I have no idea what is going on in these Covid times, but the sales associates here are so extra and even more rude than usual. I wanted this cake stand and my sales associate was pushing me to take the store display that had all these scratches on it, so I asked if she could grab one in the back. Well, Karen seemed like she didn't want to, saying in a exasperated "I don't know if we have any more in the back.... I'll have to check." I knew it was gonna go downhill from here with that unnecessary attitude. Just say, no problem! And check. Is it really so hard? Indeed, it gets worse. When I asked if someone could assist with me by helping me to carry some of my purchase (I'm pregnant and want to avoid carrying some heavy items) she suggested that I do the curbside pickup in the back. I've done that before and it's hard to find parking and you have to wait super long, so I say no thanks. She insists and was pushy about it. When a customer says no, please stop being so pushy. I was going to buy two cake stands but since I have to carry it myself I stick with one. Final straw was when I saw her attempting to stuff all the items in one large plastic bag. I asked to have her put half the items in a paper bag was she really got annoyed, "I ALREADY told you we are out of paper bags" Then started scolding me about the global shortages!! First of all, I don't recall her saying that. And secondly, I didn't realize she was an economic professor on the side. Note: there is no shortages, the price of paper products has risen and it looks like Crate & Barrel is trying to save on cost by switching to non environmentally friendly plastic bags. I am so over dealing with rude sales people. I don't understand why they aren't trained properly to be nice and polite? Honestly, can they just have a few self checkouts so I can avoid dealing with such unpleasant banter. The items at C&B are amazing, but the in person shopping experience is a big fat zero. read more

Horrible service! Didn't show for in home consultation. (They confirmed the appointment by text the day before.) No one bothered to call to cancel the appointment. I rushed home from work to be at home at the scheduled time. I called the store. I was put on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected. And apparently, the saleswoman only put table top when placing the order and forgot to put on the base. So have to wait another two months for the base and so we can put them together. Let me start off by saying, these people do profile.. I felt as if i was being followed? i kept having workers come up to me asking 'if i needed help'? i mean within the same 5 minutes and i kindly had to shoo away.. Secondly, there aren't many workers on the floor meaning I couldn't get any help, I had to call the store for the lady to come down to the first floor. Needless to say she ended up selling me an open set of Pyrex containers. I'm figuring these were returned since the box was opened... Next day it didn't fit my kitchen I tried bringing it to returns; i returned it better than the way she sold it to me and she's INSISTING for a no refund. But she sold it to be less then than 24 hours ago; still has the box, she sold it to me open and she doesn't want to take the return? She's nothing but rude and inpatient. I had to seriously BITE my tongue the way she was dismissing me away from the return counter; & she's the manager. Also DO NOT purchase anything without the BOX to the ITEM. This store only displays items with out the packaging because you wont be able to return it! Don't grab the items from the shelves ask for the box to it. I figure this store tries to limit returns based off their 'selling techniques' Customer Service said thats against their selling policies. If they try to refuse your refund with an ITEM that HAD a BARCODE, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Nothing on the receipt says a UPC has to be present. I appreciate all the safety precautions this location has in place for COVID-19. This store is so dangerous to go into because I want to buy everything! You cannot beat the quality, value, and customer service of Crate & Barrel and that's the reason why my husband and I had our wedding registry here. This location is near Rodeo Drive and there is conveniently a parking structure behind Beverly Dr. with an elevator that takes you directly to the storefront. This is one of the best Crate and Barrel stores. More convenient than the Grove because of mall parking. Beverly Hills has great parking and it's usually free. The salespeople are super helpful. They helped us pick out our dining table, dining buffet, and chairs. Also worth stopping by to check on their clearance items and deals. They have them gathered on the second floor. We got lucky and scored a great deal on our dining buffet. I give it four stars because Crate and Barrel is expensive, and haven't seen any furniture stores meriting 5 stars. Overall, I like Restoration Hardware more, but it's significantly more expensive. Crate and Barrel is our #2 choice - great items but still expensive. read more

Updating my review bc I came in person and I was unfortunately assisted by Nella. Talk about grinch energy. I had a couple of returns and though she did not ask why I was returning like Nordstroms and other stores usually do I opted to inform her anyways that one of the coasters was chipped and damaged so that she wouldn't put it back on the floor to be resold to another customer and she said "I don't really want to hear the details." I just laughed at her bc sweetie if you hate your job then maybe get a new one. Bc I could've been returning used products or something from Target and she wouldn't have cared. She didn't even look at the items. Then I began explaining to her that my returns had separate order numbers bc one was an online order and the other in store purchase and I started reading the new order number and She said, "I don't really need to know all of that. What's the order number" and I just laughed at her again bc had you just listened I was already giving you the order number. Then she kept saying that the order number should start with a 6 and I told her that it was online order so it starts with a 3. She was confused by this and called a manager over where he had to explain to her that the error was not the system but was in fact a user error bc the coasters I was returning were a set and not individual. So Nella, you don't even know the products, you have no idea that online order numbers start with a 3 verses store order numbers that start with a 6. Then to top it all off I asked for an email receipt and she just clicked print on her end and printed my return receipts and did not email them to me. Not sure why this location is rated so poorly! I've been here a few times, both by myself and with my fiance. Every time, we've had a great experience! The shop is three floors and loaded with friendly customer service people. It is the typical bright and airy C&B layout. They are literally right above free two hour parking, too. We recently went back for a semi-private registry event, where they open the store early just for select people. We had an awesome time--they had refreshments, a gift for going, and even demos. Everyone was super attentive and had great suggestions for those of us who already had a full household of stuff. Definitely a fan of C&B! read more

Couch ordered 10/31/21. 10+ delays and still waiting. It's been almost a year. Would have cancelled months ago except it kept telling us it was expected soon and now it pushes it back two weeks at a time just to keep us from cancelling. The store offers beautiful products, but the service provided by the interior designers (specifically, Sima) does not match its high-end status. My experience with my assigned interior designer was extremely unpleasant. She displayed rudeness and impatience in our email exchanges. When I sought confirmation on the payment amount over a call, she spoke over me and snapped, claiming she had already provided the information - when she hadn't. She charged me without giving me the final payment amount. Additionally, during the discussion of my payment details, she mentioned something about 'finance or rewards' without explaining what the two options meant. When I requested clarification, she reluctantly and annoyedly provided some explanation. I had to interrupt the conversation to address her inappropriate tone towards me, a paying customer. Subsequently, I had to escalate the matter to the store manager. I am profoundly disappointed at how rudely I was spoken to after investing significant amounts of money in decorating my new home. Adding that she was 45 min late to the initial appointment and promised me designed by Friday, which she didn't send - I had to follow up. During our meeting, she said she can offer me a 15% discount. Then on email she said she can no longer offer it. Then few days later emailed me again to say she got it approved by her manager and can now offer it. Why offer it on the first place of it required managerial approval?? As a result of being spoken to like a piece of dirt, treated like trash, have decided to take my business elsewhere. I am respected at places like Pottery Barn and William Sonoma. The one star is for their inability to provide customer service and lack of accountability. First the location at the grove accepts payment For an in store pick up item they don't have in stock. They cancel my order online, I call the store and the lady says yea we're closing down and not replenishing. No apology. No offer to help find the item elsewhere! So I call the Beverly dr location and yay they have the item ( tree collar). I pay over the phone and send my brother and his gf to go pick it up. My brother calls me when he's at the store because they told him they don't have the item the item has been shipped to me. I told him that's not possible I spoke to the lady this morning paid for it over the phone she knows you're going to go pick it up. I tell my brother to let me speak to the manager. And you know what the manager does?! She refuses to take the call. Who does that who doesn't take accountability For their own team. As a manager I've taken plenty of those calls myself and sure it's not the best part of my job but it is part of the job. The managers name was Catherine. I then told my brother to put me on speaker which he Did and I was able to explain that I had spoken to someone in the morning. The manager then replied to give her a second. They looked up my info and found that my tree collar was there and the item that they saw was shipped out was for a PREVIOUS order!!! Spoke with an associate at the store about how I need curtain rods for my new home. They advised me on which ones to buy and we placed an order at the store. I waited over a month and a half for the rods to be delivered due to some inexplicable shipping delay. They finally arrived, I opened the box to find that the ends to the rods were missing. I guess the associate didn't think that my new curtain rods needed ends?!? I called the store, turns out it will cost an extra $100 for the ends. Honestly, no thanks, I will return these pieces of crap and go to a normal store where I don't have to wait over a month for delivery with missing pieces. My boyfriend and I decided to splurge on a new couch for our new house so we came into the store, tried all of the models on the floor and picked the Pacific set. We were in love with it but hesitated because of the enormous price. But we figured we should take the leap to absolutely love our couch. When we placed our order it was set to be delivered less than 3 months later. Then it was pushed to 4. Then one piece in 4 and one piece in 5 months. Now I've been told it's been backordered and won't be to us until 7 months after we ordered AT THE EARLIEST. We have since been told that the couch was originally backordered but nothing on the site said that and none of the emails I received about updated delivery timelines said it was back ordered until the most recent change where it was IN ALL CAPS. We are now in desperate need of a couch and have reached out to customer service multiple times and are being met with nothing but "that stinks." But no help in trying to rectify the situation. We're paying over $3k for this couch that we're having to wait for nearly a year for (because we're pretty sure it'll be back ordered again and pushed back) and the best we've been told is that they're evaluate a potential partial refund after successful delivery... why would we wait god knows how long for a couch delivery when we have no idea what kind of compensation we'll get for the massive inconvenience? Talking about discounts for purchases this large that have a basically an unknown delivery date AFTER the delivery seems really shady and they'll have no enticement to give us the compensation we deserve because of their misleading delivery dates to begin with. read more

Don't be fooled by crate and barrel's obscene prices and location in Beverly Hills. Their customer service and behaviors are equivalent to a hole in the wall shop. I waited for months to get my bedroom set for my wedding. The day before the delivery, I got a call from them confirming my delivery and thought everything is ok. We waited and the delivery never came. After calling them, they told us that we had not paid our balance. As if crate and barrel would ever ship something out without people paying! It was their own mistake. Our balance had been paid at the time of purchase. Instead of actually calling us to communicate. They simply didn't deliver our merchandise and said their delivery schedule is full months out and I have to wait because of their own mistake. I am now leaving for my wedding, and they want me to wait months more to receive my furniture and are so bold and rude they asked why I can't wait until after my wedding like I should keep living out of plastic boxes. So incompetent and zero accountability. On the other hand they're so strict when it comes to returns or any courtesy, they offer NONE. They're are looking to nickel and dime which would be fine if we were getting service that matched it. I totally regret shopping with crate and barrel. Their manners are like terrible. Additionally I want to add that this issue was entirely one of pure negligence and poor customer service. After they claimed we didn't pay for the delivery, which was false, they claimed this issue was due to Covid. This issue was entirely their own mistake in being organized and accountable. We had been in conversation with the store representative and their warehouse literally the day before the delivery confirming we would be home. Through these months not once did they claim there was confusion about payment since we paid through crate and barrel credit card and they had our account information. We actually had to create a full account and card with them when we purchased. The entire idea that somehow we didn't complete our purchase and already received half our order is so bizarre. Crate and barrel are so bougie and full of themselves they would never ship a thing if we hadn't paid. They have made up so many bizarre stories to dodge accountability . I hate writing reviews like this but sometimes it's necessary and I feel like I am not the only one. I am a designer, and we are part of the designer trade program at Crate and Barrel. Needless to say this isn't my first rodeo with this scenario, but have never had a problem like this...for this specific installation, we purchased over $1500 in just accessories for last month. Out of those accessories I had to return about $400 worth that didn't work for us, mainly a set of 3 large vases that were not even taken out of the boxes, which accounted for the majority of the refund. This also included a set of BRUSHED BRASS marble bookends that I purchased, without boxes and price tags at the store at the Grove. This set matched well and was 1 of 2 sets on the floor, but they were missing price skus. The store clerk there found the sku and i bought them that way. When I returned them they were in a bag with a few other items but were wrapped in a Bed Bath and Beyond bag inside of another bag to protect them. I needed to go to the loading dock to drop off my bags as the items were large and I was unable to carry them all myself up from the parking garage. I rang the bell a few times in order to have some one let me in. A gentleman with a smile opened the door and even helped me get the bags from my car. Once all the bags were in, a lady came out and was very short with me. She said I could wait by my car as it would take her "quite a while to process ALL of this stuff". It was like 5 vases a few pillows and small accessories. When she finally returned, about 10 minutes later, she handed me the original receipt, along with one receipt that she processed the majority of the items on, and then a second receipt because she had forgotten some items so she had to process and additional refund, ugh, and then she handed me back the bag with the bookends ends in them. She REFUSED to return them. Why is beyond me. She claims they were "just tossed inside the big bag in a bed bath and beyond bag and they were not wrapped as they were when they left the store". And then says and they are "full of scratches". It's brushed brass. Was she jealous we went to another retailer? I took them out of the bag and there were no scratches on them whatsoever. She told me she still would not return them and that if she did she would have to sell them at least a 50% discount in order to even sell them. A lie. I asked to speak to the manager and she replied with "honey, I am the manager". First off, I am not your honey, and secondly, you should stop and think how you are treating someone. Be reasonable. I don't want to play the we spend thousands and thousands of dollars with your trio of companies every year in sales, but we do, and come on, you are fighting over a set of $40 bookends that probably cost you $5, so if you have to sell an item at half off because they are scratched...which they weren't, you are still making a profit. She left me with, "you can go to the Grove and try to return them there since that is where you bought them". Anyway my response to her power trip, I told her I would call the trade department when I went back to the office and have them send me a prepaid shipping label, and return them that way. Karen was an absolute gem to work with. She went above and beyond to help me understand my wedding registry needs. She explained all of the benefits to creating one and made it enjoyable. Her knowledge of the best items and WHY was beyond impressive. It's shocking to me that she doesn't get a percentage of the amount of money people will be spending off this list. She deserves it. I walked around the store for a good 30 mins only to be told by a male employee to just "download the app and scan" - but NOT Karen.. she made a genuine effort to explain, ensure and celebrate the moment. A wedding, hello. She made it memorable. I am so glad she was there to help me figure all of this stuff out. Crate and Barrel should thank her BIG time because I was about 5 mins to calling it quits before her warm smile and genuine self came over to assist me while trying to scan a $600 air fryer. Bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen accessories are what you need? Well, C&B's definitely representing. Though, Bed, Bath & Beyond is better, especially when you have their 20% or $5 off coupons. Contemporary art is more your speed? C&B's got it, though Z Gallery has more choices. LOTS more. Patio furniture begging to sit on your porch? C&B brings on the hotness, hottie! (But Pier 1 does it just as well, with a bigger variety, and cheaper, too). Kitschy house decor aching to sit and stand on your floor? Yes, definitely C&B will do you right, but Pottery Barn and Cost Plus will rock your world just as hard. So, what then, is the point of C&B? Convenience, my love. It's like buying all of your groceries at Whole Foods because it's next to your house, when you know you can save a nickel here, a quarter there by going to Pavilions, and Ralphs carries that particular brand of cake mix you like. (yes. CAKE mix.) Anyway... The only place where Crate and Barrel really stands out is in its furniture selection, which offers some unique pieces not really found elsewhere. There's a nice mix of old fashioned "grandma's house" stuff, and contemporary "we don't live in Denmark but our couch thinks we do" style. Even with all of the other offerings at this store, some styles at C&B are just different, and worth a look if it's to your taste. Prices are galaxies higher than IKEA, higher too than Bed, Bath & Beyond -- but below Design Within Reach or other dedicated furniture stores. Bring money anyway, though. LOTS. You'll come for a set of four placemats, and suddenly have dreams of a new coffee table, and will start working out angles in your head about how best to strap it to the roof of your Mini. This place was the pits. Seriously, they're doing some renovations at this location, so there were very few things on display. I'm not even sure how large this store normally is, but sections were taped off with plastic. Parking was bit confusing and with it being Beverly Hills, drivers are aggressive and rude. I got honked at 3 times going into the parking garage. I was part of a line of cars, so I'm not even sure who the lady behind me was honking at. Unless you're in BH for some reason, I would not recommend this location at all. read more

Just left this location and can not believe how terrible their customer service is. My fiancé and I came in to return a dish set from our wedding registry that arrived damaged. Katie was the employee who did our return and she was extremely rude and condescending. She clearly does not know how to properly use the cash register because what should be an easy exchange took 15minutes. She told us to go pick out the dishes we were looking to exchange because that would help her "save time". We do not know where these dishes are in the store nor do we know the exact name of the dishes. When we asked her what the name of the dishes were she sighed and said she didn't know either and would have to scan them, not sure why this was such a big deal to her, but she begrudgingly scanned the items and then told us they didn't have half our items in stock. Not a big deal, but how she handled the situation was hostile from start to finish. Katie should not be working in customer service because simply doing her job proved to be a huge inconvenience for her. I would not recommend anyone in our area to register at Crate & Barrel because if you need to come into the store for anything, the customer service was dismal. How did they hire this guy "KHOR." His energy is giving 'stay away from me, I need to get out of this place and I'm going to act like you don't exist and never came in.' He didn't acknowledge us once in regards to products in the 30 minutes we were there until we had to go up and ask him what the exact sectional that we wanted was since it didn't have a tag on it. He proceeded to tell us that they're closing and we're gonna get locked in. He said he'd print out the details and that's all he can do. He should probably learn to read since we asked him how many inches in depth it was and doesn't say that on the paper. Obviously his job makes him miserable so they should do him a favor and fire him and let someone competent come in. I'm going to get a sofa from a different place even though I was set on this one because I don't want to see his constipated face with his nose in the air everytime I look at it. read more
