My friends from Boise wanted to treat me to a nice Boise dinner so we opted for a place with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I'll start with the this, the atmosphere at Crave was lively and welcoming. Once sat, our server greeted us with a smile. We got down to business and ordered drinks (which they have PLENTY of) and appetizers: Spinach & artichoke dip - Warm spinach and artichoke dip, goat cheese, gruyère cheese, roasted red peppers, house crackers - nothing to write home about as far as a spinach & artichoke goes. If you've had one, you've had them all. SHORT RIB DUMPLINGS - house made dumplings, whiskey braised short ribs, horseradish miso broth - the wagyu made all the difference in flavor, it made for a good meaty, well balanced meat to fat ratio. The sauce was interesting, it was a Chinese/Italian fusion that could have almost passed for soup. For dinner we ordered: LOBSTER & SHRIMP GRILLED CHEESE (x2) - poached lovster, grilled shrimp, American cheese, smoked Gouda, Gruyère & mixed herbs - this was quite the remarkable "grilled cheese", the lobster and shrimp was plentiful and filled each bite with a morsel of either or both. The gruyere and Gouda were the perfect nutty gooey addition to the buttery toasted bread. Crave is my all time favorite restaurant in the Treasure Valley. This is a go to stop when friends and family are visiting town. Everything I have tried on their menu has been delicious. A crowd favorite is their Rosemary focaccia with a truffle honey ricotta spread. It is truly divine. My favorite entree is the Thai steak and noodle salad. I've tried to recreate it at home but nothing can compete with this. They also have a great selection of cocktails to choose from as well as desserts. Came for a birthday dinner with friends. We arrived a few minutes early and decided to have a drink at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. My friend chose a beer and I had an espresso martini which was excellent! Love the layout and ambience. They arrived and we moved from the bar to a comfortable booth with plenty of space for the four of us. When it was time to order, I asked Jacob, our server what his favorite thing was he immediately answered without hesitation, that he really liked the honey chipotle pork shank. I tend to go with what the server recommends, because they know best. It effortlessly fell off the bone and was spectacular. One of my friends tried a bite and said she should have ordered this as well. She had the chose the tacos and said they were good. Another friend had the double stack burger and she said it was good and cooked perfectly. The birthday girl chose the chicken pappardelle pasta, which looked delicious and she left nothing on her plate. When it was time to order dessert, Jacob said that they were all out of the "birthday" dessert, but he suggested a layered cake with a fancy candle on it that came with, I think 5 different layers. It was so good and moist. If you're thinking of coming for a special occasion, they do offer special custom cake orders, but require 48 hours notice. We had lunch there on Sunday after church. it was my first time, but my wife had lunch there before with friends so she took me so I could experience the great food and atmosphere. My entreé was delicious but overpriced for a standalone pasta dish - that is, no vegetable, no bread; not even a garnish. My partner's entreé was to have shrimp and clams but the shrimp weren't any larger than the tiny clam pieces. Also standalone. Food came within 10 min. of ordering! Crave has been on my list to try for a while and overall, it was worth the wait! This place is modern yet comfortable and inviting at the same time. We received a friendly greeting and prompt seating in the large group/wine room (we had a party of 8). The room is mostly for larger parties and was incredibly perfect for our party until other large parties joined the room, which made it incredibly hard to chat with friends. Our server Tammy was very friendly and accommodating. We received our drinks promptly and refills were consistent. Ordered the Crave fish tacos, changed the side from couscous to a side salad with ranch dressing. Hubby had the crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Everyone at the table received their food and then uncomfortably waited for my food to come out about 3 minutes afterwards. The tacos looked scrumptious and larger than I've found at most places in Idaho, which I appreciated. The slaw and avocado were very fresh and the fish was crispy without feeling deep fried. The salsa that is included is very savory with a nice kick, though not too too spicy. The downside was the side salad....dressing was so light that I could barely taste anything but raw lettuce. It's a very artsy salad with sunflower seeds and yellow tomatoes; rustic but a pass. Hubby liked his sandwich a lot and the double fried fries were crispy delicious. I thought the sandwich was a little dry, but he loved it. Gratuity is automatically added for parties of 8 even if the bill is split between parties. One of my sister's favorites spots we come here everytime we're in town. I enjoy their drinks and food, and love coming back! Must haves are the Short rib dumplings, focaccia and the butter is to die for. My family usually gets the meatballs as well and while they're good I just love the dumplings, so if I had to pick one. I usually get a tuna roll, I had the crave roll which was good, last time the tuna tacos which were amazing but I heard they don't have anymore. We dined tonight for a late Mother's Day dinner and had the best experience. Our server (blonde male with a B name) was so great and took top notch care of us! It was the perfect setting for a nice, treat yourself, but not in a stuffy way.. kind of evening. The drinks were delicious and you could taste so much flavor in the juices that are made in house. We started with spinach and artichoke dip and a lobster & crab roll and I'll be dreaming about the roll tonight. We were in Eagle and I've heard Crave is good. So we stopped by for a "I'm starving, but don't have a lot to spend snack. The $$ was misleading. A little more expensive than I thought. I ordered the wedge salad not realizing that the wedge was out of romaine lettuce. I thought wedge was iceberg lettuce with creamy blue cheese and some extras. I should have studied the menu description more intently. I asked for a side of steak , just 4 ounces. My server did not tell me my steak was the price of the salad. The steak was amazing! But I would not have gotten it if I knew it was going to be $14 by itself. This was just an add on. The salad was not impressive and the salad dressing was thin. There was sooo much lettuce. Skimped on bacon and tomatoes and wimpy flavored dressing. My son got the Thai Noodles. He said it was okay, not great. My daughter in law the wedge salad, which I already covered. My husband got the salmon salad. The salmon was very flavorful with a blackened crust and so nicely done and very tender. His salad had something called pepper drops on it. Those were a fun surprise! They tasted like a pepper flavored cherry tomato. There was not much salad dressing and he had to ask for an extra serving of dressing on the side. Since I was so hungry, the salad didn't cut it for me. And I was irritated I spent $30 on a salad. I was glad we tried it, but I probably won't be back. read more

This has been the best restaurant in the area we have been to. We came here for dinner twice before deciding to have our wedding dinner here. The food and service is always amazing. We recently had our wedding dinner and Chef Micah and Pastry Chef Rich made an unforgettable dinner. To start everyone along the way from the owners to the coordinator were helpful in getting everything set up. They were able to accommodate our party size in the wine room. On the day we were able to set up our own decorations with their help and the room came together perfectly. Once the room was ready Rich brought in the cake and it was beautiful! Exactly what we wanted! The filling was strawberries and cream. The cake was so moist and so delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and creamy with a good texture. Our dinner had a spread of appetizers from the spongy delicious focaccia to ahi tuna! The entrees included their Filet Mignon, Chilean Sea Bass and Honey Tennessee fried chicken. The Chilean Sea Bass is probably the best prepared we had ever had. Every dish was a hit and was delicious. I ordered medium rare and it was very rare and chewy. I'm not even sure it was an actual ribeye as it didn't have any marbling or flavor like a traditional ribeye. The short ribs or pork shank are fall off the bone melt in your mouth goodness. All the sides are insanely tasty and the mushroom couscous is the best I've ever had. The desserts here are where the real magic happens as the chef is a chocolate master. Get anything with chocolate and you will go home happy. I took the family out for a special ocassion ( not wanting to drive to east boise or downtown) we ended up at Crave on eagle road. We were put in the corner of the bar area where it was a little noisey for our group, and we were difinitly overdressed as there is no dress code. The establishment was very busy and everyone had a good time, however i will mention we ordered a couple 8oz filets, that at best started out at 5 ounces ( I've recently purchased a half dozen 8 oz filets from Albertsons and these were no where near that size). It wasn't worth $10+ per ounce, but we overall had a good (service) and experience. Glad to see it's busy and will be around for a while. read more

I have been here twice for lunch and 2x on a Sunday for the prime rib meal. The servers are always attentive and helpful. The beautiful interior is very modern and comfortable. For my lunches I have had the Crave spicy tuna sushi roll which was incredibly fresh with the right amount of spice. I had the Texas wedge salad and the Thai Steak & Noodle salad. Both included fresh crisp greens & vegetables and were beautifully presented. I love the variety of salads that take you from Texas to Thailand. We visited on 2 occasions for their weekend prime rib dinner. The prime rib is a large serving served with mashed potatoes, I am not a masher girl so opted for fries which they gladly made the change for me. The prime rib was perfectly medium rare served with a side of horseradish and beef au just. I just love that I can count on Crave for my prime rib craving. My husband had the burger cooked medium rare and it never disappoints. I like the variety of food that Crave has to offer without sacrificing quality. The menu never feels stale. It was ok! I cannot rave or crave anything about this restaurant. We are big food people and most things fell short . Rosemary focaccia bread was sliced dry regular bread with some rosemary on top. My steak pieces were different temps , some extremely rare with a side of bland lunch lady mashed potatoes in an ice cream scoop shape . Sushi wasn't great. Pasta was way too al dente but decent flavor. Dumplings tasted like the ones from Trader Joe's and were mushy inside but the broth was flavorful . This place great! It's been a couple years since I've gone and I remember it being good and they have continued to keep their standards high. The building and design is modern and has comfortable inviting feel. Hostess seated us right away but wasn't super friendly, didn't smile once. Server was great. I can't remember his name a blonde attractive young man who was very prompt and attentive. Was great about getting drink refills before needing to ask. Great at clearing trash and very friendly. Food was good. We had the hot plate with meat and crave tacos. Both were wonderful. I could say the salsa could use more spice and the tacos definitely needed more salt.
