I got the country fried pickles and the chicken fried chicken! i'll say it was an amazing combo! i was suprised how early they serve chicken, so if you are craving some breakfast food with fried chicken the cracker barrel is never a bad option. service is always great and the candy store might be even better!

Always good country cooking served fast and delicious!! You can't beat the country atmosphere and the home style food! The pancakes are always delicious and I love the small syrup bottles served on the side! The platter breakfast samplers are perfect to try a bit of everything! Love the grits and the biscuits! Just talking about the breakfasts here make me want to come back! Love that southern style hospitality and the gift shop is overflowing with home decor, old fashioned candies and tests, ornaments, jewelry, clothes, and toys!

I've enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel many times, and my expectations were high. Unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. Hopefully I'll be at a Cracker Barrel again soon and can post a more positive review. The main disappointment was the steak someone else in my party ordered -- she ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium well -- almost well-done. She couldn't eat that, and we asked the server what they could do. They came back with another steak in a few minutes, but this one was very rare -- practically raw. It was hard to imagine that that was a good-faith effort to make a medium rare steak. By then she gave up and we took the raw steak home where someone re-cooked it with a good result. I had the Hashbrown Casserole Shepherd's Pie, which was new to me but sounded interesting. I've always been a fan of hashbrowns, and also of shepherd's pie. This was fine, but not what I was expecting. It was really more like a beef stew, with a crust on top. A meaty stew, with a few carrots & onions and lots of beef. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't resemble any shepherd's pie I've had or made before. On the whole, not a great experience, but we'll be back again and hopefully this was just a one time occurrence.

My experience of this place, the minute I walked in this place has a strong smell like urine on the floor. They need a good deep clean on the floor. Don't get me wrong,I love Cracker Barrel we always eat in the place. I'm not sure if other people feel the same way, but for me it feels like in the bathroom floor. Food really good except the smell . I hope they have better improvement in my next visit.

We came to eat brunch here on a late Sunday morning and expected to have to wait, but surprisingly were seated right away. We got there around 11am, and were only given lunch/dinner menus, which was a little disappointing as weekend brunch is pretty popular, especially at this restaurant. Our waitress was able to get us a breakfast menu so we could see all of the breakfast options available. Our waitress was nice, but seemed a bit overwhelmed and was a little slower than the usual service we receive. She took a little longer to get drink refills and such, but they would eventually come. Our food came out in a timely manner and the order was accurate and hot. We did have other members of management come around and ask if things were going well and as expected, which was appreciated.

The store part is absolutely amazing. I spent more time there than eating. The staff was alil laxed and loud for me. The fireplace was awesome. The trout was tasty. The cornbread muffins were cold and hard. Asked twice for new one and the same was brought out.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!

They also have a solid happy hour.

Several times, Joshua has waited our table and his service is so commendable that we have personally requested him when we've returned. However, our experience at the bar tonight was actually what spawned this review. Honestly, I should have left a 5-star review ages ago. But this bar experience lit a fire under me to take the time to type something up. First off, Charred's posted closing time is 10PM. My wife and I got there around 9:35 and we felt guilty for doing so. The bartender (Emily) took our drink and food orders and never said a thing like what you hear at a lot of places when you show up late, like "our kitchen is closed" or "last call is in 10 minutes". No, she made us feel like we had arrived with impeccable timing. I even asked if we were putting her out at all and she assured us we could stay as long as we wanted. Our food arrived and was wonderful, as always. A little after 10PM, another bartender (Lauren) asked us if we wanted another drink. It was already after close and we were the next to last customers in the place. She assured me that it was fine to stay as long as we needed to, so I went ahead and ordered another beer. By this time, we were the only customers left in the entire restaurant. There were still plenty of kitchen workers and wait staff working diligently to prepare for close, but not one person seemed like they were in any hurry for us to leave. Here's the best part: although my final beer order was the last sale of the day, both bartenders (Emily and Lauren) worked together to ensure that my beer was poured perfectly. I'm not kidding, Lauren initially poured the beer and then Emily came over and assisted her with ensuring that the pour was correct. No one likes an inch of head on a draft beer. These ladies got it 100% right, and I complimented them on it. While we were the LAST customers in the place, they treated us like we were the most important customers of the day! Folks, you cannot put a price tag on that. Employees like this are hard to find and even harder to keep. Charred has won our patronage for years to come. This is a restaurant/bar that knows how to hire and train employees who will deliver a magnificent experience. Well done!

It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. My kids have been asking to come back pretty much since we left the restaurant.

Upon initial bite, it really tasted like a really well constructed burger. It was a double patty burger with white cheese. You don't really taste the jam. As you're chewing, the peanut butter comes out and it really makes the bite more creamy and definitely tastes of peanut butter. Overall, I would recommend fat boys for sure.
