I reached out to craters and freighters to see if they could help package my electric bike so that it could be shipped overseas by fedex. They agreed and outlined the entire process and told me to just provide some information on the bike dimensions weight and pictures of the bike. I emailed the information to them and then they ignored me for the next two and a half days. They didn't respond to any of my emails and when I called the customer service rep mentioned that the guy I spoken to was in, but was really busy. I then sent a yes or no email question asking if they were still interested in doing business with me and still no response. Paid them to professionally pack a 15,000 clock. They claimed they were experienced in handling antique high value clocks. Paid top dollar for packing. When it arrived the clock was DESTROYED. They had been given specific instructions as how to dismantle and pack. They never disassembled the clock and TOTALLY denied any responsablity. Would not give a refund or honor insurance claim. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY TO SHIP ITEMS. Craters and Freighters was recommended to me by an auction company where I purchased an item. I had them ship an item from Dallas to California, using FedEx tracking. On the date of delivery, I took the day off from work to accept the shipment, only to find that Craters and Freighters had called the night before and put a hold on the shipment. THEY DID NOT ALERT ME THAT THEY HAD PUT A HOLD ON THE SHIPMENT and did not respond to my emails. I ended up missing two days of work waiting for the package to arrive three days later. Totally incompetent! I shipped a pastel under Museum glass in an Airfloat box (total protection). Upon the return shipment they took it upon themselves to add Glassskin (a sticky plastic surface) to the glass. Thereby destroying the non-glare optical coating on the $100 sheet of glass. If they're going to purport to ship artwork, they should understand the materials and procedures! read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Was quoted $237.00 to pick up palletize, and wrap 32X radar guns for a police department. They picked them up, then 9 days later told me it was going to be $397.00 to do the same exact thing they originally quoted me for. Then on the day of shipping (10 days after pickup) they call me and say they only have 30X radar guns. The owner explained that they never counted them until now 10X days later which offers me no help. He offered no apology, and no reimbursement. $2000.00 worth of merchandise gone.And guess who has to pay for their mistakes, ME! I really do not understand. The mission was to pick up 32X radar guns. Wouldn't you think you are suppose to count them when picking them up??? I guess that they do not know how to count... My advice is, dont use them! They either steal merchandise, or they do not confirm your items they pick up!!! BEWARE...Called corporate and they don't care about anything!!! read more

Having used Craters & Freighters in various locations throughout the country, I decided to overlook the one star reviews that this particular location got and try them again (especially since I had used Houston & Tampa Craters & Freighters within the last few years with great results). I was looking to move valuable items from a family estate in Texas to my high rise condo in California. I communicated with a few of the Craters & Freighters folks while trying to get the estimate and moving details worked out and in the end, Choyet was the gentleman who helped me get it all sorted out, also giving me a more specific price compared to what I was originally quoted. I received the shipment of about 40 items in total, many antiques from around the world, 3 smallish pieces of furniture and 3 lamps, and they were perfectly packed into 9 large, padded boxes! The drivers helped me unload everything and stuck around while I checked the inventory. Any damage to the items had already occurred prior to their handling and had been noted on the packing list. We checked everything very carefully and even the tiniest pieces had made it in the shipment. In the end, every person I'd interacted with had been kind and patient and everything was wrapped and packaged beautifully and with the utmost care. So happy to have received the items safe and sound so I can enjoy them in my home! read more
