    Maple butter pecan

The ice cream, I mean gelato, was very yummy! I got the maple butter pecan scoop. I feel like the other flavors are just as good and warrants a return trip. I'll be back!

Gelato shop right next to the entrance to the San Pedro Square, so tiny that you might miss it! (In fact I did for a while) But don't let the size fool you. I had a scoop of their Belgian Dark Chocolate. Often times, the ice scream shop slap on some fancy sounding name like "Authentic French Vanilla" or "Real Tahiti Coconut" or something like, that just to hit you with a bland, mid experience. But here, the chocolate truly was dark, rich flavor. You can taste the complex coco flavor leading you into chocolate decadence. It's a perfect sweet stop for a night out, or just stop by for some good gelato anytime. Great service too!

Glad this place was open late so I was able to try it! Cashier did not seem to enjoy the job but recommended me to try the cookies n cream gelato which was really tasty, not too sweet either. Kinda sad they didn't have my go-to gelato Hazelnut. It's in San Pedro, so nice spot overall!

It's alright. Pretty good I'll even say. And pretty much the only one in the entire area, so that's more points in favor. Decent set of flavors. I literally just got back from Italy and it doesn't taste the same as there but still good. This one is definitely more sugary. Thicker.

Yummm is all I can say! Loved the gelato I got from here for dessert! The coffee chocolate chip was absolutely divine and so full of flavor - I got it in a waffle bowl which was the best choice. Loved every single bite!

Tucked in corner of San Pedro Square market, you might walk past this place without noticing but the gelato here is incredible! They offer samples so don't be shy to ask to try a flavor. They have an ube flavor and that alone gives them 5 stars in my book. You can get your gelato in a cup, cone, with a brownie or even on top of a nice hot chocolate chip cookie. They have pints you can purchase and they even have gelato for dogs! The staff is super friendly and this if definitely a hidden gem!

This gelato was so good!! It's a small shop tucked inside the market in San Pedro. It was so creamy and delicious, we got strawberry cheesecake and coffee and both were so good. There's only one person working but it's very fast and comes out as soon as you order, no wait time!

I love myself a good sweet treat and the day I stopped by, it was sooo hot! So naturally, the best decision I could make was to stop by here and get myself a gelookie. The guy behind the counter was super patient and nice and I ended up ordering coffee chocolate chip gelato on top of a chocolate chip cookie. DELICIOUS. SCRUMPTIOUS. The cookie was a bit hard, but I like my cookies with a chew and the gelato was great. Super sweet, super satisfying. No seating inside the food hall for this particular store so my friends and I sat outside by the window. Overall great experience.

Excited to see this cute little gelato shop open by the front doors of the food hall in San Pedro Square Market. With a decent selection to choose from, they really prioritized the quality and taste of their products. I was able to sample some flavors and ended up picking the hazelnut chocolate crunch and coffee chocolate chip. Both flavors were really rich and delicious- the strong coffee taste paired well with the chocolate and the tiny bits of crunch in the hazelnut gelato was so satisfying. Great pick me up after a meal and I'm excited to go back again when I'm in the area!

Sicilian pistachio and cookies and cream

When you call something "The Gelato Shop", it's got to be the place to get your gelato fix. Well it definitely is in San Pedro Square! It is tucked away in one of the entrances right next to the ParkSJ garage, with the tempting ice cream displayed front and center. I opted for the Sicilian pistachio and cookies and cream to get a taste of the classics in both countries. The pistachio was probably one of the best I have ever had. It wasn't too sweet with a strong pistachio flavor, giving it that perfect balance. The cookies and cream was solid, but took away from the feel of eating a smooth and creamy gelato. However the quality of the gelato itself felt really nice. I will definitely frequent this place as the gelato place whenever I'm in downtown. I'm a huge fan!

    Strawberry Cheesecake single scoop

I had the best strawberry cheesecake flavor of my life. I would say this is more of an ice cream shop than a gelato shop. The flavor was so good and creamy I came back to have it again, but they rotate the flavors, so I did not try any others. I parked in the San Pedro Square parking garage which is free for the first hour or two. The person attending the kiosk was friendly.

I live less than a mile from here and walk to The Gelato Shop more than twice a week...I really wish it were consistent. The bad- Closing hours are not as posted. We've come several times where the shop is cleaned and closed 15 minutes before closing. Most recent example was last night. We made sure to arrive around 8:50p (20 minutes before closing @9:15). San Pedro was very busy for a Tuesday and all the stores were booming and open. Not the Gelato Shop. Lastly, not all scoopers scoop equally, especially if a flavor is running low on a busy night. The good- good gelato and great coffee. Great location. Dog gelato (hella expensive tho)

I made a stop at this inviting spot to cool off after a spicy meal nearby. The Tiramisu gelato was great. The guy working here was super nice. I had a question about a neighborhood spot and he spent a lot of time looking it up on his phone so he could give me guidance.

Nostalgic flavors from my childhood in a gelato format? :)…read more I came to Marco Polo on a Friday evening and ordered two small cups for my partner and I. This is my third time at Marco Polo and it really hit the spot. The location is in Vietnam Town, on the far right side, next to Pho 90. When I went this time around, there was no lines but there were still people sitting in the store eating their desserts. Parking here can get tough because of the plaza itself so just a heads up to folks who do not frequent the area. What makes Marco Polo so special is their Asian gelato flavors that you cannot really get anywhere else (that to say a lot of places are now expanding their selections). This was the first spot where I could finally get my hands on durian gelato and it was absolutely delicious. The store itself has around 3 tables for you to sit in and is pretty bare boned. It is good for a grab and go but with the limited seating inside and outside you could spend some time here. Service is quick and you are able to try out some samples. This time around I ordered black sesame and Pandan, while my partner got mango and lychee. It was near close so they ran out of mangosteen unfortunately when I went. While the flavors were great, stood out, and were bold, I will say texturally it was a bit icey for my liking but that might have been because they started crystallizing from being out for a while. Overall, this is a small business I will continue to support!

I could tell she was doing her best to keep the line moving along but felt kind of bad that she didn't have any support. Thankfully, by the time we finally got to the front, another person came out from the back to help scoop, and a third to handle checkout. I planned on getting a medium with two scoops and knew I wanted passionfruit but was torn between lemon and coconut, so I asked to sample both. The lemon was good, but I preferred the creaminess of the coconut, so I went with that. The coconut was yummy, but the passionfruit was amazing. That alone is worth a 5-star review. My mom got the Bombolato with Croccantino Amarena (sweet milk with sour cherries and chocolate chips) and Capriccio (hazelnut with chocolate spread) topped with chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. She loved it! She pretty much ate the whole thing, except for half the donut. My only gripe is that I wish they had at least one vegan pastry in the cake section. The seating options are also really limited in the gelato area but luckily we walked to the back and found one open table.

You could buy tins of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha if you want to make lattes at home! Came here twice with my boo because their drinks slap! The Hojicha latte is not too sweet and very roasted, nutty, and smooth. The matcha crème brûlée swirl drank seemed to be their popular drink because a lot of those were being whipped up when we were waiting for our order. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but damn she thicck. It's like a milkshake and you need a big boba straw to get the liquid through. It was good but my boo said it was sorta a challenge to drink. A spoon is needed to thoroughly mix things together. The 2nd time around we ordered the matcha latte and the Hojicha cheese mousse. The Hojicha was a little stronger in flavor since there was no milk added to it. The cheese mousse was thick. I started drinking it through the sip top but eventually went in with a straw to mix it up. The hint of saltiness from the foam paired pretty well with the tea. My guy got the matcha latte with oat milk and the oat flavor is pretty overpowering. You'd taste the oat and then the matcha. It was okay but my boo finished it with no complaints. The shop is small but there's a long bench and a few tables to sip and chill. You mainly order from the kiosk, but when a long line forms, a human assists with ordering. The drink competition is strong in the plaza that they're in. There's at least 3 other boba shops in the same strip they're in and 2 more across the way. But Izumi stayed pretty busy the times we were there. Parking is kinda limited though because they're in a busy plaza. The last time we came we parked across at Target nearby and walked over. Overall, great Hojicha and matcha. The prices are decent for the area. They'll charge you if you want a cup of ice btw. Service is quick. I'd definitely come here again or to any of their other locations. When it comes to matcha they know what's up!
