Went in for the first time this morning and I will DEFINITELY be back! Recently diagnosed with Celiac I am still learning about where and what I can eat. I went in under the assumption that there would be a couple of options, but nowhere near as many as a typical menu. To my excitement, I was wrong. Almost everything (except the croissants) is GF or can be created GF which is a wonderful option. Everyone who works there is extremely kind and helpful and they seemed genuinely excited to tell me about all of the GF options I had! They even make sure to bag the sandwiches separately to ensure there is no cross-contamination which is very considerate. Amazing food and service! I went with my mother specifically for a scone that we had seen a picture of and they were all out when we got there! After speaking to one of the owners (and enjoying some cupcakes for breakfast in place of the scones) he offered to hold 2 scones for us for the next day. When I arrived the scones were being held for me and they warm and fresh and delicious! We also got iced mocha coffee, a Vietnamese iced coffee, and an iced chai! All were delicious! Really cute place. Very knowledgeable staff, quick to recommend their favorite flavor cupcakes. I got the peanut butter. It had a peanut butter cake, pb mousse core, and rich chocolate frosting. My daughter got the vanilla rainbow, with "funfetti" cake and vanilla cream cheese frosting. Both were moist and decadent. I got a chai tea latte that was super creamy and delicious. I just love this place so much! Their breakfast sandwiches are so freakin good- great bread, thick cut bacon, runny eggs! The poblano crema should go on everything you eat forever. All of the cupcakes I've tried have also been delicious and you'd never know they were gluten free. The guys in the front are always so friendly and helpful. My 'hood has needed a cafe, well, since forever. Rantoul really hasn't had any decent places to sit down with a cuppa and a sandwich or treat. Or to grab a coffee and snack and run for the train. Crave solves that problem. First off they have gutted it since it was last the Cupcake Cafe. The new look is clean, chic, and dare I say cool? The tables made by a fused glass artist (and family member of the cafe) are gorgeous and just big enough for a Macbook or tablet. However, no wifi, yet. The flooring is amazing, the counter is beautiful, and the whole place is painted cool shades of blue-green. I can't wait until they get some art on the walls. So the vibe is clean and cool, how is the food? Oh man, so tasty. I snagged a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich while my wife snagged an almond croissant and a quiche. The croissant was fab- sweet in the right places and flaky in the others. The quiche was packed full of mushrooms and flavorful. My breakfast sandwich was also amazing. Loads of crispy bacon, a freshly cooked egg, and loads of melty cheese. I found the pita a little tough in places to bite through, but it was delicious. Overall all of our food was fantastic and cheap. Even though the wife got basically 2 breakfasts we ended up spending just a hair over $20, had we not been piggish it would have been well below $20. For $10 you can get a coffee and a sandwich to go. The coffee was only okay. Now don't get me wrong, it was perfectly decent coffee, but food this good deserves something spectacular. I'm also a huge coffee snob.The wife got the light/medium roast of their drip and I got myself an americano. The coffee was pretty good, but really paled in comparison to the food. If I were to go so far as to make a suggestion- George Howell's (local) coffee would be awesome with the food. Tandem in Portland, ME is premium but again, goes really well with baked goods. A program like Crema's guest bean- where they have a regular house bean and then something spectacular would probably do well here. That way they can serve up something like their house bean (whatever it is now) and then have something on tap for coffee elitist douches like me who will pay a premium price for good coffee to go along with their awesome food. The North Shore needs a location that does an awesome guest bean program, the only places I've found this are in Boston/Cambridge. Also, customer service here was top notch. The woman at the counter and men behind the scenes were super nice and informative. Once they have some wifi here, I can see myself logging some hours working here. This is a fantastic upgrade to the former Cupcake Cafe, but also to the neighborhood. read more

The breakfast sandwiches are incredible. Specially the herb and cheese bread. The scones are moist and don't need coffee to wash down. Much of what they bake is gluten free but sure doesn't taste like it. The guys running Crave are also very friendly and clearly passionate about their craft. read more

What a great neighborhood spot! Walk in and you can feel it and smell it! The pastries & cupcakes are all made in house. The raspberry & cheese and the Brie and pepper jelly croissant were excellent. We came in and got the breakfast sandwiches. They are huge! Clearly fresh made eggs unlike Atomic. We got the wheat with sausage and american and the gluten-free also with sausage and american. They both are fluffy and taste great! Did I say they are ginormous? I had to take a break in the middle of eating mine! Only thing is the sausage is just generic but it still tastes great! Also, there are other choices on meat including prosciutto. I can't wait to try that one next time! I'm also hoping that later on somehow they will get gluten free croissants... is that a thing? Crave Cafe and Bakery is wonderful! We have sampled many of their cupcake flavors, which are all amazing, but we highly recommend the carrot cake, chocolate mousse, and cookie dough. We recently ordered cupcakes and a small cutting cake for our wedding, and not only was everything absolutely delicious and gorgeous, but they were quite possibly one of the easiest vendors to work with throughout our wedding, and we are so happy we found them. Everyone who works at Crave is exceptionally nice, and every visit we've had has been very pleasant with everyone incredibly welcoming. The next time we're in town we're definitely going to stop in for a cupcake and to say hi! read more

Cute little spot, clean,and nicely decorated. Had the breakfast sammy--love how they serve it in a pita. It was delicious and hot and all the things. They also nailed my triple espresso iced latte without the dreaded over melting of ice. My toddler had a "chocolate croissant" that she enjoyed licking the Nutella out of. Messy but worth it. Everything else looked fantastic. Unfortunately there was no one else in the place.. Walked in at 8am and they were just turning on the lights, and filling he case. I beg the owners to consider opening up earlier. With a prime spot near a train station, they should be churning out coffee and goodies to the commuters. I would kill for a good breakfast place across from the Salem train station some days! Those with "day jobs" (nevermind kids!) have been up for hours by the time they open. How many trains leave Bev depot before 8am? Can't imagine how this shop will survive otherwise, and I would love to make this a regular spot. read more

First time here and even though they were unexpectedly out of cupcakes (someone had bought 4 dozen earlier without preordering) the treats we had were fabulous!! A blueberry scone and a cinnamon croissant with a wonderful iced coffee truly made up for it. Both treats were delicious and we will most certainly be back! read more

This place is one of the best things around. Beverly has come on strong in the last few years with new places but Crave has outdone them all. It started out as a small cupcake place and the the new owners took it over and radioed it to a new level. They still have the cupcakes but they added scones express drinks cold brews ands teas. They have the most incredible croissants filled with different things like ham and Swiss Brie and pepper jelly. They have breakfast sandwiches that will make you sing in the morning for joy. Great fresh ingredients and quality food. And to round it out the guys working here and the owners are so nice and helpful. I am borderline obsessed with Crave. Is a weekend without at least one breakfast sandwich from Crave even really a weekend? Turkey, egg, and Swiss on the gluten free herb cheese bread is my go to. i came for the first time a few days ago and got an egg and cheddar cheese on the fluffy pita (LOVE the pita.) It was really good and it tasted just as if I made it myself at home. Crave has excellent coffee, croissants, sandwiches, and baked goods. They also have delicious gluten free items. The staff treats all of Crave's customers very well. They very quickly have you on a first name basis. I stop there for coffee and their delicious food several times a week. read more

Best café in downtown Beverly, for my money. Comfy seating, yummy treats, super friendly staff, and AIR CONDITIONED. I find this place much more welcoming than a certain large café on Cabot. Rantoul street construction is no longer that much of an issue either. Check it out! read more

This café is a great addition to the center of Beverly. My friends and I went there to try it out after hearing many great reviews. We each got a breakfast sandwich on their delicious pita bread. Although the sandwiches were a little on the expensive side, they were well worth it! I got a mocha latte which was great as well. We tried a few flavors of cupcakes, which were okay, just not super sweet or moist (besides the carrot cake which was fantastic!) Overall, would highly recommend trying it out! read more

Have heard a lot about this place and made my 1st trip here . Don't know why I waited so long. Had their "Whole Hog" breakfast sandwich which was incredible. Bacon, ham & sausage patty with and egg & homemade ketchup. Absolutely delicious. I don't remember what my wife had but she totally enjoyed it as well. Also purchased a couple of scones for an afternoon snack. Delicious as well. Friends have been going here for a while and I can see why. Will definitely be tasting them again soon. read more
