Have been here in the past and the broasted chicken is excellent. This time I tried the ribs. Very tough and not very tasty. I didn't eat it because I could hardly cut it with a steak knife let alone chew it! The service was good. read more

Service was a bit slow considering there was 2 waitresses taking care of maybe 4-5 tables at 3pm on a Saturday. The all you can eat chicken special is confusing because it's $8 between only during certain hours (which the other waitress actually confirmed), and then our bill showed the $13 price. How about you keep it simple so you can advertise ($8 chicken all day). The cooks in the back were loud, banging pots and making phlegm noises (that's appetizing). A few weeks ago, we ended up At a new place we hadn't tried. It was mid afternoon -- didn't know if they were serving but it looked interesting. There were a few tables just finishing up lunches so we were In Luck. The dining room was clean and friendly. The staff was cordial and inviting. We each had the special of the day (chicken, mashed potatoes,& coke slaw). The food was delivered quickly, thou not hurriedly. It was delicious!! We took our time eating. Our waitress was attentive but didn't smother. Today we went with a group of approximately 30 people who dined at the Sunday Brunch at Crandall's and I can't state enough what a great time we had. Even though there was only 1 server assigned to our large group, she was wonderful!!! She was completely on top of drink refills, cleaning up the used plates and presented the bills in a timely manner. The variety of foods offered was vast for such a small buffet and the quality was spot on. The dessert selection was amazing, but I was won over with the wonderfully fresh fruit they provided. It was stunning to me that in the month of March at one of the most Northern towns in Illinois we were offered perfectly ripe watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, etc... Heck, in the prime growing seasons you don't find fruits this wonderful!!! Would we back? OF COURSE WE WILL!!! read more

I am one of those guys who is starting this off by saying I've never written a review before, and I haven't. Don't even know how much I believe in doing so, but after last night I felt obligated to do so. So we went to Crandalls on a Saturday night sat around 7 left around 7:20, with no one ever coming to the table. They weren't busy, at all. Not one time after the host sat us did anyone ever come to the table, the table directly behind us got a birthday cake, ate it, paid the bill, before we decided to leave. I really wanted to enjoy this place. I'm not quick to voice my opinion, my wife whose idea it was to leave is in the industry. A little courtesy and common sense goes a long way, I will share this experience with everyone I meet. read more

Having lived in Hebron for 30 years I've seen this place go through a few changes. It was ran well when the previous owner Joe had the place. Food has only slipped slightly in quality but the service is poor. Went there at 8:00 Pm tonight (Friday) Not busy, plenty of open seating. Was seated right away and promptly ignored for 10 plus minutes. No water no. "I will be right with you". Nothing. So we left. This is not the first time this has happened in recent months. I understand busy in the restaurant business. Tonight it wasn't busy. The time before last we waited to be seated, which is fine got our rolls and water right away, 15 minutes past before our drink order was taken. And we ordered food right away. It took 10 more mins to get ice tea and additional 30 minutes for our chicken. Just not what it use to be. read more

Horrible service. We heard about the great specials AFTER we ate. (The server at the table next to us greeted her tables with them.) Oh, and apparently you can order what pieces of chicken you'd like. (Again, from the table next to us.) Then, all the rules! Really?! Probably spent an extra 20 minutes just sitting and waiting for our server to come back, and she only had 2 tables. On the bright side, the chicken was good. Don't bother with the fish. read more

Crandall's is normally jam-packed and you may have a slight wait - but it's worth it! When we have visitors from out-of-town, we love to take them to Crandall's. It has a great family atmosphere, the waitresses are always friendly, and the food is always fresh. Recommendations: All-you-can-eat broasted chicken and the chicken pot pie. This was my third visit to this restaurant and today's visit was very disappointing. The first incident was when I asked the waitress for additional salad dressing for my daughter and was told curtly "Give me a minute!" Then we ordered ice cream sundaes for dessert. When I got to the top of the sundae cup, I noticed a chip broken out of the cup. I brought it to the waitress's attention and she told me "Oh, I will throw it out when you're done." @ because our friends said it is known to be good.Many good reviews but we had a bad night haha?I think they cooked the Chicken big and small pieces ,Fish at the same time same oil?Wing parts unrecognizable and hard,fish was way over done and shriveled up burnt.These things have to be cooked desperately.The cook or waitress should never have brought it out that way.I would maybe try it again ,but would never accept the overcooked and burnt food again. read more

We stopped in here on Sunday on our way up to Lake Geneva with a couple of friends of ours for brunch. We had been here once before and remembered how good it was so we decided it would be a good place to go back to! You get seated immediately and the service is decent, but it's the food that stands out. They have eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham off the bone, broasted chicken (which they are known for), biscuits and gravy, BBQ ribs, stuffed pancakes, fried french toast which is AMAZING, a small salad bar and a HUGE dessert table which is bigger than the entire buffet!! Everything was amazing...I especially like the french toast and the chicken! YUM! And the desserts that stood out to me were the cheesecake and the chocolate cake. Moist and delicious and the cheesecake was SO good, too! The food is great and it is just about 15-20 minutes South of Lake Geneva...so give it a try if you are in the area...you will not be disappointed for $15.95 pp!! =] read more

My parents and I used to go there for years. When they moved back to Woodstock we thought we'd take them there as a trip down memory lane. The hostesses were so indifferent it was like we were invisible! It was embarrassing to bring the folks there and be treated like that. What a fiasco! Thirty minute wait on a Saturday. We were ok with it. This was our third time and I am done with this place. Forty minutes to get a drink, forty more minutes to get our food. Food is cold and the chicken special at $12.99 comes with a scrawny wing, thigh and drumstick. Order more and it takes twenty more minutes. I asked for more and the waitress brought them out no problem. Great traditional supper club! Takes you back in time. Awesome bar and bar service! Never had a bad meal...but want to make a special shout out to the gluten free coconut shrimp - amazing!
