Went here a few months ago for my daughter's birthday lunch. Went in and it was crowded, but we were able to get seated right away. We all had combo meals. I had the chicken and steak with a warm Kirin. The food was really good. We all enjoyed our meals. Service was very good and attentive. No complaints except for the warm beer. Two stars as I can't completely write this establishment off as the service here is good if nothing else. As far as the food goes... it is subpar. I am vegan and they only have things listed as "vegetarian" options with a high likelihood of cross contamination. I ordered the cucumber roll. As a vegan, I always examine my food before eating to be sure. There were a few fish eggs in and around my roll! I sent it back and did not ask for anything else as it is clear that they do not accommodate vegans there. This was a HUGE disappointment considering a vegetable sushi roll should be vegan by definition! My non vegan family members reported that their food ranged from "OK" to "Good" with a few saying it was not good. No one described it as anything spectacular. Very average was the general consensus. The restaurant itself is also not very spectacular in appearance. It's very average with low lighting. Again - nothing spectacular. As far as service we had a singular server for about 30 people (we called weeks ahead as a warning) and he worked his @$$ off the entire night. I have been a fan of crazy sushi for the past 4+ years. The sushi the serve is SO fresh and the staff there is very friendly. One of my favorite rolls is the Dynamite Roll and I make sure to order every time I go. Very fresh sushi and food. I have been here once during the "quarantine season" and I felt very safe and clean when I went in to go order. When you walk into the building there is a glass panel set up between you and the restaurant. Everyone is wearing a mask and they are sure to give you a clean pen to sign with. Great service, inexpensive lunch deals, and tasty food! My parents live close to Crazy Sushi and I always pass by it. I finally peeped at its Yelp review the other day at a nearby red light and saw the 4 stars which I admit sealed the deal in my decision to dine there. As soon as we entered Thomas (who also was our server) greeted and welcomed us in and told us we could chose our seat. I was surprised at how big the inside is compared to how small it looks from the outside. We sat in a comfy booth and enjoyed splitting a shrimp tempura roll and the hibachi combo of shrimp, chicken, fried rice, noodles, miso soup and ginger salad. Since my mom and I were splitting it, we only expected one soup and salad to share but Thomas went above and beyond and brought us out one for each of us. I was impressed by that. Our food was fantastic. So good that when it was served to us, we thought we'd have some tasty leftovers for later but devoured it. On top of that, our meal was only $15 dollars! Can't beat that. After many friends recommended crazy sushi, I decided to order takeout during Covid-19. So I didnt get the in house dining experience, but here's my takeout review: Ordering thru Beyond Menu was easy- ordered an array of sushi and hibachi vegetable to split with my hubby. Despite ordering way ahead of time (like 2 hours), I still had to wait 15-20 more minutes when I arrived. Not complaining, they were slammed & had warned me when I placed the order that they had only 5 current employees. Just a heads up you may chill in your car for a while when you pick up. Only one patron could enter & pay at a time, and that process ran smoothly. Was happy to see a large jug of hand sanitizer for when I paid and signed my receipt (currently cannot pay on the app). Rushed home, cuz everything smelled delicious. My order was exactly what I ordered, and they were very generous with sauces & utensils. However I wish I had taken home more sauces because all the food was incredibly bland! I've never had such large pieces of raw salmon & raw tuna that had absolutely no flavor. Even the spicy tuna roll was blah. The hibachi just tasted like steamed noodles & veggies. The best things I ordered was the miso soup, fish roe sushi, and fried rice. this is my go-to sushi place in Jacksonville that maybe doesn't receive enough recognition! the sushi is VERY delicious & the price is the best you'd get anywhere. My go-to all down hands-favorite sushi roll is their Kyoki Roll which has a variety of ingredients incorporated -- salmon, eel, shrimp tempura& more toppings. Red Dragon (raw) and Snow White (cooked) are notable honorable mentions! Lots of rolls that I've never seen anywhere else. There's a variety of food options here-- vegetarian options, raw rolls, cooked rolls, nigiri, and hibachi so everyone can find something that suits them. There is also complimentary soup AND salad with your meal -- you get your choice between clear/ miso and ginger/ranch dressing respectively. My only complaint is that the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi was very salty so I had to use shrimp sauce to balance the flavors. Incredible price for good sushi! I got the pick 2 combo and their seaweed salad. The salad itself is actually the typical lettuce at the Bottom topped with a good amount of seaweed on top. Beware! We decided last minute for a movie and dinner on Christmas and fell into this place last minute kind of late and we were so very pleased. The white staff was very friendly and helpful the food was very fresh and the menu was extensive. We had a large variety of things, soup salad, tempera veggies, sushi and a variety of tempanyaki chicken and beef and everything was excellent and we were all so pleased. Party of 7 . If you love Japanese food this is the real deal. They're sushi is so freakin delicious I swear it sets it apart from all other Japanese restaurants I've been too. I recommend their grilled salmon teriyaki with either steak, chicken, scallops, or shrimp. Get the combo so you can try a little of everything. It's grilled to perfection and the teriyaki sauce omg it's perfect. Not runny or too thick. You can really savor with each bite. I have been to this restaurant for a decade now and I have seen many other restaurants come up but none are as good as this. Plus pricing is decent. I can't go on about the food because I have tried basically everything and the whole menu is just that good. I wanted to update my review after having a great take out experience despite a mistake. Tonight we wanted Crazy Sushi for dinner but had a contractor in our home so I placed our first ever take out order. I ordered a Florida roll, a Volcano roll, and wontons. It was ready in 15 minutes, I got my chopsticks and shrimp sauce and was on my way. When I was a few miles away but not quite halfway home, my cell phone rang. Apparently the waitress who put my order together gave me the wrong roll. I had the bottom part of the Florida roll (a dynamite roll) but was missing the scallop topping. They told me they could credit me the difference in my card or I could come back. I decided to go back since the scallops are my mom's favorite part. The waitress told me to keep the extra Dynamite roll and just come in for the Florida roll. She was very apologetic on the phone, apologized again in person and gave me 10% off my next order. Everyone makes mistakes and I think they handled it really well. I was very happy they called me as soon as they realized the mistake so I could turn around. Had I made it all the way home I doubt I would have gone back and dinner wouldn't have been as expected. Kudos for owning the mistake immediately and making it right! read more

I was not disappointed with their people and it was delicious! Big servings, so 3 orders of Sushi were more than enough for me. The ambiance is good and location was not that hard to find. Staff is ver nice too. I only tried their sushi at that time so I cannot vouch on their soups and salads but I would sure like to try this place again. I go crazy for Crazy Sushi. It's just that good! I can't say one bad thing about it. You get soup and salad when you first order sushi. I tried both their clear and Mizu soups- both are superb. The salad consists of a basic lettuce mix, topped with the dressing of your choice. I'm in love with their ginger dressing, it's the best that I've tried out of all the other sushi restaurants. These starters alone make you somewhat full- but then comes the sushi. Of course, their menu offers a variety of options, including hibachi, but I've never personally ordered anything other than their rolls. My favorite ones are the Miyazaki (excuse my spelling) and Dynamite rolls. One is sweet and the other is spicy. Both taste amazing. It's not all about the taste though, the technique matters as well. I've been told by sushi experts (yes, really) that the less the rice, the better the roll. That way you can taste the ingredients and not be overwhelmed by the thickness and dominating taste of the rice. Their cooks clearly take this into consideration. Overall, they never disappoint. This restaurant is always my first choice. Their prices are reasonable, and they recently created a lunch special where you can order up to three rolls for a low price. 6/5 stars if I could. read more
