I took my truck in for 2 specific problems and neither was fixed. I had some squeeking/rattling and it is still there and headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The 2nd issue the headlight assembly i decided not to fix through them because they wanted $400 plus for the part alone when you can purchase them pretty much anywhere online for a max of $180. They also told me that they would have to pull the front bumper off so it was labor intensive which isn't true. You don't need to pull the front bumper completely off. I had the brake fluid exchanged which they charged me about $30-50 over what I would've paid at other shops. They wanted $156 to replace cover and filter for cabin air filter which i can buy from Nissan for both for less than $50. Takes 2 minutes to put in. Rear differential service they wanted $243 for and I took it to another local shop and paid $120 for it. They wanted to replace inner fender (truck has a lift on it so it was modified on purpose) and wanted $265 when you can buy it for $52 and its not that hard to install. Would i use them again, in short no because they are very much so overpriced on their parts. UPDATE: in response to the owners comment: " we were glad to pick me up and drop me off?" You didn't do either. I had a ride to get me when I dropped it off and I had a ride when I pick my truck up. Still not fixed. Lies! read more

I took my car in to have Craig's Car Care inspect numerous codes being set. They tested and inspected my car for three days. Unfortunately, no fault of how they were testing, they were not able to repeat the problem I was having to cause me to bring it into the shop. Without the problem repeating itself, they were not going to do exploratory surgery and throw a lot of parts and money at it. I APPRECIATE that! They provided me with a loaner car during those three days and didn't charge me for all the testing and labor they did on my car! They had to reattach a plastic cover under the bumper area. They also did not charge me because I am a regular customer. They went above and beyond in taking care of me. Craigs car care staff are very friendly and kind but I paid $2300 for my car to be fixed and it wasn't. Within about a week my engine light was back on. I gave them a call and they helped me out a lot by picking up and dropping off my car to fix it again. In a little over a month the engine light came on again. I took it to the shop and the staff were very nice and paid for my ride home. Then I picked up my car with everything good, but the next day my check engine light came on AGAIN. These are very nice people but they did not get the job done and costed a lot of my time and money so I would not recommend, unfortunately. read more

I'm glad I didn't read the Yelp reviews before trying this place out (they have 4.2 on Google and that's how I made my decision to call them) because they are certainly not a 3.5 star place in my opinion. I'll try to keep this review short by not describing all my issues, but basically I had a check engine light on my BMW 330i. I went to a repair shop in McKinney that I had used before to have diagnostics done ($75). They quoted me about $3,000 in repairs to alleviate the light and maintenance (spark plug replacement, power steering flush, etc). One of the items they wanted to replace was a cooling pump I had done just 9,000 miles before so I knew I wanted a second opinion. I called Craig's Car Care and Parrish spent 10 minutes talking through all of my supposed issues. Because the codes had been cleared by the last shop, he said they couldn't do the detailed diagnostics ($150 here), but offered to try just a plain code reader to see if any were stored in there. I went by the next day and Matt was extremely helpful. Extremely. He tested the battery and discovered it was bad; he noted often times that will cause b I izarre codes to be thrown and suggested we start with that. I brought it in a week later for a new battery and an overall 'Vehicle Health Inspection.' They do a very thorough job including descriptive text and pictures for all the areas of your car (including a few things I specifically requested the check.) The report is emailed to you and then they call to discuss it. In the end, I paid $650 for a new battery, alignment and spark plug replacement and my check engine light has not come back on! I felt that Matt (and the technician, who I didn't meet) were honest and helpful. I'm not sure I have ever felt that at an auto repair shop. I'll drive the 25 minutes (it's definitely in Lucas...) to these guys for routine maintenance, based on this experience. read more

My driver's side taillight cracked and water seeped in and shorted out the entire assembly. I needed to get a replacement installed. I called for an estimate and they said they could not give me an estimate over the phone, that I would need to bring my car in and have them do a full diagnostic to see if anything else was wrong with the car. They also said I couldn't bring in my own part, that they could only use theirs and wouldn't tell me how much they'd charge for that part. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I replaced some suspension parts on my MB E320 and took it to these guys for a front end alignment. When I got it back, it was far worse that when I brought it in. There was also a loud "BAM" when I would turn the steering wheel to the limit. I took it back, explaining that the alignment was terrible and there was a popping noise that was not there before. After a second look, I was told that the popping noise was most likely coming from my brake pads and that they pads I had on there might not be the right ones (even though they have been fine for about two years now). He also indicated that he didn't get too deep into it because "there was too much plastic to take off" referring to the engine shield. Dissatisfied with their answer, I took it to another shop where I was told that the upper control arms were loose. Tightened a couple of nuts and all is good now. Too bad the first guy didn't have more initiative to do a good job. read more

Update: went around the corner to a mechanic on Stinson Rd and received diagnostics, parts and labor for less than the $500 Craig's wanted to charge. Do yourself a favor and go to High Tech Motors around the corner. Will save you lots of money. Do not go to Craig's Car Care. I know we live in Lucas and it assumed that we have money and no brains when it comes to mechanics but my goodness. they don't have to be so obvious when it comes to trying to screw people out of money. They wanted $500 just for diagnostics. A little shocking. read more

I think the "premium" so called service should apply to their prices only. I took a rather old vehicle to the shop to get it running, and while they did get it running they made me pay up front, rather than when the service was complete. My neighbor at the time recommended the place and I passed his recommendation on but still asking a customer to pay for repairs that have not het been done was an insult to me. Also there were several suggested "needed" repairs that were not needed. When I got the truck home they had broken the temperature gauge and refused to repair it saying they did not do anything to it. I absolutely know for sure it was working when I left the vehicle there. This incident happened about 3.5 years ago and I debated whether to leave a review or not. It is disappointing that i feel I can't trust these guys as the shop is very close by. Even still their pricing is outrageous. read more

I had them change my brake pads and they turned my rotors. They did the work on the car fine and the labor costs are fair, but they significantly mark up the cost of their parts. They get all of their parts from Napa auto and they almost double to cost. $70 retail cost for brake pads they charged me $130 for them. And if they have a deal with Napa auto parts they are probably not paying retail. I would have been better off buying all the parts myself. When asked about this they didn't care, I think they assume people don't look and where they are getting theirs parts and take advantage of that. I would hate to see how much they mark up the costs of other parts. read more

They have done it again! I love the detailed diagnostic report complete with images, descriptions, videos, and labeled from urgent to suggested services. Once that has been sent they give you a call shortly after to answer any questions and to start work on what you decide. They mentioned the 2 tires that needed replacing in which we had scheduled to be replaced at discount tires the next day under warranty. They rotated the tires to put the 2 good tires in front. Also, we asked for an alignment but they did not complete. They knew it was a waist of our money to do this work because discount tire would do their own thing. They just told us to come back once the new tires were on! These guys are thorough, kind, and informative. Once the work is complete they even offer to drop your vehicle off at your home. I do not feel haggled or pressured and the work and extra service they provide makes this experience easy. This is your place to go! New to the area and dropped my car off at Craig's on Monday afternoon about 2pm due to an engine light being on. Having no experience with this shop and *not* being told otherwise, I assumed I'd hear from them Tuesday morning at the latest with a diagnosis and estimate as has been my experience with every other automotive shop With which I've done business. At 3pm Tuesday, having not heard from them, I called them. They couldn't provide a status on my car but did inform me, at this time, that they were very busy and I could expect to hear from them later that afternoon or Wednesday morning. At 3pm Wednesday, having not heard from them yet again, I called in yet again and was told that they still had no information for me but that I would hear from them Thursday morning. You'd think an apology would be forthcoming at this point, but you'd be wrong. Having lost faith in their ability to keep their word, much less provide quality service I decided to go get my car back. Upon arriving to pick up my car, I was greeted by a clearly irritated and rude employee who claimed, falsely, that he'd heard another employee tell me that they were very busy when I dropped my car off Monday implying that I was the one being unreasonable. Besides being patently false, my main issue was not with the excessive time they were taking to simply diagnose the problem, though 2+ days seems like more than enough, but rather with the utter lack of communication from them regarding the status of my car. Don't expect me to be ultra patient if you're not willing to communicate at all. TLDR: picked up my car with no work having been done because they couldn't diagnose the problem despite having the vehicle for 2+ days. read more

Needed a new alternator for my 6.0 Ford Super Duty. Had the part, and just needed CCC to do the install. I've done this before many times and with two people it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes on this particular vehicle, but this time I didn't have access to my tools. They quoted me $300 for the labor, so I said no thanks, went and bought the necessary tools at Harbor Freight (a $10 socket set), found a guy in the parking lot to give me a hand, and got the whole thing done (including tool purchase) in about 20 minutes. In fairness to CCC (the reason I gave the two stars instead of one) Ford's repair guide manual does suggest 2-2.5 hours for the job, which could justifiably bring $300 for labor. I believe the manual assumes the serpentine belt will be removed and replaced for the procedure, which, in my case, was not necessary. Any mechanic who knows anything about how to work on a Ford 6.0 PowerStroke knows how to lock out the belt tensioner and remove the alternator without the serpentine belt. Thus, I drew the conclusion that either the mechanic who quoted $300 either (a) had no idea what he was doing, or (b) was dishonestly trying to charge me $300 of labor for a job he knew would only take 10 minutes. Given that CCC has published multiple YouTube videos (under screen name "cazman408") where they demonstrate their knowledge of working on a Ford 6.0 PowerStroke, I suspect that the latter scenario is more likely the case. It was such a relief to find a local car repair shop. My Ford Expedition was making a strange noise and I was not sure of the reason. They gave my car a thorough checkup and let me know the status of every area. They did not try to oversell me but let me know what needed to be done for the noise and some small maintenance items that would save me from a second trip for repairs or my car breaking down.
