Best crawfish in Houston!! My go-to order that i always get and HEAVILY recommend is their crawfish with "The Grail" seasoning along with potatoes, sausage, corn, and fries to dip in the leftover sauce. This time i wanted to try their other menu items so we got 1lb of snow crab legs which came with a lot more meat than i expected, soft shell crab fried rice, boudin link, and garlic noodles to-go. Everything was very flavorful but the garlic noodles especially stood out. Even with the whole restaurant packed, our food came out quick. Service was also really nice and attentive! Tip: After you're done eating crawfish, rub a lime all over your hands to help get rid of that garlic smell. read more

Manager was not well informed about service dog laws. Had I been alone I would have made a bigger deal out of everything but did not want to make my guests uncomfortable. We asked to be seated inside but when they realized that I had a service dog without knowing they extended our wait time to make sure we sat out side on the corner table. Then when I go to sit down. I'm only allowed to sit in the corner chair so no one is afraid. That is not allowed, also disrespectful and Discrimination. I was not very pleased with my experience at your restaurant. if you are in H-town gotta try some asian cajun seafood and crawfish when its during season. Typically around Jan through July. Middle seaon will be bigger. my trick is i pour the sauce out of the bag and into a small bowl and use that as dip. I like the fish sauce wings, fried rice, fries are good and everything seafood. It's the crawfish season! My wife and I have to order some boiled crawfish from Crawfish Cafe around Late Feb to March because they are so delicious! House Special Blends (garlic butter and kickin cajun) is our go to and we add a side of corn, sausage and potatoes and that is good enough for us for a dinner. We usually pick it up and eat at home because heights location is pretty close to our place. But, the place is always full of people especially during the crawfish peak season and seems like a fun place to eat inside as well. First time trying crawfish they were pretty big, the food coming out was fast but when we sat down it took them about 10 mins to ask us if we wanted any drinks/give the menu. First, you pick your seafood (crawfish, shrimp, lobster, crab, mussels, scallops, clams). Then, you choose from 6 different sauces (or 4 different sauce blends) and finally, you choose your spice levels. Love all that customization. They also have a wide variety of appetizers, wings, fried platters, wok dishes, and add-ons. We had crawfish with Signature sauce (a blend of Garlic Butter and Kickin Cajun sauces). I am not the biggest crawfish fan but the sauce really made it a more enjoyable process. It was fantastic. We also got the shrimp with garlic butter. Holy cow, it was LOADED with garlic. Perfect. I wanted to try some crawfish for my trip to Houston and my friend took me here. For fountain drinks, they are a Pepsi establishment so no Coca Cola. However, they have the Coke in the glass bottle (the sugarcane ones). I would definitely recommend the fried calamari and their sweet potato, and their lemon pepper shrimp. We also got fried okra and the original seasoning Crawfish, and fried catfish. Unfortunately they don't do 1/2 lbs. I think the smallest size would be 1lb. I've been to another Crawfish Cafe location (Bellaire) and it's great but this location... not so much. Our server was not attentive whatsoever, messed up our order not once-- not twice-- but THREE times. We ended up with the wrong amount of crawfish, the wrong drinks, and missing dishes... This is hands down my favorite place to get crawfish in Houston. This place gets packed really fast and unfortunately, has a small parking lot. I highly recommend getting at least a few pounds of crawfish in the signature sauce. I usually just get about 2-3 lbs. I usually get it at a mild spice level because my spice tolerance is low. The cajun fried rice was good too! I also recommend the shrimp (head on) in either the mix or the signature flavor. It's so good and the shrimp sizes are pretty big. Everything from here tastes so fresh and flavorful. The flavors are not too overwhelming and taste perfect. I ordered for takeout and it was about a 20 minute wait for the order to be prepared, which is not bad at all! We came with a giant group of teachers on a Wednesday afternoon around one and was able to get a table for 14-16 of us within ten minutes, despite the restaurant being pretty crowded already. We opted to sit outside on their spacious patio since it was a nice day. It was windy with a cooler wind, so some of the space heaters were on per request of some of the other customers. They set up a table super quickly for us and added extra tables as more of us showed up. Except for my sister and I, everyone else were first timers - especially to Vietnamese-Cajun style crawfish boils. They were super excited to try all of the different flavors offered here and all of the different seafood that they could get. We took some time looking at the menu as our waiter took all of our drink orders. Everyone ordered something different - from pounds of crawfish in different sauces, to crab and mussels and shrimp, and tons of side orders to share. The Cajun fried rice and garlic noodles were delish! The fried okra and hush puppies and fries were super crispy and complemented the rest of our spread quite nicely. We explained how all of the different dipping sauces worked and the staff were so nice as we kept asking for more ~things~ (small plates and forks to share food, sauce cups, gloves, lemon, etc.). Our coworkers never had so many fun choices to dip their boiled seafood into! They especially loved the melted butter+Cajun spices (I mean, who doesn't?!) and the lemon+pepper+salt, which is my favorite. Some liked the mayo dip the best. We wanted to give a huge shout-out to all of the staff that stepped in to help everyone out that day. Our waiter was super helpful in explaining the menu, taking everyone's separate check orders and ringing us up, and bringing things out as we requested them throughout our meal. It made for a very epic experience for all of our coworkers who expressed how much they loved the food and atmosphere of the restaurant! They are excited to try new flavors or reorder the same things again. Many were already planning on visiting again during their next teacher-holiday to go together or even try to come back even before then! Definitely recommend and we will all be back! Thank you for making this first visit for so many of us so memorable! The only drawback of this place was the parking, but all 14ish of us were able to find either lot parking or street parking nearby, so it's there, it just might not be as easy, but parking is like this everywhere in the heights really, so most from the area will be used to it. The street that Crawfish Cafe is on is also a one way street, so keep that in mind when leaving. We did see lots of cars going down the street in the wrong direction when exiting venues around the area - so just be careful! I looove crawfish season and tried a few places this season, but this place is always consistent with their flavors and never disappoints! They serve Vietnamese style crawfish, but don't let that intimidate you from trying it if you never tried that type of style before. Don't knock it till you try it because I can guarantee you will not regret it! I usually order 2 pounds of their garlic butter and lemon pepper mix and it is sooooo good!! It's not your typical seasoning they just throw on top after they boil the crawfish...it's mixed in there good and their ingredients are wet and not dry seasoning, which I like. And you get those flavorful garlic pieces in there with that butter. So make sure you order some side pieces of corn, potato and mushroom to soak up all those goodness. You're stomach probably won't thank you afterwards, but worth it! This last time I went there, my sister and I saw they had salted egg crab. Okay, I know what you're thinking...it sounds weird but once again, don't knock it till you've tried it. It's an appetizer dish but it's only $15! What a steal and you get two whole crabs! I had to ask my sister to double check on that price because you can't get that price anywhere. The seasoning on the crab was just so decadent and delicious and came with a lot of crab meat inside. Right now crawfish season can be pricey because of inflation, but if you want to make sure your money is money well spent and you want to make sure it was worth it, this is the spot! This place gets really packed and can sometime sell out towards the evening time...many people usually order to go. Been here twice in the last couple of weeks, and planning to go back this weekend. The crawfish here are BOMB. Most are still small but that's to be expected this time of season. Their sauces are amazing, I really love the garlic butter/lemon pepper mix. On our last visit we also tried their oysters which were fresh and delicious, as well as their oyster nachos which were to die for! Decent micheladas, casual ambience. Came in here with a large group of, I want to say 10, and it was an overall great experience. We ordered different foods for the table from fried rice, crawfish, chicken wings, shrimp, and many more and everybody, including myself, was super happy with the food quality. Prices are very competitive for the area and the service we received was great. Parking could be an issue since this restaurant is located in a shopping center shared with many other businesses and there were a lot of 'reserved' spaces. But the restaurant does have a small private lot on the back (entrance from Dorothy St), or you can also park on the streets on Dorothy. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back here!! read more

Second time here and i love it! Im from louisiana so i love the louisiana style & the texas cajun flavors. Its still a little different from home but it definitely does the job!! My first experience was amazing, from the juicy hot steamy crawfish to the frozen margarita but this time it was good, just wanted the crawfish to be steaming hot & more juice in my bag instead of luke warm but it was still good!!! Definitely a place to try in Houston. Was recommended this place and it definitely hit the mark! The inside is spacious and quickly filled up after we arrived. There's also plenty of patio seating. The parking lot is limited but isn't unreasonably small. The food was great. We tried the oyster nachos which were surprisingly delicious! The crawfish menu is extensive with numerous mixes available ranging from spicy to sweet. We tried to hush puppies (yum) as well.
