Late-night dessert runs in downtown San Jose always hit different at CREAM. The warm cookies with cold ice cream in the middle are the perfect combo, and there are so many flavors and cookie options to mix and match. The ice cream sandwiches are huge, fresh, and definitely worth the mess. Great spot to satisfy a sweet tooth after dinner or a night out downtown.
Was walking around and wanted to get a quick dessert. Always pass by it and never had it. It wasn't too crowded, so we got our food pretty quick. Raspberry Sorbet (4.1/5): I really enjoyed the sorbet as it wasn't too icy and had a nice raspberry flavor to it. I think that if it was strawberry flavor in this consistency, I love it very much. I would get it again. I shall return to try more flavor.
Love the ice cream sandwiches here! The chocolate chip cookie (warmed up) and vanilla ice cream is a classic, go-to pairing.
Ice cream here is amazing! They give out scoops, and the pieces are huge. Chunks and good optimization for flavors. Gluten free cookies and options available. Favorite flavors are Cookies and Crème/ Strawberry Cheesecake It's pretty crowded at night time.
Got an ice cream sandwich after a Sharks game. Birthday cake flavor was my favorite after trying samples and chose that for my sandwich. Was very tasty! Highly recommend and the staff was very friendly felt like visiting a friend. Would recommend heading over there after a Sharks game. There were a few of us and other groups that went there after the game.
While in downtown San Jose, I decided to stop by here with friends. I sampled the chocoholic, cookie dough, and strawberry cheesecake before I ultimately opted to get a single scoop of strawberry cheesecake in a cup. The chocoholic is very chocolatey. The cookie dough was quite sweet, had almost an artificial-tasting tang to it, which I found a bit off-putting. The strawberry cheesecake was very sweet and reminded me of butter. I did like it overall but generally I prefer my cheesecake to taste more sour and not super sweeet. Overall it was decent and the price was not bad ($4.80 for the single scoop at the time when I went) and the location is convenient to reach by walking or public transit.
Apparently, this is a popular dessert branch in NorCal. They specialize in ice cream and cookies. I think my only issue was that Yelp and Google hours indicated that the shop was open, they had the open sign light on, and then there was a paper sign stating that they were closed and out on break but gave no indication on when they'd be back. We were actually so close to just going to Insomnia Cookies but when we were there, their online cashier system was down. This was already after circling the area a couple times and it was during a con so we needed to get back, but in the nick of time, CREAM re-opened with their singular worker to help customers. I got their mini chocolate chip cookies (2) with a small scoop of their salted caramel ice cream. This was a little over $4 and is a small snack size if you don't wanna down a huge dessert. The ice cream, despite being freshly scooped was already melting quickly. The cookies were a bit "harder" than what I would expect from "freshly baked" cookies. Overall a bit mid, but maybe it was just an off weekend (though big L since it was during Fanime). PS. Idk who is running their official website but you freaking embedded a link to a paper writing service. Not sure if that was on purpose lmao.
We visit Cream every so often, usually in the evening after dinner. It's a rather cramped location, and last night, it seemed 9 of us all had the same idea at the same time, so we all crammed in for a treat. Luckily, they have kiosks allowing you to place your order digitally rather than waiting for your order to be taken. I've only ever encountered 1 person working at a time, and it can get a little busy, but we've never waited too terribly long. The ice cream is great, you get quite a bit for the price, and while the staff is usually very quiet and head down, they are still nice and try their best to work quickly. There is no seating, inside or out, and they are often out of waffle cones, but the brownies, cookies, ice cream and gelato are all worth the trip.
After eating dinner at a city nearby, we decided we wanted some late-night dessert too. We went here on a Saturday around 12:20AM and there was a short wait! This icecream shop is VERY small, so it felt very crowded inside even with their lack of seats. I was looking for something easy to eat, so I got a sundae. For their sundaes, you get to build your own and choose the type of toppings to go with it. We ordered the Cookie Sundae w/ Rocky Road Icecream to share. This icecream was good and I thought it was cool how it contained a bunch of Oreo cookie crumbs and also let me choose my choice of cookie to add on top, which I ended up choosing their Snickerdoodle cookie. I'd recommend this place! I love how much variety they have. They sell other desserts ranging from icecream, cookie icecream sandwiches, sundaes, and icecream tacos too!
This Cream location has really come back! They're offering better quality gelato, which is not the same as ice cream. Plus they give you a generous scoop each time. My favorite combo is the pistachio and giandiuja chocolate. I'll definitely be back soon.
First time back here in like 2 years. Some new flavors like the Açaí for example. I went with the 2 scoops (1 scoop green tea and 1 scoop soy mint chocolate chip) plus a warmed double chocolate cookie. And yoooo you wouldn't believe the mint chip is soy! Had the same richness as regular ice cream. The green tea was a bit too light for my liking, i was hoping for a more stronger taste but overall good customer experience from the gentleman and asked if I had any more questions or needed help. read more

Go here. You'll like it. You'll be overwhelmed. You'll overdo it. You'll elicit jealous glances licking and walking down the street. You'll be extremely full. My choice was the double-decker cinnamon and apple. It was enjoyable. I was overserved. I blame others for my poor choices. It's worth it. I'll return when I can to do it again. read more

CRM is a small scale franchise that started in Berkeley, Ca since 2010. ueh! ueh! So I found this place on foot one day; I was waiting for an appointment and wondered what is up with this place. SMALL-ISH. The front person was totally okay with me asking questions about their ice cream and food. N-O-I-C-E. What does that spell??? Nice. I tried a couple of spoon samples and landed on a mocha fudge espresso, p-nut butter almond topped cookie sandwich. The sweet sugar flavor of the p-nut butter cookie mesh with the sweet coffee espresso topped ice cream sandwich insides. I-was-so-happy-with-my-ice-cream! All in all a good place to grab and go as they have no tables at all here. Herup! Variety of options to choose from, ice cream and cookie sandwich, ice cream in two different cones, ice cream shake. The staff was nice enough to put a cherry on top of an ice cream scoop per my child's request. I tried the strawberry ice cream and tbh it was a really good flavor. I got a cookie sandwich and it was pretty good! The cookies were strong enough to stand up to the ice cream but too hard to bite through as a sandwich. It was served in a paper bag and it made it very hard to eat. I used a spoon for most of it. However the cookies themselves were really delicious and the ice cream was pretty good too! My partner got a brownie sundae and it was really really good. They had fun toppings for sundaes and lots of cookies/icecream options. The ice cream here is very creamy and perfectly sweet. We had French vanilla, soy milk mint chocolate chips cookie sandwich, and very berry strawberry on waffle cone. They were all very good. We were lucky to come in before a crowd of people lined up behind us. The shop only allowed in 1 group at a time which was great. It's a small shop and they had a sign at the front requiring patrons to mask up before entering. Definitely would grab some ice cream the next time we are around. Can I say the most epic ice cream sandwich ever! Dying and getting fat from this place ! The best part of going back to the Bay Area is you can get almost everything delivered! It will cost you around 4$ each time but it's so worth it. They have freshly made ice cream sandwiches with freshly baked cookies that are epic. The classic chocolate chip with vanilla ice cream is amazing. The next favorite would be the sugar cookie with the strawberry ice cream, insane...There are 4 different sandwiches you can choose from and they do sell the ice cream by the pint which is nice too. My only recommendation for this place would be to let customers design their own designer sandwich. read more

Had walked by this dessert place many times during our outing in Downtown San Jose, and decided to stop by to finally try it out. I decided on an ice cream sandwich, two chocolate chip cookies with cookies and cream ice cream in between. Pretty delicious and more than satisfies my sweet tooth. There can be a long line during the busy Friday and Saturday night bar crawling. But definitely worth the wait. read more

Great options of flavored ice-cream and cookies! Location is in downtown SJ where it can be hard to find parking. It's a little shop on the corner of the block. They serve cold drinks and other pastries. It did not seem to be something I'd go to get regularly like my fave pearl drinks. I guess if you are looking for an ice cream sandwich you can go here. An ice cream cookie sandwich at CREAM is a downtown treat. In Berkeley, this was affordable and thus a staple of my diet. Though, I think they've gone a bit overboard with the possible options and, as a result, have moved away from the once-important ingredient of quality. Still, I find myself here occasionally sandwiched between whether I should indulge or not. And it's often the latter with which I side--normally cookie dough sandwiches by chocolate chip or white chocolate macadamia cookies, or both. read more

I love ice creams and with cookie its like heaven. They serve cookies little warm, which makes it more softer. The ice creams are also good and we can customize it however we like. They are opened late nights on weekends.They also have pies now, serving ice cream on pies.They have only 2 tables on street side. I'm not a big cheese cake fan but one of my favorite ice cream flavor was from Hag*** they had a limited edition strawberry cheese cake that was heaven. So I wanted a shake and yes I am lactose intolerant. You only live once so I chose as my flavor shake Blueberry cheese cake shake I used soy mike instead of whole milk so it wasn't that bad on my stomach. I really enjoyed this shake. The berry and they bits of cheese cake. Although they kinda of lingered toward the bottom of my cup. I enjoyed every slurp. Very satisfying. read more

I was visiting a friend and she recommended coming here for dessert... so glad she did! It was so delicious! I loved that you get to pick out which cookies to build your ice cream sandwich with--and that you could choose two different cookies :) I did the build your own sandwich with their chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies, mint chocolate ice cream and rainbow sprinkles. Very happy with it all, especially as they made sure the cookies were heated and warmed up. The space here is small, so try and come by during off-peak hours. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There isn't an area to sit inside, but there's some outside seating available. Overall, the ice cream sandwiches here are delicious and made fresh-to-order. Makes me think, why isn't Cream back in upstate NY??? Till then, I'll just keep hoping they'll expand out to the northeast :) read more

We were driving to Monterey and we decided to stop for a quick sweet treat. It was ice cream sandwiched in between two cookies. What could be better? I chose mini sugar cookies with strawberry ice cream and rolled in fruity pebbles. My boyfriend got the Salted Carmel cookies with blueberry cheese cake ice cream and topped with Heath. It was very reasonably priced and I got full just fine off of the mini cookies. I would definitely come back here if ever in the area again. read more

My bad for underestimating CREAM before. When I first saw the photos posted by Yelpers, I thought to myself, "Ok, just ice cream sandwiches. What's the big deal." Was I wrong! Normally, I don't go downtown because of its lousy parking situation but this time, I was here for the SJ Jazz Festival and happened to walk by CREAM. My sweet tooth nudged me to step inside...just to have a look which conveniently led to buying one to taste. It's a 3-step ordering process: choose your cookies, ice cream, and toppings. Simple! There were close to a dozen flavors of cookies to choose from. I picked the classic Chocolate Chip and the White Chocolate Macadamia. The cookies were big and chewy. I would be happy with just these roundies alone. But wait. There was still the middle layer of Very Berry Strawberry ice cream and my beloved Nutella topping in between. The ice cream by itself didn't really stand out but all three components together made the whole ensemble irresistible. It totally hit the spot on this warm day! I know this looks like an easy DIY treat but let's be honest, when you have a sudden craving, do you really want to wait for the whole process of baking and cooling the cookies and get the ice cream ready? I want it now :) There was a line at the store but it was moving. The workers stayed pleasant and patient. I didn't feel rushed. If there's anything I should whine about, it would be the small size of the scoop of ice cream which also started to melt quickly, although they were generous with my topping. I wish the shop were more accessible by car as well as larger in space. There was no seat available for me to relax and enjoy the dessert comfortably. Eating these ice cream sandwiches can get messy. read more

I've observed many raving reviews of Cream for the longest time, but each time I was in the vicinity of the Palo Alto location, the line originating a block away from the entrance was discouraging at best. So after a few lost chances, I gave up until the new location in San Jose opened. The lines here are shorter and at times lacking. Waiting in line, the build up is grand but also very disappointing at the same time. Once inside, you have few seconds to make a choice, as the chaos and sheer quantity of customers gives you the feeling that you are stalling the whole factory like process of ordering, paying and exiting. I don't understand why they chose to occupy such a cluster-phobic place. Once you get your ice cream sandwich, with the first bite the whole chaotic process is a distant memory. I had the macadamia nut cookie with coconut ice cream and shredded coconut; it was a delicious combination. The cookies are perfect, not to hard or soft, so the sandwich is easily consumed without the potential mess if the cookie has the wrong consistency. The ice cream alone was smooth and soft with subtle sweetness. The marriage of the two was meant to be like Janet O. and I, and forever it shall last. I plan on going back to try their tacos as well. read more

I originally wanted a half sandwich (one for Gavin and one for myself) but the girl that helped me was either deaf or wasn't paying attention. I know I spoke loud enough. Cookies were chewy but had no taste to them. It certainly wasn't chocolaty and it felt as though the Nestle cookies baked at Subway would have been a better fit. You might not even realize there is one right behind you, before it's too late! It's an ice cream spot and what makes them unique is that they will make an ice cream sandwich with two freshly baked delicious cookies for $2.99! Yup, you heard me right. The best part? It's actually really good! I'm talking smacking your lips in bliss good. They said it couldn't be done, but they did it, and they did it well. A smaller location compared to other CREAM locations I've been to. This place always seems to be packed because it's such a small storefront. This place stands out because it always has my favorite ice cream, coconut (not coconut-pineapple, just plain coconut). I like to pair it with the red velvet cookies! The cookies are always hot here when I visit, where other locations they tend to be room temp. Sometimes when I don't want my ice cream to melt too quickly from the hot cookies I ask for them on the side. They have five stars here but there's a minimum!
