I got the bbq Mac n cheese but I tried the TBA and the pizza sandwiches and they were all amazing. We especially loved the TBA with the tomato soup. The potato and ham soup was also perfect. Cute little restaurant in downtown PG. Service was fine, a smile goes a long way... As mentioned on the wall, it's not quick 10-15 minutes for your order. So expect that, I was in no hurry. I tried the monte cristo sandwich deep fried. For a half of a sandwich it is fairly pricy $5.25. Everything but the turkey was good deep fried, it was like the turkey was overcooked when it was fried. The bread and ham were amazing. I didn't love the raspberry jam. I had a Little Dipper of tomato basil soup which was really good. Those are $1. Not really the sandwich to dip into this. I just didn't want a lot to eat. Overall it was a pretty good place. I had been in before but was disgusted and it took me about 2 years to come back. I would try either not having it deep fried next time or a different sandwich. read more

After hearing all the rave reviews, I decided to try this place for a late lunch one Saturday recently. I should start off by saying that the food was mostly pretty delicious and they have a very large menu. I even sampled their grilled Twinkie which, as far as abominations go, was surprisingly worth my time. Hey, I'm a Texan, I see fried junk food, I try it. For lunch, I had the February special which was some kind of BBQ beef with cheese, cream cheese, and onions. The spouse got a French dip and fries. My BBQ sandwich was a bit light on the actual beef but otherwise very tasty. I'd recommend it. French dip was good but unremarkable and the fries tasted a bit oily, like they had been cooked in old oil. I hear good things about the monte cristo but haven't tried it myself. Mostly though, I just kind of left with a bad (figurative) taste in my mouth from the overall experience and customer service. The place was dirty, with napkins and crumbs on tables and floors. The few tables left (it was busy) were rickety and rocked back and forth. I get it when you're going for the old country house/shabby chic vibe, but the furniture really needs to be more solid structurally. The servers all were borderline unfriendly--barely smiled, seemed a bit put out or stressed out. And finally, I guess I was just rubbed the wrong way by the several signs they've put up around the dining area justifying their high wait times--apparently sometimes up to 25 minutes or more. Look, I understand that good food takes time, but they're just grilled cheese sandwiches and French fries. This isn't a high-class Michelin star establishment. I have both worked in restaurants that produce these items and patronized other restaurants that serve them, and that has never been the norm in any of them. I do not understand what could possibly take that long. At the very least, fries go in a fryer for, like, three minutes, max. It sounds like they need to invest in more kitchen equipment or shell out to hire more staff, or both. Regardless, I got the "the customer is wrong and don't you dare complain" vibe strongly from the place. I just don't like walking into a restaurant feeling like I'm an irritation by default. It's good. I might return. Won't be high on my list. read more

On June 30, I went here. There were 5 other customers. It took 35 minutes for my food to arrive. The food always takes a while, but this was excessive. More annoying was when a customer came in, missing some items from their To go order. There was a nice lady who was obviously new and was being trained. She didn't verify the order contents before sending it. The lady training her was pretty rude to the trainee over this. The tone of voice and the condescending wording was difficult to see. I hope it's not like that all the time for the trainee. As far as the actual food goes. It's tasty. I recommend it. The staff are always cordial with customers. You shouldn't have a problem. But I just wish the food came out faster and the staff were kinder to trainees. read more

Stopped for a family dinner on a Saturday evening before driving up the canyon. We try to eat unique foods when we travel- this pretty much screams "Utah." Thick white bread, lots of cheese, funky painted mismatched furniture that looks like it came from the local thrift store, and super friendly service. The kids enjoyed the KISS, pizza sticks, and ham and cheese. Hubby loved his monte cristo, and my protein salad was just as over-the -top as the grilled sandwiches. Not sure if this place is worth the high rating they have here. The grilled cheese was good, don't get me wrong, but it was quite on the greasy side, and the bread wasn't anything to write home about. It honestly seemed just like grandmas bread to me, I could be wrong but that's what it seemed like to me. I love grandmas bread as much as the next Utahn but there wasn't really anything that made the grilled cheese any more impressive than ones I have made at home. At least they were reasonably priced. The grilled cheese would have gotten them 4 stars. My husband did really like his, although it was equally super greasy. But the deal breaker for me was their Mac and cheese. From the other pics I had seen online this stuff looked amazing. Unfortunately it was inedible. Some of the noodles were undercooked while others were absolute mush. Their bacon tasted super off. Almost oddly sweet... My husband agreed, their was something off with their bacon. I will say we did go on a Friday night and it was quite busy. Wish I could give more stars! Cravings' gourmet grilled cheeses are the kind of food I would travel the world for. I can't believe they are practically in my back yard. My favorites are Swiss Days & Thanksgiving. Be sure to try the parmesan or cheddar on the outside of your grilled cheese. It's *chef's kiss*! Remember to be patient with them. They are understaffed. I would not typically recommend consuming the amount of cheese that is standard on the gooey 6 cheese sandwich. Thus, I brought a friend and we swapped half of it! I think I need to go back to try monte cristo and the ultimate protein salad, oh and definitely the turkey bacon avocado. This first time we just tried the gooey 6 and the super gourmet (addon avocado at cost, it was really tasty) with the tomato soup combo option. They are not slow. I've had slower service at comparable but more chain style eateries around utah county. Just wanted to refute that complaint that I've seen on their reviews. The place was almost full 30 minutes before closing and I hope they do that much business pretty consistently because they are above average. The sandwiches here are really tasty. They have GF options which are great! My only complaints are... the wait time is pretty long which is surprising since they're just making sandwiches and when we went and dined in they had their fans going which were super strong causing the paper under the sandwiches to blow onto the floor. We loved our meal here! I've never enjoyed the Grilled Cheese concept very much, but it is well-executed at Ceavings Bistro. Two of us split the French Dip and Monte Cristo. The French Dip was absolutely to die for! Incredible, REAL au jus with perfectly tender pot roast and delicious grilled onions and provolone. The chef had my number! The Monte Cristo seems to be the fan favorite, and although it was good it didn't bowl me over like the French Dip. We were a bit put off by the cleanliness level of the restaurant. In addition to the grungy interior, the floors weren't swept and the tables were sticky. If it was a little more inviting or well-kept, I wouldn't have any problem giving 5 stars. read more

I really love the food here! The ultimate protein salad is a culinary delight. The reason for the 3 stars is unfortunately due to the wait. If you would like to dine here then make sure that you have an hour or more set aside to do so. As much as I love this place it isn't an option for me to have lunch at due to the high likelihood of taking more time than I have allotted. I have also tried calling in my order in advance but found the timeline to be inaccurate. I placed an order for the ultimate protein and was told 15-20 min. I showed up 20 min later and still had to wait another 10. 30 minutes for a salad with a cooked chicken breast is a little too long. Especially considering that I ordered outside of peak business hours. I would prefer to give this place nothing but love because the food is wonderful. But, for me to become a regular things would need to speed up. Also, they have a kids area which is great though could use a deep cleaning. read more

Cravings Bistro has recently become one of our favorite spots for a quick, and consistently delicious bite to eat. I truly regret not giving them a try sooner! The sandwiches are unrivaled... I especially recommend the TBA and ABC. My husband can't get over the amazingness that is their tomato soup, especially paired with their sandwiches. I really want to love this place, the food is so, so good! Especially the Parmesan cheese crust for the sandwiches. The Monte Cristo is also very delicious. However - this place really should invest in some more training for their front end staff. Whenever I go in, the person behind the counter is doing too many things at once (it appears) and because of that is very slow at helping. The cashier I've done online orders with also do not seem to be very familiar with that system. Today, when I picked up my online order the cashier requested me to pay for it again - she didn't know / didn't seem familiar with the fact that I paid online. Overall, the food is great.
