When I called to make the appointment, they were quick to answer and it was very easy to schedule. I went for a basic women's haircut which was $75. Lilian was friendly and clearly cared about doing a great job, listening to how I was wanting the hair to be cut. Going from longer hair to a shoulder length cut along with a shampoo and dry all took just under an hour. I am definitely interested in coming back! They're located on the second floor of a plaza with lots of parking, although it can be busy.

I have been going to Craft Salon(also went to Do Bar) since 2012. Cabe Nowlin is my hair genius, I mean stylist. I used to live in Montrose, then I got domesticated and moved to Katy and I still make the drive to see my hair genius. I started with long brown hair and its always has been kinda boring. The first time I went to Cabe I asked him to keep it long but to make it more fun and sexy. He said he knew exactly what he wanted to try, as he was cutting my hair the other stylist walked by and were watching him work on me. They asked him questions and he explained what he was doing and what effect it creates and they were nodding their heads and saying "how cool". I say this because it made me feel super confident in Cabe's ability when his colleagues were watching his technique! Ok, so then he finishes and I feel like a super model. It was somehow completely different and unique but still kept the length! I got so many compliments!! I have continued going to him and he always makes me feel magnificent. I also want to add that he is just a joy to talk to and somehow I feel cooler for knowing him. My other super noteworthy experience is with Maritza(Ritz), first she is so awesome and sweet. Cabe went through a streak where I just couldn't get booked with him because of conflicts with my schedule and his, so I made an apt with Ritz to get an Ombre! This was my first color experience and I was scared beyond belief. I felt so bad like I was cheating on Cabe but I had to do something with my hair stat. When I got there gosh Ritz was just a doll! She totally got me, our personalities clicked and we giggled the whole time she was doing my hair. When I was done I was so happy and blown away by the great work she did! But now on the most amazing experience of my life, I went back to my normal schedule with Cabe after I got my ombre done and then it was time to retouch my color. I came in and we talked about what we should do and how to get it done. I gave him some examples and of course my hair genius Cabe, got it down. When he was done, I went from a dark brown hair with a faded ombre to a medium brown with dirty blonde ombre goddess. I swear I almost cried it was so gorgeous. The color was spectacular, the cut was magnificent, the styling was Victoria secret-esque and I don't think I have ever felt more beautiful in my life... I walked away and just wanted to scream with excitement. I got home and my husband was blown away. My girlfriends just cant get over my transformation. I am so thankful to everyone as Craft for just existing! All of you are amazing! My husband originally bought me a Groupon for cut/style/keratin xpress/color or highlights. I immediately called and made an appointment. When I arrived, the original person I was scheduled with had an emergency and Lola graciously took my appointment (keep in mind I had a Groupon). She visited with me at length to get a feel for what I was wanting and expecting. After several hours of meticulous care and expert services, I left feeling like a million $$$! She not only gave me the best cut I have ever had, but she corrected a terrible highlight job! The results were far more phenomenal than I ever expected, and my loyalty will be with this stylist from here on...I have finally found the perfect salon and stylist, and to think I have been looking for 1-1/2 years! The staff at Craft Salon are pleasant and friendly, and the facility has a very relaxing, calming effect. I live in Katy, so they are not convenient, but the drive and traffic I encounter are nothing compared to the service I receive from Lola at Craft Salon. Also, I would like to add that the owner, Laura Craft, offered me another special for my next visit, which was the same as my Groupon special, I just had to purchase it before I left--which was yet another plus for this salon! I am not one to write reviews, but I thought it was important to let people know my experience and hope others who view this will NOT go to Craft. My stylist was Natalie. She was 35 minutes late starting with me. Her next appointment arrived (early) after she just started with me. First of all she was worried about being late and knew the next appointment was already there so she kept watching her and everything else in the salon that she barely even looked at me while cutting my hair. The biggest reason why I will not return is because..... I came into the salon with very long straight hair all the way down my back and told her to use her expertise and to give me a short, cute, sassy cut and I did not care how short she went. I wanted something different and easy. What I ended up with looked like she put a bowl on my head and cut around it. No definition, very poofy and terrible. I went to work and my co-worker said "did you go to one of those cheap salons". I said no, but my hair looked like it did. I would think a stylist would love for someone to come in and say...do what you think will look good....be creative. Apparently not. Words cannot even begin to express how much I heart Austin Payne and Craft Salon! Through the years, I have been to several people for highlights and cuts. I have had the good, the bad and the ugly. But finally I can say that without a doubt, I have found the VERY VERY best when I booked with Austin Payne! I happened on Austin by chance, when Craft called and said my former stylist was no longer there. I liked Cara and the gang at the salon SO much that I asked for a recommendation and Matt sent me to Austin for highlights and a cut. I was AMAZED!! My cut never looked better and my color was perfect!!!! Not too blonde, not too brown...just PERFECT! I received more compliments than I ever had before and the most glowing one was from my mother, a constant critic about my hair!! Anyway, I have found my guy, and you should give him a try! He is very skilled, and listens to what you want or think you want and makes recommendations on what a good look would be for you. i was referred to Austin by my sister after a way too pricey and disappointing experience at another salon. Austin was so sweet from the start, offering me some wine and really wanting to get to know me and what I wanted. I think it is so important to have a stylist that you trust. He showed me everything he was doing, and even showed me how I can do things differently at home. Usually I use the time where the stylist is blow drying my hair to relax, but I found myself yelling over the dryer to continue talking to Austin. He was so much fun and someone I will look forward to seeing next time! The salon itself was very clean and classy, and in a great area. The girls up front were very nice as well, especially in fitting me in on a Saturday. They also sent out a confirmation email a day before, and offered to schedule my next appointment before I left. Katrina Evans is the stylist I see at Craft and she is AMAZING!! She has natural talent and skills that are beyond belief. I always have a great time while I am there, she makes sure to concentrate on me and she actually listens to what I want to do with my hair and gives me advice... she doesn't push me into getting something I don't want but "might" look good like stylists tend to do sometimes. She is always excited to try something new but just as happy when I want to keep something the same! Katrina Evans is my stylist and she has been for some time now. I love Katrina because she is honest and open. She listens to what I want and helps me achieve my goals. Katrina also cuts, colors and styles my 3 daughters and my sons hair. I highly recommend her to my friends and family for all their beauty needs. She is truly an artist! I'm not a fan. Some of the staff were nice but the guy who works there was rude to me over the phone and sort of ignored me when I got there since he was chatting with someone else, which made me feel sort of unwelcome. The shampoo girl was super sweet and she would probably be the only reason I'd give it 2 stars. My color was off, darker in spots on the top than others and my cut was completely uneven. I live in the area so I wanted to try it out. I can get done what they did at super cuts for half the price. I had to go to elements right down the street from them just to get them to fix the damage my stylist had done. I went to Craft last night and it was fantastic. I had an appt with Austin. What was great is that they fit me in the same day I called. My bangs were driving me crazy and they fit me in for a cut and color. Austin was so thorough, going over my style and explaining the products they use. They use Alfaparf, which is Italian. It turned out amazing, the color was so warm. Plus, Austin told me he does complimentary bang trims, no appt. necessary:) My husband came in while my hair was processing and got a cut. Okay so I've been reading these reviews and have got to say / mention on here to anyone who loves their blond locks - real or man made...Natalie is simply incredible when it comes to blond. I have been going to Craft for a while, have sent many a client there and I am very picky (i.e. a challenging client lol)...never have i have had so many friends thank me for a recommendation as with Natalie. I have thick, frizzy, wavy/curly hair down to my butt that's damaged from bleaching several years ago. I've had my hair cut by both Daniel and Andrew. Daniel did a great job in October, made me feel very comfortable. I did a luck of the draw when scheduling this week because Daniel was all booked but I'm EXTREMELY pleased with Andrew. He did an incredible job styling AND informing/educating me about my hair so that I could style it on my own. By far, one of the best hair appts I've ever had!
