Enjoyable place with reasonably priced all you can eat seafood. I appreciate that the sauces aren't overly salty like some sea boil places can be. If you do all you can eat don't fill up on all the fried other options, stick to the seafood so that it's worth it. Service is friendly and prompt but not overbearing.
We had a large group celebrating my cousin's birthday and it was everyone's first time. This restaurant is located in a strip mall with other businesses such as Sushi Cho, Marco's Pizza, Boba Knight. Parking is limited but manageable. As you walk in, some area are lit and some areas are very dim. The menu has a la carte, combo meals, AYCE and ice cream for dessert. So our group was split because there were six of us who didn't want the AYCE meal. Our server Eli was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Some items were delicious, a few were dry and bland. All the trays that were presented have options of variety of sauces: garlic butter, lemon pepper, cajun, and crazy special. The hush puppies were dry. The clam strips were over cooked. You will need to use a flashlight to make a selection on the menu.
So all the staff were nice, friendly, attentive, and checking in. The ambiance was definitely ocean themed. You can solo eat, family, group and maybe not recommend for dates. We can get the AYCE for $59.99 which i would say is not worth the price point. Don't get any of the fried food. It just slows you down and fills you up. I've had raw oysters elsewhere in DMV and these were not fresh to me. They need to do variety sauce like just butter or garlic or tartare or vinegar because combined it was just too much garlic and butter making me sick. Let the customer choose. Plus there's need to be old bay. They should also give out plastic knives, mallet or scissors. They did plastic gloves, crab cracker, and forks. The scallops, clam, and mussels were overcooked. The crab and snow leg didn't seem fresh to me. They give you free ice cream. I wouldn't come here again. I just felt sick afterwards.
This is one of the best ayce seafood places I have been to in the DMV area. To serve unlimited raw oysters was already a good sign. It didn't taste dirty or sandy. The crab legs were decent, a little old or overcooked since it was hard to get the meat out. Everything else was nice and fresh. I will say that the medium spice sauce tasted like it was mild, and the hot spice was real spicy. I appreciate how the ayce includes soft drinks. The server was nice and attentive, being able to offer extra sauces and refilling our drinks quickly. It's worth the $60 price with the food you get and the customer service.
The only positive thing about our experience at Crazy Crab was our server, who was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, everything else was extremely disappointing. We ordered the Crazy Crab Special, which is supposed to include 1 lb crawfish, 1 lb mussels, 1 lb clams, 1 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb snow crab legs, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 1/2 lb sausage. When the tray came out, the portions looked noticeably small and did not seem to match what was promised in the special. Worse, the seafood was cold and did not taste fresh at all. While eating, it was obvious the seafood was old. We ordered garlic butter mild, but the sauce was incredibly bland, it honestly tasted like watered-down butter with no flavor. To make matters even worse, both my husband and I got sick the next day after eating here. That alone is enough for us to say we will never return. This experience was a huge disappointment, and we expected much better.
TIP: Ask for the crazy crab mixin special sauce on the side. You can dip your seafood into this sauce! Without the tip above, the food is only a 3.5/5 for me, but the sauce on the side to dip it in really elevates the seafood. All the seafood here is pretty decent, but I recommend the shrimp, snow crabs, and green mussels. Also get the oysters if you're into oysters! The raw oysters are pretty good here for AYCE The total was a bit pricy for AYCE for two people so come ready to eat a lot if you're doing AYCE. Our total was around $130 for two people (before tip).
Since my sister is a crawfish lover, my family decided to bring her here for one last fix before she headed off to college. We opted for the à la carte menu, although their all-you-can-eat option looked tempting, it was more than we needed. We ordered the Crazy Crab Deluxe along with an extra 3 pounds of crawfish, which came with corn, potatoes, and sausage. We chose the Crazy Special sauce for both. The sauce was decent, and I appreciated the generous amount of garlic, though it wasn't my favorite. The snow crab legs were the highlight for me. I do wish they served butter with the platters--it would have made the meal even better. Our server was friendly, but it seemed like they were short-staffed, with only 2-3 servers managing the entire restaurant. The space is large with plenty of seating, making it great for large groups. They also have handwashing stations outside the restrooms, which is a nice touch.
Crazy Crab may appear to be expensive when you look at the price of the all you can eat seafood. But, if you look at what you get with the fried food baskets, it really isn't bad. Though fried food is pretty heavy and not necessarily that healthy, you sometimes just get a craving. That's why we happily tucked into an appetizer of hush puppies and then a basket of fried shrimp, one of calamari and one more of fried oysters (there were three of us.) Each basket comes with a choice of fries and both the regular and the sweet potato ones were tasty. The fried dishes were crispy and not at all greasy and came with ketchup and a spicy sauce to dip. The extra side of coleslaw was a token to trying to add in a little bit of veggies... The restaurant is a little dark but we were able to sit right by the window. The décor is campy but fits the theme. The service was very friendly and we enjoyed our lunch. Parking is really easy with a big lot out front.
All you can eat crab legs?! Amazing! I ordered: - crab legs - scallops - blue crab - oysters They do have raw oysters in the appetizer that you could definitely order! Its very plump. No sand in the oysters. They also have vinegar you can request. The downside is that it was probably one of the worst oysters I've tasted. The batch I had was very fishy and I ended up having food poisoning (abdominal cramps and diarrhea) two hours later. My friend said she had oysters here last time and it was perfectly fine! So, it may have just been the batch I had! The crab legs. Utter heaven. I was actually surprised that I could order the crab legs to my taste. After the first batch of trying their sauces, I didn't need anymore corn, potatoes, or sausages. I just requested for steamed crab legs, and they were able to bring out that! The crab legs taste amazing with a salt pepper lemon sauce. You can ask for lemon wedges on the side and make your own sauce!
Crazy Crab is crazy as what you'd expect for Seafood. If you are a big fan of crustaceans and the idea of breaking open to eat your food, then this is a place for you. I went here with my family to celebrate Mother's day. It was a bit busy for the wait but of course it's also a holiday that everyone celebrates. Once we did seat after what seem like an eternity ( about 45-50 minutes ) we were able to sit down. The waiter greeted us and handed my mom a glass of champagne ( since it's mother's day ) and we wasted no time in looking into the menu. They had an AYCE option for 59.99 but we went with the combo instead. Since my family loves eating crab/shrimp/lobster, we got the Crazy Crab Extreme Combo. That's a lot of food for four people. It had 4 lobster tails, 1 Lb King Crab Legs, 2 Lb Snow Crab Legs, 2 lb Shrimp (headless ), 8 corn, 8 potatoes, 1/2 sausage and a choice of your starter. We got Medium spice but we honestly did not taste any kick to it to be honest. We got Hush Puppies as our starter too and it came in 10 pieces with a side of butter. When the food came out my parents were thrilled and shocked to see how much food was there. We went in and definitely enjoyed cracking open the crab legs and getting the meat to dip in butter, because why not. Personally I am not too keen on opening for my seafood but I also did get fried catfish and fries to eat too just in case if I wasn't feeling interested in eating crab/lobster/shrimp but I ended up eating a lot more than what I expected. If there's one thing that I like about Crazy Crab, there are sinks that you can just wash your hands if you don't need to use the bathroom. The small trash cans to put all of the pulled shells also go in here which makes it convenient for table space and just for easy clean up. If there's one thing to note about Crazy Crab, it's not really the restaurant itself but the parking lot. It sucks. Parking is small unfortunately since it's a small strip but luckily it's a short walk if you end up parking far. I'd come back here for more seafood to eat!
I was recently introduced to seafood boils this year and the first time I tried it out in Northern VA, I kept thinking of how awesome it would be if there was an All You Can Eat option in the area; well, there is and it's called Crazy Crab located in the heart of Fairfax,VA! The location of this restaurant is very convenient with ample parking nearby. The staff are very welcoming from the time you walk in to the time you depart. They have a team of servers whom take orders and a team of server whom make runs to the table. The managers on duty are also keeping an eye on what's happening and ensuring guests are properly being taken care of. The seating is comfortable for guests of smaller and larger groups. If you have a very large group with more than 6 people in your party, I'd call ahead to see if they could accommodate your group. The place is large enough for them to do so but they'd have to prep the area first. The menu has all you can eat options and a la cart. The food is fresh and my favorite flavor is the garlic butter. Don't forget to ask for extra butter on the side! You get a choice of appetizers in addition to your main. You can all take your left overs home for a price but their main goal is to avoid wasting food. I've already been here 2 times in the last couple months that I've found it and will be back for many more visits and highly recommend that you stop in for your next seafood outing with family and friends or just by yourself! read more
I love visiting Crazy Crab when I'm in the mood for a seafood boil. This place is all you can eat for about $60 a person. They have a variety of items such as crab legs, clams, shrimp (both head-on and headless) , mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn, and more. The seafood is fresh and plentiful. My favorite options are the snow crab legs and the clams. I also like the mussels. If you're not a seafood lover, they have additional items such as wings, fries, hush puppies, etc. You are able to order a few items at a time (3 for the non seafood items) and customize spice levels. We always get the sauces on the side as to not eat too much oil/others in our party don't like the items drenched. They are flexible with this and this allows those who have various spice preferences to be accommodated. Overall, delicious seafood and they provide bibs and gloves so your hands and clothes don't get messy. For dessert, they have ice cream. Parking is easy and this is located off route 50 a little bit down from 495. Overall, highly recommend as it's a good bang for your buck because it's all you can eat. read more

Do you have a craving for crabs? I just started a new craving :) That's how it makes you feel. We had the 'all you can eat', and thought such a thing exists in Indian food, Brazil beef and some well known eateries with such a menu. Now, I have crabs under my belt. The choice is plenty. (I loved the snow crab and scallop). Why the 4 stars, the butter that the crabs come with is a bit on the extra side.. and makes you full faster than necessary. When your kids ask to try seafood? Specifically crawfish and crablegs? I decided to bring them here. We got the all you cab eat option. That way if they decided they didn't want seafood they would have other options and I could continue eating seafood. I figured that would be mych cheaper then playing food roulette with them and end up ordering everything Ala carte. Thank god they did like everything but they still went ham trying nevertheless possibly could. I don't mind. As long as they eat. Crawfish was fresh and not frozen always a good sign for me. I couldn't get my normal spice level since I was eating with the kids. But that's OK. They brought it out on the side for me. read more
If you're in the DMV and a seafood lover I definitely recommend Crazy Crab. I suggest the all you can eat, you'll definitely get your money's worth. Everyone at your table has to do all you can eat. It's served family style. The crazy special sauce was so good, made you want to slap somebodyyy. For your second round, I was suggest two choices. Whatever is left will be weighed and you are charged $15/lb. If it's less than a lb it's still $15. For my military folks they do a 10 % discount. They don't do reservations so expect to wait. Our wait time was 1 hour and 45 minutes but we were were called 1 hour and 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. We figured it had to be good since no one left after being told the wait time. Got food poisoning for the first time in my almost 30 years of life. Steer cautious of this place if you're in the mood for seafood. I noticed it tasted a bit weird but thought it was just my taste buds being weird. I wish I would've listened. I was hugging the toilet right after having a meal at this place. read more
Finally made it to Crazy Crab after reading about it in a Facebook foodies group. I was all set for the all you can eat option, but when my brother and I arrived we thought one of the specials (pictured) would be more than enough food for the two of us, so we did that and got an order of hush puppies (which were great). We tried the Crazy sauce, hot on the seafood, and it was fine but I wouldn't do it again, as I feel like the garlic butter sauce (which isn't really butter) doesn't really add anything. If I were to go back I'd just get the Cajun sauce (which we got on the side for dipping this time). Of the seafood, the crab legs were my favorite, followed by the shrimp, crawfish, and mussels. I would skip the blue crab next time, as I don't find it worth the effort. read more

We did the all you can eat, with 3 appetizers hush puppies, crab balls and calamari. We ordered the "all you can eat" entree with crab legs, headless shrimp, mussels, sausage corn and potatoes. First time at crazy crab and our first impression was that it was kind of dark and loud inside. The surrounding tables and music were loud. The service was good and the food came out quickly. We like how this one had raw oysters and scallops. However for three people they have us an insane amount of oysters. Almost too much for just three people. In an all you can eat environment speed definitely helps and this place was continuously bringing out the food in a very fast manner which I loved! They have such a great selection and it's nice to be able to try a little bit of everything from the appetizers to the seafood boil. I really did like the flavor of the Cajun sauce however when you get all three blended together I couldn't really taste the difference. The seafood was hot when it came out, but I had a problem with the crab legs and blue crabs being cooked very inconsistently as some were completely mushy on the inside. Sad to say but the sweet potato fries were my favorite as they were extremely crispy and had a delicious flavor. Oysters were super great deal with how meaty they were. Price versus food quality I really think it should be priced closer to $48. Although not a huge price jump I still think it should be lowered just a little bit. read more
This spot is perfect for seafood lovers. They serve seafood boils with a few flavors and they come with appetizers as well. The all you can eat price is not bad at all however don't think you can just eat all day, there's a 2 hr limit per table. There is also a charge per pound for any uneaten food. We choose to try the boils which were great, I would order them again. I wasn't impressed by the scallops but everything else was pretty good. Location This spot is located in a small shopping center so parking is limited however you can find a spot while you wait. I don't believe it is accessible by public transportation so prepare to drive or catch a ride. read more

The food here is amazing and, if you go with the all you can eat option, it's basically endless. Sure, it can be considered on the pricey side, as it's currently at about $60 for the all you can eat option, but that also includes a soft drink and dessert. I've eaten here multiple time and have never left room for desert though! The seafood is just too much and tastes too good to leave room for desert. The oysters are great. They are part of the appetizer selection. The calamari is also a good option to go with for an app. You get to pick three seafood items and the level of seasoning you want to have on them. Once you are about finished with your first serving, you can order a second serving with the same or different items. The service has always been good. You are greeted as soon as you walk in and will be seated quickly. The wait staff will periodically check up on you while you're eating and get you whatever you need. The place is really casual. You will be eating with your hands and you will have the option of using plastic gloves and I plastic bib. Probably more like extremely casual. If you love great seafood and can handle a lot in one sitting, then this is a place you need to try. If you're not into the all you can eat option, they also have a regular menu you can order items from. The regular menu is available for both dine in and take away. read more

Got the all you can eat option here, and omg there was so much food. the crawfish and snow crab really stood out. i was so deathly full when i left this place, but in a good way of course. the service was great and the restaurant itself is a cool vibe. the parking is a little tough sometimes, we had to park kind of far in a different area. read more

I definitely love this place because the manager Rez, he is very nice and makes a big difference when it comes to customer service, he definitely knows how to accommodate things and definitely when it comes to the days they are busy. As for the food I would say it's good and sometimes great with the seasonings. It's a hit or miss but never have it been bad. The atmosphere. is nice. If you are with a group more then five I would definitely call in to make reservations. All the staffs are amazing and friendly. Will definitely be back! read more

A relatively laid-back Cajun buffet located in the same plaza as fan-favorite Korean barbecue and sushi restaurants. (Both the Qui and Sushi Cho are both highly-rated neighboring contenders.) It wasn't packed when all three of us arrived, which made for good service. We were seated immediately on a Tuesday at 4pm and thus kicked off the $60 AYCE with (3) Ginger Ales. Everything is great to try once -- I noticed that ordering everything in *half* portions kept the food hot, and smaller platters definitely felt easier to eat because we weren't slugging through a mountain of protein. We opted for the "Crazy Special" sauce at medium spice level -- a mix of Cajun, Garlic Butter, and Lemon Pepper. It was great to try, and brought an addictive salty-butteriness to the meal, but after four platters... And seven platters.... Should've changed it up. - The Snow Crab is fun to demolish but takes time. Quality was kind of bad but consistent; the meat sticks to the shell and there isn't much, but it's easy to break á la Strong Hands and Teeth. - Mussels (points for being SO easy to eat) were lovely: Black mussels tend to be more on the smaller and tender side, while Green mussels (a buffet favorite) are chewier and hearty. - Manilla and Surf Clams follow a similar route. I found that the best use of my time was just shoveling mussels and clams in my mouth. They are quick to de-shell, thus I can eat them without worrying about my untouched platter getting too cold. - Oysters looked good but did not taste ok. read more
This place seasoning is on the saltier side. If you like salty and a lot of garlic. This is it! Seasoning was drenched in every piece of seafood. The shrimps were not as firm, but they are still good to my standard. Lobster tails were good. It was not too soft. Meat was firm. Overall, I love the seasoning here. Their service was awesome. This place is poppin! My husband and I came here as a recommendation from a friend. My husband loves seafood. I like it if I I'm in the mood. We ordered all you eat. The food is served family style. We ordered snow crab legs, mussels, and shrimp as our choices for the first round (there are three rounds)! The crab legs were full of meat and cooked to perfection. We also had a long list of choices from the appetizer list. We chose mozzarella sticks, crab balls, and fried calamari all were hot, fresh, and delicious! Also, the we were able to choose from three different sauces to coat our seafood. They didn't get 5 stars because I chose the garlic sauce. I like garlic but geesh, that was just too much garlic! I could not wash that smell off my hands no matter what I tried. I wore the gloves they gave me too. I will definitely return but I will not choose the garlic sauce. My husband however had no complaints. Oh our waiter was extra nice and very helpful when it came to making our choices from the list of food. read more

I love garlic but it IS possible to use too much and this place proves it. I've never had a worse seafood experience than this place. I will say our server did a good job but the food was horrible. Every item on each tray of 3 selections tasted exactly the same. Furthermore I'm not a fan of their policy of everyone at the table is required to order the all-you-can-eat if any one person wants it. We had 5 people at our table, everyone ordered the ayce, but only 3 selections at a time are allowed. So the table has to agree on what to order. Upon walking in. It's a two door glass environment. One glass door kept locked at all times down to a one door environment. There is a small waiting area inside of the two to one door setup. This however is a MAJOR FIRE HAZARD since it's the only exit and the back door is blocked. **SEE PICS** Upon entering you're greeted and asked for your phone number to be placed on a waiting list. Which was weird since there was CLEARLY some empty tables in the corner. So I suspect they're using the tactic of "If you have to wait for the food. It must be good". They said it would be a 50min wait. We got a text like 10min later. Lol. Upon entering back inside. We had to squeeze thru people just to get back in the door. **SEE PICS** MAJOR FIRE HAZARD. After being seated. We got menus and ordered. Everything is unlimited but Alcohol and desserts both of which were overpriced. After waiting nearly 40min we finally got the crabs to which everyone agreed were loaded with WAY TOO MUCH OIL. When biting into the meat part of the snow crab a mountain of oil came out of the crabs which was very disgusting. **SEE PICS** Upon asking for less oil and NO liquid butter. They brought more crabs to the table after about 20min. Still DROWNED in oil. My friends ate SOME. I didn't eat anymore of the drowned crabs. I called the server back over and then asked for NO OIL, NO BUTTER OR ANY OIL OF ANY KIND. 15min later they returned with more oiled down crabs despite being clearly asked NO OIL OF ANY KIND. It was so much oil. One of my friends hands were soaked in oil. **SEE PICS** We then ordered Buffalo Wings which weren't bad. The fried shrimp was loaded with grease and Crab balls were burned to hell. They were so burned they were very black. **SEE PICS** We then asked for drink refills to which we had to ask numerous times until they finally refilled us. Upon ordering more crabs I had to explain in very precise words. NO OIL. NO GREASE. NO SAUCE OR OIL OF ANY KIND. To which they finally complied when they brought the new order of crabs out after 15min. The UNMODIFIED crabs weren't bad and were actually bigger then the oiled down ones since they're weren't SOGGY. At this point the manager we could see started eyeballing our table since we ordered UNMODIFIED snow crabs to which since they're not oiled down. People can eat a lot of them very fast since it's PURE CRAB MEAT. Overall. Not a very good experience. Their tactics here to prevent people from eating a lot of crabs is CLEARLY TRYING TO LOAD EVERYONE UP ON OIL. Which when eaten. Expands inside of the body thus resulting in people filling full even after eating only one tray of food. This was confirmed when I seen other tables paying for unlimited and eating not even one tray of crabs and some even complaining about the oil too. The overall general crowd was mainly adults. Not really that many kids really. Some teenagers. Normal Class. The overall noise level was normal for a seafood environment. They could've use more lighting though. They do have TV's too. The ventilation was good due to the AC being on and working good. Lastly. The bathrooms DO NOT have a automatic soap dispenser but rather a pump system from a "dollar store" brand soap dispenser. Not even commercial which has stronger antibacterial compounds inside. This is weird for a food environment since a hand pump can spread germs VERY FAST since everyone is touching the pump. Overall. Did the all you can eat option of course. Love crab legs. The crab legs are the small ones but as long as you keep getting them it adds up. Only got the sauce once and then stuck with just steamed. The oysters are huge. The fried stuff is kinda overcooked. The crawfish was a no for me. Basically had everything with and without sauce. Ended up going round for round with the crab legs til it hurt to walk and breathe. The price is moderately high but you make up for it by overeating. read more
I love and crush crabs for a living... it is rumored that I sat and crushed 25 blue crabs in one sitting... 4 hours... stab wounds all over my finger... so I am a glutton for seafood... The price tag of $46.95 was pretty high for all you can eat... not because of the lack of volume being offered, but because of the quality of the seafood being offered. The fresh oyster, snow crab legs and shrimp with the head attached is pretty good. The appetizers and sides are generally fried and great for kids but you don't come here to eat that... so limit your consumption! But because all kids under 3 feet tall are free... the appetizers are great for their meal! The stone crab was horrible on my visit... the freezing and thawing destroyed its flesh and so the texture was like it was blended in sea water... so watery and powdery.... it was nasty! I hope they address this for the future. For the price, I wanted to be blown away... but I'll try to come back to see if there are any improvements in the near future. read more

The waitress came in and explained the menu, gave us water and then came back to take the order. The business itself is rather small on the inside. There are tables and booths all around. As soon as you walk in, you'll see the hostess stand in the middle with the restaurant to the right. The food was really good. The shrimps were a little backed up but the flavor was still amazing. I would definitely come back and try them again. The crawfish were over cooked but really flavorful. It comes with unlimited sodas and unlimited seafood for the whole table. With a group of three, we were only able to complete two trays of food. Definitely worth the price. read more

Updated Review: Second visit was not as great as the second visit. Arrived at 9p after driving almost an hour to get there. I had hyped up the place so much and tried my best get back as quickly as I could. This time I had three friends come to witness what I had, unfortunately they did not get the 5 star experience I did. We arrived to learn that all you can eat ends at 8p and the kitchen closes at 9:30 so everything would be a la carte. This was very disappointing, because this is not listed on their website and after driving for an hour expecting all you can eat this was disappointing. So we sat for 15 minutes with no service, no one came to say hi or get drinks. We approached someone and then they sent the waiter that walked passed us 3 times. Now having only 15 minutes left before the kitchen closed we were rushed to place an order. Our food did not come out at the same time and we waited for everyone to be served. We were eating and suddenly the TVs went off, then the music, and the subtle get out was felt. We were disappointed overall and suddenly the drive didn't seem worth it. Later found out that one of my friends got sick from just eating shrimp. Hook and Reel offers a la carte with faster service and is much closer. All the thumbs up!!! This place was GREAT! I made a reservation and they were able to accommodate my party of 6. The selection was great and offered something for everyone. There were 3 types of crab, chicken, and sides. You select your food, flavor and spice level and they serve the food family style. It is all you can eat and the food just kept coming and coming. Only one complaint about the corn on the cob. It was not warmed thoroughly and was cold to the bite. The goodness of the crab and the all you eat factor over shadowed the cold corn. I will definitely return and bring a friend or two! No, but the drinks are pretty cheap compared to other places and sometimes they have specials for holidays tho
Did they change their menu and made it smaller? So disappointed to see that and the price raise!

Is the AYCE BACK?
Not yet. Last time I picked up their food there was a poster that stated that they don't have "All that you can Eat" until later

Snow crab legs? For dinner, yes. Lunch, no.
What's the price for all you can eat?
$46.95, but for lunch $26.95. (Based on their website)
Does everyone at the table have to choose AYCE if only one person wants it?

Definitely a step up from Chinese buffet seafood. But not on par with a top level sushi restaurant.

It's still a crap shoot - I'm a long time Crab eater.... But I'm satisfied with what I've gotten at the crazy crab

Hi, we are now offering AYCE every single day! We offer a lunch AYCE (Mon-Fri) from 12pm-3pm for $21.95 and dinner AYCE for $39.95.
