Basic no frills food, good service. I wouldn't come here for avo toast or anything fancy. A food place to bring toddlers or nonfussy palates.

Chorizo and eggs

This is a true local spot in Sonoma. Other than us all others seemed to be locals where the owner greeted them by name. Very sweet. The staff was very welcoming. The vibe was charming and local. If you are looking for a healthy light breakfast, maybe skip this one. But if you want to treat yourself on a Sunday morning to home cooked food that is not totally recommended by your health care professionals come here. You only live once and this incredible food is worth it.

Clam chowder

This little cafe was cute. I loved the old fashioned bar stools. It right out of the 50's. I had the cheese burgers that came with fries. It was juicy and the bread was fresh. My friend had the TLB sandwich and clam chowder. The chowder was thick and hit the spot perfectly per my friend. The waitperson was friendly.

Grits with smoked ham and poached eggs topped with hollandaise sauce

Holy moly - literally one of the best breakfasts I've had; ever... This morning they had a house made grits plate with a slice of lean smoked ham and topped with a couple of cooked to perfection poached eggs and delicious hollandaise sauce (plus toast). Savory deliciousness in every bite! They should put this on the regular menu because it's seriously bomb. Great service from Mike and his crew, as always and the ambience is old-fashioned diner-style just exactly how we like it: Love sitting at the counter when it's available. 5-stars all the way !

Cute salt & pepper shakers

I visited here 5 months ago and I couldn't wait to come back for their chicken fried steak breakfast with hash browns and fried eggs over easy. The cappuccino is the best in town. They have cute salt and pepper shakers for each table. Personal and warm family service I can't wait to come back again!

Fantastic atmosphere. Great service. Food was outstanding. The black beans were absolutely amazing and I'm not even a fan of black beans.

Jesse's Focaccia Sandwich

We came to this cute little cafe for brunch before heading to go wine tasting for a friend's birthday. We were seated right away and had great service! Multiple servers came to wish my friend happy birthday and the food was served to us very quickly after we ordered. I ordered Jesse's Focaccia Sandwich with no tomatoes and loved it. The chicken was cooked very well and I loved the addition of roasted red peppers. My friends ordered some benedicts which looked amazing as well!

What a hidden gem... or maybe everyone else knows about it but us. The parking is limited, but you can park around the back or next door in the McD's lot. Seating outside, but since it was raining, we opted for inside. We walked into a cozy, friendly environment which was packed. The only table that was available, was a table for 1 in the corner. The extremely generous young man sitting by the door, heard what the server had offered us and he immediately turned to us and gave us his table and he moved to the single table. I don't think anyone has ever done this for us. We gladly accepted and in turn we treated him to breakfast. We were curious to see the plates coming out of the small kitchen. The pancakes look amazing, as did everything else we caught a glimpse of. A Vallejo omelette and a basic eggs, bacon and potatoes plate. My husband absolutely loved the omelette comparing it to the ones he used to order at the Cliff House in SF back in the day. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were perfect with onion and red peppers added in. Omelette $20 and egg combo $19. Very reasonably priced. The service was great and the food came out piping hot. We will definitely visit again. They were written up in Sonoma magazine for the lemon pancakes and French toast.

Yesterday was a low key chill day, and we needed a place to just relax and begin to let go of all the stress. The girl and the fig was just right. We are like an hour away from Sonoma, and we been here many times just never together. The restaurant's environment is extremely amazing. We showed up, no previous reservation made,we showed up during their peak hours and they managed to seat us within 5 mins perfectly were we requested. Perfect ambiance to sit, drink, eat and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We started with The Morel mushroom tartare, which is morel mushrooms, with an egg, shallots and chives oil over a perfectly well toasted sourdough. Delicious! The steak tartare did not disappoint either. Great balance of flavor between the two. The mushroom earthy flavors along with a light hint of pesto from the morel tartare really balanced out the richness from the steak tartare. The pickled figs served with in the steak tartare really called my attention as they were delicious as well. That was my first having pickled figs :) The salad was delicious, I am a sucker for cheese and the perfectly ripe figs along with the chèvre cheese truly hit the spot. The wild flounder pouched was the wild surprise! I love a restaurant that preps their seafood just right. I love seafood! And I do not like it when it's over cooked. This dish did not disappoint! It was so rich and delicious. Flaky yet nicely seared on one side full of that citrus flavors along which just enhances fish's flavor once it hits the taste buds! The flounder was served over a bed of mashed potato and spinach. That perfect combination. The drinks were delicious as well. Honestly, the service, the food, the vibe, the sunset it was all perfect. Thank you for an amazing time and delicious food the girl and the fig!

I just didn't order anything that blew me away or that I think is particularly unique or difficult, hence the 4 stars. I came with a group for lunch on a sunny Saturday and sat on the patio. Although there are umbrellas, our specific table was exposed and we were roasting! They were kind enough to relocate us to another part of the patio despite the crowds. Otherwise, it felt bright and cheery! For food, I ordered the fig & arugula salad and the smoked salmon. The salad was a great portion size for a meal (or to share as a side), it was perfectly dressed, and the toppings were proportional & balanced. One of the better salads I've had out! The smoked salmon was good but nothing to write home about. Their house chips are nice and thick, which I like, but a little too salty for me. I'd like to come back up to try the mussels, duck or some other entree next time I'm in the area, though I probably wouldn't go out of my way.

We had been to Sante before, but the restaurant looks fresh and chic since the recent renovation. Sean Carscaden, one of our favorite local artists was playing a couple of tables away, the volume was perfect, we were able to have conversations without it being obtrusive. The courses came out "family-style", we never waited for anything but also did not feel rushed. We had a friend join as we were starting the second course, staff was accommodating and moved a table over and got her caught up on the previous course. Since we had seen Sean before, we knew some of his playlist and he allowed us to request some songs. We ordered a bottle of Syrah to have with our main course, and it was perfect. The food here is awesome - deep flavors and genuinely a ton of craft in their work (tamales and tortillas made fresh, you can see them making it through the window by the register). The food is pretty classic, but just executed so well - I really don't think you can go wrong. My personal favorites are the mole enchiladas / tamales (gently sweet, smoky mole, not overly chocolatey and really balanced, especially with a side of pickles) and the fish tacos (GIGANTIC).
