I totally agree with the previous reviews about the negative attitude of the owner. I bought six of the creme brulee. That guy has no smile at all; he doesn't seem to appreciate your business. The girl who he had hired as the cashier is the one who smiles, greets, and makes eye contact with customers. The owner not only does not know about customer service, he is also unprofessional. I was really surprised to see that the cashier is the person who handled the creme brulee - the girl took out six creme brulee from the fridge and just torched and burned them on the counter beside the till. The girl then wrote down the first letter of the flavour on the lid but she wrote down the wrong flavours on the lids. I find out about that when I got home. It would be very embarassing if I had bought them as gift. I wouldn't blame the girl because the girl was trying hard to serve. It is the owner's fault. He shouldn't let the cashier handle the creme brulee. He also needs to train the cashier to be able to differentiate among the flavours of creme brulee if the cashier is the person who serves customer. The owner did not look as happy nor as friendly as the photo that you might had seen in some magazines or in his website. The owner was not as attentive nor thoughtful to customer as some blogs had described. Those blogs were posted half a year ago. Now the owner has let the cashier handles the creme brulee and the owner looks like he does not want to talk to people. He is either too proud of his products or he hates serving customers. The creme brulee does taste good. Strong flavour and not too sweet. With that price I expect good customer service. I won't go back unless the owner knows what is good customer service. read more

Came by to try their Creme brulee. Nice little shop near china town. When we arrived there was only one person in the shop ( I suppose its the owner himself) We picked the original & Pandan cremebrulee, and also a plain waffle. The cremebrulee had a really nicely burnt "just right" sugar layer on top. The original one was good but not over the top. The Pandan flavor one was not over powering, and not too sweet. The owner actually made a fresh waffle for me, as i saw there were couple already made sitting there already, which i think was really nice. Overall, i would come again to try the other flavors! I don't ever want to create inconvenience for baristas or servers since I am a Chef myself and understand you're busy it gets, but when I can't get almond milk instead of soy, or diabetic sweeteners, since I am prediabetic, it makes for an awkward feeling of, who's serving whom? Should i just give him cash and leave, or am I bothering him from doing something else? If I had debit or cash would it be problem because all he has is an iPad for Visa? Leaving a cafe with questions as to why you go there in the first place makes you not really want to recommend it, and if the owner isn't a fan of customer concerns, then he shouldn't expect any fans in return. read more

Words cannot even describe the pure happiness that I felt when I ate this creme brûlée tonight. We had Ferraro Rocher creme brûlée and a vanilla waffle and malted chocolate ice cream. The owner was the only one working and attended to everyone very quickly and was soooo sooo sweet when we complimented him and told us that he made the ice cream in house!! Of course he does, because everything here is perfect. Holy crap. I would rate this 10 stars out of 5 if I could. I would highly recommend you eat here at least once in your lifetime so as to experience some amount of pure euphoria before you die. read more

We walked here after dinner at Oyster Express to try their creme brulees. We decided to share the coconut pandan creme brulee. The owner asked us twice if we were sure we didn't want to take our food to go. I understand we arrived half an hour before closing, but there were other people in the shop, and it doesn't take half an hour to share one creme brulee between two people. I insisted that we wanted to enjoy it there, but I think subliminally I didn't get to relax and enjoy it knowing that the owner wanted us out of there. Customer service could be improved. read more

This place is literally on the edge of Chinatown! I'm wasn't a fan of Creme Brulee... but until I went to this place. Everything about this place is just so awesome! When I first walked in, I notice how this place smelled great. Literally smelled like a bakery but it's just Creme Brulee LOL. There's a large variety of creme brulee they have so ordering shouldn't be a problem. I had a black sesame! They stored their creme brulee in the refrigerator and torch it right when you order one. As I ate the creme brulee, the texture of the creme was soooooo great! It was very creamy and cripsy. With every bite, it becomes a great addition and you only want to order more! On top of that, this place is very affordable so think of it as ordering a coffee! read more

So glad we found this place! Clearly, the owner is passionate about his craft and very proud of his creations, as he should be. These are the most delicious creme brûlée creations I've ever tasted and I don't generally even like them. We had the vanilla lavender, durian and the pandan coconut. All were so delicious! There is a trio offered, but the flavors offered don't include all flavors. Brûlées are torched immediately after purchase. Watching the sugar burn was a real treat. And you can purchase these to go...they come in cute mason jars. Then I purchased the liege Belgian waffle to go, reheated it in the toaster oven and that baby disappeared faster than you can say, "yummy Belgian waffle." Only wished I had purchased more. Soft inside and caramely outside with a slight crisp...so yummy!! Better than any of the ones I ate in Brussels. The owner clearly honed his craft to create the perfect waffle. Complimentary self-service rosemary water was deliciously refreshing. It's these tiny but important touches that make this place stand out from the rest. This place is super cute and small. If you love creme brulee as much as I do, the owner here makes all different kinds of flavor of creme brulee which you must try including durian! My fav is their black sesame because it is full of sesame flavor. The other ones are good too but they aren't as strong in flavor. I have also tried his macarons which were yummy too especially the black sesame one! Came around 8:30 on a Wednesday after seeing the great reviews! We got the Ferraro Roche creme brûlée, a lavender latte, and a rose latte (cause why not?). There was only one girl working at the time, so she was doing dishes, making coffees, preparing food, and acting as the cashier. Therefore, we had to wait in line for about 5 minutes. We got our food 5-10 minutes after ordering. The space is super small, so we chose to sit on this strange wooden plank/bench thing. Was a little weird but not the worst thing in the world. Creme Brûlée was delicious, very sweet but we did choose a very sweet flavour. The barista ran out of cups so our lattes were in glass jars, so they did burn our fingers a bit! Lattes were good as well. Would earn an extra star if they were properly staffed; changing the outdoor setup would be nice as well! read more

Creme Bruleeeeeee. Ah, yes! After having this one on my list for awhile, so happy to make the trip with a friend. Now, I'll admit it took us awhile to find, but after we got our directions sorted, we were set! I had regular creme brulee, and also took home the vanilla. Both? Delicious. The serving sizes were just enough, and they have some yummy juices and flavoured iced teas (I had peach ice tea, and it was just right!). This place seems is awesome! I had the bourbon butterscotch crime brulee- it was so delicious and creamy. The smokiness of bourbon was not overly done and balanced the sweetness of the sugar. My friends had a matcha green tea, pandan, and salted caramel. All three were unique and yummy! The green tea wasn't too earthy. The pandan was aromatic and sweet, but not too sweet. Delicate floral signature with small chunks of goji, perhaps not the best suited for children. I loved the simple yet clean decor, water with rosemary, and mostly glass transparent containers. Owner was nice and informative, not sure why he'd receive such negative criticism in past reviews. I finally got to try this place as I have bookmarked it forever. We came on a Saturday night around 7 pm and there were waves of customers coming in and out. Business is definitely steady. This place is bigger than I have imagined: two sides of bar stools that can maybe sit 10 to 15 people at the VERY most. This place isn't exactly for those that want to chill and hang out as customers just get take out and go. They offer coffee drinks, waffles, cute character macarons and creme brulee. They have self-serve rosemary water at the counter which I find to be very neat as it looks nice with a new refreshing taste. We tried the waffle with nutella drizzle for about $5 each. Honestly I've had much better tasting waffles before and 5$ for a small waffle is a bit pricey. The reason why I've been wanting to try this place out is because I've been seeing those cute little macarons. They have them in Hello Kitty & Sanrio characters, Minions, Totoro & friends and some other ones. The macarons are $2.90 each; normally I would think it is rather steep for a macaron but I have to take in consideration that yes it does take time and effort to make them. The macarons are A-ok tasting only as I've had better ones before. I was a bit disappointed to find that their flights of creme brulee to be gone. They now offer 6 to-go creme brulee for 26$. Tried out Crackle Creme last Friday for the first time. It's in the gentrified area of Chinatown so there's a couple of hip/trendy restaurants nearby if you want to stop by here after your dinner. I had the Ferrero Rocher flavoured creme brule and shared a matcha waffle with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with my friend. The Ferrero Rocher creme brule was decent. Very sweet (which it should be), and very chocolate tasting. It actually reminded me a lot of chocolate mousse (though a little less fluffy). They topped it with crushed Ferrero Rocher. I enjoyed it and probably would try it again if I had the opportunity. The Matcha waffle was decent, though I wouldn't say amazing. It's already premade so they just head it up a bit and throw a scoop of ice cream on top. Tasted good, but the waffle was a bit too chewy for my liking. Maybe if it were freshly made, it might have been better? The service though was great. The attention to detail was awesome - they made great recommendations and service was good. Would certainly consider coming here again if I'm in the area and have a dessert craving. read more

Cute place! The service was great and finding parking was easy. I like how Crackle Creme puts their own little spin on these already delicious desserts to make them more creative. However, out of the 4 creme brûlée flavors that I tried, I only really enjoyed one (white chocolate rose). The rest had flavors that were surprisingly TOO rich for my taste. I usually complain that some foods are too bland, but it seemed as if the flavoring overpowered it too much that I couldn't take more than one or two bites. I also ordered the macarons which were incredibly cute because they had characters on them! I think my favorite of theirs is the waffle with ice cream on top. The waffle had a light cinnamon taste which I loved and was topped off with a scoop of honey lavender ice cream. 3 stars because I was disappointed in the creme brûlée which I was hoping to be the best part! read more

Love this place. The flavors of creme brûlée are a bit different than the same old. Last time I had lychee and vodka. Very nice subtle taste of lychee with a slight boozy note. Been wanting to try Crackle Creme for about a year and finally made it over last night. Served by the unenthusiastic owner who provided his recommendations and clarifications of some very unique flavours. The premade, refrigerated desserts were blow torched in front of us which looked cool but left the desserts very cold. The creme Brule was very rich and strongly flavored and I struggled to eat more than a few bites. Glad I tried it but wouldn't go back. read more
