JUST FANTASTIC! I decided to eat vegan foods because of health issues so it's really hard to find a place to eat. I had to go to Trader Joe's and I wanted to invite my youngest daughter to an early lunch before we went so I looked up a place and this restaurant was highly recommended. I highly recommend it to anyone, it doesn't matter if you are vegan or not my daughter approves of it and she's not a vegan. My daughter had the bourbon burger and I had a sausage and mushroom pizza, I also took a sausage pizza to go. The food was so delicious and we will be coming back soon. Food was quite good. We ordered two Nashville hot chickn sandwiches, a caesar salad and the buffalo cauliflower. The low rating is for the service. We had a whole conversation with the waitress about how tomorrow was my birthday and that we had spent the day in Carmel at Point Lobos and had deliberately come to this restaurant for the buffalo cauliflower. Unfortunately, that item never made it to the table. The restaurant was pretty empty with several open seatings, and so was relatively quiet. But, still, the main reason we came, was missed. We had finished about 2/3 of our meal when the waitress came to check on us and that's when we asked her where the cauliflower was and she said that she had forgotten it. At that point, we were pretty full and asked her to cancel it. So despite the fact that it was my birthday lunch and that we specifically came for the cauliflower, there was no real apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. Had a great lunch today with the hummus wrap on flatbread and the hummus plate with gluten free bread. Both were delicious. Lovely outdoor seating and parking in the nearby garage made it easy. Wait staff was super friendly. The wrap was big and I took the second half home for dinner. No sides with the wrap so plan accordingly. read more

My sister is in town from Phoenix, to help take care of me post knee surgery. We really wanted to get out of the house and I was walking Ok enough... Brought my sis here to check out the buffalo cauliflower, hummus plate and cbd marg! Yum! I've been here several times with my Mom- who visits from Phoenix and a couple of my girlfriends here in town. Always have great service, really yummy food and drinks. Every time I go I sit on the patio, there is nothing better than patio seating on a beautiful day with some refreshing drinks, snacks and good company to people watch and catch up with friends or fam. We are moving out of state in a couple weeks and this is one spot I'm going to miss!! Not too many places up here in the Bay Area made an impression, but I love everything about Craft Roots! I'd definitely recommend trying some beer they have on tap and any of their signature cocktails! They even offered an "adult slushy" that had the taste of sunny delight, my sister loved it. My husband and I were so impressed with our experience at Craft Roots! It's so difficult to find good vegan food while eating out, but craft roots has changed the game. First of all, the ambiance of the restaurant is great - they have quite a bit of out door seating available (3 picnic tables that can seat up to 6, probably 6 tables that could fit 4, and a handful of other outdoor seating spots as well for 1-2 people. It is a pretty relaxed vibe and the servers are all really great. I'd imagine the servers have tried all of the meals, because they were able to give recommendations based off of their own experience! For my meal, I ordered the chili cheese burger with a side salad and the "All the Rage" cocktail. The chili was AMAZING!!! It will be my life goal to learn how to make that chili recipe so I can always have it on hand. The burger had onion rings, chili, queso, and a burger patty that tasted like real beef. The burger was huge but I finished every bite of it - it was THAT good. The side salad was great as well! It was probably one of the best vegan ranch's that I've had. So good, in fact, that my husband got a side of ranch to dip his pizza in. The drink was really yummy! The flavor for today was a strawberry mojito with CBD-infused sparkling water and vodka. It was really delicious and I'd highly recommend it! My husband got the sausage, mushroom pizza with the "This is Fogged Up" beer. The pizza was really great for a vegan pizza! The crust was delicious, tomato sauce was good, and it was one of the better vegan cheeses I've tried. The sausage tasted like a subdued version of sausage (the flavor was a lot more subtle), but for a vegan replacement it was really good. The beer was very hoppy. If you are looking for a good, hoppy beer that doesn't taste like all of the other heavy beers, this is the one for you. It's also on the heavier side at 8.8% ABV, so it's a good bang for your buck. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant and we will be back! read more

My favorite vegan place!!! We love coming here! We typically come during lunch hour, and there's always a good amount of people. We always start with the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites which are a must when you come! It has such a great flavor. Next we split the House Salad which is super fresh but has a great creamy salad dressing. This time we came we got the Sausage and Mushroom Pizza. It's so tasty we probably finished almost half of it. Another really yummy dish that we typically get is the Mac n Cheese. It's so good!! Tried out Craft Roots for the first time. We did not have a reservation on a Friday at 6 pm, but the hostess got us outdoor seating in the front porch bar. Great view of trees and greenery and great for people watching. We started with the awesome buffalo cauliflower. Pineapple margarita and sparkling brut. Our server was fabulous, friendly and funny. He made great recommendations! I wish I got his name! I had the harvest plate which was packed with grilled vegetables and Korean barbecue sauce. There was cabbage, beets, turnips, kale, roasted and so flavorful! Loved it! My companion had the hummus wrap, also loaded with flavor and fresh vegetables. This restaurant is located downtown and there's ample parking in the side streets. We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and had a choice of sitting inside or outside facing the street. The menu had a lot of various items and an extensive beer list. I ordered a burger that was so big I had to remove some of the mushrooms just to eat it. Everything about it was very fresh and tasty. I decided on the fries as my side, which were crispy and yummy. This place is a gem and I would recommend to anyone showing their meat eating pals what good vegan food is all about. read more

Their food is absolutely delicious, my favorite is their Chili Cheese Fries and their Pizzas which always hit , despite how often they change, that's an added bonuses as it keeps the flavors nice and varying in a good way! The service is typically on point, the owners really chill and stand up dude, many of the members there can be very welcoming, it can be a hit or miss on some I think depending on their busyness. Craft Roots is still our favorite restaurant. When we eat out or pickup takeout in Morgan Hill, we stick with Craft Roots almost exclusively. I am updating my review because of our experience on Saturday May 15th. We arrived in the evening, and the restaurant was jam packed. We waited outside for a long time, and a table finally opened up. We went through our whole dining experience, ordering many items with our usual adjustments. Nearby, others were also ordering food and drinks. Surprisingly (given the crowd), everything came out on time and tasted perfect. At the end of the meal, as we were paying, we found out that Justin (one of the owners) was the only person in the kitchen! I was completely shocked when I heard this. How could one person possibly produce such exceptional food for so many people in a timely manner?? I continue to be amazed by this local gem! read more

This is our favorite vegan restaurant. My sister introduced me to it a few years ago, and we've loved everything we've tired. We were disappointed to see that the mac and cheese has been removed from the menu--it was a particular favorite with my kids and the first vegan mac and cheese we found at a sit-down restaurant after going vegan. This is one of the easiest 5 star reviews to write. Craft Roots is on point. The menu is loaded with delicious options that pack and nutrient rich punch. I highly recommend the Buffalo cauliflower bites (with an extra side of ranch). They are a delight! In terms of mains, we had the hummus wrap and the supreme pizza with GF crust. We also tried 3 of the cocktails- they were all very refreshing but the kombucha mule was my favorite. If you like beer / wine there are plenty of great options on the menu for that as well. Our service was fantastic and we loved the laid back atmosphere. They have bar, indoor and outdoor seating options and I'd recommend sitting outside if the weather is on your side, the open air picnic tables are awesome. Overall, I think vegans and carnivores alike can find a dish they love at Craft Roots. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu soon! :) read more

Excellent, family owned, vegan restaurant. I visited with my sister for dinner. We ordered two of the craft cocktails, as well as two appetizers: Papas Bravas and cauliflower wings. The potatoes were a little heavy on the sauce, but this was toned down by the sour cream. I think it's hard to find good cauliflower wings; they're often super mushy. These were crisp and just right. My sister ordered an Impossible Burger and I ordered the Thai pizza. I was so stuffed from appetizers that I only ate one piece of pizza and took the rest home. It was enough for multiple meals. The service was good and the food came quick. Definitely make reservations because it's a small place and it fills up quickly. Highly recommend! read more

We used to eat here often and absolutely loved it. We have a family of both meat eaters and vegans, and everyone thought the food was excellent. Craft Roots would sometimes switch stuff up on the menu, but had some pretty tasty staples. Sadly, that has changed. We recently ate there and were provided a menu that looked foreign to us, given they changed a large chunk of the menu, dropping many of the amazing things we loved to much. The BBQ burger (among other burgers), chili cheese fries, Thai pizza, sweet potato fries(!!!).... a sample of things they dropped. When asked why they dropped something like sweet potato fries the waitress told us the staff thought the menu 'was boring and wanted to spice it up'. That would be fine if they replaced it with items equal of quality and taste, but that didn't happen based on the food we ate. Not to mention, we ordered several meals, including a pizza, and all of the meals came out and were eaten by the time the pizza came out... almost an hour later! No apology from our waitress, just a comment that their pizza always takes a long time. It's a bummer because we love this place and like to support local establishments. We won't be back unless they 'spice things up' for customers, not the staff. read more

All the food was so good! Got the Buffalo cauliflower- surprised by how much I liked the sauce! Strange that they sprinkled the top with carrot and celery instead of putting that on the side. Papas- the aioli was so good and the edges of the potatoes were crunchy Chili Chz fries- was worried they would be soggy but they weren't. Pizza- fancy good! Crispy good crust. Tasted so good. Harvest bowl- wish there was bread on the side and or more veggies to the sauce but flavor was fine and all veggies were cooked well. Fall salad- was my husband's favorite. We got dressing on the side and did not use it. Lovely candied walnuts Service was good. We were able to bring our dog. Revisited this restaurant and had a better experience. The first time I tried it was several years ago when they first opened, but they have since curated a more extensive and creative menu. The Buffalo cauliflower bites were the highlight, along with the service. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The mushroom sandwich had a great flavor, but a tough/rubbery texture. The garlic fries were kind of plain and lacking in garlic, but the sweet potato fries were delicious. Overall, I'm very pleased that Morgan Hill has a fully plant-based restaurant. Their current menu also has plenty of options, so there's something for everyone and it's easier to take non-vegan friends/family here. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant. Every time I come here I order the buffalo cauliflower. And I have a craving for it often so I keep coming back. But the other day I had the mushroom burger with garlic fries. I love how fresh the garlic is that they grate onto the fries. The mushroom burger was okay. I could barely tell it was a mushroom. But it was still very tasty and I enjoyed the slaw and the sauce they put on the burger. I love their seltzers and all their drink selections. I'm a regular here for sure. read more

So we went back a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing experience. The owner Justin is an awesome guy and was very helpful with explaining the types of food choices they offer. Again the wife and I aren't vegetarian but the Chili Burger I had and the pizza she had were excellent. The pumpkin seed chili really tasted like chili. The pizza crust and cashew cheese were very good as well. As an unabashed carnivore, I can totally eat at Craft Roots and not feel like I am missing anything. Their bar manager Nicholas is great as well. I challenged him to come up with a Prohibition type cocktail for me and even though his alcohol selection is somewhat limited due to some alcohols not being vegan, he made me a Gimlet that did indeed give the essence of a Prohibition drink. Kudos to him. If you aren't in the mood for vegetarian food, try stopping by for a drink. They have beer, cider and kombucha on tap as well as great cocktails. So now I see why Craft Roots has so many 5-star ratings. The food, the drinks and the people that work there are all outstanding. read more

SO grateful we have a local vegan place! The food, drinks, staff, and location are amazing. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area as soon as you walk in, and the place seems to be full regardless of when you go, but it only makes the place experience even better. There are long picnic style benches for seating in groups or smaller duo tables, and there is bar seating as well. The menu is full of plant based favorites, so we had to try the cauliflower and it didn't disappoint. The ranch was delicious, and the buffalo sauce was spicy, tart, and a perfect match for our drinks. The burger was delicious, meat eater or vegan, you will love it. Never figured out how they make vegan products juicy, but I don't think I care. The fries were crispy and thin cut, perfect to finish the ranch from the cauliflower! Loved the macaroni and cheese and the crispy top. Broccoli had no seasoning but it doesn't particularly matter if you swirl it around in the cheese! Dessert is was decent. Vegan cake always has a weird gluey chew, but the root beer and vegan ice cream helped wash it down. I can't wait to go back. read more
