Ok where do I start. If I can pick no stars I would but it wouldn't allow me. So, I do have to give it one star. First and foremost, DO NOT take the positive reviews for this place as gospel. This place is horrible from the hostess to the service / food. I brought my 88 year old grandmother to eat and waiting for 30 minutes. As we endured our wait, I watched 3 sets of people giving their names after us. As they waited a total of 10-12 minutes their texts goes off before ours and was seated. So, I asked the hostess why aren't we being seated since you've seated 3 sets of people before us. The hostess told me we have not checked in to be seated. I then showed her the text I received confirming we checked in before the 3 sets of people. (see attached). So, I explained for another 5 minutes we had checked in, because apparently the text I received didn't convince her. I then told the hostess if she could bring me a chair since there was no place to sit and my grandmother is not stable on her feet. (Considering we had been standing for over 30 minutes and other people around us do not have the consideration to give up their seat for an 88 year old woman). They finally sat us at the furthest table away from everyone by the open door which kept slamming. (See attached). I then asked for the manager who then proceeded to make additional excuses. I explained I wasn't interested in any excuses and wanted to know why the service is ridiculously bad? Of course, he couldn't answer me so instead he assigned us a different waitress because the original waitress stated she was "too busy". (Incredible!!!). I have been to restaurants with horrible service before but this by far takes the cake. Please if you are reading this seriously consider going somewhere else. it is clear they do not care about their service demeanor. read more

Well, I had a pretty awful experience last February but I did mention that I have always had good experiences at CB's all across the country. Well Victorville is now on par with all the others. We had a great experience today when we came in. Very friendly hostess had us seated quickly and Terra our waitress was super nice and quick to fill up our drinks, check on us, etc. I had the catfish dinner with baked sweet potato, kale slaw & mashed potatoes. It's a Cracker Barrel. You come here for the inexpensive, brown or yellow food. There's not a whole lot of food that's considered fresh and healthy. Even their green beans are cooked with bacon, and limp like a can. The good part is I don't have to drive to Arizona or Nevada for Cracker Barrel, as Victorville becomes the first California town to have one of its own. The prices are a few bucks higher than the other locations, maybe because its Calfornia, or maybe because its Victorville... I noticed most of the eateries in Victorville jacks up their prices. As of February 2018 you can't put yourself on the online wait list yet. I am guessing its still too new. We arrived at 7:45 am on a Sunday, and were quoted 45 minutes but in actuality we were called within 20. The food is comfort food, and they make great breakfast. I always get the same food: 2 eggs, pork chop, hashbrown casserole, my grits (mmmm grits!) and biscuits with country gravy. Keeps me full ... sometimes until dinner. read more

I have been to many Cracker Barrels across the country, but this one is probably the best one I've ever been to. The food was cooked amazingly well and quick. Everything was so delicious. Although I've had these dishes at other locations, something about the cooks at this location... it just tasted better. It tasted like they cared about what they were preparing. Then there's the service. Our waitress was so kind and attentive. We had a toddler who destroyed her bread and made a huge mess. Our waitress was very patient and nice about it. She brought out extra napkins right away when I asked. She kept checking on us to see how we were doing and if we needed any refills. Whatever they're doing here, they are doing it right! If you're hungry for some southern home cooking style food, I highly recommend this Cracker Barrel. read more

Grand opening day at the Brand new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Two and a half hour wait, but it was expected for being the first day. If it wasn't for a birthday celebration for our niece, we would wait a few weeks to try it. The food was good. Serving sizes weren't bad. Our server Kristen was awesome. My medium rare ribeye was more medium which I'll credit to the cooks being new and I'm sure the kitchen is crazy busy. I've always enjoyed dining at Cracker Barrels on several states. The food is consistently good and the service efficient and friendly. My only criticism is the payment process. There's usually a tolerable line in the store area. This time the line was at least 30 people and a 20 minute wait. Only one register was open and the long line should have sent a clue to open another register. But back to dining, it's always nice to get tasty food, well presented, in good sized portions. I was teetering on the 3 or 4 star rating. Had to stick with the "just okay" rating. I have to give the the hosts & servers slack because when we arrived they were obligated to seat an entire charter bus of elderly people before they sat us who arrived just moments before we did. The wait time to be sat was less than 15-20 minutes, so I can't complain. But being that it was a packed dining area, it was a very loud atmosphere and tables are very close together. I understand it's the design of the Cracker Barrel restaurants buuut it's a little too cozy for my liking to be dining almost elbow to elbow with your neighbors. The last time I was at a Cracker Barrel was a few years ago in Louisiana so all I could remember was a delicious southern style food! I initially wanted the chicken fried chicken and sadly they didn't have any. The server offered me chicken fried steak or chicken tenders instead... went with the fried shrimp... came with corn bread or biscuits. I chose biscuits. And also came with 3 sides. I chose the hashbrown casserole, turnip greens & fried apples... which if I'm not mistaken, I had all 3 of those sides from my first Cracker Barrel experience. Yes, it's a lot of food. But the serving size for the sides are not that big. Also, don't judge me. I'm a happy fat kid at that restaurant. Anyway, I digress. The fried apples are just as I remembered when I had them a few years back. Very soft & sweet apples cooked in cinnamon sugar. The fried shrimp are perfect little bites of battered shrimp. Not greasy at all. And bonus! This plate comes with 3 tiny hush puppies which are actually delightful with a great lil pop of flavor from the scallions or chives that are in the hush puppy. Not the slightest bit greasy which is a plus. The biscuits are heavenly, pillows of yum! And the turnip greens are seasoned and cooked so well and helped to cut through all the rather heavy dishes I chose. And lastly, the hashbrown casserole is crisp on the outside, cheesy on the inside. I'd prefer a little more creaminess in the dish but the flavor itself is spot on. I definitely had leftovers which is quite alright cuz now I have a little Cracker Barrel coming home with me. Overall, come for the food. I assume they are always crowded since it's technically on the path of a rest stop en route to (and from) Vegas so just expect a little wait and a rather noisy atmosphere. read more

He sure hit the Marx on that one. I ordered the Country-Fried Turkey they've been pushing on the commercial airwaves in between my Frasier reruns (on channel 4.2 CoziTV of course, GOAT channel, count it). It was everything I could hope for. Fried goodness topped with gravy. What's not to like? I'm no sociopath mind you. Not gonna lie, the pants got a bit messy. And I also got gravy on them too ;) As Dr. Niles Crane would say, 'twas a "carnal delight." And if that weren't enough I got myself an extra order of the Southern Fried Chicken plate, which I shared with the bois. Double the poultry, double the yumms :)... the taste of fried franchise birds has never tasted so good, and so franchise-y. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Delicious southern style dinner and all day breakfast. I have gone twice and had the Cracker Barrel samplers day the Mama's breakfast and both dishes were very good. The Cracker Barrel sampler comes with chicken dumplings, ham (your choice of honey ham or smoked ham), meatloaf and two sides of your choice with a third side of their signature biscuits. I chose the steamed broccoli, Mac and cheese, and fried okra as my sides. The server recommended the fried okra and the fried apples as their most popular sides. I also got one corn bread and one biscuit as the fourth "fixin" side instead of two biscuits. The chicken dumplings were not my favorite because the dumplings did not taste fresh and were just squares of pasta with two small pieces of chicken breast slices topped with gravy. It almost tasted canned. If it wasn't for the gravy I would have tossed the chicken. The smoked ham was very good and was definitely not canned ham. The ham was fatty, juicy and the slice was a very generous amount of pork. The meatloaf was my favorite meat on the Cracker Barrel Sampler platter. The meatloaf was freshly baked to perfection. The seasoning was not too sweet and not too salty honoring the soul food of the South. It was soft and delicious in every bite. My sides were also very good especially the Mac and cheese and biscuits. The biscuits were soft on the inside and perfectly baked on the outside enough that they didn't need butter. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and tasty. My least favorite was the fried okra because of the lack of seasoning on the batter. I also didn't like their corn bread it had a very hard crust. The inside looked under baked and the cornbread crumbled because of how hard it was when I tried to beak of a piece. Next time I'll definitely order the meatloaf with biscuits and Mac and cheese. The breakfast is also very good. I loved how well the pancakes were baked to a buttery crust and fluffy texture. The Cracker Barrel syrup tastes very buttery and not too sweet, which complements the buttery pancakes well. I really liked the fresh turkey sausage and the eggs were perfectly fried over east like I asked. The grits are standard to the Mama's breakfast and although they're plain they balanced my palate with all the other flavors in a gritty way. Overall really like this place especially the quick service. It was super busy with a full house during the noon lunch hour when I got the sampler and the server was patient with orders and took the time to explain the menu. I even got a free lemonade because the check was ready after the meal was served and I took to long to order a drink. The Breakfast server was even more attentive since the restaurant was only half full. Both times I was seated within 5minutes. I didn't give it five stars because of some of the average tasting sides andDefinitely a great restaurant chain to get your southern comfort craving fix. read more

Today I ordered the country boy breakfast with steak, eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy, apple butter, and two sides of hash brown casserole. The steak was juicy and flavorful, although I asked for it as medium it was a little more towards medium well, but that is okay. Hubby ordered the country fried turkey meal with hash brown casserole, broccoli and hush puppies. The country fried turkey tasted good and the turkey was moist and had good seasoning on it, but the hush puppies were a little bland for him. Also ordered a side of pancakes, as they are what's worth driving here for in addition to the hash brown casserole. Service was pretty quick, we were seated with no wait since it was afternoon already. The store was clean, and well-organized, and they already had some Christmas stuff out. The other thing I liked, was they had my bar none candy bars, which they were out last time I came, so made me excited that they finally had them again. We will definitely return, as the hash brown casserole and pancakes are the best! The only downside, is we noticed each time we come, the portion sizes seem to get smaller and smaller. I remember when the grits came in a huge bowl and the hash brown casserole came in a bigger portion, as well as the other items. I understand that since the pandemic, many places have reduced portion sizes in order to keep prices down. However I do wish they would increase the size of the hash brown casserole and the grits. Yesterday morning i wanted to have a nice breakfast with my mom but that did not go as planned. We arrived at 9:26 and we were seated. We were given menus and we waitied to get out order taken, we waited for about 30 minutes and our server was erica. She did not come and get our order unitl about 10 something. She didnt even apologize for the wait she just took our drinks and order and we waited again. We finally got our food and i took my utensils out of the bag to use and my spoon had dried food on it, that is disgusting. I asked for a new set and she still took forever to get it back to me. She also did not come ask if we needed more coffie unitl the end when she brought our bill. There was a couple who arrived a couple minutes after us and they left first because they got their order taken first. This place always hits the spot especially when passing through from a long car ride or trip and you know you can get some good home cooking here at a super reasonable price. We ordered the catfish with a side of broccoli and greens as well as the fried pork chops with green beans and hash browns. Everything was delicious! It also comes with biscuits and corn bread with that yummy apple butter. Our server, Elizabeth, was friendly and upbeat and such a sweetheart- when I asked for a cover to bring home the rest of the apple butter, she brought us extra and even more corn bread and biscuits for the road. Now that is excellent customer service! Although it gets packed, wait times are short and we also got our food at a reasonable time. We came here to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom and I'm so glad that I chose this as my celebration destination. With so many places to pick from we went with this and I'm so glad that we did. Not only was the service fast and accurate but the food was so delicious and hot which is wonderful because they were very busy. Went in for breakfast on Sunday 9/1. It was very busy but the wait to be seated wasn't the problem. It was the lack of acknowledgment from the 4 different servers that walked past us in the 15 minutes we were sitting there. Linda was the server listed on our check in receipt but we had not one interaction with her. The only way we figured out who Linda was is because we saw her name as she walked by and attended to another table. Finally we were able to flag down a server who apologized and took our order. Saturday, July 6, 2019 I won't slam on the Cracker Barrel too hard because they are definitely good at what they do and there is a reason it is so popular. I don't get it though. That being said, I don't like the Cracker Barrel. All of their food is saturated in grease. EVERYTHING on their menu involves the use of lots of oil. My wife loves the food. I absolutely do not. I think it's disgusting, super unhealthy and nothing but an oily grease pit of a restaurant chain. I can feel my arteries hardening just looking at their menu. Seriously, if you are wanting to eat healthy avoid this place like the plague. If you grew up in the south and on comfort food where everything is fried, you are right at home. This is the perfect restaurant for you and you will almost certainly walk out the door a happy camper. Just make sure you have good health insurance. read more

I've been to Cracker Barrel and normally love it. This particular store was sorely lacking in many ways. Cons: -the servers were wearing "I served" shirts (it was memorial weekend) YET, they didn't or have not served. I was extremely bothered by this since it was just a ploy to sell the shirts in the store. If you have never served, don't wear the shirt. -when you have to track down a server for a refill on drinks, it's an issue. -now, the portions. CB was always known for hearty portions, but they're not here. I'm not feeding my toddler. I want a good wholesome meal.
