Now I must say I wasn't expecting to come here and wait but... being that I hadn't seen my friends in a while we hadn't enough conversation to occupy our time, but the wait was about 35 mins. Granted this was an impulse decision. The service was insane! Chris was on it for them to be as busy as they were. Refills came without asking. He checked in often. He brought out all type of extras without us having to ask. Thanks for you the experience definitely made the wait time almost irrelevant. We had the crawfish eggrolls. BABYYYYY! These eggrolls (spring rolls) are lightly fried stuffed with something similar to their crawfish fried rice. Soooooo tasty. I could've just eaten those and been satisfied. I loved this place and can't wait to go back! Crawfish season just started and they had huge crawfish! The boil here is nothing like Colorado, it's not overloaded or drenched in butter or oil. The seasoning is delicious and addicting. The spice level was perfect. Not too spicy, had a good kick where it was still enjoyable. The one thing I would change is to either have more sauce, or that it needs to be mixed better, because when we got to the bottom of the pan the last of the crawfish had all the flavors and spice. And a combo offering or half pounds offered would be great as well, esp when you wnat everything but don't have the big stomach or appetite to eat it all. Our service was okay- she wasn't as attentive, forgot our order of rice and still charged us. Water was barely filled. She approached the table next to us first when they were sat after. The food makes up for the service. The parking lot is horrible honestly. So when there is a wait, which there usually is - it is very chaotic trying to find parking. The inside is spacious and huge. Very casual. They even added a patio area for more seating and when we went that area was reserved out for a party. My first seafood restaurant in the city and it did not disappoint. This is a cute little dine in restaurant with chill vibes. The service was excellent despite us being a party of about 10 people. The orders came out correct and the food was exceptional. I ordered crawfish eggrolls & and a medium shrimp boil bag. All additional items are add ons to the boil bag and are all priced individually. I opted for boiled eggs and corn which was sooo good. The drinks were also really good. I ordered the category 5. If you appreciate strong drinks this is definitely for you. TIP: the medium level of spice was definitely doing what it needed to do; there are three levels of spice mild, medium, and hot. Tread lightly if you're sensitive to spicy foods. Overall 10/10. For what it is, Crawfish Cafe is pretty good but I didn't feel that same kind of excitement after leaving this place as I did with some other food joints around Houston. As a little context, my friends came here late and was glad they had some seating and allowed us to order 40 min before closing. The staff was attentive and were helpful with giving us enough time to decide for a group of seven. All in all, I would rate the food to be like a 3.8 with the service and care to be closer to a 4.5+ because we were super late and they didn't kick us out despite staying around 50 min past closing hour The food if I were to rank in best to last were the crawfish fried rice, crab bundle, crawfish and fries. Easily if I were to come back I would come for the crawfish fried rice since it had the right amount of season and creaminess I presume either through some type of butter or the inner juices from the crawfish head but it had a little spice to the rice and the crispy-ness of the rice coupled with the little pieces of succulent crawfish and chinese sausage hit the spot The crab bundle was well made particularly the garlic butter sauce had a nice kick to the mouth in terms of flavors, when it arrived you had to slip the crab out of the bag where you see the oozing of the crab juices and slowly started to seep out from the legs themselves. Crab meat was sweet with no noticeable aspect of being over cooked where it becomes stringy or any bad aftertastes which I appreciated Now onto the meh portion of the meal, my group ordered about 7 lbs of crawfish with varying degrees of sizes. This is not really an issue in part to the staff since it's the very tail end of crawfish season but we had some nice sized crawfish and some crawfish that were barely longer than my pinky and felt like the 7 lbs was not enough but this was also just an aspect of wanting more food but last call already happened. Our waitress was kind enough to continue to check in and make sure our group's table had drinks and the right sauces. I even tried to ask for their spicy reaper sauce but it was quite honestly the most disappointing reaper sauce I've had in my entire life. I live off spicy to the point where I eat spicy noodle challenge 2x normally so when I say I barely felt a tingle, it was so subdued in spice that I felt like I could have gotten the wrong sauce Overall though, I would consider coming back and the food was good. The rest of my group was fairly content, I'm just a bit more critical of the food since I've had better for about the same price in Cali also that's where I compare but overall I would 100% come back for the rice and wish their reaper was a mistake cause that didn't even cause me to break a sweat which I found disappointing. Another thing I cannot stress enough about was how friendly the staff was, we stayed WAY past closing and they did not once say a word or give us a death stare but to give context when we left we were the only table that wasn't cleaned, even the floors and kitchen were cleaned and lights off so huge thanks to everyone there! read more

Crawfish Cafe shattered that belief, and totally changed my views in crawfish! The food here was soooooo delicious! My husband and I order a crawfish and mussels boil with the house special blend sauce. The mussels were very good, but the crawfish were AMAZING!!! They were very juicy and so flavorful, I feel in love!! During my visit to Crawfish Cafe, I also fell in love with oysters! I never really cared for them before, but I gained a new appreciation for them during the trip to Houston! They were so tasty, we had two orders for them. I couldn't get enough! This restaurant was delicious and definitely more than earned this five star rating. Sadly, I do not think I will be able to find a restaurant locally that serves the same quality of crawfish. I came here right when they opened craving for crawfish I was so sad to hear I missed out on crawfish season but the frozen ones were not bad at all. They are located inside the Asian mall. I ordered Cajun fries which came out super crispy, yum. I like that you can choose the spice level. I ordered one pound of crawfish with the grail, the sauce was super tasty but a little on the salty side. I am still thinking about it now. I also ordered one pound of crawfish with the mix sauce and it was very underwhelming the flavors were salty but bland if that makes sense. We were a party of 4 adults and had a baby with us and the hostess refused to offer the empty table next to us that had a bench so we could put the baby carriage on the bench, saying it was reserved for someone else. When it turned out it was just for a couple. It was extremely unprofessional of the hostess to not accommodate us. Finally we asked that couple to swap tables with us before we all sat down.and like decent human beings, the couple happily agreed. We live near by and this place is our favorite crawfish spot. This has to be one of my favorite crawfish restaurants ever! This place is a must go! The wings here are also amazing! I suggest the salt and pepper wings. And the oysters here are great too! The servers I've had so far are very attentive and they are always checking up on us to make sure we have everything we need. Also the location of this restaurants is a little weird to find but you can easily point it out because of how busy it is! The lemon pepper is extremely overpowering. My crawfish wasnt extra spicy. Our server went to get it fixed 3x. I felt bad and asked if she could just bring the spice on the side and she offered to just get it retossed. The wings were not good. It was overpowering with minced garlic and barely any parmesan. I thought it was hella parmesan on it, it was garlic instead. I had to scrape off the garlic. My wings also had feathers as well. The ranch tastes like it came from a Kraft bottle. My brother ordered lemon pepper wings and he did not like it. It was barely any lemon pepper on the wings. They should've packed it on the wings instead of the crawfish. My cousin ordered the fried fish and 6 shrimp w/ garlic fried rice and cajun fries. The fish was good. Nice flavor cornmeal. Fish was a bit fishy but nothing overpowering. The shrimp was okay. I get medium. Bf and parents liked spicy, but it's actually spicy, so beware. The crawfish were still huge! (Went on 5/5/23). We got 2 lbs medium & 2 lbs spicy. It was a good amount for us 2 to share. I might have eaten a bit more than 1 lb. Corn $1.49 ea - kinda pricey but delicious. Soaked up the juices, so it's kinda spicy. Potatoes (3) $1.99 - good. 1 was small tho! $1 for 2 melted butters - didn't know they charged for this. 9 fried shrimp platter $11.99 - comes with 2 sides. We got Cajun fries (medium) and garlic fried rice. Fried rice was decent, but the fries were very good and crispy. Very good, crispy, big shrimp.
