Ordered a burger to go says half pound burger. What I got for my $10.50 was 1 lame burger patty. No buns, condiments or vegetables. NEVER in my life have I been so mad or disappointed in cracker barrel. I have been to several all over the state and when I order that burger it comes with everything! I called and spoke to management who claimed that's how they sell them. LOAD OF SHIT. Not only did they forget to actually make my food it took them 2hrs to do so. The stores more fun than the food is good. I'd rather spend my day in the store shopping been eating that's so so bland food. This service is excellent and the wait staff works harder than I've ever seen at any other restaurant. But the food is bland, nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the extraordinarily high price for glorified diner style food. The management didn't really seem to care that I wasn't pleased with the quality or the quality of the food that I received. The individual was also much younger than most of the waitstaff and was rather discourteous do them. As a woman of a certain age I found that To be the main reason I would never return there to eat. Sunday May, 9th 2021 The rude waitress OLIVIA asked if we were "really going to make her get a manager for some sides." that really blows my mind I've never heard someone say something so incredibly lazy and disrespectful in the food service industry. The most simple easy thing she could've done was bring her manager over to our table but she refused and made us force her to grab the manager. She was out to make things as difficult as possible. She complained that she had to start her shift at 9 am that morning when we expressed concerns about our service. Such a weak and unprofessional excuse considering her fellow employees managed to do their jobs adequately despite also starting work in the AM. She was incredibly rude and shockingly defensive when we expressed the many easy fix small problems. All the problems we had would've been easy to fix. She did not even attempt to offer us comps we had to ask to have our fries and the pot roast comped. She gave us a measly .25 cents back for the fries we never received. Then she argued when we asked to have the pot roast discounted as well. I ate the pot roast there was tin foil in my food. She explained saying that it's cooked in tinfoil as if that detail was a relevant one. how ridiculous. It really doesn't matter that the pot roast is cooked in tinfoil that is not a good excuse she should've just comped the meal and gotten her manager. She should have gotten us the manager from the start when she forgot to put our order in. Not only did she forget to put the order in she also put it in incorrectly. We got our food as the people sitting near who arrived 20 minutes after us had already finished and left. for the first time in his life my dad spoke to the manager and didn't tip. He's not a Karen he's a David. My dad literally had to argue with his waiter to get a manager to his table. read more

I wish the service was as good as the food! Me and my husband LOVE Cracker Barrel! We headed to this one in Springfield for breakfast and to our surprise it was pretty empty! Anyway, as we ordered, our waitress had a 5 star apron and as we just learned what PAR was and after the meal ended up surprised how she had it. After ordering she would just walk off and only came to our table for ordering, giving the food, and giving the check. I needed a refill early on but unfortunately never got one, and my husband wanted to ask for apple butter but also never got a chance to even ask. The time between getting the food and getting the check was so long we almost left without receiving it and she basically tossed it on the table and ran. (Keep in mind it wasn't busy... at all.. ) Hopefully she was just having a bad day. Anyway, the food was good as it always is and the only redeeming quality about this visit. read more

Was so incredibly insulted at this restaurant today. I was watched or more like stalked by the store personnel wearing headsets like they were waiting for me to shoplift something. Wow. I'm pretty sure the manager actually engaged me while I was looking at some dresses. I get that I was in my "traveling clothes" and not my Sunday best so I stood out from everyone else, but y'all really made my shopping experience pretty bad and you shouldn't so obviously jump to conclusions!!! There are no Cracker Barrel's near us, so when we were in Springfield visiting family we came here. Food was very good, prices seemed reasonable. It took a little bit for the food to arrive, but that's ok as we were in no hurry. Our waiter was J.J., he was very polite and attentive, not only to our needs, but to the needs of the other customers in his section. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back. read more

I had the pecan pancakes and I have a few comments on that...they tasted good but there was a lot of pecans in them. I also had eggs from there and I ordered 2 fried hard eggs. You tell me one person that doesn't like Cracker Barrel and I will fight them. I don't know how anyone can't like this place. Yes it gets busy, yes it's a little slow and relaxed in the mentality of the staff, but sometimes you need that. Sometimes you need a little break with some good country cooking and someone else to do the dishes. Yes the floors are always that weird slippery that make your feet slide around, and sometimes the kerosene lantern on your table isn't lit... but the food is good, it's well priced, and you can get breakfast all day! I ordered the sampler for the 1st time in ages--)it came with chicken and dumplins, a ham steak, and a slice of meat loaf, along with 2 sides for something like $12. Plus, you get corn bread and biscuits and all that jazz. Totally worth it! Everything on my plate was delicious like always. I don't think I have ordered 1 thing at Cracker Barrel that I haven't been pleased with. Plus, there's a ton of cute stuff in the country store out front. I could spend $1000 in there on candles and lotions and slippers and decorations and cookbooks. It's never a place that comes to the top of my mind, but I love it every time I go. read more

I like to eat here often but this evening was not a good visit. It was not crowded & waitress was prompt to take our order, almost to fast. She got my order wrong. I come here because they have meals that I can eat on my medical restricted diet. I had to send the plate back & wait for the correct meal. Rest of my sides were cold as a result. Love, love, love!!!! This place reminded me of growing up at home in my Grandma's kitchen sitting down for breakfast. The homemade biscuits & gravy were delicious along with the apple butter per request. Eggs/hash brown casserole were tasty with a side of bacon which of course was a perfect complimentary. They have decent prices. But our server Vonte was great! He was friendly and attentive. Made sure to tell us our food would be coming up soon and kept drinks filled. I don't know if I will go back. Always loved cracker barrel, this one in Springfield gives their service a bad name... , The food was good but when you don't get any service, you need the extra biscuits, a drink refill, you wanted to order desert,.... but no one ever came back, you even ask for them and finally you get 2 biscuits and cornbread, but where is the jelly????? Geeze I also ordered the wrong catfish, they replaced it by dumping it off my plate and putting the new catfish back on the same plate that had juices from the baked fish.... This place really gives Cracker Barrel a very bad name!!!! It's not even good enough for one star!!! Also when I shop at other cracker barrel stores there is a variety of sizes in clothes...(not this one) all XXL and I know there are other sizes!!!! Will not spend my money Here..... Now I look at my bill it said 6.00 tip plus the 3.00 . That not right to charge people what they want . I know people that don't make$9.00 a hour . This has always been our go-to place, we love the store and the atmosphere but the food seems to get worse each time we go. There were three of us and we ordered chicken fried chicken, French dip and an open faced roast beef sandwich. They were out of the French dip so he also chose the open faced roast beef, they both said that the meat was tough and cold, my chicken fried chicken looked different and I think they gave me a breast from their fried chicken batch and just cut it from the bone, it was also cold and so peppery that it upset my stomach and to top it off the biscuits were very salty. I wish this Cracker Barrel would declare its address as 1905 E Kerr St. It isn't even really on Glenstone Ave. Look at where the balloon is on the map to the right, and then go another 1/2 block N and then a bit East and you'll be there. Anyway - its a Cracker Barrel with lots of Cracker Barrel high calorie food. Enjoy infrequently ! My wife can't stay away from these places. read more
