When the chain streamlined their menu last year, one of the eliminated items was the Eggs in the Basket. Although their online menu would suggest the item is seasonal, the dish is on the regular menu, not on the featured menu. That gave me hope the item will be available beyond winter. There are certain egg dishes which should suggest how the egg should be cooked. I requested the egg "over medium" under the belief a little runny yolk would soften the sourdough bread. Because the slices were grilled and not toasted, the slices were already softened. "Over hard" would have prevented the runny yolk from overly softening the bread. Unfortunately, I was seated at a wobbly table. At first, the it appeared steady until my order arrived. When I was cutting the food, the table shook heavily. The food and service were excellent, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the customer service at the front desk where payments are made. I stopped by this morning and encountered a troubling situation. There were accusations of theft towards me, and the merchandise manager seemed irritated that we didn't have our receipt readily available. The situation escalated as she raised her voice and argued after being advised that "patience is key." Another employee had to step in to de-escalate the issue, which was disappointing, especially since the manager failed to handle it herself. My family and I decided on breakfast for my little cousins birthday weekend. I've always heard negative/mixed reviews on this location but I'm glad I didn't listen and decided to give it a try anyway. Was there a 45 minute wait? Duh of course it was Sunday morning. While waiting we sat in the rocking chairs and enjoyed our family time. We were finally seated and our waiter came shortly after to take our drink orders. I've been to this location a million times. Hadn't been since earlier this year. Cracker Barrel serves mimosas and beer now, that was a shocker. However, they no longer serve flavored lemonade which was disappointing. The wait was long but to be expected on a Sunday morning. Took the waiter a lengthy minute to take our drink orders. We ordered drinks, our meals and 2 "appetizers" all at the same time. One appetizer came out with our drinks, the second with our food. Everything was cold as if it had been sitting in the back for some time. Still the food was pretty good. But our waitress never returned to give us a refill on our drinks. We have gone to Cracker Barrel several times throughout the years. The Lewisville location is nice because its close to home. The restaurant is very clean and the employees are very nice and helpful. We really like the gift shop which has a lot of choices of items. Christmas time is the best time to visit the gift shop. I ordered the pot pie. It's huge! It was decent but lacking some flavor. The cornbread was good but the biscuit is bland! Overall my service was okay. 3-26-2022 I've been to other locations, first time in Lewisville. These are all set up the same, the crowds have definitely returned to dining out. It was Saturday morning 10:30am and it was busy, as soon as you walk in there is a person to take your name and phone number for the waiting list, they will text you when your table is ready. It was only about a 10 minute wait, not even enough time to shop. The waiter was busy but attentive and managed his tables well. He took our order without a note pad, and he got it right. I was impressed. Some of the notable menu options are the turkey sausage patties, and egg whites as part of a standard meal. I ordered the Old Timer's Breakfast, two over medium eggs , grits, two turkey sausage patties and hashbrown casserole. Eggs were made perfect, and the casserole was my favorite, almost didn't want to give a spoonful away to my partner who had never had it before. Maybe next time he'll order his own. The biscuits seemed different this time, smaller and not as flakey as I remember, they are served with a side of gravy that was thick and creamy. My partner ordered the Good Morning Breakfast, two scrambled egg whites, grits, a side of fresh seasonal fruit, sliced tomatoes, turkey Sausage patties and a side of hatch chilies. Food was delicious, he loved the hatch chilies that were served on a small side plate, he was able to sprinkle them wherever he wanted and incorporate some into each bite. Only issue with the food was a hair in the fruit, I understand that it sometimes happens. We are all human, It's how you deal with it that matters. We let our waiter know and he was super professional, apologetic, acknowledged there was a hair and offered to bring another serving out, maybe even in a togo container, which we declined, it was the end of our meal, we were pretty much done. The waiter stated he would bring it to the attention of the prep worker. The end, all was good, situation handled professionally. The store was fully stocked with really well done displays. Loved all the pineapple merch. One of the corners of the store usually has a clearance section so be sure to check it out. A bit pricey on the cocomelon toys. We did have an issue at the register. I tried to use a new gift card it is a Go gift card. The plastic card has four restaurants where it can be used, Cracker Barrel being one of them. The card was declined, she ran it twice. Cashier said they were not able to verify the balance of the card because it is a third party and not purchased at a Cracker Barrel. So we paid cash, no biggie, and on the drive to our next stop I validated the card value is $40 and our bill was only $22. Not sure why it was declined, but that will be something I have to take up with the Go Giftcard company. Just a warning if you happen to have one of those type of third party gift cards. We were traveling north on I-35 so it was a bit difficult to get to, exit Fox Ave, and take the loop to go over the highway. read more

We love their panqueques and syrup. The food was fresh, and well portioned. Service was extremely attentive, and prompt. Service was a little bit slow because it was so busy but the service was still good. The country store is part of my favorite reason for going, although I didn't find anything that I needed today. The service at this location is very slow. We were seated for a good 15 minutes before the server came up and took our drink order... then we waited 15 minutes for the drink, 10 minutes for straws, and another 15 minutes before our orders were taken. The food was decent, not great. I do not recommend the steak tips, a new item in the menu. The steak was tender, but it wasn't seasoned, there was no sauce in them (like I would expect with steak tips). We probably won't go back to this location. I rarely come to CB but when I do, I know I am going to enjoy good country style heavy food. This location was decent because of their store but the kitchen was sadly being ran by the cook and manager since staffing was a huge issue. It showed in the food quality and available items. I was bummed out but that didn't stop me from enjoying what I could. And my kiddo got to dig deep into my wallet for some store items she had to have (like a baby doll and bottles and a magic sippy cup lol). I would come back again and hope that staffing isn't as bad. Pam was great with checking out and was very sweet. Room for improvement for sure but I feel it was for sure an isolated issue. You'd think with a pandemic going and unemployment as it is, more people would be lining up for all those jobs others are stealing. Guess not. read more

After sitting down, every waitress ignored us. We waited over 15 minutes but not a single waitress came over to ask what we would like to drink or if we had any questions on the menu. In the mean time another couple came after us and were attended to. The waitress that attended them then walked past our table and did not acknowledge us.
