The food was absolutely tasteful. Biscuits and gravy were my fave. The only issue I had was that I couldn't substitute my grits for anything else. The worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. The food was so nasty! Over cooked and hard. No flavor at all! The Macaroni & cheese were plain noodles, no cheese, and dry. They served my child her Mac and cheese dinner in a tiny side dish, not a dinner bowl! She finished dinner in 3 bites, yet charged us a child meal! Biscuits were hard as a rock! Chicken fried steak was similar to a microwave TV dinner. Fries were NOT fully cooked. They were out of almost every side, so we had to settle for the raw bland french fires. The waitress ignored our empty cups. It was a waste for our night out to enjoy a good dinner! Don't come here! Take my word! So freaking gross, and a waste of money! My chicken fried chicken plate looked like barf that has sat and dried up over night! We have been to many CB and this was the worst by far.‍ read more

We are fairly regular visitors to Cracker Barrel, however not at this location. We were in town visiting and thought this would be a good ole regular we were familiar with. Cracker Barrels are not the same wherever you go. The service was terrible. We walked in to put our names on a waiting list and were told it would be 90 minutes. We weren't in a hurry and didn't mind sitting in the rockers to wait. After 95 minutes, we went to ask the hostess how much longer. She could not find our name on the list, and the manager came over and couldn't find our name either. They proceeded to find another hostess with her own list who also couldn't find our name. During all of this, we were interrupted by a gentleman who started raising his voice about sitting in the pickup order spot outside for half an hour and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I asked them if someone could please just seat us. They put us 'next to be seated', but there was no apology or any attempt to reconcile. In fact, only thing stated was that 'this sometimes happens' and the first two things we tried to order were now sold out. Needless to say, we will never return to this Cracker Barrel location, and actually haven't been back to a Cracker Barrel since. Customer Service was nowhere to be found and you would think the manager would have at least offered an apology of some nature. Sad read more

I placed an online order for pickup last night at 7:01. Response email said my order would be ready at 7:24 and then was amended to 7:27. Perfect. It was going to take me that long to get there. I arrived at 7:26 and called the number to let them know I was there. The gentleman I spoke with said the order wasn't up front but they'd bring it out as soon as it was. No problem. At 7:42 I went inside to see what the issue was. I was told that my order as well as the other 2 pickup orders was delayed because they ran out of mashed potatoes but they'd be ready in Just a minute. Within 2 minutes the other 2 orders arrived and were delivered to one outside guest as well as another guest who had come inside as well. I assumed they hadn't brought mine out because the guy could only carry so much. No problem. Continued waiting. Meanwhile after a few minutes the sweet lady at the front counter (I mean that. She's a bright star) said she'd go check on my order. After waiting another 5 minutes a gentleman came out and told me they were out of mashed potatoes and it would be 15 more minutes before they were ready would I like to order a different side. REALLY!!!! They didn't mention anything to the other guy who picked his up about being out of mashed potatoes again. Remember they told me the 3 pickup orders were all waiting on mashed potatoes. Anyway, I told the guy yes I'll just take green beans. He said he'd have it right out. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to put 2 orders of green beans in the little styrofoam container. Had I known it was going to take that long I'd have waited another 5 and received the mashed potatoes I originally ordered. The time now is 7:54. Twenty seven minutes after they told me the order would be ready. Ridiculous. Fast forward to arriving home. I had ordered chicken and dumplings with an order of dumplings as an extra side. I open my to go container and it was obvious that I only received a single order of dumplings because there was only one dumpling about 3"x4" in the order along with several (most 1/2" square, a couple 3/4" square ) dumplings. On a positive note I did receive 2 chicken fingers in the order. I am a regular customer at this location and this is by far the worst experience I have had there. However I have noticed the service has been declining exponentially since COVID has reared its ugly head. I have also noticed that the staff turnover here is rapid with the only constant being the sweet lady at the front counter. I am rapidly becoming disenchanted with this establishment. Cracker Barrel used to be my go to place for Comfort Food. After a recent visit to the Grapevine location, I have a different opinion of Cracker Barrel overall. This visit for Breakfast was one of the worst. Although the service was acceptable, the food quality, food portions and food temp failed on all levels. It appears Cracker Barrel's quality has decreased considerably but have increased their prices considerably not matching quality or quantity. To my surprise, I took the survey on my receipt to express my disappointment and never heard anything from Cracker Barrel. So usually my favorite place to come to, but tonight between the poor service and the NO Italian dressing for my salad I am very disappointed with Cracker Barrel. I ordered a chicken salad with Italian dressing, my fiancé got meatloaf. Our food came before our drinks, nothing fancy just water and tea. Then my food comes to the table with no dressing, my waitress says we don't have Italian dressing. I asked how come and no real explanation was given. We asked a couple of times, then the manager comes to say they had a busy weekend and are switching companies and won't have some things till Thursday. We normally love Cracker Barrel, but the service that we received today confirmed we will never be back. The restaurant was not crowded. My husband ordered fried chicken, and we were told it was burnt the first time and thus they were re-cooking the plate. Okay, cool. We waited 45 minutes before I went to proactively find the manager again, who then brought out the original chicken to prove it was burnt. Thanks for sharing buddy, but where is our new order? It takes no more than 10-15 minutes to fry chicken - and they could have at least brought out the sides. We received no apologies, no explanation as to why we were still waiting. Just excuses. It was as equally frustrating as it was weird. Did they run out of chicken or something? We cancelled the order and the comped half our bill, which was a nice gesture. However, I'm really bothered by the lack of apologies, sense of urgency or presence of management support. The managers literally avoided us and left the server to hand us the bill. Bummer to have to manage this sort of thing without support while you're working for tips. Anyways, now that I am reading other reviews - it sounds like this is normal. This was once a TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE location and lately it has gone from AWESOME to POOR ! Last week after lunch time I stopped in for my late lunch . The service from the waiter was a 3 on a scale from 1-10 ! I went in today again and was looking forward to a way much better service but I was TOTALLY wrong ! The service was similar to last week, it seems that the servers are either putting the CUSTOMER last and all else first and foremost ! I say this because last week, the server would take more than 2 minutes to get me another refill ! Why ???????? I've got no idea ! Today, same thing but today was much worse ! My server asked me if I wanted a refill and then goes to clean up a table that in my opinion could've and should've been done after getting my refill ! The place was not packed , crowded nor was there a line of customers waiting to get in . Then I asked for another refill before I was prepared to leave and again, it took the server more than 2 mins to go the back and come back out with my drink . I decided to leave because I had deliveries that has to be made . I went to the Cashier up front and told her that my server disappeared in the back and that I needed to go . I simply said to her "I need to pay because I've got deliveries that need to be made for my job" ! Then in jumps Pamela who had a look on her face that says "I'm grumpy , I'm old , I don't wanna be here today and I'm gonna treat you as I dam well please" ! She decides to give me an attitude simply because I stated that I needed to pay and leave so I can get me deliveries completed ! I'm thinking it may be a thing with the after lunch crew who simply have this "we don't care about our customers here" type of attitude ! This is twice now that I have had a horrible experience getting my order to go. This time I waited 45 minutes past the time it was due to be ready. I walked up to the counter after 30 minutes and asked if my order was ready and they asked my name. I let them know and they said it was not ready yet so, I stepped to the side to wait. There were about 3 different people including myself that were trying to pick up orders and others waiting to checkout with various purchases because the 3 employees supposed to be at the register were wondering around the store. After an additional 15 minutes, I asked again and was told it was still not ready and that a manager was coming. The manager, Alyssa shows up with the bag and then proceeds to tell me she does not know if everything is right so, I need to check it. I asked if we could check it right then because I had waited for 45 minutes at this point and did not want it to be wrong and she shrugged her shoulders, said whatever and walked away. Love coming here for breakfast! Our waiter was very good, the hostess was a little rude when she took us to our table she threw our silverware down and didn't even bother to go get crayons for my kids with their kids meals. Thankfully our waiter was very sweet, he gave them his own pens, while he went to go find them crayons. My meal and my children's meals came out perfect, but my sisters ham was very salty. But our waiter came to save the day once again and switched out her ham for something else immediately without a fuss. read more

My daughter and I have been going to this Cracker Barrel since last summer when we moved to Irving. Was pretty good at first but is getting worse and worse to a point that we are no longer going after tonight's problems.. Got there on a Sunday night about 9 pm. When we ordered drinks we asked for hot chocolate and was informed that they were out of hot chocolate. So we went ahead and put in our order in. About the same time a party of four was seated next to us and was provided a different server. 5 minutes later that other server shows up with two cups of hot chocolate for that table even though we were told that they were out of hot chocolate! 10 minutes after that she delivers food to that table of four. When we asked our server why we did not get our food even though we ordered earlier than that table and only had two people we were informed that they were waiting on the pancakes and bacon. How long exactly does an order of pancakes and bacon take to make? So long that it takes longer than the order for that other table of four? (which I find highly doubtful.) Why hold up the entire table for pancakes and bacon? Isn't the rest of the order then getting cold waiting to be sent out? When our order was finally delivered we only had one strip of bacon and had to wait for the other three strips of bacon anyway. We were not given any syrup for the pancakes and had to ask for it. The corn bread was delivered over five minutes after the order was delivered. Isn't that supposed to be delivered in advance of the meal or at least with the meal? The other server came over to help and we asked her if our server was new. She said no but he had been working since 7 AM. Why are servers being allowed to work over 14 hours resulting in such poor customer service? For the first time in many years of eating at restaurants I did not leave a tip. Normally I will leave a small tip even if service is poor but tip stands for "To Insure Promptness" and this night we got anything but that. Worse yet my daughter started throwing up and having diarrhea within 30 minutes after eating and had not been sick prior to going to Cracker Barrell. She is in the bathroom now for a third time as I write this. Needless to say, we will never be going to this Cracker Barrel again! read more

This is truly the worst Cracker Barrel location. It took 2 hours for our simple order of eggs and pancakes to arrive, it was cold when it arrived. Half our family didn't get served at the same time after the 2 hour wait. Pancakes were over cooked , eggs were hard. Manager didn't do much about it. Frankly I shouldn't have to pay at all for that kind of a service! Least he could have done is void the check! My daughter and I had lunch here. We sat down and waited and waited and finally the waitress serving the table next to us asked if we'd been helped. We said no and she said she'd get someone. Our waiter came out and took our order. It took forever to get pancakes and hash brown casserole. A family sat down at the table next to us. No one ever came out to help them. They finally got up and left. There seemed to be a lot of employees walking around doing nothing. There were two people who looked like managers sitting at a table on their phones. Cracker Barrel has always been one of our go to breakfast spots, so we opted for a stop here. Usual friendly greeting, seated immediately. Restaurant wasn't too crowded on this weekday morning, unlike weekends, where the wait can get long and tedious. Our cheerful server, Edna, quickly inquired "coffee?", Yep for sure on this cold morning. Cups immediately filled. We perused the quite extensive breakfast menu and settled on the Country breakfast; 2 eggs anyway you like 'em, grits, biscuits and sausage gravy. Food came out promptly. Uh oh, my poached eggs were just short of being of a "boiled egg" consistency. I like these babies reallllly soft with runny yolks. I probably should have specified that. So, I'll get over it and dive in as I am so hungry. Loved the warm creamy grits, with added butter, cream and honey. (To heck with the cholesterol & fat counting today). The biscuits were nice and fluffy, and oh YUM, the gravy, gimme me more please! After adding lots of pepper, this was just perfect on top of the buttered biscuit and un-soft poached eggs. The serving was generous, even had to leave some on the plate; this would not be a take home that would travel well for the next day. Edna was a great server, always there at the right time for coffee refills, and her timing to politely lay the check on the table was on spot ! I was very disappointed today! I love Cracker Barrel. The food was horrible and the service was even worse. After spelling my name and pronouncing it. My name was still passed over. I asked the young lady had my name been missed. It was still spelled wrong even after I spelled it. Then she started laughing about it. It wasn't funny. Our 15 minute wait turned into a 37 minute wait. Our food is server, but we had to wait on eating utensils and syrup for my husband's pancakes. We had to ask for water. I can't say enough good about this place. During a recent visit to TX, we stopped here for our first meal on the way to our hotel after landing at DFW. All the staff are super friendly. We must have been greeted with genuine affection by at least four people when we walked in! There must be something in the water in the South, because that doesn't happen in CA. Our waiter was the BEST. He kindly explained the possibilities for the vegetable dish, and patiently waited while I -- travel weary and not the most decisive -- told him my selections. It was totally delicious! My hot cocoa arrived with the sides dripping, for which he apologized profusely, but I didn't mind at all. The meal was big enough that it provided nice leftovers for me the next day. Great! On the way out, I grabbed a couple free samples of the Store's hand lotion which smells like gum. Lotion that smells like gum -- how cool is that? And they were tiny and airline-safe. Something rather disturbing was a gathering of customers in the corner of the Store, bickering about how to cover up the fact that someone had accidentally knocked an item off the shelf, which shattered on the floor. I laugh at myself every time I go to a Cracker Barrel. What should I expect from a place that is half restaurant/half gift shop? Obviously, the answer is that the company must make enough money from the gift shop to neglect the restaurant, which offers mediocre food, lackluster service, and an atmosphere that seems more like a give-up than having true character. A few colleagues and I wandered into this store because one of us wanted the turkey special. After being seated, we waited for about 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. I went to seek out a manager to make sure that we were not being overlooked; I found someone who said they would send our server over, but then we waited another 5 minutes, and we still hadn't made our drink orders yet. It did not get off to a good start. We all ended up requesting the turkey special with very few special requests. The special requests were ignored on the first go-round, so the server had to make extra trips to fix it. They did get fixed, though, so credit where it's due. In conclusion, I left the Cracker Barrel wondering why I went there in the first place. I'm sure I'll end up wandering into another Cracker Barrel eventually, and then I'll leave with the same feeling of wondering why I chose it in the first place. read more

See pics of empty tables but no one was being seated. Manager makes excuses for the delays. Maybe she should try and manage her staff. The help was overwhelmed. After being seated, no wait staff came so after waiting for 10 mins I went up to wait staff area to order water and drinks. Finally a waiter helped me. Note: They don't serve alcohol at Cracker Barrel. I know it's not the best for you, but I do love Cracker Barrel. I know I shouldn't, but I do. I almost always get the chicken and dumplings which are just so awesome. I went here last night for dinner after golfing - I was disappointed to learn that they don't serve beer, but I should cut back on that anyway! If you've never been, Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant with a gift shop you have to walk through first. The gift shop has a lot of fun toys and old-timey-candy. It's always very tempting to buy something because it's such a cute little shop. We sat down for dinner and put in our orders. We were promised corn bread, which never came. I had to ask twice about it and it finally showed up after we had received our dinners. The cornbread you get here is not good compared to other locations. I've been to the Cracker Barrels in New Hampshire and they rock. So - pass on the bread here. But the chicken and dumplings is still awesome. I asked for mashed potatoes as a side, but the server came back to tell me that they were out. I got fries instead. They were OK. Mac and cheese side is nice too - little on the lukewarm side but OK. As another side, I got more dumplings - which is genius on my part because I can never finish my meal anyhow, so now I have my leftovers plus this side of more dumplings waiting for me for dinner back in my fridge! I just like this place - the food is stick-to-your-ribs-americana stuff, the artwork is all this old-timey tools and art and advertisements, the gift shop is fun to poke around in. So it's a Cracker Barrel. Here close to home. Not on the highway far away while we were traveling. But always a sure thing for a good (and filling) breakfast. Which is not necessarily what we needed after walking two miles, but hey, we were hungry! We ordered the Sunrise Special sampler thing and my goodness, what a lot of food for $8 - two eggs, grits, potatoes, two biscuits with gravy, fried apples, bacon, sausage, and ham. Couldn't even begin to eat it all so we filled up a to-go box and now my dog is enjoying the rest of my meal. He gives it 4 stars too! read more

Ordered eggs, medium well, nor the cook or manager Candice know what medium well means as they originally brought me raw eggs on the first go then after asking to have them taken back, Candice watched me cut into second eggs delivered and watched the liquid white pour out. Clearly not medium well and then asked me if I wanted her to bring them back. I question her skills as a manager. Ultimately,I didnt have the inclination to have them returned a 3rd time. They also brought me grits that had celery in it. It tasted strange. Overall, not impressed. I did get my meal free, so I shouldn't complain but will not revisit this location. read more
