    Where is the Banh Mi?
    Juan V.

I went to Creighton ( Not Warren Buffett's favorite College Basketball team, Creighton University). Creighton Bakery has two San Francisco locations and they are family owned. I usually go the other location but decided to give this location another chance. In San Francisco the value of all values when it comes to donuts is if they have a good apple fritter. This is a good indicator and sets the tone for the rest of the pastries at the bakery. This apple fritter was fresh and had a good amount of sweet glaze and not too doughy. I also tried the raspberry turnover which was not too sweet but a bit flaky. They also offer breakfast sandwiches mostly on a bagel or a croissant. I was hoping to see the Banh Mi Sandwich on the menu at this location. The other Creighton's location Banh Mi sandwich is very good. Overall good place is good to get a quick breakfast or lunch. It also has a good coffee menu. Consistent as before. Creighton is the spot to eat something now or later It has lots of turnovers like a game involving a Las Vegas Raider

I've been to the other Creighton's more than this one simply because it's more on my regular walking route (review: https://bit.ly/3KUaXkR). At the same time, they're fairly identical in their set-up and service. When I order the $4 Cafe au Lait, I still get handed the cup half-filled with steamed milk ready to pump out the coffee of my choice from the warming thermos (photo: https://bit.ly/3F0Icz0). I was on my way to Mt. Davidson just for the walk, so I stopped at this one and was struck by the number of cakes and other baked goods which accounted for most of the customer traffic here. People were coming in and out to pick up their birthday cakes. It was just me and the three cops drinking the caffeine and avoiding the donuts. At least this time. Food: 3 Coming from New York, this place is overpriced for what it is. The bagel and coffee are fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Freshly toasted but with cheap American cheese. Service & Ambiance: 2 Unfriendly service and limited seating with lots of high school kids on weekdays.

Trying their pastries first time using TooGoodToGo app.

I didn't realize this place existed before until now because I used the TooGoodToGo app to find this bakery who had day old items left over from the day before that I purchased at a discount on the app. It is a small, quiet, overlooked bakery blended in the Portola outdoor mini two block plaza where Molly Stones Tower Market is and only one person at counter to give me a mystery paper bag. Hard to describe this bakery. The pastries are not oily or over buttered like the French where you may want to vomit because it's just too rich. It's light and texture is different from other bakeries. You won't get a big flaky crunch with the pastries. But you can always bring it home to toast it up to get it crispy. The chocolate pastry chocolate texture is unique and I kind of enjoyed it. I am always up to something new and different. I wouldn't mind ordering it again. While I was there my eyes were drawn to the huge lemon bars, next to the giant lemon tarts too. I just had to buy one for $4.50. Visually I know the crust is extra thick if you like that. It was a nice heavy and solid lemon bar. Not overly sweet and nice sour mixed in. Nice balance. I wouldn't mind trying out this place again. They seem to have a good variety of different items. I know one reviewer mention it's stale pastries. But if it's stale I doubt why this neighborhood bakery would still be here after all these years!

Yummy sandwich's (love the club) Great coffee and espresso drinks. Yummy desserts. I need to stop going to Starbucks and come here. The Starbucks baked treats are all processed and made in a factory.

Lemon bar. See the layers. Lemony! Nice!

Lemon bar was right on. Tart, tangy, sweet, different layers. Crust is slightly thick but buttery. Their description as an American bakery rings true. Friendly local bakery. I was eying on the apple turnovers which looks flaky. Next time. Price is reasonable. One guy came in and bought 6 m&m cookies. Gosh they have savory pies like hot dog, etc. Looks interesting.

Right when I entered the seller smiled and explained to me about their sandwiches. I ate an egg salad sandwich which was very tasty. The place looks nice and clean. Have platypus of parking outside.

Thai Tea with regular boba and Crystal boba. Sausage egg and cheese croissant sandwich.

I tried the regular croissant, the almond croissant, and the kouign-amann. My favorite was 100% the almond croissant. All were amazing but the flavors and textures were truly exceptional. While I was visiting friends in the Inner Richmond, we were tempted by the aroma of butter and decided to brave the line to try one of these legendary pastries. While the line stretched halfway down the block, it moved quickly, and we only waited in line for about 15 minutes. The ordering process was efficient, and we were able to pick up our pastries in a couple of minutes once we were at the front of the line. The menu is short and simple, and I decided to try the almond croissant, one of the classics. I enjoyed my croissant when I got home, and immediately noticed how decadent and heavy the pastry was (I recommend splitting it). The outside was very toasted - almost bitter - and the inside of the pastry tasted slightly underbaked. On a more positive note, I appreciated how the almond filling tasted purely of freshly-ground almonds; simple and naturally sweet without the overpowering almond-extract flavor. While this first experience did not quite live up to my expectations, I would still come back to try the other pastries.

It ended up taking us over two hours to get our pastries, and by the time we reached the front, some items had already sold out. This time, we decided to arrive right when the line opened at 7:45am on a Friday. Personally, I'd rather get there early, wait a little over an hour, and have the first pick of pastries than arrive later, wait even longer, and risk missing out on items. We were the third party in line and placed our order around 9:05am. By 9:15am, we had our pastries and drinks. After our first visit, I wasn't completely convinced the wait was worth it. The pastries were good, but the long line and wait time didn't feel justified. This visit, however, may have changed my mind. We ordered: * Madame Lorraine * Chorizo & Tot Croquiche * Morty P * Strawberry Vanilla Bean Bun * Pistachio Cardamom Sugar Croissant * Rocky Road Double Chocolate Cookie * Classic Croissant We also got two drinks: the S'mores Mocha and the Cherry Vanilla Almond Cappuccino. Don't skip their drinks, their specialty coffees are just as creative as their pastries. I really appreciate their rotating menu. Their pastries are always so creative, and I love that they experiment with unique flavor combinations that you don't typically see at a bakery. Some items are definitely more memorable than others, but I enjoy that there's always something new to try. Their pastries are well executed. The croissants are flaky and buttery. This visit, my personal favorite was the Chorizo & Tot Croquiche. Overall, this visit was a much better experience than my first. If you're willing to wait in line, I think it's worth checking out. Otherwise, you can always try your luck with their Hotplate presale.

It was absolutely heavenly. The standout was the bolo bun with guava butter. We also tried the classic butter bun, which was excellent, but the guava version was the winner for us. For something savory, we ordered the salted egg yolk and BBQ pork bun, and it was delicious. The combination of sweet, salty, and savory flavors worked really well together. We also tried the pandan bun, which was fine, but it didn't quite stand out compared to the other flavors. I wish we had time to come back and sample more of the menu. I had my eye on the matcha and red bean varieties and would have loved to try them. I also ordered a Hong Kong milk tea and it was rich and strong. They even serve it with a mini warm bolo bun on top of the cup, which is both adorable and delicious. Pineapple King is the kind of place I would happily travel back to San Francisco for. Now if they could just open a location in LA my life would be complete!

I've always wanted to try this place since I see a line every time I walked by. There's a lot of foot and car traffic. It's definitely a busy area so expect to park in one of the nearby residential areas or be extremely and walk/bike/bus here! Upon stepping into the tiny shop, I was enveloped in the sweet smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was tempting to put that in my bag, but I stuck with my game plan. They do self serve for all the baked goods and drinks except the pizza and focaccia. You tell the cashier what you grabbed. There's self serve complimentary water on the side too. Got a pecan swirl, one of each square focaccia flavors, and a half pizza (hot). The pizza flavor of the day was triple mushroom with sesame ginger garlic vinaigrette and mozzarella. It was 10/10 delicious!! Do note that they don't heat up the focaccia. Personally, after tasting everything, I'd say the pizza is more worth it than the focaccia "pizzas". The pecan roll was quite addicting too. You can also skip the line if you want to order online on their website and schedule a pick up time, but my gift card didn't work so I just waited in line.
