right next to the interstate and I knew that they would be easy to access with dedicated parking for RVs. That made for a simple choice. Clean restrooms, a menu we knew would have what we wanted and a free wifi. Yay for Cracker Barrel! [Review 20110 overall - 3466 in North Carolina - 1086 of 2023.]

So my spouse and I have been here almost an hour waiting on our food and customers who arrived way after we did have already been served. It seems as a Hispanic female and black male we are the wrong color. Not happy at all and will not be coming back. Fries are cold and the mashed potatoes are old. The waitress said she was waiting on the mashed potatoes and they are crusty and old. Do not waste your money here

Why is Yelp limiting characters? 4td time revising this review. Pork chops were awful. Not what they used to serve.
    Donna H.

Terrible. Dried out, boneless pork chops. Never again. Not the same as they used to have. (Bone-in moist, delicious pork chops. Quality is O. Out of 5 stars. I revised this review 3 times. Said it was too lengthy. Why and I'm I seeing long reviews from other Yelpers?

Eggs were supposed to be over easy. Not sure what this is.

All the employees look like they would rather be anywhere else. I didn't get a drink for over 10 minutes. Didn't get food for another 30 minutes and it was lukewarm. Don't eat here.

Since we got there so early, we had ordered from their cafe and their lattes were nice to sip on while walking through their edible garden! I really liked our server, a ginger man, very kind and quirky and it felt personable which I enjoy, he told us about being a Michelin recommended and I'm glad to have experienced it! For starter, I got the smoked salmon hash, and that was filling enough and very fresh! I had ordered their Philly cheese steak with auju and it was sooooo filling, I love a hearty breakfast, but I could only finish one half. I ordered their local sausage patty and it was nice and Smokey and savory! The grits were chunky and cheesy which I really enjoyed, everything was great! Love it! My partner ordered a classic breakfast and their maple bacon is sooooooooo good, I told him he needed to learn to make it because I want more! Their fruits seemed home grown and I really appreciate their decor of sexy veggies on the way! Such a cool place to eat and hang out!

Cracker Barrel would have been a step up. Haven't been to this hipster, that has turned into more of a tourist trap breakfast cafe in years and probably won't go back anytime soon. Salad was basically a lettuce mix with nothing else? Added shrimp was ok. I guess a restaurant can cruise on a reputation that they once had for awhile(?) until folks realize it's just not that same restaurant anymore. Still a cute venue. Bottom line an overpriced mediocre hospital cafeteria meal that could have been a good meal with a little bit of TLC (tender loving care)...

The buffet is not normally something I'd chose but was where I ended up. I took it as a sign I was meant to be there. They have an entrance and exit door then the host or hostess will seat you. The buffet was $16.95 with drinks and dessert extra. This is a very busy place and they have two tables of 4 next to each other so different groups were seated at each 4 top. The buffet has one section for a salad, lettuce and toppings. Then the next section is hot foods with a variety of vegetables and meats. I remember potatoes, corn, fried chicken and meatloaf and on the end is a carving station for roast beef. But I know there were more options. The salad portion was ok but the potatoes and the corn were great. Then I had roast beef and really enjoyed that. They don't give big portions of it so you need to make a multiple trip. I did have some apples too and liked those. Service was friendly and kept my iced tea filled. I had heard about the pie so decided to get a slice of the peanut butter pie to go. The pie was ok and I wouldn't order that again. I'd return to Granny's Kitchen as the food was very good. I'd prefer ordering from a menu though rather than the buffet. But this is how they have it setup.

You walk in, grab a tray, and you've got options. You can go through the hot bar and get served right there, pay, and be on your way... or order off the menu, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. Very simple and efficient. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating, and there's also outdoor seating if you want it. Parking is easy too, which is a big plus, especially compared to the chaos you'll run into closer to Helen. Food wise, I always judge breakfast spots by the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit... and this one held up. The chicken was tender, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and overall it was a solid start. The surprise for me was the hashbrown casserole. It came out good, but once I added a little salt, the flavor really popped. Definitely worth getting. The pancakes were also done right... nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy inside. That's exactly how pancakes should be. Menu wise, they've got everything you'd expect from a Southern breakfast spot... biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, pancakes, omelets, and even lunch style items like burgers and plate meals if you come later. They also have a Coca-Cola fountain, which is always a win. Service was friendly, especially for early morning, and the whole place just has that comfortable, old-school home cooking feel. There is also a drive thru if you don't feel like leaving your car. Overall, this is a great spot if you want a good breakfast without the crowds. Simple, tasty, and easy.

Comfortably tucked away behind their own relaxation facade, this location in downtown is the definition of good ole' southern cuisine, cozy and welcoming environment, with service unmatched! Our two dishes ordered = perfection! Service = unreal. Maya was incredible. She made this experience (already a great one as soon as you walk in) to beyond comprehension. First, a logistics tip for anyone else visiting: give yourself plenty of extra time to find parking, as it takes a while to hunt down a spot down here. Also, double-check that you are making your reservation for the right location! There are a couple in the area and it can get confusing quickly. As for the food, my meal was quite good. I ordered the fried chicken with green beans and grits, and everything on my plate was delicious. However, my husband's meal was a bit of a letdown. He had the chicken and waffles--he felt his chicken was on the overcooked side, and the waffle itself had the texture of pancakes rather than being crisp. Service was also a bit slow during our visit. The most frustrating part was noticing that our food came out after a table of four that had actually been seated after we were. It was worth a try while we were in town, but given the service pacing and the hiccups with my husband's food, I don't think we'd head back on a return trip.
