This place is scary. Not sure how or why it is receiving so many good reviews. Some of the people who work here look like ex-cons. It's a pretty grungy place. When food is served, it looks institutional...like you are eating in a government cafeteria (or prison)....cheap silverware and plates, condiments served in those little plastic to go cups. Our server was eager, but everything else was downhill. I ordered a rootbeer and got one, but when I asked for a refill, they were out. They were also out of Sprite/7-up and only had Coke left. How do you run out of soda on a Saturday morning? The chicken fried steak was naaaaasty. I think the meat was about to turn. It was so gross. The server seemed to be impressed that I received a large size. In my mind, I think they were trying to get rid of the meat. If you want to have Sandra-Lee-type meal where food is half from cans and the other homemade (not sure which half is worse than the other) dine here. SERVICE SUCKED FOOD OK.. Wouldn't recommend. Went here based on Yelp reviews.. Wanted to get a solid egg breakfast.. Seated immediately at a nice little table. The menu was reasonably broad. We chose the special - sausage and eggs. Also split 2 pancakes, coffee. Our waiter was just awful. Honestly a little scary. No smiles he didn't introduce himself. He took our orders and literally turned and walked away with so much as a "thank you." He spilled coffee when pouring it, didn't acknowledge or clean it up. He forgot to bring the fruit plate side. He forgot to bring us butter. He had to take back the sausage because it wasn't fully cooked.. You can imagine how happy he was about that. I'm guessing we ate some spit. It's too bad.. Ruined what otherwise would've been a good diner breakfast. read more

Just what we were looking for. Excellent home style breakfast, killer pancakes, bacon and eggs. Simple, large portions and fast service.

Been coming here for years. In the meantime I've travelled around the world a couple of times (in the last 4 years, so recently), including Asia, India and Italy: I've tried every hamburger joint possible. My son Eugenio is chef/owner of the top burger place in Milan, Italy (Al Mercato, just rated one of the top five burgers IN THE WORLD, by Le Fooding Guide 2012) and believe me, being American he learned from me. But the ABSOLUTE BEST BURGER I'VE EVER, EVER HAD is still here, at the Creekside Cafe, hands down. The only thing I do to change it a little is take a little dough out of the bun before I eat it. I went here yesterday for the first time and I won't be returning. I had the eggs benedict and my eggs were runny and slimy. My friend had biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were hard and the gravy needed salt and pepper badly. We have no idea who our server was because 4 different people came to the table several times. On the bright side, the iced tea was good and they kept that refilled. The check took 20 mins to get to our table after our last plates were cleared away. At one point the staff needed a chair from outside brought inside so the manager swung it over his head and carried it over customers to get inside. Overall, it was a bad experience for us. Side note: while we were there someone in a wheelchair came in and they had a very difficult time getting through the crowded patio into the cafe and no one in the staff offered any help. It didn't seem like a very easily accessible place for a wheelchair. read more

Love the food here & love that it's family owned. I would give it four stars if it wasn't for the service. I live around the corner from this place & go pretty frequently, & it's always kinda of toss up on whether I leave pissed or not. Fist off, there's no sign that says "please wait to be seated" anywhere, & when you fist walk in to this tiny crowded place no one greets you but you are somehow expected to know that you should wait to be acknowledge & then seated. & if you make the mistake of seating yourself, because you assume it's self-seating since no one is acknowledging you, the owners get kinda pissy & either loudy tell you to wait or straight up tell you to get up from where you have sat & wait. This is hella rude & uninviting. If it weren't for the fact that this place is right around the corner from me & that it's the only place in town to get a good dinner style breakfast, I probably wouldn't haven't gone back after my fist time there. I also feel that the owners aren't as welcoming & warm towards people of color even though this restaurant is surrounded by a large Hispanic community with many of their patrons that come from this community. If you can get past sub par service then you will love this place. read more

Good greasey spoon type diner attached to local motel. There are not tons breakfast spots on Sonoma so this is a favorite by many. My husband likes the overloaded graveyard bike and chicken fried steak. This is not my go to however...while there are friendly people its s bit slow moving as it's always packed, and they don't have furniture for everyone. It's weird to sit at a table where half your group is in lawn chairs. But if your hungry and everything is packed or unavailable, this is a good alternative. read more

The owner of this restaurant tried to fight someone because they didn't realize the person's card need a pin number for a debit card. Was cursing, ripped the man's shirt and told him to "go back to germany". It turned out to be user error and the card worked fine. Would rate this place negative stars, food wasn't bad but this experience soured my day. read more

AMAZING! The smell of their French toast is enticing. Their large selection of specials made it difficult to choose, and the owner (didn't get his name) was so accommodating. Merged two dishes to make me a salmon Benedict with house potatoes. Has to be one of my favorite Benedict's yet. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a warm breakfast, great service and a Sonoma local cafe experience. read more

This place was within walking distance of our hotel, the Fairmont Mission Inn but the food was ok but the staff wasn't very helpful nor friendly. Fortunately the owner seemed to take a que that things weren't going well and stepped in. Otherwise this would have been a 2 star review. read more

Great local breakfast joint! Been here several times and the food is always consistent, plus they have fast, friendly service. Today I got the smoked salmon scramble special and it was full of good quality fish - no skimping here! Basic eggs & bacon are equally as good and the price is right too. Plus we can bring the dog and eat on the little outside patio. Is there better breakfast food in Sonoma? Sure, but for the price, location and service I'll be coming back to Creekside. read more

It was my first time there this past Sunday and it was so good! I really enjoyed their food and their customer service was AMAZING!

Food is consistently good and the atmosphere is great. The staff are wonderful considering how busy this place gets around 10 a.m. till 11. The omelettes and chicken fried steak are yummy. The homemade English muffin and jams are good too. Our favorite after the meal is splitting a full order of the sourdough French toast. We also enjoy looking at the old pictures of the Springs hanging on the walls. read more

Five stars because the owner runs this place, he is meticulous and courteous. All staff is too. The place is jumping on weekends, not open on Monday, possibly to rest after a wild weekend of awesome eats and hospitality. They serve real butter, real half n half or cream and real EVOO for their salads, YUM! Their ranchero sauce for huevos rancheros is SO VERY delicious!! They make the best Clam Chowder I have ever tasted.l, the clams are not chewy. My coffee cup is not ever empty, the servers are efficient and everyone is attentive. Wandered in here from our Airbnb for breakfast on a Saturday and couldn't be happier! The staff is super friendly, the sourdough French toast is like candy (in the best possible way), and the country Benedict special with pork gravy was amazing! It had just the right amount of kick to keep it from being cloying. Highly recommend sitting outside of the weather is nice, and don't miss the specialty coffees! This cafe is the way every cafe should be IMO. Unpretentious, great food at a reasonable price, and friendly staff. The corned beef hash is perfect....not mushy like other cafes but toasted and flavorful. The smoked salmon scramble is good as well. Warm Sierra Nevada to start. The older gent who took our order was friendly and upbeat. It's taking a long time to get our lunch. Yes, I am reviewing as t I go through the mealmy lover really enjoyed his club, it was piled high with thinly shaven meat, his fries were really good too. My steak sandwich was so riddled with fat that I had to fill myself up with some of Lover's meal. I did enjoy my salad with the house dressing. I'll give it another try. read more

Asked for some jam and the female, brunette server pointed at another table and told me it was over there. And it went down hill from there. We went here based on the Trip Advisors reviews. This place is nothing special inside, the service was very slow and our food was worse than what you would expect at IHOP. Worse even, it was dirty. We are huge fans of local restaurants, not chains, that are good at what they do. We chose this place based on the Yelp ratings and were happy with the results. The four of us had pancakes, scone, corned beef & hash, and Huevos Con Chorizo. All agreed the food was very good and two of us thought the corned beef and Huevos were excellent. The only negative was the seating and parking was tight. As popular as this place is I imagine they have to think about expanding soon. It is a little out of the way but not far from the Sonoma square and worth the extra effort to find. read more

I drove out to the Creekside Café from Napa looking for something a little different. As I headed down Boyes Blvd I began to think I had taken a wrong turn as it kind of takes you through a sort of residential area. Then after a few stops, alas! You finally see the restaurant on the left. It is in an interesting location, nevertheless, and patio seating is available. I chose to sit outside and it was enjoyable. I was enticed by the French toast and it did not disappoint. I ordered the small portion and still ended up taking some home. The service was impecible and I would definitely make a return visit. read more
