Dear Manager, I am writing regarding a recent service performed on my 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport at your Kwik Kar Lucas location. When I brought my vehicle in for service, the hood release handle was functioning properly. After the service was completed, I discovered that the interior hood release handle had been broken and no longer operates correctly. This damage was not present before my visit. Since then, I have contacted your location several times to discuss this issue, but I have not received a satisfactory resolution. I have also obtained an estimate from another repair facility, which informed me that there is a $199 diagnostic fee before any repairs can even begin. As the damage occurred while my vehicle was in your care, I do not believe I should be responsible for these costs. I respectfully request that Kwik Kar accept responsibility for the damage and arrange for the hood release handle to be repaired at no cost to me, or reimburse me for the full cost of the diagnosis and repair if I am required to have the work completed elsewhere. Please respond within seven (7) business days with your proposed resolution. If we are unable to resolve this matter, I will have no choice but to pursue other options, which may include filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and any other appropriate consumer protection agencies. Have used them for a couple of years. Watch out if you are female, they will take advantage of you. My wife went in today, 4/19/25, for an oil change. While there they tried to upsell her with air and cabin filters. This is normal and expected. She called me to ask about this and I told her no, they were ok as I had checked both of them before she went in. More than that, the cabin filter was just changed 5K miles ago at the last oil change and Kwik Kar had a record of this. After she told them no they went ahead an changed both filters anyway ay a cost of $72.50. Again, if you are a woman watch out they will gouge you. They have permanently lost my business. read more

I have been to this location twice over 5 year period and both times were for an inspection on a late model MB and oil change. In both instances I left and went elsewhere without issue. First time to another Kwik Kar and today Mercedes of McKinney I told them what I was told and they said well let us see. 5 minutes they returned and said sir there is no problem inspecting your vehicle, would you like us to do it. So I had it done there as well as the oil change. I'm sure it cost a little more186. All in but the fact that it's done is great for me. I will not go back to Kwik Kar in Lucas. It takes A LOT for me to write a 1 Star Review but here I am! How bad can it be, right? We pulled up for a state inspection service. They were all eating lunch. Was this a bad time to ask for a service? One guy gets up and starts walking our way. Slowly. Scratches his head. Rubs his eyes. I swear he was about to say, what do you want. I spoke up and said, we need a state inspection and an oil change. He says nothing. I ask, do we stay in the car? He says no, you can wait inside. No sooner than we stepped inside he was right behind us. He says, the tint across the front windshield is illegal. It wont pass inspection. He walks us back to our car and points at the tint. I expressed that we've had this car inspected 3 times over the years (not at this location) and no one has ever mentioned the tint? In fact, Ford did the tint, and assured us that it is 100% legal. He stands by his words and says, he will not pass the inspection. What choice did we have but to leave. We drove 3.3 miles up the road to Firestone. They gladly did the inspection and oil change. Yes, we passed inspection with no problems. Hope someone from corporate sees this and can see why their ROI is LOW. Hint. Hint. They are running off customers to keep their workload to a minimum. Did not honor a $5 off coupon that literally came from their own website. Was the only reason I chose them was because I had a coupon! Pretty ridiculous! I have never experienced such poor service from a Kwik Kar locations as this facility in Lucas. Ray Ellis, the founder of Kwik Kar, would roll over in his grave if this happened on his watch. Utter lack of responsiveness or concern. Phone calls not answered. Voice mails not returned. They just don't care. (Oil change and Safety inspect are fine) Brought car in with specified issue "Solution is X, cost is 1200, no guarantee" Did not believe a mechanic would not stand behind their work and figured they meant for the long term which was fine with me. Paid 1200 and drove off. Same Problem again. Brought back. "We looked at it and the problem is Y, That'll be $ more to fix that." So many people only write negative reviews, but positive reviews are equally important! My car tags were expired and I needed an oil change (according to my car's computer message) with my car inspection. I went to our nearby Kwik Kar on Angel Pkwy, since my husband has used them for his truck. Husband & I went to lunch. Imagine my surprise when she (Jazz?) called me to say my oil was fine & I didn't need the oil change, I should go by the mileage stated on my sticker. Many facilities have a reputation of upselling unnecessarily- but telling you that you don't need to have a service?! Kudos to them & a big gold star. HORRABLE BUYER BEWARE!!not even 1 star but I'm sure I'm gonna have to leave one star. So from the beginning he tried over talk me and tell me what was better for my car. I provided a quart of Lucas to add into my oil change. the car was done in less than 15 minutes. I drove it for two days and checked the oil. I have had a few experiences here over the last 3 years but I have never written a review. I have to say the folks here are super honest, no pressure and friendly. My first experience was when we were heading to Colorado with our 5th wheel and Ford truck. Just a mile from home the AC on the truck quit blowing cold air. It was under warranty but I did not have time to mess with it at the Ford dealer. I pulled in here and one of their guys took a look at it. He came out 5 minutes later and said I was good to go. He tried an old trick of slapping the motor box and got it working properly, no charge! My Ford dealer told me I needed a $139 alignment. It was going to be $90 here so I said let's go. The mechanic came out a few minutes later with a printout showing all my vitals were green and it did not need to be aligned at all, no charge again! I have all my state inspections done here and from no on I will have them take care of my routine oil and brake needs. read more

If you care about your car, DO NOT come here! I came to this location for an inspection, oil change, and to change my windshield wipers. I was the only customer there, so I expected my service to finish pretty quickly. I asked them to call me when they're done while I go swing by the Wal-Mart right next door. I shopped around for about an hour and a half and no call. I walk back and see that my car is finished. I also notice that the windshield wipers weren't changed. I walk inside & ask them what happened. Why I didn't get a call and why my windshield wipers weren't changed, especially b/c they were about to charge me for them? No answers, they just said sorry & went to change my wipers. I asked them if they thoroughly inspected the car - they said yes. But I know for a fact that my brakes need to be changed. I asked them about the condition of my brake pads, they said everything looked good. I was actually hoping to get them changed here during this visit, but thank goodness I didn't. But obviously, there was no inspection. I wonder if they even did an oil change or just slapped the sticker on my window. This place is not trustworthy. The people that work here don't care about your cars, they're just trying to make money & rip you off. You pay for a service, and they do the absolute minimum. If you do get your car serviced here, DO NOT drop it off. Make sure you stay & make sure they do everything correctly. read more

Took my truck in for an oil change, the manager tells me that my differential fluid is dirty and my brake fluid is also dirty( pointing at it through the reservoir. I told him that I had all of that done at the dealership only a year ago. I put my finger in the brake fluid reservoir and showed him that the brake fluid was just fine and didn't need to be changed. A clear attempt to upswell. Educate yourselves people. Don't be a victim of their tactics. read more

My fiance and I recently had our cars inspected here prior to having our cars registered with the state. We came here on a Monday right when it opened at 8AM, and we were actually third in line. Perhaps coming in right when they open isn't the best idea if you are trying to make a super quick stop. My car inspection went through fine. It only took about 20 minutes (after waiting for the customers before me, of course). The waiting room was nice and clean, complete with a coffee machine and play area for kids in the back. The customer service was lacking; the guy kept conversation to the bare minimum, to the point where I had to ask questions to make sure everything was okay before I headed out. Overall, I was able to finish the inspection even though it took some time. Customer service wasn't the friendliest, but hopefully that is just a one off. read more

I have had a good experience there before. But my mom went this afternoon and this lady was off her rocker. Not only was she unorganized and didn't get the memo about are oil change after we've talked on the phone to schedule an appointment. We then were waiting outside and she said we said tomorrow for the appointment however we would be out of town that day. When my mom gently went to take here keys back she stumbled and had a firm grip on her keys and wouldn't let go. I don't know if this lady was just having an off day but she treated people badly, had crazy eyes, and was all over the place declining customers in a rude way. read more

It's been a terrible Monday! I pulled into Kiwi Kar Lube & Auto at 6:06pm. 6 full minutes after closing and a gentleman came Out and informed me that had indeed closed. I exclaimed that my tire light had just come on and I was fearful I may not make it home. He quickly retorted with a "no problem, that I can handle" as he motioned me into bay 1.
