Really amazing shop here. I needed to get my bumper replaced after a collision on my Porsche Boxster. First time working with them and heard about them from a friend that got his Porsche repaired here as well. Lots of exotics and sports cars in the lot and a wall of certifications and awards. We hit a raccoon with our Porsche late July and it did immense damage to the front end of our vehicle. We were devastated and had no idea where to turn so we contacted our dealership and they referred us to Sterling Collision Center, a small tucked away shop along the freeway. Never heard of it but they were the only certified Porsche body shop in my area so I thought, "What the hell, might as well give them a shot." We got to the lobby and checked in and were then greeted by James, a tall, spunky guy who seemed to know almost every detail of car repair which really set my heart at ease. I dropped my BMW off on 6/15/23. I was hit by a person who had Allstate. And they were taking 100% liability. Brian was the man who handled my case. He looked familiar to me but I did not recognize him at the moment. I asked for an estimate, but Brian said he could provide that to me later because the insurance adjuster was not available. He asked me to sign a paper. He said if Allstate does not pay for the repair, I am responsible. I told him that Allstate is taking 100% responsibility, there would be no problem. A week later, Allstate told me Sterling is asking $9478, and Allstate did not agree with the estimate. Before Sterling body shop, I got three different estimates ranging from $1482 to $4879. One of the estimates was from Caliber in Costa Mesa. I should have taken my car there. I got a call from Brian. He said since I signed the paper, I am responsible for the difference. He said he WARNED me. Allstate advised me to move my car to a different body shop. I tried, but Sterling asked me to pay $2025 if I want to move my car. They did not start the repair. They only kept my car for a week. After a month-long negotiation between Allstate and Sterling, Allstate agreed to pay up to $7673, but Brian was still asking me to pay the difference. One day, I was checking all the emails Brian sent. There was an email he sent to me 6 years ago. Brian also dealt with me at Newport Beach Ferrari and Maserati Collision Center in the past. That was why he looked familiar. I took my Maserati for some dent repair there. When I was picking up my car after they finished the work, I noticed there was a crack on my windshield. I told Brian about the crack, and he told me it was there from the beginning. I told him it was not. We were disputing at the parking lot for 20 to 30 minutes. I asked him the cost of fixing the windshield. He said it had to be replaced, and the cost of the replacement was $5000. The owner of the body shop saw us arguing, he said he had all the pictures before the repair. We checked the pictures together, and as I said, the crack was not there! The owner agreed to replace my windshield some other time, so I drove away with the broken glass. I checked all my windows once I got home. There were numbers printed on all the windows. Driver side front and back. Passenger side front and back and the rear window. They all have the same numbers except for the numbers on the broken windshield. I called a Maserati dealer and was told that the numbers should match on all the windows. The broken windshield was not mine. It belonged to a different car. I wanted to report to the police and wanted to post on Yelp, but I did not. First, they replaced the windshield a week or two later and it could be an honest mistake. So I let it go. By the way, the numbers on the windshield they replaced also did not match with the rest of the windows. Back to my BMW, after realizing it was the same person, I did not want to talk with Brian anymore. I asked for a manager, but he kept asking why I wanted to talk to the manager. I told him that I do not trust him. I told him about the Maserati windshield. I told him that he swapped my good one with the broken one and asked me to pay $5000 to replace it. And during the conversation, he said, "If a patient goes to your ______ office....., the moment I heard that, I stopped him, and asked him, "How do you know what I do? I never told you what I do. Is this how you do business? Did you do a background check on me? He said, "Are you a _____? I really did not know. I just guessed". I told him I just wanted to talk to his manager. Then all of a sudden, he said he would start the repair that day. No additional charges on me. But later on, they requested Allstate to pay an additional $1100. It again caused a delay. On 8/18/23, I picked up my car. It took 2 months to get my car back. I asked him again. What had happened to my Maserati? Why was the windshield swapped? He denied knowing how it was swapped. I told him that I am going to write a review this time. He told me not to put a false accusation of him doing a background check on me. I asked him again how he knew my job. Again he said he just guessed. Out of thousands of jobs out there, he guessed it right. By the way, this shop does not accept credit card charges over $1000. It needs to be either cash or cashier's check, no personal checks. I had to pay $1482 to the body shop for money I received from Allstate. I charged out $1000 with my credit card, the rest was a cashier's check. I wanted to get the car and leave as soon as possible. Just like 6 years ago, I had to stay in the lot for 20 to 30 minutes with Brian. This time, the car battery was dead. A tech had to jump my car. Newport Beach Ferrari and Maserati and Sterling Collision Center. Brian told me that both of the body shops are owned by a same owner. Two body shops. Two bad experiences. read more

After talking to the local Porsche dealership, I was given the number of Stirling's owner. He told me that he'd introduced that policy but he would consider working on my car. On Tuesday of this week, I was involved in a minor fender bender in my Porche Taycan. I made a claim with my insurance company and I took the car to their recommended shop and that shop never bothered to give me an estimate as they promised. I called my service tech at Newport Beach Porsche for a referral. He told me to call Ray at Sterling and I did. Ray was extremely responsive and asked for pics. I sent it to him and he said he can buff out the damage. I brought my car to him the following morning and by the afternoon, the scratches were buffed out and the car looks like it never was involved in an accident. On March 28 2021 I was rear ended by a impaired driver and my 2017 Porsche Macan. We show up and the receptionist said she didn't see our appointment even though we got multiple text reminders. She also said the guy was slammed even though nobody was there.
