It doesn't get any cooler than ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Really. Other than that, it's just a different way of making ice cream. I was here for the grand opening and boy, was it busy. It's so easy to drop hella money here because of the pricey toppings and you don't want to eat ice cream plain so you'll easily feel obligated to add hella other shit to it. I ended up paying about $8 for a regular scoop with 2 toppings. There's one too many options to choose from, but they have a list of their most popular flavors by the registers. Everything else is on you to decide. The cashier that took my order was really friendly, I told him it was my first time and asked him for his recommendation. He suggested the cookies and cream because they don't blend the cookies into the ice cream until after it's made so that the cookies are "fresh" and give a crunch to the flavor, so I ended up getting that. I did NOT like their system of using names to claim your order. There's hella Peters in this world and there just happened to have been another Peter at the same time I was there. Our orders got mixed up, so the other Peter ended up taking my order and I ended up taking his. They offered to re-make mine, but our orders were similar enough that I just requested them to add on the toppings I ordered that weren't on the other Peter's order. I also didn't want to spend more time standing around, especially since it was way past their closing time and they still had a lot of other orders to fill. I wish I could say more things about the ice cream, but it was just alright... I wasn't too fond of the cookie bits because they weren't broken down enough, so there were awkward large chunks poorly mixed into the ice cream. What I'm trynna say is I would've enjoyed it a lot more if they didn't mix up my order because the other Peter added brownie chunks to his and that just made it overly sweet. This place is pure awesome! I was in town visiting home for the first time in a couple years, and after going to Gen KBBQ, I decided to give this place a try per the recommendation of my friends. It did not disappoint. The concept is one I'd never seen, where they make the ice-cream for you on the spot using the base and ingredients of your choice. There are a wide array of ingredients you can use and combinations you can try, so it can all get a little overwhelming. Fortunately, they show flavor combos that have been popular with their customers. I tried the cookie butter and marshmallow. Oh my lord was it sweet, rich, and creamy. This may have been one of my favorite servings of ice-cream I've had, and certainly my favorite place to be served ice-cream, as the creation process is awesome to watch. The quality and creaminess of the ice cream is up there, but I think most people are turned away because of the $ and wait. We tried the strawberry ice cream with mochi and the mint ice cream with the brownie. I preferred the latter. We also got one with Strauss organic milk. Finally got around to trying Creamistry today after hearing and reading about all the hype for months. I got a small cookie butter with marshmallow cream mixed in, and my sister got a small mango sorbet with mochi. The smalls here are BIG, and neither of us were able to finish, especially since the ice cream/sorbet is SO creamy and rich. Even the sorbet was incredibly creamy and smooth. To me, the ice cream was way too rich and I honestly only had maybe 5 bites of the cookie butter before calling it quits (it's still sitting in my freezer as I write this, and I wonder if I'll ever get around to finishing it). The cookie butter flavor itself was also pretty disappointing and didn't taste anything like the infamous Trader Joe's cookie butter (I assume that's what they're going for?). What's good Yelp, today I visited Creamistry. It's an ok place with ok ice cream. They have a shitload of flavors to choose from, so shoutouts to the cashier for waiting for me to choose. The staff are nice and friendly with smiles and stuff. I got the thai tea because it sounded good at the time and my lady got the green tea with pretzels. Honestly if you close your eyes, it tastes like $6 cold exotic flavored butter. Yeah seeing them make it in front of you is cool and all, but having some dude vaping and blowing the vapor on top of my ice cream from Rite Aid is cooler. Also their tip jar was a debate between whether the customer likes donuts or Kanye West better. And tell me why Kanye West was empty? All donuts ever did to you was give you extra calories. Yeezy changed my life. Anyways, it's good to get the experience to visit an ice cream spot that serves nitrogen-based ice cream but mainly y'alls is just doin it for the gram or Snapchat. I've tried liquid nitrogen ice cream at a couple other places but my family never had so I thought it'd be great if we all went here together for the first time. When we got in, the place was packed. I think it was because we came right after dinner time and I'm guessing everyone else wanted some dessert after dinner like we did. There's also a lot of popular food places in this plaza so I'm sure a lot of customers are attracted here after eating at those restaurants. Anyway, we waited for maybe 5-10 minutes before we got to order but it wasn't bad. We actually needed that time to figure out how to order and what we wanted since there were so many choices! The workers were friendly even though they were so busy and working hard to get orders out quickly. I really didn't mind the wait but do expect to wait a bit for your ice cream since they are all made to order individually. Of course, it is always fun to watch the smoke from the liquid nitrogen, especially if you've never seen it before. It's surely more fun than watching someone scoop ice cream. The only small complaint I had was that it gets really loud in the store. There's a lot of clinking and clanking of bowls. It gets to be a bit much so we made sure to enjoy our ice cream outside. We ordered a small cookies n cream and captain crunch both without toppings. They came out to be ~$12. It did seem like a bit much since we got the smallest size and no toppings but I could see why it costs more than a scoop of regular ice cream. There's so much more labor and time that goes into these orders. Also, the consistency of the ice cream is spot on. I was always hesitant to try Creamistry- $6-8 for a scoop of ice cream? No thanks, I'll stick to Thrifty's! My aunt took us here for dessert though so I was forced to try something and it was actually pretty good! Since the ice cream is made right on the spot, with liquid nitrogen, the texture of it is quite different from store-bought ice cream or even from places like Coldstone. The ice cream was super smooth and velvety, kind of silky, kind of firm? Not sure how to describe it exactly, you just gotta try for yourself!! We tried the mint ice cream, cheesecake ice cream and coconut-vanilla ice cream and I really enjoyed the flavors of each one. My favorite though was the mint chocolate, drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with mini marshmellows :) I will definitely come back to this place for dessert! read more

The first time I tried out creamistry, I couldn't understand what all the rave was about. However, I have totally become addicted! The basis of my 5 stars is due to the service. The staff here always greet their customers and are always smiling, friendly, helpful, PATIENT, and always take their time answering my questions about flavors despite the many times I've experienced the ice cream. The ice cream is also prepared really fast despite the long lines. I live in Garden Grove and frequent the Cerritos location verus Irvine, but if you live in a neighboring city and are taking your ice cream to go, I highly recommend that you get your ice cream EXTRA FROZEN at no extra cost. 4 solid stars for the taste and quality. There was a long line but we got through in less than 5 minutes. I had with me a 3, 5, and 9 year old and this will be what my review is based on. The flavor was delicious (we got premium base with cotton candy, vanilla bean, and cookies and cream). It was SUPER creamy and thick. I will admit it's something I've never tasted anywhere else. The topping were fine (marshmallows, gummy bears, and Kit Kats). $1 per topping. The only drawback for me is bringing my kids here is very pocket draining :(. Not a big fan of Creamistry. It's cool to try once, but the high price for a tiny little cup of ice cream is not worth it... The ice cream is also way too creamy for me and it doesnt taste good because it just tastes like im eating half and half cream or very heavy cream thats been cooled to have a harder texture... Its way too creamy (not exactly in a good way) and gets gross after a few bites. My sister excitedly told me that Creamistry is finally open, so we decided to go one Thursday night with my mom. It was still the soft opening and PACKED but they moved along fairly efficiently. The three of us opted for the regular/small size sans toppings with the standard milk. It's kind of annoying that you don't get one topping included in the price and that you have to pay extra for organic milk. I did find the ice cream to be really heavy. Flavors: Cheesecake: Barely a hint of cheesecake. It was good quality creamy ice cream, but the cheesecake flavor at Cold Stone's is much more prominent. Cinnamon Toast Crunch: Tasted JUST like the cereal and milk! Quite impressive although I could have personally gone with more cinnamon. Birthday cake: Also good. For some reason, this is the flavor that ice cream shops get down pat. Qualms: 1. Price - $5.50 is steep considering it doesn't come with any toppngs. I understand the novelty is in the liquid nitrogen, but I'd much rather have a smaller size (the small is still really heavy) 2. Atmosphere: SO crowded and a bit disorganized. Everyone is shuffled over to a small area to wait for their ice cream, and it all ran into the line that was forming out the door. This was all despite the fact that there were tons of staff working and running around. Guess there's not much to do but wait for the store to get less popular? I got the oreo, premium based, mochi, and gummy bears. BAD combo. The gummy bears is not a good addon at all because it hardens so it doesn't make the ice cream eating experience as smooth. I came back and got premium matcha with mochi and oreo with the waffle for free (if you get medium or family sized). It is the best combination ever. I love it. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because of the fact that I'm not very lactose tolerant which is usually the case for most Asians. But I love me my Ben N Jerrys so I decided to give this place a try. Our first time here, ended up being our last time here. Came here with my boyfriend. He got the regular cream with Oreos and I got the regular as well with brownies. I kid you not, ten minutes into devouring this sinful deliciousness, we got the major urge to go number #2. Sadly, we tossed the ice cream and headed straight home to use the restroom. Luckily, I had to just use the restroom once and be done with my business but my boyfriend had runs all night. Creamistry is great but the ice cream is super dense, creamy, and sweet so it's good for a once in a while type of thing. My friend and I shared a Captain's breakfast and it had Captain Crush pieces incorporated in the whole mixing process so you're sure to get a crush of cereal with every bite. My first time at this location was a couple nights ago...and I gotta say, the only thing thats impressive is the actual product. There was no greeting when we walked in the store and the employees obviously did not want to be there or offer suggestions. I settled on the matcha green tea ice cream with nutella mixed in...just one scoop. It came with a hefty price tag.. $7.09. The ice cream took about five minutes to be prepared and the first few bites were very dense but as it melts the ice cream becomes a lot more creamy and smooth. I loved the combination that I got and the scoop is quite large. Probably not a place I would frequent but its a nice place when you're tired of the same old, same old flavors of Coldstone. read more

There aren't a lot of ways to improve on ice cream. It's been done and done to death. Creamistry however has managed to tweak the experience enough that I walked away pretty satisfied. The ice cream was custom made and definitely made with flare. The whole spectacle of the liquid nitrogen and ensuing clouds is definitely fun to watch. I managed to try the taro and piña colada flavors. Both were super creamy, rich and the perfect consistency. The flavor of each was superb. Customer service was definitely on point. Given that the line was out the door the staff did a fantastic job of keeping the orders moving at a steady pace. I think my whole experience took 15 minutes. Pricing is definitely on the higher side. But it's to be expected. You're paying for the gimmick and the pricing is pretty plainly laid out. Creamistry is definitely worth a visit and a few subsequent revisits. read more

That happened to be my order (I was the first to order out of my group and last to get called) and found that they ended up giving me a generous scoop, probably because they knew I was waiting a long time. Long story short: the workers are cool. They're trying. But you end up waiting a long time for your ice cream, and it's stupid expensive. EXTREMELY PRICEY for what is basically just slightly better than average ice cream. The fact that you have to give up about 20min of your time just for a small cup of ice cream to come out is almost unacceptable, and you could get yourself a similar dessert for less money and less time at somewhere like Smitten. Wanted to love this place.... But I can't get over how lumpy my peach sorbet came out. I watched as several different people tried to fix my ice cream and I will have to say that they did a good job rounding the top and hiding the lumpyness... But it took so long and I knew something was not right. As I took a big scoop of out my sorbet, it was obiviously lumpy. Ready to spend close to $10 for some ice cream? Okay cool. I've been here a couple of times since it has been opened and I find it okay, but not amazing. Once you come here you understand why people fall for the aesthetics. Ice cream made fresh to order using liquid nitrogen. It's cool the first time around but not somewhere I'd be coming regularly since it gets pricey and a bit crowded at times. One thing I do like here is that their ice creams are very smooth, no ice chunks yeahhhh. However it can be a bit too sweet at times. I tried the premium base and that was just way too sweet. The organic base is less creamy and sweet but it's an extra $0.75 sent charge. I've had the amaretto, cookies & cream, pineapple dole, and mint with brownies. All really yummy. After stuffing our faces with Yuzu Shabu, my girlfriend and I decided to visit Creamisty, a first for the both of us. The environment upon walking in is pretty cool, you see the awesome "science" they use in order to make the ice cream and sorbets that fill the little area with fog. The menu lists a step by step guide on how to order and the different flavors and toppings they offer. My girlfriend ordered the birthday cake with Reese's pieces while I ordered the black sesame with mochi - we also bought 2 bottled waters and they come out with a Creamistry label on it, cute! The ice cream was good, it definitely wasn't anything extra awesome about them but I guess you're paying for the science part of it. I like this place but it isn't a "WOW" place. I prefer ice cream lab over Creamistry because of the texture of the ice cream. We ordered the captain crunch and an espresso. They were both pretty good but I don't like the texture of the ice cream. It's a little melted and thick. It's like a rough gelato texture. It tastes very artificial, although it isn't. You can chose between 4 different types of ice cream. We got the premium for both. The hype is all about the liquid nitrogen. It's pretty over priced. Each topping is pretty pricey. Also, they NEVERRR have clean tables when I go. I've been here about 3 times. I have never ever seen a clean table. read more

Honestly think this place is just hype for how it makes their ice cream. I've been waiting for it to open since I heard it was pretty good and the irvine one is far. One star for the ice cream and one for the okay service. Went yesterday after having some kbbq and honestly didn't think it was that special.
