Staff is very snobby and unfriendly. We returned a registry gift that came in the mail broken, and they couldn't be bothered to give us a bad for the replacement bowl. This is just for the furniture department. Unlike the Clarendon Crate and Barrel who is willing to bend over backwards for the customer, this furniture department is a lot more challenging to work with. They are less willing to mark down furniture when there is clearly significant damage to the pieces and they do not make an effort to see if the damage is repairable. Instead of being excited about purchasing the furniture, you feel like you are cornered into getting something, simply because they know it's a closeout piece in high demand. It's not a comfortable feeling to be put in a position where you as the customer are asking for something that the store should be willing to provide. read more

This store is amazing. This particular location is fantastic. The set-up is fantastic. When my husband and I started to register there for wedding gifts, we were like kids in a candy store. To add to our glee, the customer service was extremely helpful and very courteous. Honestly, I would love to move to this location. Oh yea, even cooler is the awesome view of Tysons Corner (and a peak into Georgetown) from this location's third floor. So awesome! read more

Awful customer service. My fiancée and I visited this location last Saturday to exchange place settings we received for our wedding and were told we could not do so. The place settings were in a Crate & Barrel box, still wrapped in plastic and had the barcode stickers on them. The manager Kandice was horrendous and should not be involved in any profession with customer service. She just kept telling us there wasn't a paper trail (since we didn't have the receipt) and wouldn't listen to us when we told her it was a gift for our wedding and all we wanted to do was exchange them for a place setting we liked better. It wasn't like we were trying to get the money for them put on a credit card or anything. We showed them to her off our registry as well as all the other Crate & Barrel items we received (dishes, furniture, kitchen tools, etc) but she would not help us at all. She was very rude and dismissive and wouldn't apologize or explain why she couldn't take them back she just continued to tell us, "there is no paper trail." Our interaction ended when she said something into her radio and simply walked away from us and never came back. We could not believe how we were treated. After this interaction, we are disappointed that we registered and received so much Crate & Barrel stuff off our registry. We do not want to support a business that is rude to its customers. How Kandice became a manager is beyond me. If you see her in this store and you need help, wait for someone else. read more

Expensive, but worth it. I purchased a sectional 10 years ago. It has been through my 13 year old who was 3 when I purchased it, my 10 year old, my 7 year old and now my twin 3 year old girls. People still compliment us on our couch. It's still stylish, and has held up to a beating beyond what I could have imagined. They are pricy, but worth the price if the furniture lasts this long. read more

Bought a dinning chair over the phone. Went there to pick up and realized it was out of box already, which led me to think this might be a floor model or retuned item since all my previous purchase came in the box. The actual pick up guy kinda agreed with me this chair might not be new, but the manager who happened to be there insisted it was. So we removed the wrapping, which was a bit teared, to inspected and sure enough there was black marking on the back of the chair. I ended up didn't pick up the item and decided to canceled the item on the spot. Wish they were honest about the item they sold were not brand new. read more

The manager of this crate and barrel is horrible! We needed to return an item from our wedding registry and they mistakenly sent it to the original purchaser instead of giving us credit. The manager blew us off and said she couldn't do anything, then when we pressed her, said we needed to ask the original purchaser for the money and that it's a flaw in the system as she walked away from us. Totally unprofessional! Will not be returning here again. read more

I went into this store (near my office) around 11:00am on Friday. Customer service was nice, and the cashier brought my three items (I called ahead) to me quickly! She then wrapped each one with care and offered a gift box and gift tag. Phone ahead! I was satisfied with the items and the quality. Parking was easy, and I'll certainly be back. read more

Crate and Barrel is a great home decorating and furniture store. I don't always care for their prices and if you're a savvy shopper, you can find nearly identical pieces elsewhere for half the price. Overall, I love the store and everything in it. This particular location is next to Cafe Deluxe, which is a great place to have lunch or dinner. I like to grab a bite to eat at Cafe Deluxe then walk off the calories in Crate and Barrel. One draw back to this particlar location is the parking and overall congestion of Tyson's Corner. Go during off peak times so you're not sitting in traffic. Try parking on the upper deck of the garage. I've had several dings placed in my car by parking on the bottom floor of the garage. read more

We purchased a bedroom set here in November of 2015 and since then we have received FOUR broken dressers and the issue still hasn't been resolved. We have been told over and over that the dresser would be inspected before it left the warehouse, and we just keep receiving broken drawers. We love the look of Crate & Barrel furniture, but have been disappointed in the quality and the customer service. We haven't received any compensation for this issue. Looking at the other reviews, it sounds like we aren't the only ones that had had bad customer service and broken furniture. We will be buying furniture elsewhere from now on. The only positive part of the experience was working with Kevin, who was a very helpful salesperson. read more

Most of the negative reviews for this store are based on customer service, and I understand why. Service at this store is extremely spotty. I went to make an online order today and the website informed me that if I make an order before noon I could pick it up the same day. I proceeded to order prior to noon and called the store a couple of hours later to ask for an estimate on when the order might be ready. I was I unfortunate enough to speak to Barbara who was quite rude and could use a few lessons in customer service and how to talk to people. When I asked Barbara for an estimate on when I could pick up the order, all she had to say, in a very hot and bothered tone, was that they have 200 orders to process and that my order won't be ready until the following day. Nothing closely resembling an apology. She preceded to put me on the phone with Eddie, a store manager, and that experience wasn't much better. Eddie's tone wasn't what I would have expected from someone at his level. When I informed him that the Crate and Barrel website said that orders place prior to noon could be picked up the same day, he could only pass the buck saying he's not responsible for what's on the website and that corporate refuses to change the website message even though corporate knows the store can't fill the orders on time. Sounds like a customer service training refresher may be necessary all around. read more

I love this place. Not only do they have the prettiest things, their customer service is also wonderful. I was looking for a particular ornament I had seen on their website and asked someone. When the first person didn't know where it was, she asked 3 other people to help her find it. When I got to the ornaments, I accidentally dropped one and it broke and they just smiled and said don't worry about it. I want to live in a C&B catalog. read more

We were given an aluminum leaf platter (SKU 505636) as a gift for use with food. Prior to placing some cheeses on it, we decided to rinse and wash the platter to remove any store dust and dirt. As we were washing the platter in soap and warm water, the entire dark blue-black "antique finish" washed right off and down the drain. When we dried the platter with our kitchen towel, the towel was permanently stained with the dark blue-black finish that continued to come off the more we wiped it. Less than one day old and the platter no longer has any antique finish on it. The brown finish on the underside is flaking off as well. We are very apprehensive to use this platter with food products, as it is anyone's guess what type of chemicals the "antique finish" is composed of. In addition, the platter continues to lose its surface coating. Very poor quality product. Given what happened, we seriously question using it with food products. read more

We went to the Crate and Barrel last night (a Wednesday at 6:00pm) to register in person for our wedding. We had been online shopping, and figured that we wanted to see the products in person to finalize. We were excited! The store itself had everything we wanted. It was laid out well and we were able to find a lot of things extra that we really liked. Our issue came with the deplorable service. NO ONE came up to us and help. We were never offered a registration "gun." I asked one of the sales associates a question, told her we wanted to register for our wedding, and that we had a question about the dinnerware sets. She answered, but never asked us if she could help us further. The kicker was that there were at least 2 other couples registering in an otherwise empty store. The store MANAGER was helping them out. She made eye contact with us, but never approached us. Bottom line, it was rude. It is no wonder that her staff was sub par. They were just feeding off the store manager's negative lead. It is enough to make us question whether we want to register at Crate and Barrel at all. It was a negative experience for something that should have been fun. I am wondering if it was because we are a minority couple. She did not seem to have a problem with the other couples who were not. read more

Crate & Barrel is one of the best place to buy housewares, utensils etc. Lately I have bought wine & regular everyday use glasses from here. Not only the selection is big but the prices are good too. Table mats & coffee mugs are also priced very reasonable especially during one of their sale. read more

Thought I'd throw out a couch review now that I've had the Troy chaise sectional for almost 5 years now. It's holding up pretty well. My wife and I bought it on sale. A not widely advertized fact is that CB, Pottery Barn and even Restoration Hardware occasionally have GREAT sales if you're on their e-mail/catalog list, so if you have the option to be patient, you can occasionally get a big discount on non-sale items. Anyway, If you're into the "Transitional" aesthetic, you'll dig the look of the couch, and if you compare to PB and RH, you'll like CB's flat delivery rate (instead of the preposterous supplemental $$ plus 10%-of-the-price delivery charges of PB and RH.) Our nephews were recently over and declared it the most comfortable couch ever, which made me realize I should share my find with you. It is scaled fairly small, however, so it's great for a condo or townhouse. It's got better bones than an offering from IKEA or World Market, but it's more expensive than either. read more

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to as a PSA, just to save people from wasting their time and money making the trek out to Tysons and the disaster that is this C&B location. Nobody who works there apparently knows the operating hours of their own store. I've gone there in person and been told "oh, we close at 9:30", and yet when I drove back the next day I was told "nope, we close at 9:00". Thinking to avoid a repeat, I called the store tonight to confirm their hours - "Sure thing, come on over, we're open until 9:30". Silly me for believing the clerk on the phone - once again the store closed at 9:00. In retrospect, it's probably a good thing that I've discovered the staff's lack of attention to detail -before- spending the $10+k that I've budgeted for decorating my new house at the Tyson's C&B. If I buy anything from C&B at this point (which is doubtful), it'll be at the Clarendon location (assuming they know their own hours). read more

Service at this Crate and Barrel is absolutely awful. I've been there a few times thinking each time maybe is just an off day but that certainly not the case. The associates I've dealt with are so snotty and not helpful. I called looking for a specific lamp and was told they had two floor samples in good condition so I drove from Rockville to Tysons just to get there and both lamps were damaged. Clearly damaged the shades were cracked! Very disappointing experience. read more

I went to this store after being ignored in another that I won't name. What a difference! Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. The stand out person was Staci!! She was awesome! She helped me find an alternative when they didn't have what I wanted. She even suggested a seasoning that had just been delivered and was not yet on the floor. She went upstairs to find it for me and that was above and beyond customer service. This is someplace I don't mind spending my money. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by this location yesterday to pick up some wine glasses we had ordered online. My boyfriend had come straight from work so he was a little dirty and apparently the woman working behind the customer service desk (in her 50's, lighter hair) didn't think he was the clientele that belonged in the store because she was EXTREMELY rude to him. She was very unhelpful and said she wouldn't go look for our order until he showed her the confirmation email, even though she said she could look by last name. She spoke in a very condescending tone, I could not believe they let someone like her work in customer service. We will definitely never be shopping at any Crate and Barrel in the future. read more

My sister and I are Crate and Barrel fanatics. I travel frequently for work and if I'm in a city that has a CB I carve time out to visit the store. My typical store is the CB in Annapolis, this is my go to store. However, yesterday my sister and I decided to visit the Tysons Corner store, My daughter just purchased a condo and I wanted to see if I could pick her up some items. The products were great however customer service was really lacking. It wasn't as if they didn't have a rack of employees unfortunately they just gathered around together chatting among themselves. Totally what I'm NOT used to especially from my various experiences at other stores. I was interested in a coffee table but I figure I'll visit the Annapolis store or go online to make my purchase. read more

Registered here for my wedding and received a lot of wonderful gifts. A sink caddy we received didn't work for our sink - the metal bar didn't sit right and it wouldn't stay. I went to the store with the original packaging, and told the staff that I wanted to make an exchange. My husband and I were treated extremely rudely, and the woman behind the counter acted like we were trying to scam them because I didn't have a receipt. She said she would have to get a manager. When we came back with the items we wanted to exchange for, there were about 4 staff members behind the counter, all of whom were in our business and extremely unfriendly. The manager was able to look up our registry (which, obviously, should not be a problem) and make the exchange - also unfriendly. We left the store upset about such a miserable experience and I have no desire to go back to that particular location even though I still have gift cards. I wish I had registered elsewhere instead of bringing business to C&B after the experience. read more
