Food not bad, could use a few tweaks but overall not bad. Would be a 3.5-4 if just the food were judged. The service here over the span of a month and two visits was,is horrible. Ordered drinks first that then didn't come until the meal. Asked for sweet n low with my tea, it didn't come till ten minutes after my meal. If they are going to survive they better start servicing customers far better than they do now. Will give them a last chance review in about a month. I would say give it a go if you don't mind real bad service, food is good and not bad value. read more

Can I give it a half star or a no-star review? Ordered a takeout and was told it would be 20 minutes. Because I realized it was a new establishment, I arrived in 30 minutes, but it wasn't ready. Waited another 15 minutes, told still not ready, but when asked another hostess, found it was on the front counter. Got home, steamed oysters on a shell ordered with lemon butter ordered for my husband were so small, they could have been put in a sardine can; plus they were covered in a spicy sauce. (My husband can't eat salty or spicy.) Threw away. Daughter's family went last night and said service was super slow and meals less than a delight. Also, the "kids" working up front were polite but desperately need customer training. read more

I was very disappointed my first time at the Crafty Crab. I'm from Louisiana so I know what good Cajun food and seafood is supposed to taste like. What they call "gumbo" tasted like a thick vegetable soup, don't even bother getting it. Also, got a fried 1/2 oyster, 1/2 shrimp basket. The shrimp were good, but all the breading fell off with the first bite. The fried oysters smelt and tasted bad, I would not advise getting them. I celebrate my birthday here at crafty crab Pearland location with my family and friends , party of 30. we made a reservation 2 days before, no waiting when we arrived even they're busy at the moment . our table are in front of a hug tv with football playing. We ordered the mixed steamed pot with medium original Cajun spice. It was enough for the 3 of us, but I didn't think the spice flavoring tasted Cajun. The spiciness was ok, but next time, I'll order just garlic and butter or no spices. read more

My wife and me came in to crafty crab about a week ago in the morning and there was no host. I guess the young lady doing to-go in the front was having a bad day but at least a smile or taking the initiative to sit us is not asking for much. So we're already off to a bad start because we had to seat ourselves. We waited for about 10 and no one came. We evaluated how the servers were placed and they had sections. The lady who had her section closer to us made eye contact but did or say nothing. We were about to walk out but the gentleman who had his section literally from the far opposite side of the restaurant noticed that we were never attended to. I wish I saved the receipt with his name on it but his name was Quami, he had locs and was well dressed. He turned this 1 star review into a 5 star review. He made sure to communicate to the kitchen to fire up our food and kept an eye on refills without us asking. And every time he came to the table he had a smile on his face. This is what customer is about. May have caught crafty crab when they were low staffed but our server made it right. PS he said they're more lever to the fire which I'll try next time. Dominantly black restaurant me and my white family where ignored The entire time we were there our drinks were not brought out until half of our food was me thus me and my son was done with our food before my wife and daughter's came out we could not get any attention from any of the servers there was about 8 staff on the floor and maybe 5 occupants in the whole restaurant very unprofessional the professional if you are a white family I would not suggest you go there you're going to be treated badly read more

I really wanted to love it. I really wanted to as there aren't any comparable places in the area except maybe Lotus...however, after literally waiting 2+ hours for our food post ordering and watching several people walk out due to the unbearable wait; I won't be back. The food was decent at most but honestly nothing is enjoyable after a wait that long. The "garlic butter" was flavorless . It appeared that maybe garlic powder had been sprinkled in the butter as ours appeared a little grainy. The "Boom" seasoning was thin (almost watery) and salty. I'm more familiar with actual seasoning that sticks to the crab, corn and potatoes during a boil. Either way, it was all bad especially for the price. I don't mind spending the money but I expect the quality to match it. The only positive was that our waitress was pleasant and attentive. If you are extremely hungry and/or expecting to eat within a reasonable timeframe; choose another establishment. read more

Staff needs work and customer service training. It's almost as if no manager was on site. Staff sitting down in main lobby area while empty tables where guest had finished were left dirty for 20-30 minutes. Staff also needs to work on personal appearance and personal hygiene, especially working and handling food. The food was OK. read more

We ate at the Crafty Crab in Pearland, there are five of us and we all order... 20 minutes later 2 of the meals come out and the waitress says the other 3 dinners will be out shortly, 15 minutes later our waitress comes by and says they are still working on the other 3 dinners, another 15 minutes... still no food, and we can't get a drink refill, another 20 minutes and 2 dinners arrive. I cancel mine because I'm tired of waiting, the scallop dinner has so much seasoning on it that it is inedible. We ask to talk to a manager and it takes another 20 minutes for him to come by the table. The food we got ranged from mediocre to horrible and all we were offered the "employee discount" to smooth things over. This will be the last time I eat at Crafty Crab but I really don't think they will be open for a very much longer. read more

I really wanted to like this place, even though I read the not so glowing reviews regarding the service. Unfortunately, the reviews were spot on. The service was extremely slow, and the food was mediocre at best. The boom sauce was a bit salty and very basic. There were 4 orders of king crab legs at our table and we weren't initially given crab crackers. Our server finally came back to the table and asked if we needed them, which I thought was a no brainer of a question. I would love for this establishment to take heed to their reviews and make necessary changes. However, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

They call themselves Cajun, but I did not feel it in atmosphere, food (bland), or the music (rock). We had the shrimp basket, oyster basket, and gumbo. The seafood was cooked in panko bread crumbs with no cajun seasoning. The gumbo tasted unique with carrots in it. It tasted like doped up Campbell Soup Gumbo with added chunks carrots and onion. The one good thing we experienced there was that our waitress was very friendly and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. They better pick it up, or BBs is going to run them out of business. read more

We visited the crafty crab after a long day of hospital hopping (broken leg). My waiter, Alex, gave me a chair to rest my broken leg on which was very nice of him. He also helped my mom decide what to get and which seasoning she would like based on how she likes her crab. overall good experience. Above average food, Great customer service (many wished me good luck with my leg), and pretty clean. not to mention they have a huge TV right where everyone can see so if you are a sports and seafood fan I would highly recommend. read more

my boyfriend and i went there today and arrived there around 6:30ish . the host sat us right away. the tables were clean and the inside was decorated nicely. my boyfriend and i go over the menu choices and see what we want to order. as we are sitting there going over the menu not ONE single server comes up to us or acknowledges us. which is fine it didn't look busy in the restaurant but you never know . so we stay patient and wait. the waiting period lasts around 15mins we still have no drinks or even know who our server is supposed to be. at the 15min mark a waitress comes up to us and asks if we've been seen yet and we tell her no . she replies with telling us she'll find out who our server is another 5-10mins pass. no sign of the waitress so we get up and leave. in total we sat there around 15-25mins. so if you're looking for a restaurant to seat you fast but never take your order then this is the one for you ! although the customers around me plates looked appetizing i have no clue how it tasted. read more

The food was good but the service was horrible. We didn't mind the wait to get a table because there were 5 adults and 2kids. Once we were seated we were ignored for 30mins. Once the waiter decided to come over after being asked by the hostess, he approached the table and said "what yall want"? I corrected him immediately and told him at least saying hi would have been a better greeting since we've waited so long. He gave an excuse about it being short staffed....ok but still what yall want is not ok. So I guess he didnt like the discussion because it was another 30 minute wait for food. We only stayed because of the vested amount of time. Food came out warm. And he came back only once to see if we needed anything. Had to flag down another waiter who provided us with AMAZING customer service and a smile...just to bring our drinks. We felt like that was enough there to tip the waiter who provided drinks. The check came and gratuity was added . Ok no problem but why give it to the lack of an intro, excuses, total avoidance, warmand the extended wait time. We tried to address the issue with the manager who was explaining it to the waiter but hot headley he gave back the gratuity while missing the WHOLE POINT. The waiter that provided the drinks was greatly tipped for that brief but pleasant experience. STAY AWAY!! Went there for the "grand opening day". Have never felt discriminated against before that. We were given a 30 minute wait time with a mostly empty restaurant. While waiting, another group walked in and was sat right away. After we were sat by a server, not the manager or hostess, we waited for 30 minutes and never even got the appetizer. After seeing a group that was sat 2 groups after us get their appetizer and food, we finally left. Will never ever go back there again. Can't review their food because we never got the chance to try it after waiting an hour total. We were not the only ones who left. The staff was also clueless, not knowing the very limited menu. read more
