Under the best of circumstances there is usually a wait at Cracker Barrel,however my son and I stopped by the one in Arden NC 2 days ago for a late lunch. It wasn't, busy and there were several empty tables so we thought this should go quickly, wrong! First of all no one was at the hostess podium where you give them your name. We stood there for approximately 10 min. with no one acknowledging us. We kept seeing a young woman early 20's ( I would guess) that kept walking around in the dining area. Finally she walked over to the podium where the hostess stands. She never spoke to us, she never made eye contact with us, so we just stood there looking at her ,waiting for her to speak. Nothing. After about 3 min.my son asked her if there was a wait, she responded" about 20 min." still not making eye contact with us, never once. Now the restaurant only had about 4 tables occupied. I told my son to forget it, this is beyond ridiculous!!! We left. I know there is obviously an employee shortage, especially of qualified people. But if this is as good as they can get, their business is going to suffer dramatically .I am done with this restaurant. Not sure if these companies offer any kind of customer service training, if not then they certainly need to train these people before they start their jobs. read more

Why do I keep giving this place a second chance? They are always out of everything, the things they do have are awful and the service is the pits. I think I have finally learned my lesson and will be giving no more second chances. read more

The WORST Cracker Barrel I've ever been to. Food was mediocre and service was even worse.

Signed up for curb side pickup, that didn't work, waited over 15 minutes finally went inside and was told their to go waiters were busy. No one waiting but me. read more

This is my place for Alone dining or with grandsons. This Cracker is an excellent place. Traveling I have eaten at a few lousy CB's. I would never eat CB in Charlotte. Here it's good when I have not cooked for several days but want veggies. The fish FRIDAY special works great and is cooked well and offered HOT! Sometimes they ARE so busy there is a waiting line (it's near the freeway). I had THANKSGIVING here once and ordered take-out two meals, so have left-overs next day. Enjoyed both dinner plus dessert. Have ordered the Haddock fish broiled was a good choice too. There's nothing I don't like at my CRACKER BARREL and it's close by, quick and comes HOT! I have made suggestions, like the Lima beans were over cooked, next time they had changed and they were prefect! My good local CB! read more

Nope. Keep driving. No care for how the food is prepared. Burnt hash brown casserole, water dumplings and 1/2 of a tender (this was a main dish order), shorted me the fried okra. My husbands dinner of country ham could fit on one biscuit. Stop it Cracker Barrel. You need a new chef or new management. Shame on you for letting those meals get to our hands. We were stopping through on our way to Brevard from Charleston to visit my grandparents. We decided to call our order ahead and pick it up on the way. When we arrived, the store was packed full of people and the servers were obviously stressed and slammed. Nevertheless, the were courteous and friendly and offered excellent customer service to my husband and I. As it turned out, our order had been lost in the fray. The manager pushed our order through quickly and we received it within minutes. Not only that, but he covered our bill. We were so appreciative of this amazing customer service especially since he had been driving for so long! Thank you guys! read more

Great food, great service. I always get breakfast, either the sunrise sampler or the country fried breakfast. Country fried shrimp is great especially their tartar sauce (!) hash brown casserole here is also exemplary. Pro-tip: don't go on weekends because they have long waits. I would suggest their servers bring all the accoutrements with their food. for me, with a large party, it usually takes them 3 trips and they never remember everything. read more

Horrible food, raw biscuits. Waitress never came back to check on our drinks or anything. We won't be back ever. Cold and lumpy mashed potatoes with a jelly like thin "gravy". Greasy fried chicken, cold meatloaf (if you want to call it that) children's Mac and cheese had random pieces of beef in it as well. My daughter kept picking it out as she ate. Hands down one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. Also no silverware was given to us so my husband had to go to hunt someone down. The cashier asked my husband how everything was and he told her pretty awful her response was "awww, we don't like to hear that" that was all no offer for a manager. Terrible management, I have eaten here for years and it's been ok, along the lines of a 2* or 2.5*.. I have had the same breakfast meal I always eat and one morning the chicken was spoiled. I immediately told the sever the chicken was spoiled and the manager apparently got his feelings hurt. He came to my table and asked what the issue was.. I proceeded to explain that I have eaten the same breakfast meal for years and the chicken was spoiled.. he asked what spoiled tastes like.. I said bad, not good. He proceeded to asked if it was the texture or smell. I said no, " it just tastes spoiled ".:. He started to argue with me and said he didn't want to throw a bunch of chicken away because I didn't want to pay for my breakfast.... I told him I would be happy pay for the food I ordered, however, I had no intention of eating it because it was spoiled.. he continued to bark at me because I had an issue, I demanded our check and made my wife leave her meal uneaten so we could just leave... Gotta say this was the slowest service I've ever received at a Cracker Barrel restaurant...I now live close to this one but not so sure I'll ever meet family there again. A busy Sunday morning and the parking lot was almost full., I walk in expecting to wait but because of their efficient operation I am seated right away.i did not have to wait for anything. There is something seriously wrong with the management of this cracker barrel. There were five of us, three adults, a 4yo, an infant. We went at about 330 in the afternoon. There was one other family in the dining area we were seated in. The table had just been cleared, but they missed a large splatter of potatoes and broken glass under the table. We asked for someone to clean it, the waitress said, 'that's not my table and not my mess. I get off in a minute'. What?! There's splattered food right where your feet go and broken glass! My mother, found a manager. He admitted it was unacceptable. Sent out someone to wipe it up. This guy proceeds to just kinda smear it around and leave chunks of glass. My mother tells him to do it right... Go mom! Our waitress finally shows up, takes the order. When delivering it, we ask for utensils and napkins. Her response, 'why don't you have them?'. Seriously?! What is wrong with these people? They acted like we were crazy asking for food splatter/broken glass removal and for utensils and napkins. The manager never returned to check on if the issues had been resolved. Please, save yourself some disappointment and head over to the waffle house nearby. read more

Walked in at 6:50 pm and promptly seated. Sat there with menus open for 4-5 mins, no server came to table. A gentleman came in and was seated one table away. The server was at his table almost immediately. We walked out . I'm sure the food is good there , as most Cr Barrel are, but we'll never know ! read more

Our last two visits to this location have been disappointing. Both times the food that was supposed to be hot was cold. I wished a food inspector would have been there with a thermometer. Service was terrible both times. There was no excuse today, since it was not busy at all. Three tables that arrived after us received their beverages before our order was taken. The food is Expensive, particularly since every small side is extra charge. There is no public WiFi. While the decor is quaint, I will go to Waffle House or even McDonalds next door. For breakfast the prices are not close to appropriate. read more

I want to thank the manager for his help and understanding he gave to our son with his car. The car needed to be left overnight and he allowed the car to remain on property until we could pick it up the next day. Oh, course we had a delicious dinner before heading back to Indiana. I've visited many Cracker Barrel's and this one by far is the worst one yet. I've never had complaints about any of the others I have visited. I ordered the Sunday special, which is supposed to be TWO chicken breast with two sides. I ordered this along with fries and pinto beans for my one year old daughter and myself to split thinking it would be ample food, as it usually is. First, our food came out really fast, but our drinks not so much, they were brought at almost the same time our food was being served, which was about 10-12 minutes after we were seated. My meal came out with one chicken breast and two small pieces which they are considering a breast, the worst order of fries I have ever seen, I did have 3-4 whole fries on my plate but the food runner dropped them in my lap when she sat my plate on the table, and the pintos were complete mush. I was able to fish out a few whole ones for my daughter but I didn't even eat any. Worst visit to a Cracker Barrel ever. read more

The waitress we had was wonderful but I was served BAD chicken on the chicken biscuit breakfast. After eating a few bites I had to send it back. My fiancee confirmed it was not good. We overheard another table saying they sent back as well. The manager came over and said that he had been told it tastes BAD but tried a piece and said seemed fine. Then he admitted someone else told him it was bad.....but kept serving until us last to victims returned and requested manager information. Cracker barrel is usually my favorite place to eat. I blame this incident on management. read more
